Rant away my friend
apparently a few people wanted me to vent about the kirby novels so head in hands ig i'm gonna go for it LMAO (this is inspired directly from @desultory-novice 's posts about it)
ALSO IM SORRY IF THIS IS SO DISORGANIZED gonna be honest i forgot a good half of what i wanted to talk about. But Anyways. please note that all of this is entirely My opinion you ofc dont need to agree and despite everything i actually really love and enjoy the kirby novels a lot !!
so okay after hearing her talk about the reason we're likely not getting a magolor epilogue novel and knowing takase's erm.... Infamous reputation regarding how she handles magolor's character that had me thinking a lot and. Wow i'm kind of Really nervous for how this magoland novel will turn out actually because a lot is kind of at stake here when you think about it
takase will either be forced to actually develop magolor's character, or she will just completely scrap everything that happened earlier, remove any mentions of the epilogue and go straight back to square 1 where magolor is -- once again -- the villain of the story. Don't get me wrong i like evil magolor a lot lol i think if done right it can be a very enjoyable portrayal of his character. but there's only So many times you can make a character the antagonist before it just gets straight up exhausting y'know
i think it's ESPECIALLY different in terms of magoland. This might be a cold take idk lmao but merry magoland isn't just some wacky little theme park magolor created out of the blue for no reason. It's something that signifies and sets in stone how he's a changed character. Merry magoland is magolor's dream he's had for a really long time by his own words and truly shows that all he's wanted to do is make people have fun and be happy. if you make him the antagonist in that, that completely just fucks up Everything relating to his character and renders that entire development null and also invalidates all the hardships he's gone through to make that happen
i do think takase's portrayal of magolor is fun! i do enjoy it and i do appreciate how he has a hard time communicating his desires and showing true friendship. i think that's important. one of magolor's most significant flaws is how he has a hard time understanding how friendship is supposed to work and what to do when you have friends. but maybe instead of making him the villain. Over and over and over again you could idk... have him Learn?? and actually Develop from his issues??? i know waddle dee is a completely separate character but for the sake of comparing to another person who has gone through a huge amount of development in the novels -- why can't magolor do the same? why is it constantly so insistent that he be the one causing all the problems for no reason other than haha it's funny (in most cases at least. i know dreamy gear was different and i will give it a giant shoutout for that)
i'm so sorry if i sound too harsh here i literally don't know how to word it otherwise lol i think it's important to emphasize that despite everything i do like seeing magolor's character in the novels. but it just gets to a point where it's Grating to me at times and depending on the scenario is just completely inaccurate. that's why i think magoland is such a huge point for us here with a lot on the line -- if she chooses to not make magolor the antagonist and make it accurate to the game's actions and desires, that will be an essential key for his development and showcase that we're actually making progress with his character. but if she chooses to make him the antagonist again, the potential for him being something more than a villain -- which is RIGHT there -- is completely wiped
afaik magolor and kirby's friendship was also mentioned and i just want to throw out there. merry magoland happened because of kirby. merry magoland happened because of magolor's friends. kirby, meta knight, dedede and bandee are the reason merry magoland exists. so if takase chooses to not acknowledge any mention of that and make magolor go against them all, that also erases the potential of magolor's relationship with other characters as well yknow... the characters he's gone against for this whole time? it also makes no sense whatsoever??
so yeah this is a bit long but there's just a lot to either look forward to or dread about this novel -- or even both lmao -- the more i thought about it. i want to have a decent amount of hope that i could be wrong here, maybe takase will take advantage of what she has to work with game wise and create something truly special. but throughout all of magolor's appearances in the novels... *hand on mirror* it seems like all of his character is constantly scrapped in favor of treating him like some apathetic irredeemable character with no regard for others or understanding friendship. so that's kind of a hard pill to swallow

IM GONNA RAMBLE!! im so glad sasha was asking the real questions 😭 thats why she should’ve been there earlier 🤨 but anywho.. djshdh i was wondering since there’s 5 chapters left are we going to find out who she’s with on the final chapter ? idk i feel like based on this chapter it kinda sounds like it’s gonna be eren? but reader is so unpredictable it’s still not obvious to me.. OR WAIT 💡☝️ i don’t think you’re gonna answer that question so i’ll just theorize LMAO ok so i’ve seen other people mention this but maybe she IS gonna go on that little trip or vacation and then there’s gonna be a time skip because i do think at this point, the three of them need space from all this drama and to work themselves out. like maybe she shouldn’t be jumping into a relationship rn? IDK I THINK THATS WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN. maybe that’s also why eren didn’t answer, like she took too long deciding and he’s gonna be taking a break for himself too to actually work on himself.
i think throughout the story i started off as team eren and then i kept switching until the both of them made me go like 🥴. but that doesn’t mean i loved your writing any less. i think once i stopped being on “teams” lol i still appreciated that you made everyone with a lot of flaws and drama. eren would’ve been perfect minus the whole misogyny thing obvi. and if i HAD to choose only between him and jean, the only reason why i would choose jean rather than eren is because he at least wasn’t doing what eren was doing. but that’s the ONLY reason. jean just isn’t as charming or romantic 😭 he’s too dry for me (i’m sorry)
if this was real life, i don’t think anyone would ever forgive eren even if it was in the past or if he “changed” but bc it’s fiction i guess that’s why some people are being more lenient? omgjfgk but i wishh sometimes that we could have had a story with eren except not with this type of drama LMAO you wrote him being romantic TOO well. like i was in love *twirls hair, kicks feet* ANYWAYS GREAT CHAPTER AS ALWAYS tuesdays are my favorite days because of you! 🤍
omg ty so much for sending this in!! hehehe i loved reading all of it 🥰💗
tbaw ramblings below
yes, you'll find out in the final chapter! the final chapter is also ridiculously long in order to flesh out the endings for everyone. i thought about splitting it up into two chapters but there's not really a good "cut off" point. and i don't want to drag out the ending.
to me, it's like when the final episode is an hour-long special or whatever for the finale lol that's like the final chapter of tbaw. atm it's a little bit longer than the jean fucking kirstein chapter.
forgiveness is a really interesting concept to me. it doesn't really help the person you're forgiving (in this case, eren), because they still have to carry the guilt of what they've done, but it kinda frees you, in a way.
you can forgive someone without allowing them a place in your life. it doesn't mean you trust them or you like them or whatever, it just means that you're not going to let what they did continue to hurt you.
forgiving eren doesn't make him a good person. it's what he does and how he lives the rest of his life that determines whether or not he's learned from his past and reader doesn't necessarily have to be in his life after she forgives him.
idk if that makes sense? i'm also a generally pretty forgiving person, so i'm pretty lenient lol but i also understand that there are things that are completely unforgivable, but i'm just rambling now so i'll stop lol
anyway i'm glad you're liking the story!! 💗💗💗

I just saw the thing with the Jungle Book 3 script...I had no idea! I'm glad we didn't get that, that premise sounds dangerously bad in Disney's hands... But how would the film go if written and directed by Lolly?
