I still have so many other notes from Peter Pan Goes wrong the other night, but one of my favorite things in the preshow was Trevor making fun of American accents. He was looking for the hammer and I think a little kid said something about the way he said it so he corrected himself in an American accent and then said it sounded ridiculous

it's SO funny that when asked what he had to do to prepare for his role in IWTV Sam Reid says he had to learn how to play the piano, learn to speak French, Italian, and English with a French accent. Bailey read IWTV religiously and added her own comments, and kept an actual fucking journal she wrote entirely as Claudia. meanwhile Jacob Anderson, when asked the same question, just responds with “oh nothing, i was already emo”. icons and legends only

oh also also, baghera getting increasingly french at the end of the timer was so fucking funny and i love her so much, like when her and phil fought and phil killed her and her accent thickened until she abandoned words and made french noises CHEF'S KISS reminds me of when she played outlast w cellbit slime and jaiden and got progressively more french as the night wore on, genuinely had a blast hearing her progressively dropping more and more swears in french

also reminds me of something i THINK i remember, think it was her who said during brazil she kept accidentally speaking french to people because of how close she felt to them

this can be because you liked all the starters a lot, or wasnt into any of them for a gen, or whatever other reason.

if you get multiple games in a gen/replay games and choose different starters for each game/playthrough, then you can take into consideration if you had any difficulty deciding who youd have as a starter on your first playthrough.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Oh wow. This is a dangerous question, haha!

‘Despise' is a pretty strong word. I feel like the one thing I really can't stand is character assassination (although this is true for every character I like, to be honest). I'm not the authority on what makes Blanche Blanche, of course, but I have seen a few instances when it felt like people only saw the superficial parts of her and forgot about everything else, you know what I mean? Thankfully that's pretty rare around these parts though :)

There's one thing that's more specifically Blanche-related that's a pet-peeve of mine, and it’s the accent thing. I don't really like it when accents are explicitly written down in fanfic, and since Blanche is the one with the strongest accent in the cast, this happens to her sometimes. I just want to point out that this is not wrong per se, it's just a me thing! I prefer to 'hear’ the accent in my mind while I read — if I have to stop and parse the meaning of a sentence mid-action, it's harder for me to fully immerse myself in the story. I don't mind the occasional truncation of a 'g' at the end of a verb, or the odd 'y'all' in a phrase, but if every sentence is written like that it does get a bit hard for me 😅 once again though, this is just my personal preference, and I definitely don't despise the practice.

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

I'm actually not sure how to answer this! If we didn't know each other at all, I think we'd need to be in a situation where we have to spend some time together in order to become friends (like, idk, working together or something like that). We don't share lots of interests (appreciation for art aside), and her passion for men would definitely throw me off at the beginning, so I'd need a reason to spend time with her to get to know her! But we are more similar than we seem, so once I did get to know her better, I'd love to be her friend :) we'd probably drive each other crazy on some things, but I need someone to get me out of my comfort zone at times, and she'd probably benefit from having a more 'grounded' friend, in the same way she benefits from having Dorothy as a friend.

... of course, this is all assuming that she'd want to be my friend in the first place, which is not a given 😂 I'm probably not interesting or fun enough to convince her to give me a chance, but a gal can dream, you know?

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Just one? :')

I've said it before on here, but I headcanon that she's a cover hog. It just makes sense to me! And, still related to sleep, I feel like this is basically canon, but she's a night owl. She's more active during the night, she sleeps in, and it takes her a while to wake up in the mornings.

She actually is knowledgeable about art -- but not necessarily about artists! I think she likely doesn't have a lot of formal education about art (and especially art history), and even if she did study anything related to it she doesn't strike me as an exceptional student overall, but she has a natural instinct for visual beauty -- she's great at things like recognizing which paintings were made with similar techniques or within the same artistic current, distinguishing the traits and characteristics of painters, identifying specific shades of colour, this kind of stuff. Show her a painting and she'll correctly tell you that it's a Van Gogh, how he painted it, the precise shades of colour he chose and why he chose them -- but she also doesn't know that he cut off his ear, you know?

