So I'm going to post about an ongoing project of mine even though it's probably a bit premature. I call it the Princess Paper Doll project although it involves a fair number of not princesses. It technically started as the Disney Princess Paper Doll project but it stopped being Disney about ten minutes after I conceived the idea. Anyway, it's gonna be a long one so if you're at all curious it's under the cut.
About a decade ago now (I think) my mom bought a set of Disney Princess paper dolls for my niece. This delighted me, first because I had Disney paper dolls as a kid, and second because of a unique feature of this particular set.
See, in this set, all of the princesses were in the same pose. Like so:
Tumblr media
And I immediately thought that was pretty cool because they could all wear each other's clothes. I also thought that because they were all posed the same and they could therefore all wear each other's clothes, it would be fairly easy (for a moderately savvy artist) to copy the base and add other characters to the lineup and even if it took longer to make their outfits, they wouldn't have to be naked in their underwear. The Princess and the Frog being the last movie that Disney had released at the time and my niece being from New Orleans and some of her family being kinda grossly racist I decided to begin with Tiana:
Tumblr media
However, the more observant among you may notice, as I did not for a while, that they cannot all wear each other's clothes. Tiana here, along with half of the other princesses, is wearing a wide skirt. So none of them can wear anything designed for Jasmine. Also, the set kind of sucks so Aurora up there can't even keep one of her own dresses on, there are just not enough tabs to defy gravity.
So I started over with a new base and tried again.
Tumblr media
I worked on that long enough to get most of the bases for the Disney Princesses done, decided I didn't like the pose, I think, and set it aside.
Time for version 3.
Tumblr media
I apparently did not get very far with this one. I only made 4 bases this time (Anna, Ariel, Pocahontas, and Mulan). But I made an entire dress for Anna (her coronation gown) and all of the outfits for Mulan. Then I started drawing clothes for Pocahontas and realized that I'd made a terrible mistake. See, Pocahontas, in the sequel, wears a ballgown and full cage crinolin and they weren't going to get along with that hand on the hip. So time to try again.
Version 4 is where I start gaining some consistency. The model here is mostly what I stick with going forward and I made some pretty good progress.
Tumblr media
I did eventually scrap this one too, because I was having trouble navigating some of the skirts on the wide stance as evidenced by Charlotte (I do not profess to be a master artist).
So version 5.
Tumblr media
You'll note that aside from Chel they are all only in Kida's underwear and that's because I decided fairly quickly into the clothing process that these ladies were too damn skinny. I'm not actually sure why they got so much skinnier from v4 to v5 but it had to go.
Version 6. Actually, I'm going to skip version 6 entirely here. It is identical to version 7 (the current version) except that I decided their busts were a little too big to accommodate everyone (and even the ones it seemed to accommodate looked better with the adjustment). Luckily this is the point where I started using Illustrator for the lineart so it was fairly easy to make the adjustment on the wealth of clothes I had already finished in v6. Anyway, now I've made most of the bases I have planned and at least one outfit for each (except Rapunzel because there is soooo much detail that after I did the rough sketch I was not prepared to do the clean lines). I started experimenting with how to make the different hairstyles work with Belle and Anastasia (why those two? who knows) so they have all of their hairstyles to go with their bases, and Tiana and Pocahontas have all of their clothes (and almost all Tiana's hair, though I haven't fixed it for actual interchangeability when printed).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These do have tabs, by the way, they're just hidden unless I'm running a test print to make sure they work.
Now, full disclosure I mostly traced their heads from screencaps. I am not sufficiently versed in animated women that I can confidently draw all of those faces. I drew the base and I'm drawing the clothes.
Nothing is shaded partly because I'm not great at shading and partly because I've learned the hard way that it sucks to do all the shading and then make a minor adjustment and have to do it all over again.
Also I say Tiana has most of her hair because I want to include her Wreck-It-Wralph 2 hair (you'll note the outfit is there) but I am shit at drawing hair in general and worse at drawing curly hair (you'll note Merrida) and I can't find any 2d art of her with that hairstyle that I can use either to trace or as reference.
