i LOVED this episode. it's always so fun to see sayeon from the perspective of the other characters, and iseul up until this point hasn't gotten a lot of attention so it was nice to see his feelings about sayeon more in depth (also more of sayeon just being absolutely unhinged). ik a lot of ppl think isuel is secretly a psycho like the rest of his cellmates and i can see where they're coming from (i haven't completely ruled out the possibility myself), but seeing taeho actively call out iseul's naivety makes me lean more towards iseul just simply being a bit ignorant about sayeon's true nature. it could be both of course but still.

i also wanna talk about taeho for a bit bc as much as can't his draco-looking ass, he's actually kinda starting to grow on me. let's be real, if we were in taeho's position, we would also assume the absolute worst of sayeon's intentions for going to the factory alone, knowing that she's willing to do morally dubious/reckless things to advance her cell. taeho both acknowledges sayeon's manipulative nature yet underestimates her at the same time. he calls her out in episode 60 for her scheming and tells her to stay away from cell 3, but doubts that she'd be able to hold her out against a member of the begonia group. unlike cell 4 and tsubaki and jungwoo, taeho hasn't been able to witness sayeon combat abilities. and the one time she tries to fight her head on, she's saved by min. i also think his status as a member of the gyeons plays into his frustration with sayeon as well. her writes her off as unassuming and weak yet here she is rising her and her cell above his. he has a reputation to uphold as a gyeon and she's essentially making a mockery of him.

lastly, i wanna touch on min's sudden change in behavior towards sayeon. to be blunt, min hasn't really done anything significant outside of episode 62 in regards to protecting sayeon (ryujin ironically doing a better job w/o even trying or really wanting to). seeing him get mad on her behalf as taeho trash talks her was surprising. but it begs the question of if he's doing this for samin or bc he himself is starting to respect sayeon and care for her. when they fight back in s1 he says that she's weak. and in the beginning of s2, he says he doesn't know what samin sees in her. all the members of the crimson society seem to be pretty protective of samin, so it wouldn't impossible that min's annoyance is an offshoot of his feelings towards samin (caring about what she cares about). i'd like this to mean that he's starting to care sayeon but we'll have to find out later.

Alright, final hour of rap:public ep.3! (Starting @ ~1:03) Spoilers ahead as always

So we're starting back at the block breaker mission.

Not Khan coaching his member to be louder when his whole style is that he sounds like he's whispering lol (he's right, it's just funny/ironic)

They eliminate the member first before the challenge. The leaders choose 3 to do a death match/get eliminated. They have to choose before the round even happens. It sucks cause what if someome actually does amazing in the round but they still get put up because they weren't believed in prior to the mission?

Loopy confides in Khan about what the leaders were told but doesn't tell anyonr else on the team. Damn, he must feel like Khan is basically the second in command. He really trusts him!

Like kaogaii said earlier in the season, it's better to have less members towards the end so the money won't be split so many ways. But it's so early that there's no telling how many missions favor having a bigger team. Block break definitely favors having a bigger team BUT the infinite cyphere didn't. The set up of this show so far REALLY does it's best to take away any advantage a block or individual might have.

Block 8 (gamma lead) vs Block 6 (Kaogaii lead) goes first. Odomar hears Kaogaii and someone else (not sure) talking. Odomar asks to know what they are talking about so Kaogaii tells him to gain his trust. I feel like, no one can trust Kaogaii. He's already told us he has a child on the way and he is obviously navigating the game very strategically and cutthroat. Odomar still doesn't fully trust him which is smart.

My thing is...it seems like they haven't factored in Bizzy? I think they are too focused on superiority to other members of block 8 when really they should be planning on stratigizing around beating Bizzy.

Also, strategy-wise shouldn't they be trying to get rid of the hardest teams first?

Nevermind, it seems like Bizzy is struggling and Hippie Kunda is the one with lots of verses. They are underestimating her too, cause didn't SHE get the 8th most votes out of 60 rappers? Do they not remember that she beat 52 of them by their OWN votes?

Thank god for Bizzy cause he's asking questions straight up. Gamma wasn't gonna tell them I think. Drain K guesses that's it's elimination choices. Bizzy loses more faith in Gamma. I think it's really likely he'll be replaced since faith in him is lacking for 2 missions in a row. In Gamma's defense, like I said in part 2 of ep.3, they could have been more proactive in choosing the leader. They CLEARLY didn't really trust Gamma as a leader/capable rapper from the beginning. Why set him (and by extension, the whole team) up for failure if that's the case?

Ok now the 8 vs 6 mission starts. Gamma looks happy at the start. He seems faithful/confident.

She has to face Jo Gwangil. Ugh, I'd HATE that! It's clear they like him better than her.