She was a bit of a reckless driver, especially in her youth -- the kind who likes to hit the gas just a tad too much, who plays the music just a tad too loud. She likes acting larger than life, she likes having fun, and she likes attention, so this feels appropriate for her. I figure it probably wasn't noticeable because she rarely drove herself (she always had a gentleman at her side to drive her around), but she never really grew out of that particular trait -- until George's death. After that, I think any imprudence behind the wheel would evoke his accident in her mind, so by the time the Girls met her she had turned into a very conscientious driver.

finished The City We Became last night! I ended up finishing it on my own, as I usually do with audiobooks, because I HAD to know the ending RIGHT NOW and I couldn't take the audio in fast enough lol

still might listen to the last 20% though because I want to know how they performed some of those lines. The audio was SO good yall SO. GOOD. Like I Might Buy A Copy, good. Which I haven't felt the urge to do since Middlegame, and this was worlds better. Though, now that I think of it, Amina would also be fun to have....REGARDLESS! IT WAS GOOD IT WAS FUN I ENJOYED IT!

I do think I nerfed myself a bit by reading The Fifth Season first, because now every Jemisin I read I compare to that and that trilogy was *chefs kiss* perfection. So, no, I didn't enjoy this as much as The Fifth Season but I still really enjoyed it! I think Fifth Season had more in depth world building, but City had a quicker pace and more humor which I really liked. I am looking forward to book two, but not so much knowing COVID plays a role in at least the creating of it. But come on, we canNOT end there lol

coming back from tahg rambling to add THE NARRATOR DID EVERYONES ACCENTS like okay listening to it was so easy but i noticed when i read it i had trouble differentiating characters for some reason? and i realised its because everyones voice and accent was so distinct in the audio that i lost that when reading it myself it was so wild like i already appreciated the narrator but reading it on my own made me realise just HOW good she was!!!! absolutely amazing

I've been wondering this for a bit: For your username, are we crushing on the doves or are we physically crushing the doves?

we’re doing neither but physically crushing them is closer. my username is from a specific translation of ‘ode with a lament’ by pablo neruda, where they interpreted ‘presión’ as ‘crush’ to describe a group of doves - thus, crushofdoves was born.

the poem is included in the collection ‘Residencia en la tierra’ and the printing that i have with that translation is the 1973 edition!

tbh i picked this username when i wasn’t expecting to spend more than a month or two fixated in this fandom and here i am over a year later wondering if i should change it, or if it’s too late now and i’m stuck with it.

Dick would try to manipulate Jason through sex and He'd start sucking him off and lose all his resolves to do anything else. Dick' sex-addled mind wouldn't let him think of anything other than the pleasure he is feeling, a pleasure he has been denied for so long, either by circumstances or by his own self. Jason feels crazy in his mouth, Dick sucks him like his life depends on it, and in return Jason is slowly losing his very measured control He is finally having Dick wanting him in someway. Jason forces Dick of himself so as not to spend in Dick's throat, which only serves to agitate Dick more. Dick straddles Jason, willing to ride him, He looks down at Jason's face, looks into his eyes and is met with pure devotion in those steely teal eyes and what more? Love. Love? Love!? After everything! Dick slaps him, losing control for a moment, and Jason raturn to look at his heaving form, his eyes almost worshipful. "You can beat me while I am inside you", "I don't mind" says Jason "Yous sick fuck" "After everything, after all the shit you made go through, after all the manipulation and lies. You till have it in you to look into my eyes and talk bullshit" roars Dick. "Didn't you satisfies your curiosity enough already. Huh? At some point Dick starts crying. His emotions finally getting the best of him "I hate it" Jason halts "I hate how after all that you took from me" "That I still love you"