Incidentally, as much as possible I am trying to make each piece separate so the aprons come off of the Duke's and Cal's diner dresses for Tiana, Anna, Ariel, and Aurora are wearing a blouse, skirt and corset, so on and so forth. It allows for a lot more mixing and matching and it creates a more 3d effect that's kind of neat.
The full list, in case you can't recognize everyone or read their name on the base is: Anastasia (Anastasia), Anna (Frozen), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Charlotte (The Princess and the Frog), Chel (The Road to El Dorado), Cinderella (Cinderella), Elsa (Frozen), Esmeralda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Giselle (Enchanted), Jane (Tarzan), Jasmine (Aladdin), Kayley (Quest for Camelot), Kidagakash (Atlantis), Marina (Sinbad), Megara (Hercules), Merrida (Brave), Moana (Moana), Mulan (Mulan), Nani (Lilo & Stitch), Odette (The Swan Princess), Pocahontas (Pocahontas), Rapunzel (Tangled), Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), Thumbelina (Thumbelina), and Tiana (The Princess and the Frog).
I'm planning on adding Amalthea (Last Unicorn) at some point. I also keep waffling about Mirriam and Tzipporah (Prince of Egypt) because they are awesome animated women who deserve to be included but also I am not Jewish and I worry it's disrespectful somehow (although Pocahontas is in there so that ship's kinda sailed, hasn't it?). I'll probably try to add Mirabel (Encanto) eventually. I ought to add Nancy (Enchanted), but that's still a big question mark. In the theoretical grand plan I'm going to do the fellas eventually to, though that may be a bit more complicated. I'm also open to suggestions. However, I'm probably gonna try to get more of these ladies finished before I add to the roster.
By the way, do not come on this post to complain about women's body types in animation. This is for fun. I'm having fun with it. I worked really hard to make this work at all. Just don't.

The "Stiff Pose" Valley
Monday 26/12/22
Tumblr media
So although I didn't do a lot of art this year, I wanna take a chance to congratulate myself on improving my artistic abilities this year. 2022 marks the third year I've been playing D&D. As discussed in an earlier post on this blog, the beginning of my D&D hobby coincided with/resulted in a increased frequency of drawing.
And when I started posting my own art online, I also started regularly following other artists online, and over the years, I've noticed them grow. I've noticed a pattern, particularly in character artists, where different aspects of their art will improve at different rates. This is most noticeable in artist's ability to pose characters. I don't wanna attack other artists by drawing attention to art they may not be as fond of anymore, so I'll use my own art as an example.
Beginner artists may not be great at faces or anatomy, but the first thing they attempt to improve on is posing. The anatomy may not have been fantastic, but the characters are not as stiff. But then there comes a phase when the artist improves on the fundamentals of art, improving on facial features and actual body proportions. But at this stage, the poses become... more bland? There comes a stiffness to their characters. The focus on making the characters looked like better proportioned means the artist mellows on posing. I can't pose these arms and legs until I know how to draw arms and legs.
In a similar trend to the uncanny valley, I will declare The "Stiff Pose" Valley. Artists will reach a point in the artistic journey where the art may be technically and visually more impressive than their old art, but less... fun? I found this easy to study in my artwork of one of first D&D characters, Nevaeh.
Tumblr media
You can see in the above collage, in arts 1, 2, and 3, I was doing quite boring poses, almost default/t-posing. But when you get to arts 4 and 5, the character may not actually be more visually impressive, but the poses are more dynamic and "fun". At the point of artworks 7 and 8, my art "quality" had improved, the lineart was cleaner, the faces were more pleasant. But more recently, I feel like I've been a bit better with posing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Artwork 9 was based on and inspired by this chapter art from the One Punch Man manga, but I do wanna say it was more fun than many of my chapter arts previously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Artwork 10 was less of a direct copying of a pose, and more of an inspiration. At this point, I'd established that Nevaeh was a villain aiming for lichdom, so drew inspiration from the D&D lich Acererak. And I feel like although I haven't reached the fun-ness of the poses in the above 4 and 5 artworks, I feel like I could get there again soon.
