i dont know how to connect these pieces together, except for something regarding how the characterization is done, but venture bros, homestuck, utena, house, some others i cant think of rn... something about the way the characters interact and build in these captivates me. the complexities, the almost... impromptu way these characters develop so naturally, and i think it comes from different places in most of these though homestuck and venture bros probably holds the most similarity in terms of expertly utilizing retroactive foreshadowing to create beautiful and complex character relationships. house feels like it moreso... accidentally happens upon great and logical character development lol. i usually wonder if im reading too far into it when i watch particularly great moments. and utena's characters feel so 3d because they really are-- the sheer amount of different utena stories that adds and expands and also contracts on different aspects of each character ends up building a very 3d and symbolic picture in the mind.
okay okay so I had a dream about a robin hood-style band of outlaws who were captured in a group by royal guards.
The leader was interrogated in front of his men by having arrows driven into his legs, which were then tugged on and moved around while embedded there to cause more pain and damage. When threatened to have it done to his arms too, he cracked, spilling vital information/confessing to the group's crimes in front of his men.
The rest of the outlaws were pretty pissed off, and shunned him, even when he was begging for help/water after the guards left.
on my extrapolating about characters arc so im thinking about. gorgug and riz. do u ever think of them
gorgug who grew up knowing intimately how much he stuck out like a sore thumb. riz who can count all the goblins in elmville on one clawed hand.
riz who hides behind walls and in dark corners because he cannot stand in a crowd and simply blend in; gorgug who wakes up his whole childhood in a room too small. two people who garner attention that they aren't seeking. riz the rogue whose keen eye notices, knows how people will stare if given the opportunity. gorgug who more often than not sits timidly with his headphones on and hands in his hoodie pocket, who hates the stomach flip when someone assumes he must be a barbarian, and hates the fact that he proves them right.
riz and gorgug who are different in their upbringings, but share the same quiet sense of unbelonging, in green skin and craned necks and cruel cruel assumptions
Can’t stop thinking about the tweet I saw the other day with that screenshot of Seokjin and Yoongi sleeping while the kids were all playing games in the other room saying they looked like a) the grandparents in willie wonka or b) victorian children dying of tuberculosis in old paintings
Btw u know how each union bday vignette interview had the “which dorm would you join that isn’t the one ur in now” question. Every character that dissed heartslabyul bc “the uniform/vibe is too bright” is a coward.
also i don't think exact numbers are all that important like i'm not gonna scream and cry until it's perfectly even and i know that's not realistic and doesn't make sense anyway (case in point:) but while we were tallying the numbers for purgatory 2 last night to get rough estimates we were kind of giggling about going well there's this many women, this many men, and then one aimsey, bc i don't know exactly what to do with star so they get their own category
have i mentioned how insane genshin is for making gay couples but mostly lesbian couples be the most powerful people running each nation like the cute lesbian couples just chilling unquestionably in love and agreed upon in the fandom as obviously romantic is so insane to me
Referenced a specific scene from Twilight Princess and then cooked my brain until it begged mercy posing this but it was SO WORTH IT. This is definitely down the timeline a lil bit, but Mindy is a fiercely loyal and a ferocious warbird, and I wanted to do something cool with that. So.
whenever i see posts that are like here's how to cover up a swastika someone drew i'm like. ok but you do realize that is helping whoever drew the swastika, legally, bc the cops will take any chance they get to be like well it's not a swastika anymore now we have no proof that this was a hate crime and not just vandalism. even in places that were very jewish and liberal where the cops actually took swastika graffiti relatively seriously this happened semiregularly.
A quick retrospective on the early YouTube phenomenon of the Back Dorm Boys.
The was a 3-part douyin video series from 哈妹娱乐 (Ha Sister Entertainment) which I have edited down into one 7-minute video. Due to Tumblr size constraints, the video is split into two.