Haha I want access to the jungle book 3 script out of a horrified fascination, not out of a desire to do it myself. I have absolutely no idea how this movie could possibly play out so I desperately want to know how they planned to pull it off. Plus I want to read the almost canon Shere Khan redemption arc with my own eyes.
But okay, let’s see. How would I possibly write this movie if I got saddled with the job and I wasn’t allowed to change the plot? Let me think. I’ll throw out some ideas off the top of my head, though don’t expect them to be well structured. It’s gonna be a stream of consciousness.
The weird thing about the premise is it’s changed location. Jungle book 3 but no longer in the jungle. Which feels off. Sure that would require the characters to carry the movie themselves, rather than the setting, which I’m usually all for. But the setting seems crucial to the way these characters behave, putting them somewhere else is very difficult to imagine. (Talespin, I know. I know, shut up. That’s not what I mean. I don’t mean pilot Baloo. I mean feral bear Baloo being put somewhere that’s not his natural habitat.)
Another thing I’m fuzzy on is this whole circus/travel business. Obviously this circus isn’t gonna be somewhere close by so how is mowgli, a kid who lives in an isolated village in the Indian jungle, going to track down the captured animals?? Boat? Train? Look idk how that whole thing works but let’s assume he can travel a good distance on foot or canoe and manages to hop on a train somewhere. Also who’s going with him? The plot summary just says “mowgli and his friends” I assume that means Shanti. Maybe Rajan who probably stowed away. Bagheera??? Would bringing a wild animal along on this rescue mission really be a good idea?? Smuggling him along on this hypothetical train?? It’s a terrible idea but else are they gonna do, leave Bagheera behind?? Attempt to make Mowgli, Shanti and Rajan likeable enough that they can carry scenes without him?? Nah, we gotta have Bagheera. This is what bothers me the most about this plot, who the fuck is Mowgli bringing????
But okay let’s wave off the concerns with this stuff and assume Mowlgi travels across the country through various transportation methods with Shanti and Rajan and Bagheera (for the sake of me wanting Bagheera to have a starring role in this movie.) I thought about how they could maybe take Kaa along too, since he would be pretty handy for getting them out of trouble in a non violent manner. But I cannot for the life of me imagine a scenario where Kaa would agree to cooperate. And as stupid as dragging Bagheera along is, Kaa’s presence without trying to eat all four of them would be even more unbelievable.
But okay. So the movie begins in the jungle obviously. I think I’d age up Mowgli to a teen/young adult. And by this point, he’s more well adjusted and has found a happy balance between his village and jungle life. He regularly meets up with Baloo and Bagheera (and any other animals he considers friends.) but….his age comes with a lot more responsibilities than he had when he was younger. Mowlgi has been a lot busier so he doesn’t have that much time to hang out with Baloo these days.
Just like the second movie, Baloo misses Mowgli terribly. But unlike that case, he knows that this time, Mowgli isn’t trapped in the man village, he’s choosing not to spend time with him. And it’s starting to make Baloo feel like Mowlgi is outgrowing him. Their relationship isn’t the same as it used to be. Mowlgi isn’t a little kid anymore, he no longer idolizes Baloo, but rather sees him as he is, acknowledging his flaws. Still loves him obviously, but there’s a lot of important people in his life that he needs to make time for and Baloo doesn’t really understand that. It’s a human problem after all.
Baloo would be moping and Shere Khan would stalk up towards him. Though his moral code is a mystery to everyone but himself, Khan has the decency to warn Baloo that Man is in the jungle so if he wishes to keep his hide, he’ll make himself scarce until Shere Khan can eliminate the problem. Baloo protests that the man might be Mowlgi (“maybe he’s looking for me?” Baloo wonders hopefully.) or someone from Mowgli’s village. So he follows after Khan, attempting to peacefully talk him out of causing a bloodbath. Unsurprisingly, Khan is not swayed.
Blah blah blah basically Shere Khan and Baloo are captured. Word spreads across the jungle, reaching Bagheera’s ears and thus Mowgli’s. Originally the plan is to rescue Baloo and Baloo alone. It’s Bagheera that argues that though Shere Khan is unforgivable, one of his few redeeming qualities is his desire to protect those who roam his jungle from Man. So, to live a life tormented by Man is an unjust kind of cruelty that he does not deserve. Mowgli, who was raised in the jungle, can sympathize with a more animalistic approach to decency and promises that Shere Khan will be rescued too. Shanti, who was raised in the village, thinks Bagheera and Mowgli are out of their minds and that tiger will surely kill them all once they free him. This is probably a conflict between Mowlgi and Shanti throughout the movie but I do not care to go into any more depth about it.
Idk….road trip?? I guess that’s what half of the plot would be. Mowlgi, Shanti, Rajan and Bagheera making their way cross country. Don’t ask me how they’re gonna swing making it out in public without everyone freaking out about the panther. I do not know. There’s probably gonna be a few incidents, it’s fine. Shenanigans will ensue. I guess we can take advantage of this opportunity to show off the culture and what India was like in the early 20th century. I have no idea what it was like. But we have a Disney budget that I will also take advantage of and let crew go on a trip to India for research purposes. Anyway
I’ll probably acknowledge Shanti’s anxiety throughout the journey. She’s known to be terrified when she’s out of her comfort zone so being in all these new places is gonna be nerve wracking for her. Mowgli isn’t much better. He’s not scared but he’s never been outside his little jungle/village world. So it’s a culture shock for both of them and they gotta figure it out together. Ironically Rajan would adapt pretty fast. He’s much younger so he soaks stuff up like a sponge. And I like the idea of the older kids having to rely on him to get them through this.
In between this rescue mission adventure, we will also cut back to Baloo and Shere Khan in the circus. Now this is tricky because old circuses were horrifically cruel to their animals. But this is a Disney movie so I can’t be too accurate. The most I can do is frame it as pretty shitty. It sucks and it’s a humiliating experience for Shere Khan.
Baloo would immediately become their most popular animal. He is literally a dancing bear. They play some music and he’s fucking off, they didn’t even have to train him. It’s because they don’t have to train him that his time in the circus is less painful than Shere Khan’s. But still, Baloo spends most of his time in a cage. He misses Mowlgi and Bagheera and he wants to go home.
Probably other circus animal side characters I don’t care enough to think about. But they’re there.