Tumblr media
The revelation of this process was brought to my attention in my own art recently when I posted my 2022 end of year D&D artwork, where I feel, not only does my art look higher quality than the 2021 art, but the poses were also significantly more fun. And then I looked back and discovered the poses were also more fun in the 2020 art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Conclusion
So the point of this post is twofold. I have noticed that other artists I've followed who have gained artistic highs have gone through this journey. And this is also a sign to myself that I've started to crawl out of the Stiff-Pose Valley. I'm on an upward trend, and I can only keep improving.
If you're going through your own artistic struggle and blocks, just keep practising! You might reach your own Stiff-Pose Valley or other specific walls where you think you're not improving, but keep at it. You'll claw your way out of those holes and come out of it a better artist.

It's been a long road, but I finally finished this... Been excited (and super nervous) about sharing this FC I thought up some years ago when I first got seriously into the TMNT franchise.
This is Roxanne (no official surname yet as I'm still working out a few things for the story but have toyed around with a few) created for the 2003 series' storyline set two years after the events of the Turtles Forever movie. (Some may argue it's not really canon, but eh?)
Speaking of her story, I don't want to give too much info away at this stage since it's in early development and things are bound to change, but it will be a fanfic centred around a blossoming, friends-to-more-than-friends romance -with some action sprinkled in here and there cause c'mon, it's TMNT, and I do try to keep true to canon (for the most part)- and y'all can take a wild guess as to who she'll eventually be paired with. ;)
I haven't a clue when I'll actually start the fic, but I do want to put things into motion cause I'm getting ancient, so even if there isn't writing, there will be some art uploaded every now and then, and not just in regards to this but other general TMNT related art.
As for this piece, I tried to recreate the character reference sheets that the animators made for the series (you can find them online :) ) as best I could, though it's not perfect of course, and I'm honestly not sure if I'm fully satisfied with the result when it comes to the proportions and overall style (plus I think the lineart isn't the correct thickness). This may be controversial amongst the fans, but my fav art style of the series is actually Back to the Sewer (BTTS), hence why I've chosen to draw my girl like this and how I envision the story. I honestly do love all the styles, but BTTS is just the most visually appealing to me (it's the eyes ;P ). That being said, it wasn't easy to replicate and I'm not certain I actually did it justice but I also worked on this way too long, so consider it a first attempt and I may just redraw her at a later stage since I do want to use the main base to showcase different outfits so it has to be right. I'm also a dumb-dumb since all the official characters are posed in such a way to show all the details of their clothing and such, but no~oo, I had to be different and try to display more of her personality in the chosen pose (plus I was already halfway done with it when I noticed this) so now you can't see that her jeans have a seam down the legs... x(
Just some extra info about her: She's 22, about 5'1'', and works as a veterinarian assistant. I wouldn't say her occupation is of major importance, but it does play a role in how she meets the Turtles... well, one of them anyway.
I'll stop rambling now cause this is getting long and all over the place. Glad to be able to finally share her with you guys and hope you find her to look okay so far. Hehe~ I shall be trying to draw her boss and co-worker soon if all goes well. 'Til next time~

Hi! Sorry if this is personal, feel free not to answer, but do you think your tattoo experience differs from the norm because of EDS?
Okay normally I don't like to talk about my condition because it's personal so no reblogs on this, but this is something I really want to address in case anyone with EDS who is considering getting a tattoo reads this.
You have to warn your tattoo artist, but no. My skin is stretchier than the average person's, so I always go into a tattoo warning the artist "Hey, my skin is more elastic than average and I might bleed a bit more, but it's no big deal, just be careful with stretching it". Given that warning, I've never had any problems.
You absolutely have to make sure you have a skilled artist (my first tattoo is my least favourite because the lines aren't the cleanest, and I attribute that to the artist, because I have others with perfectly clean and more complex lines done by others) but you should be doing that anyway. It's just more critical if you have EDS, so it means more time researching and also more expense to pay someone with the skills.
