Just binge-watched all two seasons of Strange New Worlds
Don’t get me wrong I’m always down for more Spock but with each adaptation they’re making him thirstier and consequently erasing a fundamental part of his character which is that he’s REPRESSED

spock's characterization in requiem for methuselah is actually quite interesting. he shows a very good understanding of human emotion, he understands the dudes plan before anyone else, he observes his jealousy (i wonder if it is at all connected to what he himself might (try not to) feel), rayna's love and in the infamous ending scene he understands his captains pain and goes to the extreme to ease it. by his own admittance he himself is 'close to feeling human emotion', that is when he sees the flint's amazing art collection- because oh yes btw he loves (or at least he's very knowledgeable about) music and figurative art. amd then oh god an then the fucking 'you'll never understand love. the broken rules, the glorious victories, the highs and lows of high-school football' bones speech but the thing is. he does. he really does. and he shows it in the most obvious blatant way

Following one of my latest posts I'll never stop my headcanon that all the hand holding, grips, etc. Between Kirk and Spock are kiss coded. Maybe not at the start, but my favorite example is the hand grip after Vejur attacks Spock's mind.
That felt so much like a lovers kiss after Spocks realizes he doesn't have to purge his feelings, and he acknowledges that one of his strongest feelings is love and is ok and he is so happy to see Jim, his T'hy'la, that he doesnt even notice McCoy on the side which makes it even better bc who else would have to endure these two making out, but McCoy? And Kirk is surprised, but reciprocates even harder. It is a kiss.
And honestly? Vulcan kissing is the best. Is subtle and is intimate and not everyone knows about it. I also like to think ppl realized what type of relationship Kirk and Spock really had when Vulcan culture knowledge becomes more known. I bet is the equivalent of reading Greek mythology and being like "wait they weren't being best friends they were being gay"

So I’ve just rewatched the space hippies episode, and in the last scene Kirk waits for Spock in that spot just to tell him this line the space hippies used. And I don’t know, the mix of Kirk’s expression, his body language and what he says looks like the most blatant flirting I’ve ever seen.

Really looking for a heterosexual explanation for that scene in into darkness after Kirk is resurrected and he’s like “Spock 😍 you saved my life 🤭🤭🤭” and bones is like “uhhhh Uhura and I helped too” but Jim just keeps looking at Spock like “😍🤭😘🥰🥰🥰”

as much as I don't like into darkness I could spend like 10 paragraphs talking about how kirk's death scene is an active, purposeful, and blatant love confession

-Remembers how T’Pring looked as she watched Spock & Chapel vanish into the bathroom together after seeing them kiss on the bridge (which she knew was for a mission and didn’t hold against them but perhaps she could sense something there since they do have feelings for one another), maybe attempting to calm herself and her suspicions as she’s left alone again (and later finds she’s been left out entirely this whole time) and how she doesn’t know that Spock almost told Chapel he loved her then and there, with T’Pring in the other room waiting, and how Amanda and Sevet both think she could have more confidence in herself and how T’Pring thought that she and Spock were in this together (her holding his hand, subtly letting him know to pour slower so the tea flowers would bloom correctly, a whispered ‘well done’, the ritual is over mother) and how mere hours after she expresses to Spock how she feels: Like he doesn’t trust her, like he doesn’t care to include her in his life, how she’s trying her best to show him that she will accept him wholly, how she wants to be his partner instead of an adversary or an obstacle, after all this he’s found Chapel within the hour and is kissing her.-