I can’t figure out how this experience was supposed to “reform” Shere Khan because its most certainly not going to make him hate humans any less. If anything, it’s just going to make his hatred a million times worse. Actually this would be….deeply traumatic for shere khan. But also Disney movie so I’m not allowed to give that reality too much focus. Anyway
The only thing Baloo and Shere Khan have left of home is eachother. Their cages are side by side and most of their conversations are arguments but they’re a comfort to eachother nonetheless. They talk about the events of the first movie and how Khan attempted to kill Baloo. And because they’re stuck in cages with nothing else to do, they don’t have much of a choice but to keep talking about these things until they reach some tentative understanding.
Baloo talks about Mowgli, certain that somehow, someday he’s gonna see him again. Khan rains on his parade constantly. “If you’re stupid enough to actually want to encounter the mancub again, you deserve the bullet he’ll eventually put in you.” Baloo is irritated with Khan’s nonstop stream of pessimism and never stops to think about what’s being said to him. Khan doesn’t only dislike Baloo’s relationship with Mowlgi, he’s concerned about it. About what will happen to Baloo.
Anyway while I don’t believe Shere Khan would ever “reform” I feel like Mowgli traveling all this way just to rescue them would definitely shift his opinion of the mancub. Not Man as a whole, just this particular one. After all, he has proven to sincerely care about the lives of animals like Baloo and Shere Khan, enough to greatly trouble himself to free them. They would never be friends, not even acquaintances, but Khan would begrudgingly accept his presence in the jungle. Mowgli and Khan would have a curt conversation on this subject on their journey home.
Mowlgi and Baloo get their big hug and address how Baloo has been feeling. Mowgli doesn’t intend to drop the rest of his life and start hanging out with Baloo more. They simply acknowledge that he’s older now and his papa bear is not his whole world anymore. But he’s still papa bear and Mowgli is still little britches and no matter how much vines and moss grows over it, it’s still there in stone. It’s feels a little bittersweet but Baloo understands for once.
Idk I also want Mowgli to tell Shere Khan that Bagheera was the one who convinced them to rescue him and it’s like
“Aww do you care about me, Bagheera <3”
“Shut the fuck up <3”
It is unimportant to the plot, I just want it.
That’s all I got, thank you for your time.

My thoughts on the finale (long post)
Okay, I really just wanna put some thoughts down and I need to do it here. Spoilers and opinions, you can choose to agree or not, but please be respectful
I usually try to have a good attitude about things, pointing out the best in everything.
I'm having a really hard time right now.
That's not to say the episode was bad, it's just...
Well, I feel like I'm watching the Game of Thrones finale again. I just feel so unfulfilled. Then again, my hormones are a little out of wack at the moment (thanks mother nature) so my odd feelings could be because of that. I feel so angry and upset and hyped and... I don't honestly know. I really don't. I feel like I want to throw up, but not in a bad or good way.
I guess I just...
Feel.
I've stayed up every night for every episode because I just adored it so much. Yet I feel like... there should be more. I know we got a second season confirmed, but we don't know when. We don't know what it means for the future of the MCU. We don't know anything.
I guess we should have expected this because Loki was supposed to be this new horizon for the MCU. Doctor Strange 2 needed a plot. Someone said this show was just a big ad for MoM, and I find myself disagreeing with that, but only a little.
I think the best way to describe it is it's like the show suddenly decided it wanted to be something else. It's not a bad thing necessarily, but after episode 3, the tone really shifted.
I'm trying really hard to hold off on my more detailed thoughts, but they just keep creeping in, so I'll just wrap up this... intro? Idk.
I think the TLDR is that I feel disappointed, but I don't really blame anyone. Kate Herron, Mike Waldron, they all did AMAZING jobs. They really deserve the highest of praise for this. Is it my favorite MCU project? Yes. Am I excited for season 2? Absolutely.
Tumblr media
But Game of Thrones can still be my favorite show and I can still dislike the ending.
I find writing this out is helping me feel better. Once I sleep it'll probably feel less... hopeless.
Now, next section. My thoughts on key plot points.
We all figured Kang would be introduced. I'm actually very excited to see what they do with him. The actor was just phenomenal and I can't wait to see him later on. Someone call up Erik Voss because he redeemed himself after the whole Mephisto deal
I guess the Multiverse was reborn, but not in the way I was expecting/hoping. I feel like there's a large gap between when the timeline shattered and the final scene with Loki, Mobius, and B-15. What happened? Though, I guess it makes sense. We all wanted a multiverse. We never considered the consequences.
I'm angriest about Mobius losing his memories and not getting his jetski. Like I said, Yelena can get a dog in BW after mentioning it once. But as someone on Reddit pointed out, they had to make sure Marvel would greenlight a second season. It does not mean I can't have a huge cow about it. That's what we get for jinxing it, friends.
I think I understand what Star Wars Sequel haters went through. Getting all these grand (maybe... glorious?) ideas about the ending and what a hopeful message about destiny and identity the series could give us. And the series gave us... none of that. Hell, I was so sure these would be used, and I was bamboozled. I'm sure others saw it coming, but they just looked too good to be fake out shots. My best guess is that they're gonna use this footage in season 2 for a plotline and they stuck it in here to trick us... but maybe that's just me being desperate
Tumblr media
It was barely 1 AM here, Marvel. The Miss Minutes jumpscare was NOT COOL. I mean, THIS IS HORRIFYING IN LIGHT AS WELL
Tumblr media
I'm really confused about Ravonna now. Is she good or is she bad? Where did she go? And why was it important we see her backstory and not any of the others (say, B-15 or Mobius)?
God, okay, I guess I have to address the elephant in the room now.
The Sylki kiss and then betrayal fight thing.
Let me get one thing very extremely clear before I continue: I do prefer Lokius, but I am FINE with Sylki. I think I've just been desensitized to any ship that ends with -cest because, as I've made clear here and in the past, I adore Game of Thrones and Crimson Peak.
I honestly think my main reservation about it is a flaw within myself that I dared not admit until I saw it staring me in the face: I'm probably a little possessive. I can admit this and I really dislike it about myself. But I think I'm just not a fan of Loki having a love interest in general. What makes Lokius different, I have no clue. Maybe deep down I knew Marvel was too much of a pussy to ever make it canon... then again, I was begging for a last minute kiss or something. My feelings on the matter are complicated.
But the way they handled the kiss in this episode? Gotta say, not too much of a fan. I know some antis like this, but it just felt too... not genuine. Maybe I'm just an idiot who thinks all kissing should have a meaning. A purpose. The Reylo kiss in Rise of Skywalker? Ben just saved Rey's fucking life, I think that warrants a large gesture of affection.
But this?