I also warn them I might get faint, but that I've brought candy and will just need to pause to re-up my blood sugar in that case (because of the POTS). Basically, make sure you bring a water bottle, eat a good meal and drink plenty of water beforehand, and then drink water and up your blood sugar throughout and afterwards and you should be fine.
Anyone who says you can't do, hm, just about anything because of EDS is full of shit. I had a surgeon tell me she would never operate on me because of EDS. Two years later, I had top surgery with a different doctor and had a great recovery. There are things that I can't do because of my EDS, but EDS as a condition does not stop everyone with it from getting or doing anything, that's down to your personal health.
I've heard some people say the colour/lines bleed a bit more on their tattoos and they've attributed that to EDS, but I haven't experienced that, so who know. It's just something to be aware of. I've noticed exactly 0 colour bleeding or fading (all my tattoos still look like they're only a few weeks old to me, but they are all lineart and the oldest is only five years old) which is something that I've attributed to the EDS (we tend to visually age more slowly due to the collagen stuff, so it makes sense to me that my tattoos are more preserved too). In particular, my black lineart is still black - it hasn't taken on a blue or green tinge, like black ink is known to do with age. I only have one colour lineart tattoo, and it's only six months old, but that tattoo artist even warned me the colours I chose wouldn't pop well and I think they look gorgeous and standout.
Yes, some of my tattoos are raised (scarring means that when you run your fingers over them you can feel the raised lines of the design, even if you can't see it), but I knew they would be when I went in and that can happen to any/everyone. My largest tattoo in particular is raised to the touch, but I think all of them look beautiful.
In short, the steps may be a bit different and I have more to consider, but I think my tattoos are just as beautiful as they would be if I didn't have EDS, and the only barrier to getting them is finding a skilled enough artist to handle my skin's unique qualities.

A totally self indulgent compilation of my favorite works on this blog of the year June 13, 2019 - June 13, 2020
I wanted to do this for the blog's first anniversary but then completely forgot about it lol.
The following lists are all in chronological order according to the date each post was first published.
Top 10 panel edits:
Tumblr media
#1: Don and Gilda - Chapter 138: Demon serch (1)
Date: Jun 14th, 2019
Time: ~ 1:30 h
My very first redraw from my very first edit posted here, so it deserves an honorable mention. Back then I was young and inexperienced, I didn't even apply a gray filter (lmao I was so unskilled I even unintentionally scratched the picture, I hadn't realized until today). I'm actually very happy my first redraw was of Don, boy deserves all the love.
Tumblr media
#2: Emma and Ray - Chapter 140: I’m Here!
Date: Jun 28th, 2019
Time: ~ 1 h
Back then this looked like so much work to me!!! And to this day, I think it turned out pretty well. I'm particularly proud of how the bow turned out. This is one I was really proud of right after having finished it; it gave me the confidence to try redrawing bigger areas. Also, the edit were I first applied the opacity of layer / opacity of brush for the gray filter that would have stuck with me.
Tumblr media
#3: Krone's birthday edit
Date: Jul 15th, 2019
Time: 15 mins
I don't know I just really like how Krone's hair vanish to a more sketch-like style here– and consequently, how I managed to replicate such effect. I think Krone's beautiful.
Tumblr media
#4: Emma, Norman and Ray - Chapter 153: Coward
Date: Oct 4th, 2019
Time: 4:07 h (and 67 layers lmao)
Probably the single panel redraw I'm the most proud of. That Norman panel was beautiful and very poignant at the end of a chapter I adored, so I believe it deserved all the time I've spent working on it. It's far from being perfect - the back of his head is too plain, and the difference between my brushes and the original brushes is pretty visible - but I still like it very much and am extremely attached to it. The horn looks kinda big but I honestly believe it to be more of an issue with the original than with what I had redrawn lol. Funny enough, the whole picture didn't make it to the final edit and had to be trimmed.