Drain K says he's next to face Gwangil. Drain K actually does really well. I'd vote him over Gwangil this round. He's bold as hell and even gets in Gwangil Jo's face. His blunt style works for this type of battle. Beats Gwangil by 1 vote.

Wtf, Drain K is one of the best rappers on the show!! Odomar comes out and he's good but messes up. So naturally Drain will win. But even still, I think Drain would have taken it.

Block 6 already started with 1 less member and now Drain just beat TWO of some really strong members. Drain K is a really good performer. Joonie goes up. She's doing well. Her rap/performance is more interesting than his. But I think he's still the superior rapper. So joonie is beaten.

He's a great performer with lots of energy, confidence, and a loud, aggressive, authoritative type of voice BUT he's not very versatile yet. Kohway walks him backwards and then pushes him. Block 6 is resorting to entertainment tactics more so than being generally good and authentic. Like Drain K seems like he's truly like what he's portraying on stage but block 6 looks like they are panicked so they trying too hard. kohway has a nice rap and performance but I think it'd be better without the pushing.

Kohway won and apologized. Anyway, the guy from block 8(kipyo) is good too. Wait why did they underestimate this team? Maybe they just didn't remember his performance after everyone else? Maybe he did bad on round 1 but that was just him on a bad day? He won.

Next up Koala. Kipyo was better in my opiniom so I think he'll win. Kp won as expected but it was close. Currently block 8 has 6 members but block 2 only has two.

Geegooin will be hard to beat though. He's a performer and his style is so unique so it's memorable. KP goes in the audience. It comes off cool, charismatic, and not desparate. Everything he does is cool, calm, and collected. Very natural.

Idk who won. This seems close. Geegooin wins in the end.

I can tell Daniel Jikal is already nervous, intimidated. Geegooin's rap was probably the most powerful in the block breaker so far. Not looking good for Daniel since it seems he already lost the mental battle. I'd be scared as hell to go up after this Geegooin verse. I do NOT envy Daniel's position right now.

He ends up doing surprisingly well though. WHY are they dounting this team?!? Is Block 8 being doubted soley because of so many newcomers? I can't help but think people just DON'T remember their round 1! Granted, I don't either (some weren't shown in all fairness). I still think Geegooin will win but Daniel held his own better than I expected. Geegooin win.

Churry goes up and messes up but it's clear from the start he wouldn't win since he was already lacking in comparison to Geegooin. Gee got 100% of the votes.

Gamma is forced to go out. Gamma's rap is weak. His style lowkey just isn't fitted for this type of competition it seems. Gee gets 100% of votes again.

Block 6 is getting cocky AGAIN? Didn't you guys learn from that already? Leo goes out. Not bad but not enough to get Geegooin. At least gee doesn't get 100% of the votes. It comes down to Bizzy. I honestly don't have faith in him rn. Not cause of the other team but because of struggling during the practice.

It seems like Geegooin has him beat. This one just wasn't for Bizzy. Geegooin wins. And block 6 wins. But block 6 better not forget that Geegooin had to hard carry them and had Kaogaii went? He likely would have lost to one of the rappers on block 6.

It seems Leo, Daniel Jikal, or Churry will be eliminated. I think if it comes down to the death match between those 3, Leo will lose.

I'm proud of Block 6 though. They showed they aren't weak. I lowkey feel like the team with Owen is after seeing more of Block 8s members. I wonder if Block 8 would have beaten Block 4 had they not changed to Block 6 at the last minute out of spite.

Honestly, it sucks that Block 8 has Gamma as a leader because he lowkey did the worst this round. He should be the one leaving. They need to strip him of the leader title and give it to Bizzy or Drain K.

Oh this is going to be very fun to compare and contrast from my answer months ago

One aspect I adore about Shadow is his independent and aloof attitude. Sonic has the same traits, but the specific ways in which it manifests within Shadow I find particularly interesting.

Combined with his selfish tendencies, it often leads to him going off on his own without consulting the rest of his teammates. In 06 after Mephiles phase 1, where he takes off right after returning to the past because he now needs to find out who Mephiles is, In Sonic Forces: Episode Shadow, when he refuses Omega's help, stating "I'll handle things my way." In SA2 when he dips after the Finalhazard fight

He's so focused on whatever his goal is that he doesn't even think about how it affects others. It's a very interesting choice

One aspect i wish others understood about him (aside from his overall assholishness) is his bluntness. Chances are, if he says something, he means it. Literally.

It's great analysis-wise because sometimes you don't even have to guess why he's doing the things he's doing, but I think a lot of people (myself included!) underestimate how often something that sounds like it's an exaggeration or contains subtext is actually him being completely, 100% direct.