I think I get bad juju from the kiss, not the fact that they made it Canon. You can disagree or agree any way you want, you can even send nasty anon messages. That's my opinion and I'm choosing to stick to it.
And sending nasty anons won't do squat, I don't give a shit about faceless threats and hate.
Anyways, back to my point
The fight felt like a mutual betrayal, but at the same time it felt like neither really wanted to go through with it. I admit I felt Sylvie was more in the right and that Loki seemed a little too complacent, especially after everything he went through and saw. But like Sylvie, I didn't consider the consequences and now everything is fucked. But I still don't think Loki was right.
I think it boils down to being an impossible choice because no matter what you pick, everyone loses.
I believe that my main gripe with Sylvie and Loki's ideology split is that it feels a little too rushed and/or, dare I say it, out of character. I've agreed with Loki's characterization up until this point (again, you can disagree with me, that's your opinion and you have full right to it), but... man, I don't know. It all feels like an impossible situation.
Then again, I'm not the one in the director's chair. I'm not the team in the writers room. I don't know the first thing about making a project like this. I like taking solace in the fact that Tom had some creative control in the series about the character he loves so much. And, let's be real, he knows Loki the best out of all of us. None of us can hold a candle to that.
We can call ourselves experts, but Tom is the real expert. I trust him more than anyone. If he hated how this was turning out, he probably would have said something.
We just have to trust in the creative process
So, at the end of the day, this series was (and still is, remember, season 2 is on the way) absolutely phenomenal and I think it's Marvel's strongest work in a very long time. They know Loki is a character we all love and adore and I feel like they've done their best in honoring that. Besides, what other character is getting a second season? How awesome is that??
I found writing this out helped me process my thoughts and emotions IMMENSELY. I don't feel as... angry? Hopeless? I don't know. I keep comparing this to the end of Game of Thrones, and I feel like that's doing a disservice to Loki. Game of Thrones' ending was just absolute dog shit and there was no chance to redeem it because it was the last season.
Loki has a second season on the way.
It's not over yet.
Nothing is ever final until the universe forces it.
Kang can be stopped
The Multiverse can roam free
Loki can learn to find true happiness
Sylvie can stop running and fighting
Ravonna can redeem herself
The TVA can burn or reform (whichever you choose)
And yes
Mobius can get a jetski
We know nothing yet of season 2, what it will entail, how it connects to the rest of the Marvel Universe, or even when it will be out. But I know that I will eagerly await it when that day comes. I will once again put on a smile. I will wait hours to watch the new episode the moment it drops. I will be excited for it and enjoy it.
Because, at the end of the day, that's all it's about. Telling a story. And, mother of God, Marvel sure is telling a good one.
Until next time, my friends.
For All Time. Always!

Can I ask you some questions about Ethan and Genevieve I discovered your page a week ago just finished all the fics I'm interested in your version of the characters
Oph MC is usually seen as flawless and perfect (like every other MC in choices) what are some bad habits or flaws your MC has and we know Ethan's flaws he is one of the few li's who have actual flaws but still I'd like to know your Ethan's flaws which are personal or you have imagined them. (English is not my first language can't explain my request more clearly than this)
Do you see them married with kids in the future ( ik the marriage part you have a fic about it but here is what I specifically want. both of their opinions on this matter before meeting each other and after spending a year or two dating)
Does Ethan have extended family that you have created like a cousin he is very close to or a best friend (if yes can you make a fic where Genevieve meets this best friend or cousin?)
Any hobbies or skills Genevieve has?(like sketching or piano or something idk why Genevieve gives me piano vibes)
Which med school did you have Genevieve go to?
Are they fresh air kind of people or city air kind of
Do they believe in aliens
Opinions on pineapple on pizza
And last but not the least body language ( signs their body gives off when they are anxious, scared, happy and excited)
Ik they are a lot of questions and you probably hate me for making you answer this question air but either way love your work♥️♥️✨💫
Yes! You can always ask me questions and I LOVE these questions. I’m very attached to Gen lol so I’m always willing to talk about her!
Thank you for reading all my things!
And I don’t hate you for all the questions, I answered every single one, under the read more because they got lengthy. lol
First Question:
I definitely don’t see Gen as perfect. I’ve kind of put a lot of myself in her, which I’ve never done with any other MC I’ve played. I kind of see Gen as as a perfectionist, to the point where she gets in her own way. She also, like Ethan, tends to put everyone’s problems on her shoulders and feels responsible for thing that are way out of her control. And though Gen is patient, sometimes too patient, she can hold a grudge. It’s unhealthy and she knows that, but she has a hard time over coming it. Like with Landry, deep down Gen wants to let it go and move on. But there’s a small part of her that will always feel angry and betrayed. Gen’s also not one to put her own needs ahead of others, it’s rare that she’ll ask for what she needs, unless she 100% trusts the person she’s confiding in. (I have a headcanon where her dad cheated on her mom when she was in high school, they didn’t get a divorce, but Gen was the one who discovered the affair and it left a sort of trust/abandonment issue.) She can be rather clingy in a relationship, at first, something Ethan was annoyed with, he’s rather independent I think, but once he understood where that was coming from it didn’t bother him as much. It was just Gen’s way of reassuring herself that Ethan was hers, that he wasn’t going anywhere. Plus her love language is physical touch/affection and spending time together.
As for Ethan, I think he’s a very closed off person, has a hard time trusting people. He absolutely will push someone away, not because he necessarily wants to, but in order to protect himself. For me, I think one of the main reasons why he didn’t dive 100% into a relationship with MC was his fear that he’d lose them. That they would walk out the same way his mother did. I also think he’s way too stubborn and has a hard time admitting when he’s wrong. He won’t be the first to back down in a fight, even if that means it makes him unhappy.
Second Question:
I absolutely see Ethan and Genevieve married with kids. Gen has always wanted to get married, always wanted to be a mother. She’s had a pinterest board since high school thats dedicated to her dream wedding lol. When she found out Ethan wasn’t 100% on board with marriage, she was bummed. But at the same time, she was/is willing to let that go if it meant she could be with him. As long as she has Ethan, she doesn’t need a ring. Gen’s also always believed in soulmates and fate, she knew after their kiss in Miami that Ethan was her soulmate.
As for Ethan, I think deep down he’s always wanted kids but never saw them as an option because he never thought he’d find the right person to settle down with. I think that also ties into his past with his mom. Same with marriage, when he wasn’t in love, it didn’t make sense to him. But once he was, realized he never wanted to lose Gen, he understood it. Once he recognized how much he loves Gen, he wanted everything with her. Marriage, kids, all of it. With MC/Gen he realized he could be the parent he wanted to be.
I have a scene in chapter 3 or 4, I can’t remember which, in Love You Home where Ethan and Gen have the marriage/kids talk.