Tumblr media
#5: Full Score Trio - Chapter 154: A Breakthrough
Date: Oct 11th, 2019
Time: 29 mins
I don't have a particular reason for this I just think Emma's hair turned out amazing. It took just half an hour and I didn't even use references like. Wow. @Redrawing skills where did you go please come back
Tumblr media
#6: Mujika and Queen Legravalima - Chapter 158: The Reason I Was Born
Date: Nov 17th, 2019
Time: 2:09 h
Sis I love this so freaking much. The shift from redrawing almost exclusively people and clothes to redrawing this mess was so fun and refreshing. Even though it's a mess I think it turned out very clean and overall it looks beautiful? I remember after finishing this I felt so powerful, like now that I had redrawn this thing I would have been able to redraw anything I set my mind on lol.
Tumblr media
#7: Emma - Chapter 161: Never Be Alone
Date: Dec 13th, 2019
Time: 57 mins
Again no particular reason except this is a very cute Emma and I think the redraw turned out pretty well. There's this big lock on the left that doesn't make a lot of sense but overall I really like it. Cute Emma is cute, and I love her determination.
Tumblr media
#8: Emma - Chapter 166: Going Back Home
Date: Mar 9th, 2020
Time: 3:45 h
I'M SO FREAKING PROUD OF THAT RIFFLE I have not the slightlest idea why this took so damn long BUT I'M SO PROUD OF IT
Tumblr media
#9: Norman's birthday edit
Date: Mar 21st, 2020
Time: 1:04 h
This is cool! I didn't know I could manage to draw this, but I did it! The feathers were particularly hard to clean but I think they turned out fine.
Tumblr media
#10: Full Score Trio - Chapter 174: A New World (part 1)
Date: Apr 6th, 2020
Time: 2:11 h
I just think they're very pretty? I can't understand if I like Ray's face a lot, or not at all, but I think overall there was a lot to redraw and it turned out pretty cute! Sorry Gillian.
(Also insert pretty much every panel from the chapter 177 Isabella edit– I've spent so many hours on basically every panel there's no way I could choose only one).
Top 5 edits as whole:
#1: Emma and Ray - Chapter 140: I’m Here!
Date: Jun 29th, 2019
Complessive time: 2:57+ h
The very first edit I'm actually proud of; I'm really attached to it. It's the first edit I had put all of my effort into, and I remember feeling anxious people would have left it without notes. It kinda feels weird to think about it now, because I really don't care about notes anymore; yet, it somehow makes me happy to think that past-me wasn't let down. Thank you @neverlandstrio for your support, you may not remember but it really meant a lot to me back then! And it still makes me smile. You're the best!!!!!!
#2: Mujika and Queen Legravalima - Chapter 158: The Reason I Was Born
Date: Nov 20th, 2019
Complessive time: 7:12+ hours
This whole edit was an hella wild ride. It's midnight before a school day, when I think: "Mh, it's been a while since I last made an edit, why not make one about Musica and the queen from the last chapter?" And seven hours after this was born. I'm particularly proud of the queen's redraws on the 3rd, 7th and 9th picture (ofc), the areas which have been redrawn are pretty huge yet I think the difference with the original is almost impossible to notice?? @Redrawing skills where did you go please come back (part 2)
#3: Emma - Chapter 174: A New World (part 1)
Date: Apr 12th, 2020
Complessive time: 6:53+ h
I think the panels that were selected work very well together, especially considering the close-up / full body alternation. I love Emma, and I've always been kinda sad noticing that edits that focus one her take the less notes... She deserves all the love. Also, fun fact: for the last but one panel, I had redrawn Emma's whole left ear before remembering she doesn't have one, so I had to redraw the panel from the start. Besides from the error with the ear, the reason why this (and all the others after) took so long is because official panel take way longer to clean.
#4: Isabella and her children - Chapter 177: Mother
Date: May 22nd, 2020
Complessive time: 13:41+ h (ahah.)