In SA2, when he says after saving Rouge "I didn't do it for you, I simply needed the chaos emeralds for my goal", he literally means that if he didn't need the chaos emeralds for his goal, he wouldn't have saved Rouge.

It's also a good example of canon evidence the hog is autistic :)

One uncommon(?) headcanon I have for Shadow is the idea that he likes to sleep outside in nature, like up in a tree or something. I got it from Jib Candyypirate and I think its neat :)

I like to think at one point he and Sonic slept in the same tree at one point bc neither saw the tree was occupied.

One person I love seeing him interact with, surprise surprise, is Sonic. Now, I get extremely squicked out when I see the two in a romantic context (which was the primary reason I had to mass unfollow even people I'm friends with), but their canon dynamic is absolutely up my alley.

Their competitive rivalry and contrasting yet fundamentally similar personalities are endlessly entertaining, and their scenes together in SA2 are so memorable I'm able to recite most of them at will.

They're something about their dynamic that's so compelling, and while I don't like seeing it I can understand why they're the most popular slash ship in the series.

One character that I wish they would interact with more in the series is Gerald Robotnik. I recently went on a deep dive into both Gerald and Maria, and discovered the Sonic Battle diary entries and hooooooooly shit.

Those last few diary entries really moved me.

It isn't even my headcanon that Gerald was forced by GUN to turn all of his creations into weapons, it's just fucken canon.

They literally state somewhere (I forget where) that Gerald was initially hesitant to accept GUN's proposal for creating an immortal creature, he eventually agreed in order to develop a cure for Maria's illness.

From Chaos Drives, Space Colony ARK, to the Gizoid, to Project Shadow, literally every single one of Gerald's projects were taken by GUN and turned into weapons.

I don't necessarily want Shadow to interact with Gerald himself, but I'd love to see his reaction to Gerald's diaries. I kinda just used this question to go on a tangent about Gerald himself because I find his descent into revenge (and GUN's massive hand in it that's downplayed in later games) to be immensely cathartic to piece together.

One headcanon I have that involves Sonic and Shadow that I've previously mentioned before but still hold onto is the hc that blue chaos cola tastes like ramune, red chaos cola tastes like cola, and Sonic and Shadow have this massive petty argument about which one is better. You bring this Convo up you will never get them to shut up about it.

Honestly, considering her last one was pretty much falling apart after years of use, he figured it was about high time she got a new one.

now this was a face she wasn't expecting. the psyncer's first sparring partner; the boy she tied with and even beat once at grade school . . now a teenager, pointedly doing his signature grumpy face even if she can't see it. the teenager can feel it and she almost stifles an amused snicker. that's so like akira, honestly.

if anyone says she has too much 'attitude' she's going to point at her friend and rival sparring partner as having more in her defense; a blurred line of consistency throughout the years they've known each other. her words are as blunt as ever; traces of amusement in the detective's voice.

" wow. well this is a surprise. i didn't even think you knew my birthday. sorry, haha. i just really got thrown a bit, y'know? book by its cover blah blah. lemme open it. " a smirk coats her mouth as she takes the offering with a small grin; despite her snark; ( it's always on the house ) , mizuki is glad akira remembered. still, getting a few jabs and teases at him just wouldn't do if she didn't, right ? now why he won't look at her well . . she knew his boundaries and he knew hers.

it's weird though; usually he met her mismatched gaze head on. just as much as he challenged and dared to go again and again against her supernatural strength. they had vastly different experiences, but the same coating of pain lay underneath. to say they 'flocked together' was an understatement, even if it was highly unlikely either of the two long time friends would admit it. much less admit they were friends . . .

" holy shit. " expletives that don't really fit a police officer escape her mouth in two words; the teenager shaking the bag once as if unable to believe her eyes. mizuki glances at it; how utterly adorable it is and how her brain thinks how much survival gear and necessities just as much. plus, it had her signature animal: the rabbit.

" . . . so you --- wait a minute -- " she isn't gasping in shock more like gaping as the brawler shakes it again, lightly, mizuki, lightly, to make sure it's remotely real. did this mean he'd noticed that she'd had a mind, albeit subconsciously, to get a new bag? she had made an off-comment of replacing her old one for various supplies and things she needed; although a swiss army knife was....not an option anymore now, was it? the fact remained. akira noticed. mizuki was far from an idiot, her intelligence advanced far beyond her classmates at an early age; and perception wasn't lost on her, with or without aiba.

her brows actually furrow in concern.