Third Question:
I think Ethan has an extended family. We don’t know much about his parents, if they are only children or not, but I think either his mom or dad has a sibling or two. They’re definitely not close at all, he probably doesn’t see them. But they exist. Gen’s influence definitely persuades him to reach out, in the same way she influenced him to give his mom a second chance.
As for a best friend? I don’t think he has one, I think Naveen is his closest friend at the moment. But I would love for him to get back in touch with maybe a childhood friend or friends from collage. Maybe even become friends with some fellow attendings at Edenbrook. Again, I think have Gen/MC around has really opened his eyes to different things and realizing how important friendships and relationships really are.
And at some point I may write something for that.
Fourth Question:
I love that you see Gen as a piano person because I also see Gen as a piano person. She doesn’t play much now, lack of access to a piano and too busy with work but she does know how to play. She also speaks a baby bit of french, not enough to be fluent but enough to understand her maternal grandparents (they’re first language is french, so they speak it interchangeably with english). I also think she’s a pretty decent singer, she did choir in middle/high school.
As for hobbies, Gen is super into photography. She’s not the greatest, but she loves it. It ties into her being a super sentimental person, she likes to have tangible memories. She also loves journaling, she definitely has a bullet journal that she does herself. It’s relaxing for her, after a stressful day. And I don’t know if you’d count make up as a hobby, but Gen is super into it. On the daily, she really only wears eyeliner, mascara and a light lipstick, but on her days off she experiments and does more intricate looks. I have a headcanon where Ethan comes home and sees Gen in like a super dark lip with a kickass winged liner, very femme fatale, and he’s shookith.
Fifth Question:
I go back and fourth on what med school Gen went too, I googled top 100 med schools when I started open heart so I could pick a good one for her lmao Its a toss up between University of California or University of Pennsylvania. Gen is from New England, she grew up on the coast of Maine - not too far from Providence actually. So I sometimes think UPenn because Gen would want to be close to her family. But then sometimes I say Cali because she wanted the adventure of going off on her own. At some point I’m going to have to choose obviously but where not there yet lol Still a toss up.
Sixth Question:
Genevieve is absolutely a fresh air girl. She loves the beach and being outdoors. Boston is a bit of a change for her, being a city but it doesn’t take long to find some country air here in New England so she gets both. lol
Seventh Question:
LMAO I love this question. I never thought of this but you know what Gen absolutely believes in aliens. Not in a weird conspiracy kind of way, more in a scientific kind of way. There’s no way Earth is the only planet in the galaxy to have life. The galaxy is freakin huge, scientifically there is no way we’re the only planet with life.
Eighth Question:
Pineapple on pizza is a crime. End of story. No one should ever have pineapple on pizza. No just...no.
Ninth/ Last Question:
I’m going to answer this for each of the things you listed in your question.
Anxious: It’s very easy to see when Gen is feeling this way, at least to Ethan and her friends. She retreats inward and does this like twisting motion with her fingers. Like cracking your knuckles but not actually cracking your knuckles. She’ll also bite the corner of her lip.
Scared: Gen doesn’t scare easy, but when she does she kind of hugs herself, makes herself smaller. Will hide behind things or run away. She’s a flight not a fight when scared. Especially if its like a spider, bug or snake - she’s terrified of those. That’s a freeze or run and scream situation.
Happy: Super easy to tell when Gen is happy. She gets really smiley, a little bouncy. One of those people that does that little happy dance of swaying back and forth.
Excited: Same as happy, big smiles. Jumps around. a little dancing. Lots of giggling.
I’m gonna add one more here, for shipping purposes lol
In Love: Gen is affectionate af, very touchy. She’ll show you how much she loves her way before she ever says it. Ethan realized she was in love with him months before she said it. Just by how much more open she was with physical affection. Always gently touching his arm, or kissing his cheek, always willing to hug him or snuggle in close.
Thank you so so so much for the questions, these were so fun to answer! Feel free to drop in any time. I love Gen and Ethan so much, I will always answer any questions you want to ask me about them.

This is not fair of me to ask, I'm sure you have plenty to do, but there is this post on reddit titled, "Is there an enjoyable way to read about SWTOR plot? I have fallen ill right after playing Umbara and I would very much like to know why certain someone did what he did, but I am unable to play and wookiepedia is quite a dry read. " He explains he has seizures from playing video games. I was wondering if you had something written that would help him out, or maybe you could write something?
Oh no, that poor guy! That really sucks to be invested in a story and then not be able to see how it turns out!  I’m going to guess videos/playback of them have a similar issue  🙁
I totally will agree with him that Wookieepedia is definitely dry, but I’m going to boldly put this statement out here: it’s also incorrect.
At least the articles on Fractured Alliances were (and a few other TOR era articles I came across), to the point where I actually got really angry reading them because the assumptions were just so... blatantly wrong. And not well sourced. (This is a strange hill for me choose to die on, but I will go defend it nonetheless.) Granted I haven’t looked at them in several months, so it’s possible they’ve been updated since then? 🤷‍♀️
I haven’t written a full write-up on what happened in Fractured Alliances, but honestly I’ve been meaning to? Because the Wookiepedia articles irked me that much, I feel like someone needs to rant at length and correct them. I’ve just, erm, got a bit lazy and distracted and haven’t done so. Mostly because there’s actually a lot to cover, and a lot of misconceptions to correct, and sourcing is hard yo.
BUT! I can do a cliff’s notes version really quick to get him some answers. Although if it’s possible... maybe just link him this post in private if possible? Mostly because there’s some pretty big edgelords over on Reddit, and they make me tired (which is why I stopped even going over there to look at things).
Also I still haven’t quite lived down Gravedrog yet. I still can’t believe that blew up to the degree it did.
BUT! I can talk about Theron Shan, and his motivations all the live long day. Probably too long if we’re being honest. And I’ve definitely invested far more thought and energy into understanding what happened in this storyline (and why everyone did what they did) than is probably rational. But hey, we all have to have a hobby? And apparently mine is dissecting rushed/truncated video game storylines and their implications on characterization.
The TL;DR: Theron does what he does in Fractured Alliances to protect both the Outlander and the Alliance. And eventually by extension of the plot, everyone in the galaxy
(Whether or not a player or Outlander agrees with his methods for going about it is another debate entirely, but Theron definitely had his reasons, which were noble in intent, as all roads to hell are said to be paved with)
(Sorta) Cliff’s Notes Version of Fractured Alliances:
(okay this isn’t that short, but I promise it’s a lot shorter than it could be)
Once upon a time, we find a junky old spaceship in the swamp. We ignore it whispering creepily to us and a bunch of warning signs and decide to adopt it anyway
Sometime later, the entire cast of KOTET takes a reluctant field trip (see: KIDNAPPING) to Iokath.