Lmao tbh I can't understand how this has so few notes it's like. Technically speaking, probably the best edit I've ever done. I don't even like Isabella that much, I haven't got the slightlest idea why I decided to spend so many hours on this. Anyway, I find the composition (full body on the left / headshots on the right) really good looking in this as well! And I think the redraws turned out fine, especially Isabella's.
#5: The Promised Neverland manga ending countdown→ 1/7 chapters: chapter 1 - Grace Field House
Date: Jun 9th, 2020
Complessive time: 1:59+ h
I don't know how I came up with that idea for the composition but I find it really beautiful??? I think it does a pretty good job conveying the sudden, terrific shift of atmosphere from the first chapter, and I think that sharp bridge is very nice. I'm very, very proud of this.
Honorable mention #1: Full Score Trio - Chapter 154: A Breakthrough
Date: Oct 13th, 2019
Complessive time: 3:44+ h (+ 1:13 h of working on a panel that ultimately didn't make it to the final edit)
A very good chapter, and the edit turned out surprisingly amazing??? All the redraws look great and make it almost impossible to distinguish them from the original; honestly I feel like I'll never be able to redraw so neatly again lol.
Honorable mention #2: Don and Gilda (+ Norman) - Chapter 160: Shackles
Date: Dec 11th, 2019
Complessive time: 3:14+ h
That one is really one of my favorite scenes; I'm telling you peoples, Gilda and Don are a blessing to the earth. I think I've never mentioned it, but Gilda's hair is a nightmare to redraw??? More specifically, it takes me h o u r s to fill the texture without making it look too weird, it's the worst.
Honorable mention #3: Norman and Ray - Chapter 179: Compensation
Date: Jun 6th, 2020
Complessive time: 4:16+ h
I was so glad to finally be able to make a Norman / Ray edit, and it turned out it was just in time before the series' finale. I like how it turned out and I'm pretty satisfied with the redraws (even though my sister helped me with the lineart of some panels - it was exams time and I really couldn't afford to spend more time on it), too bad we didn't have more chapters that focused on the boys. Ray sweetie one day I'll fix your ear it's just today's not that day.
Btw, I justed realized I have never done an Emma / Norman centered edit? I'll have to make one eventually. I remember considering focusing on them alone for the chapter 154 one, but then I thought "even if the manga is gonna ignore Ray, I will chose to do not" lol.
Top 5 long posts:
#1: Reconstruction of how the Grace Field children were settled in the three bedrooms
Date: Aug 28th, 2019
I just had really a lot of fun doing it. I love putting all the little things to their own place, it's so calming to do and that's why I love making this kind of things. Also, loved how @temporoom contributed to the post! It was so nice of them to add what they had noticed to come up with more exact conclusions, that's one of the things I love the most about the internet.
#2: A study of how many times the characters of The Promised Neverland call each other through the first season of the anime
Date: Sep 10th, 2019
I REALLY LOVE IT! I mean it *was* kinda stressing to note everything, but it was very also very satisfying to see everything methodically divided and organized! And it's not just that– it's also the fact that it looks good. That's one post I have fun rereading because it's actually pretty! Also, even though it can be very stressing to learn to use new programs and sites, it's always very satisfying to look at the final result. Again, I really adore compiling these tiny little details! I would love to make more posts of that kind if i had the time.
#3: The Promised Neverland musicals headcanons
Date: Oct 27th, 2019
I mean it's literally. Putting my two favorite fandoms together how could I not love it. This is another one I really enjoy rereading, I find all the musical / character associations so fitting! I really want to make a second part, I hope to find some time to do it.
#4: Considerations on the reward / eventual series' finales (and Emma's sacrifice)
Date: May 7th, 2020
It's always nice to put down all your thoughts regarding a particular matter. It can take a lot of time (at least for me it does because... I need time to think about things), but it's so satisfying to see all of them there once you're done. Bonus points when, like in this case, it was something asked by someone else because “Wow! Somebody wants to hear my opinion on this subject! I'm flattered (◍•ᴗ•◍)”
#5: Some other considerations on the series' finale and Emma sacrificing herself
Date: Jun 13th, 2020
Pretty much the same as above. It's like some kind of clarity when the post is done and signed. Another fun fact, I had to censore the post a lot; the first version was extremely sharp and harsh, but I believe it's right to express your opinions calmly and politely.