" uh, are you sick ? like, this is my birthday. and....you -- " ( actually noticed i needed something and got it for me. so i can only assume you're literally sick or hell, even dying. ) those thoughts go unspoken; knowing that he's just as capable as releasing a barrage of arrows in the shape of barbs at her right back. like ping pong ball back and forth. she blinks once, twice, owlishly, before staring at the bulk of it within her deceptively small hands. calloused from battles won and lost, from training at an early age and scuffles against bullies. hands that told stories - not all of them happy ones.

" ..... it looks pretty damn cute! didn't think you knew how to get stuff like this, so i really underestimated you. plus it'll be useful. " a smile tugs at her mouth faintly; not too wide but not too small; it's genuine; as mizuki takes a few steps to hold it up so he can see the satisfaction - and gratitude in her eyes.

" possibly sick and not himself or noooottt, i'll take it! didn't think i guess, you did this kinda thing. it's weird, sure, but it's....i really like it. so, thanks, akira. " she almost tacks on with a borderline affectionate, get well soon punk, before deciding against it; her cheeky grin and satisfied eyes gleaming telling all she needs to say.

First of all!! Loved the MoU fic update! left you a comment on AO3 and all. 10/10 ratings haha.

Secondly, moving countries is great you should try if you ever get a chance. I've always wanted to do that and jumped in on the first opportunity I got to make that dream come true, and I recgozine how lucky I am to be able to do so. It's definitely not easy but I'd do it again if I could (in true sag fashion 😎 haha). Where would you want to live? You ever been outside the UK?

Hahaha you and I in a team would be a nightmare to play against I think. Oh come on you absolutely do not deserve people questioning your intelligence! I like to play dumb in addition to the taunting so people underestimate me, they never see it coming when I win. They never see the cheating coming either, my friends are always shocked when they find out, but I do it almost every single time! 😂 I'm competitive too but I like to play it cool especially If I lose I'll be like "it's just a game calm down yall" but if I win I'm like "in your face losers!" (very mature I know).

I wanna do it as soon as I get chance but I know it's gonna be hard and that I am gonna need a bit more money behind me first but I definitely wanna do it when I can... yeah I've been out of the UK twice- one time I went to France for the weekend when I was doing my A Levels and was like 17 the college I was studying at took some of the art kids and since I was doing a photography A Level I got to go and then a couple of years ago I went to LA for a few weeks which was great but I've never been out of the UK for longer than that!! A nightmare for everyone else but it would be hilarious for us I just know it would haha... I sometimes do I have said some dumb things, I actually used one of my dumber moments as a funny little story in one of my fics- people still laugh at me now for what I said and it's been 10 years... my roommate will not let me live it down!! See surprising people that way is always brilliant like when people just expect you to lose and then you win? That's the best kind of win in my eyes!! I don't cheat at games I am just ridiculously competitive and can't stand losing unless it's something like a video game I am okay with losing those but board games I can't stand losing and I am also a terrible winner my roommate won't play games with me anymore!! I can't say anything about anyone being that kind of a winner because I know I am and one of my sister's is terrible too we literally make a song and dance over winning Oh it was so dangerous and we were so dumb to do it like anything could've happened and we both sit and look back at that and go "man we were dumb" but I also sit and go "oh my god she's gonna be a mum in like 4 months" because we've done some crazy / stupid stuff!! Because to me that's just how people talk around here haha I did enjoy your drunken story and honestly we've all been there I have had to be taken care of on more than one occasion for being too drunk like to the point of people having to help me into my pyjamas and everything I've been in some bad ways haha!! Yeah I've only had one hangover and that was after a night of drinking where I blacked out and don't remember any of the night!! Yeah the night of the drinking is always fun- the hangover isn't though and often makes you wonder if it was worth it haha She's so cool like genuinely just a cool and funny kid and she just asks all the questions about shows she's watched so with me its Bly Manor with her mum and dad it's Stranger Things she asked me about it once but I had to tell her I'd never watched it she didn't seem impressed but yeah I'll talk to her about Bly Manor any day of the week- and you too now honestly I will talk about it to anyone that will listen... I can't not watch it all if I watch it because there's just so much about it that I love even if it makes me cry... episodes 4,6, and 8 are my favourites though and are probably the ones I have watched the most!! Like seriously amazing!! I would love to see some medieval fan art for Damie!! I have been sent a few medieval prompts for Damie and I have started writing some of them but it's taking time to actually get full chapters together but once I have and once I have more time from wrapping up other WIPs I'll make a start on editing and uploading those because medieval stuff is always great!! It's been good thank so far today I went to a little beach town with my mum, 2 of my sisters their partners and two of my nieces (my cool niece was one of them… not that my other niece isn’t cool but you know what I mean) and me, my two brother in laws, and my nieces all played a game of crazy golf while my mum and sisters went to a cafe and had cups of tea... they didn't wanna play with us but we still had fun while we played (I came second which I was very happy with)!!