While there, some stupid droid turns to Vaylin and says “Hey, you want to erase all of these Gemini droids free will?”
Because the entire expansion of KOTET got cut down by literally half, a lot of characterization shortcuts are taken and Vaylin’s like “HELL YEH”
All of the Gemini units are mindwiped save for one, a creepy little scarfed explorer who was off exploring Hoth or something. We get one e-mail from Hylo about this droid at the end of KotFE Chapter 16.
This lone Gemini unit, named Gemini 16, is traumatized by this and she’s like “Fuck having sisters! I want to be an only child!” and decides she wants to murder her entire droid family. Apparently it’s the only way to be sure this never happens again???
We defeat Vaylin, Valkorion, and take ownership of a shiny new fleet! Neat! Also, we install the Fleet’s control console with a known security flaw that we ourselves tried to exploit in KotFE (see: The Gemini Frequency) into the heart of our operations on Odessen. I’m sure no traumatized, misanthropic lone Gemini droids or crazy Zakuulans will use this to their advantage.
Oh wait.
Some guy we never met hates us because two kids were arguing over a piece of bread in the street.
This genius is named Vinn Atrius. He’s our villain.
He says “THANKS OUTLANDER-BAMA” and “We always had plenty of bread before YOU showed up!” and “Zakuul can’t just conquer and force everyone to bend to our will anymore :( :( :( :(” and “Won’t someone think of the children????” and decides he’s going to murderize him an Outlander. And the Alliance.
He decides to become a terrorist and frame us for his terrorist acts.
When he’s not starting whisper campaigns about how the Outlander is this horrible tyrant that must be stopped
Theron gets wind of Vinn’s plans, and decides to pretend he wants to be a cultist too! -- Vinn wisely slams the door in his face. This is the only wise thing Vinn ever does.
Vinn’s not a very good mastermind, so scary droid lady (GEMINI 16) says “Here honey, let me help you find a giant apocalypse machine”, although she doesn’t say honey because she hates everyone who’s not her
I actually skipped Iokath but I swear to god that’s an entire post unto itself, but someone tries to murderize the Outlander. Theron’s strangely calm about this. We’re supposed to think that’s because the TR8R WAS HIM ALL ALONG
This is stupid and goes against every characterization of Theron Shan up to this point in canon. I literally need an entire post to go into this, and am trying to keep things short.
TL;DR: This lady tried to murder the Outlander because ?????
I’m pretty sure the person behind the mask is the Scion, Oramis, and this part of the story/explanation got cut when they condensed everything.
Oramis and the Scions are also another post/explanation entirely
Gemini 16 lured everyone to Iokath
the full explanation is a post unto itself
but it’s the only thing that makes sense (with her motivation, Vinn’s motivation, their entire dialogue on their first meeting -- again, I’m trying to keep this “short”)
Sixteen literally has recordings of Team Outlander talking about who could have lured everyone there -- implying she was in the Iokath mainframe the entire time they were there on Iokath Fieldtrip #2
also, Vinn Atrius is as dumb as toast
🍞
Theron is actually pretty pissed about someone trying to murder his boss/best friend/girlfriend/boyfriend. And he’s pretty sure he knows who it is. So he goes into ultra THERON LOGIC mode -- which is to say, he becomes an overly paranoid loner -- and decides to infiltrate a death cult.  (again). As you do.
Because via intelligence reports that are for some stupid reason hidden behind group content, he already knows that some conspiracy against the Alliance is afoot. And that they’re being watched. Apparently Lana forgot to read all of her Intelligence dossiers????
Since he knows we’re being watched, but can’t figure out how, logically the only thing to do is without any backup whatsoever, try and infiltrate the Death Cult that slammed the door in his face once already.
Luckily for Theron, Vinn Atrius is a dumbass and says “IDK... you’re pretty close to the Commander”
Theron says “Would a face like this lie to you?” while making this face in the cutscene: 😡
Vinn’s like “When you’re right, you’re right! Blow up a train for me?”
Theron: AHAHAHA SURE. I LOVE BLOWING UP TRAINS
Theron, Mentally: ...well, crap. I guess I could tell the Commander about this. BUT THE WALLS HAVE EARS--WAIT I HAVE A BRILLIANT PLAN
Theron proceeds to concoct the most elaborate stage play known to man, which includes:
Leading everyone to the front of the train
Where he can lure both the Outlander and Lana into the front compartment
And shoots Lana with a stun blast, something he has never done before to someone he’s trying to supposedly kill
Then he shoots at the Commander--but not really, because he was shooting out the window on the front of the train
Then he shoots again at the Commander--but not really, because he was shooting at the controls to bring up a shield that prevents the Outlander from following him
And oh no! Now there’s a shield between them, what a tragedy, I guess he can’t pretend to shoot at the Commander and miss for a third time. Guess it’s time to monologue like a Bond villain. What can ya do? It’s not like he has cybernetic implants that help him be an expert marksman. God, that’d be embarrassing.
Since he knows that he’s being recorded by some unseen person, he really hams it up for the camera. He makes this face again, because he’s decided it’s part of his tr8rsona: 😡
The Outlander can react in a variety of ways, but if one of those ways is “UM WTF???? WHY DIDN’T YOU TALK TO ME???” he suddenly breaks tr8r character and goes “I thought about it... but then you might have talked me out of it--AND WE CAN’T HAVE THAT!”
if you romanced him and say you still love him he makes this face: 😭
And then literally tells the Outlander how to escape from the train before like going “I’m really gonna blow up this train -- in thirty seconds -- gosh it would be a shame if you were still on this train in thirty seconds. When it blows up. When I pull the trigger. That I’m about to do.”
The Outlander leaps off the train, out of the convenient exit point Theron made, with Lana. They’re respectively like “?????” and “🤬🤬🤬🤬”
Vinn thinks this all very convincing. Sixteen is facepalming in the background. Vinn doesn’t listen to her. We don’t see any of this, but it’s kind of implied in future dialogue.
If you’re dating Theron and didn’t try to Force choke him, he sends you a letter going “I STILL LOVE YOU -- CAN’T EXPLAIN WHY I DID THIS BUT ILU PLZ DON’T FORGET ILU oh yeah and the alliance sucks and stuff i guess -- ps. ♥︎♥︎♥︎”
This is apparently something a tr8r would do, because Theron is Vinn’s go-to guy now. And decides to give Theron the task of retrieving a map to this place called Nathema so they can find a giant death machine to kill the Alliance.
Oh wait. That place called Nathema. That Theron has been to before. And knows the exact coordinates too because he was the pilot that flew them there. The place that Valkorion sucked the entire life out of and made a giant wound in the Force. THAT NATHEMA.
This is the part where normal people might think “Maybe I should reconsider my plans”, but they are not Theron Shan. Who shaves his head, throws away a jacket he’s been wearing since he was like fifteen, and heads over to Chiss space, to steal/blow up a map to the Ancient Death Machine.
Actually it’s revealed/hinted at on Iokath, on Copero, and then clarified once again in Nathema Conspiracy, that this machine is literally the Apocalypse
It wipes out entire worlds’ populations in an instant
Background lore indicates that its hunger is endless and has been waiting to rise again and there’s like prophecies about this
If activated and not stopped, this machine will literally annihilate all life in the galaxy
Theron blows up some more things at a resort, runs bravely away away, and then OOPS OH SO ACCIDENTALLY broadcasts his call with the Death Cult, who say their name on camera.
Shockingly, the Alliance intercepts the accidental-on-purpose broadcast and now know the name of Theron’s new cult: The Order of Zildrog
Then like forever and a day passes in real life, but who knows how long in game time, but I guess it’s like, six months or less according to a line of dialogue -- and finally Lana and the Outlander mysteriously get coordinates to a myyyyysterious abandoned outpost.
And by mysterious, I mean that Lana is the only one who can decode said coordinates because she and Theron came up with the encryption together on Rishi
It’s almost like he’s working from the inside or something
But if you tell Lana that she’s like “NO HE’S A TR8R GRRR THIS A TRAP”
It is not a trap
Lana and the Outlander wander around, and find a bunch of recordings someone conveniently forgot to erase detailing a bunch of infodumps that’s way too long for the Cliff’s Notes version, but boil down to showing and implying an entire novel’s worth of backstory:
Vinn’s manifesto
Theron unconvincingly pretending he really likes death cults
Vinn staring at numbers from data he got from Iokath and zomg Zildrog is reallllll -- the legends of his mighty hunger and DEATH DEALING are true! Squee! Just what he needs to get rid of that pesky Outlander!
Vinn recruiting people who really don’t like you into his death cult
Gemini telling Vinn he really sucks at this masterminding thing, but she needs someone who’s good with people so hey let’s team up!
Oh and she knows where Zildrog is
The Outlander and Lana escape before the space station blows up
Over on the Shuttle of Zildrog, Theron’s like “It’s all up to you now, Commander” and apparently Vinn hears that and is like “Hey Theron, did you remember to erase all of our super sekrit recordings and blow up the space station?"
Theron: 👌
Vinn: 👍
Sixteen: 😒
Back on Odessen Lana’s like “I KILL DA TR8R” regardless of your feelings on the matter as an Outlander. If Arcann’s still alive he’s like “Hey Commander, maybe go easy on Theron? I know the value of forgiveness. Maybe he had his reasons?”
You get corroborating information of literally everything we just learned on the Space Station OF DOOM and Lana’s still like “Nope, still gonna shank me a tr8r! No one tazes Lana Beniko and lives!”
I assume it’s a fun ride to Nathema
Okay I joke. She’s just being protective and "logical”, but honestly if you select literally every single dialogue option supporting Theron throughout this story, illogically Angry Lana can really start to grate after a while
On Nathema, we follow a myyyysterious signal -- to Theron. To the surprise of no one except Lana who’s like “JERKFACE STAY AWAY FROM THE COMMANDER”
Theron proceeds to tell an extremely abbreviated, and slightly more straightforward version of everything above.
If you’ve romanced him, he reminds you that he promised to do anything to protect you.
This includes shaving his head, updating his wardrobe, blowing up a train, and putting up with Vinn Atrius’s shit for months on end
The things he does for love
Lana still doesn’t believe him. At this point if you want to, you can be like “Lana plz” and she’s like “OKAY FINE--BUT I’M WATCHING YOU TR8R”
Gemini 16 was watching the entire exchange. Looks like SOMEONE’S cover is blown. Oh well, Theron was done with it anyway.
Vinn is SHOCKED. SHOCKED I TELL YOU.
HOW DARE
THERON????
HOW COULD YOU?????
YOU FRIENDED ME ON SPACEBOOK
WAS IT ALL A LIE
I KEEL HIM
Sixteen is just like “whatever let’s go activate Zildrog”
Vinn: Is this why he kept insulting our Lord and Savior Valkorion?????
Team Outlander fights their way to the site of the Ancient Apocalypse Machine. They meet Shroedinger’s Cultist along the way via holo.
He/she/they says “hi/plz die”.
There’s sixteen candidates for this spot (two for each class) -- but all sixteen are not death cultists at the same time
This is another thing that requires an entire post to delve into, so another time on that
Team Outlander arrives at the site where Zildrog was installed on Nathema -- coincidentally right at the same spot Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorion initiated his first death ritual to grant him semi-immortality. Fancy that.
Vinn has convinced everyone he’s recruited into his death cult to climb into these really dangerous looking pods; not surprising but they’re all basically dead -- because Zildrog required a human sacrifice to be reactivated
A human sacrifice???
In my ancient death machine?
It’s more likely than you think!
Theron shoots Vinn because he’s tired of his shit
Gemini 16 reveals that the Zildrog machine is one half of a larger death device built on Iokath. Where’s the other half?
OH BACK ON ODESSEN. Because it’s the Gravestone. Yes, I know everyone forgot about it at this point, which is kind of easy since we haven’t seen it since KOTET.
The Gravestone blows up the Eternal Fleet. Like, all of it. At once. Also the control console for the Fleet blows up too. This kind of detonates several things on base.
For some reason edgelords on Reddit think this is all Theron’s fault
As if the writers were really going to let us keep that Deus Ex Machina that would literally prevent them from going back to these same whiner’s precious Pub vs Imp conflict
And ignoring the fact that this would have been the end result even if Theron hadn’t gone undercover
I digress
Team Outlander fights Sixteen and defeats her.
Theron goes to try and finish shutting Zildrog down and Vinn Atrius is like
Tumblr media
And stabs Theron in the back with a lightsaber pike
The Outlander can be like
“FUCK YOU ASSHOLE THAT’S MY BEST FRIEND/BOYFRIEND”
 or “OH NOES”
or “ASSMUNCH I WAS GONNA DO THAT”
Vinn’s like “DRAGGONNNNNNNNN” as if he was recreating a scene from Dragonball Z, and the holo-Zildrog is like “Here, let me make you go Super Saiyan!” -- and gives Vinn a boss buff
Outlander and Lana fight Vinn and kick his ass. Then kick Zildrog’s ass. Yes, Zildrog is literally just a computer console in the center of the room, and if the Outlander more or less pulls a Kylo Ren on it
The Gravestone blows up -- everyone on Odessen is really confused
Lana tells the Outlander that “WAIT! Theron’s still alive!” -- she’s backed off her murderous rampage at this point and says we have to bring him back to Odessen to save his life
The Outlander can act like any sane person to their boyfriend/best friend/person-who-risked-their-entire-life/reputation-to-save-us/etc and go “Let’s take him home and save his life”
Or can be a dick and literally make Theron live out his worst fear of being abandoned by the people he cares about -- because despite the mountain of evidence that illustrates he literally did all of this to save your life, you can just walk away going “tr8rs never prosper”
This option shows what looks like him dying offscreen
I’m pretty sure he actually survives
Satele sends you a nastygram if you do this, where she directly contradicts a previous letter she sent (to Theron) if you tried to kill her in KotFE Chapter 12
Lana also is not happy with you if you do this, but not like, enough to actually leave or anything
Back on Odessen it’s revealed half of the members of the Alliance are fair weather friends and have abandoned you since you don’t own any super cool space ships anymore
If you brought Theron back with you, he limps up while you and Lana are shooting the breeze and asks if he can stay
You can say yes or no
If you’re romancing Lana you can propose to her around this point
If you’ve romanced Theron (and didn’t tell him to hit the road), you take an ill-advised walk as he’s still limping like crazy, where he reveals that he’s been having nightmares ever since Umbara about you walking away from him and he can never catch up
GEE WHAT DOES THAT SOUND LIKE
He says he knows he doesn’t deserve your trust or forgiveness, but still asks if you can give “your idiot spy boyfriend” a second chance
You can say no, of course, but if you say yes, there’s a dialogue path that leads to an adorably awkward proposal
And he promises that he and Lana will stay by your side no matter what
THE END
(of that story arc)
Sorry, I know that’s rather disjointed and rushed (despite being as long as it was)! But for such a rushed ending/conclusion, there’s actually a lot of moving parts to the storyline as whole.
At some point in the future I’ll try to actually expand upon some of those tangent points of “I need more time to explain this properly” -- because there’s a lot of them, and a lot to them. Also cross-referencing the pieces of canon takes time -- but I promise there’s actual canonical evidence and logic trains that make sense for all of that.

ok ok ok so. i'm in a very complicated situation rn. lemme start from the beginning: -so i'm best friends with this girl for years -our friend group talks abt sexualities, me + other girl come to conclusion that we're bisexual, the best friend thinks she *might* be too -realize i'm in love with her -confess to her later -she doesn't like me that way
-i don't think she's straight????? -time passes -we're both in a religion btw -she asks me one day abt our religion's views on homosexuality -i tell her one of the views, that it's alright -she says ok -she's still questioning btw -i think she might be bi/pan leaning towards guys
-i move to a different country -i leave the religion, not out yet to anyone tho -but we still text -she sends me a post one day abt homosexuality -it's that other view, that homosexuality is wrong -she believes in that view and is trying to persuade me to undo my bisexuality in some way or ignore it -getting strong indoctrination and internalized homophobia vibes here -she thinks i'm still in the religion and is trying to convince me on her views on homosexuality -i try to argue back carefully since i can't let her know i've left -anyway we fight -and apologize a few days later -and she suggests we don't talk abt religious stuff because we always fight abt it
-i say ok -i do flood my insta story (that she sees) with lgbt posts out of passive aggressiveness -i know i know, but i couldnt help it because i have very liberal views and i feel very strongly abt religious homophobia and sexuality -i sort of wanted to punish and test her -'this is me, this sexuality is a part of me, not a test by god, and i'm gonna show it and make it obvious, and you have to choose between remaining with me despite it or not.'
-we don't speak for three months.
-our only interaction is viewing each others' stories -she texts me with something random a few days later -we're talking again -i've forgiven her at this point -after all, before i left, i was just like her, i believed the same things she did -i want to believe that just like me, she'll come around and see things for what they truly are. -idk what to do till then
-i'm still in love with her -i still feel elated whenever she texts -i still feel that spark when i hear her name
-i want to get over her, over it -but still remain her best friend -it's hard because a huge part of getting over someone is to cut them off completely -and for those three months i did not think of her, so it worked a little -but when she texted it all came flooding back.
-i'm so, so, so fucked. what do i do?
Hey!! First off congratulations to you for standing strong in who you are and your feelings in this situation Its never easy. I am religious but I strongly believe love is love; and anyone and everyone should be able to love whoever they want to. I am sure leaving was not an easy decision.
Also you are so not fucked! This is so normal!
Now for the tough part. I think a part of you is always going to be in love with her; because you re always going to see her as who she was to you when you were younger as well as everything you guys have been through all the good moments and even the bad ones. It also appears and doesn't help that your mind may be romancing it up a bit as she always comes back; and its almost like she knows she has this over you. No matter what she says or does you'll always take her back.
The other issue I see if that you guys have only spoken via text; where we often make up the emotions, and feelings of the other person.
I would recommend two things:
1. Set boundaries; you already taken religion off the table. But you also need to set up boundaries to protect yourself. This could be as simple as not answer texts right away, or could be as big as not sharing your full life with her. (talking abut the weather or work; but not your dating or relationships)
-I know she was your best friend back than and you still call her it now but its okay to grow and change; you don't have to bring your best friend with you as you do grow. It sucks but everyone is on their own path!
2. I think you two really need to take on the phone, Zoom, FaceTime, or even in person. Like I said earlier you haven't seen her in a while, you have not spoken a ton besides texting. A lot more could have changed and you're not seeing it because you still see her as your best friend before you left the country.
The big questions I am going to ask you though is are you forgiving her with an apology or are you just forgiving her because you love her? If your not giving her an apology it sounds like she abusing the relationship because she knows the second you fight and take space and she knows when she reaches out you'll always forgive her and put things back to normal. No one deserves to be used like that.
When it comes to trying not to like someone unfortunately that takes time and you have to stop feeding the idea that you like them. I've done things of looking for "flaws" or things we would clash with. this could be beliefs, foods we like, how we prefer to spend Saturday night, or even house pets we like. "well I love dogs and they are allergic so it would have never worked out". It sounds a bit crazy but it helps you look at someone as a whole as opposed to your favorite parts.
I think it's incredibly brave to follow your heart and do what is best for you. I also think its incredibly brave to stand up for your belief and what you feel. Just remember the choice of what to do is always going to be yours. You have to trust your gut and follow your heart. I will happily always be here if you need tot all, vent, or even ask for more advice. I hope it gets better and I hope you find someone who treats you with love, respect and kindness, you absolutely deserve it. I'm rooting for you :) -KMH