Bonus: A thread of what the tpn characters would wear at the Oscars
Date: Feb 9th, 2020
Imagining all the children in those pretty dresses makes me so incredibly happy (╥﹏╥) I go back to look at that post a lot. I really love red carpets, I love looking at pretty dresses!!!!!
Lmao it's so funny how the post of mine I like the most are also the ones with the less notes
Anyway this was just a personal report! You don't have to read it all (or any of it actually). But it was indeed fun making it! Here's to many more months in the fandom!!!

TLDR IN CASE YOU DON'T WANNA READ ALL THIS WALL OF TEXT:
Because of a lack of motivation,I will no longer have a 'post daily' schedule or even an schedule at all. I will write requests when I am truly eager to do so. Since I won't spend much time on tumblr, if you want to chat you can dm me and I will give you my discord.I am also looking for rp partners (mostly Berserk or JJBA but I'm willing to do other stuff).I am truly sorry for being selfish.
Time to be honest with you all:
I know this is going to sound selfish and self-entitled but I'm losing motivation to write because of the lack of interaction. I know an author shouldn't be in it for the notes but it's discouraging to have 1.000+ followers and get way less notes than you did months ago
And the notes I get are always likes,no reblogs or comments.I only ever get non request asks from mutuals/friends.Also,it feels upsetting as hell when I say requests are closed and yet people still send them (I know you may have not noticed, that's fine, but when it happens so many times I just get the feeling that people don't care and assume I will do it anyways) or when I say I have 80+ asks in the box and people constantly go "when are you gonna answer mine?".It's fine to be curious/excited and ask once, but it gets tiring when the same person asks it more than three times. Please understand I have other hobbies besides fan fiction and I'm a busy person.
I started writing because I wanted to make people as happy as other writers make me. But if a few people just double tab and keep scrolling, it really fulfilling?
I always hope my requests make someone happy but when I see none of them really get attention,I can't help but think I could have used my time better. For those of you who don't know I have always loved to write non fandom stuff and do horror stuff and the like. But sometimes I create fandoms OCS and write out stuff for them. I also doodle and completely adore videogames. I used to be enthusiastic about roleplaying but I no longer have the time because I want to post often.
Whenever I wake up to little to no notfs that are 95% likes I can't help but think "In the time I spent writing that I could have played League of legends/ finished that horror story I never get the time to finish/colored the lineart I did yesterday/played dark souls or fighting games with friends/replied to all the rps I haven't touched in weeks bc of a lack of time/watched anime." Because honestly it feels like my efforts are worthless.
I just think "I spent all that time writing romantic stuff for a character I don't even have a crush on/a pairing I don't even ship and it made nobody feel better,so why the hell shouldn't I just do my own thing,so at least I can make one person happy, myself?"
Aside from that,I love Jojo,I really do but only 1 asks out of a 50 aren't JJBA and it gets a bit boring. My main fandom is Berserk actually, not Jojo.
I won't give up writing bc I have made good friends here and I hope I'm making at least ONE person happy but I will no longer attempt to post daily.I will write requests whenever I feel like it.Sometimes I may post daily a few days in a row, sometimes I will post once a week, who knows?Depends on how eager I am.
If you wish to remain in contact with me you can have my discord. Also, since I will have more free time now,I'm quite open to start rping again so if that's your thing hmu.

1. Favorite drawing from this year? Probably this one
2. least favorite drawing from this year? I think I've made some of the best drawings I've ever done just this year and have noticed an immense improvement even just over last year but that doesn't mean I haven't had a few blunders.
Tumblr media
From a distance, it looks alright (since it was my prof pic, it was fine) but man is that rough up close. I wanted it to look metallic but it just...isn't.
3. first drawing from this year? It's tough because it's not the first one I posted here. I actually had the sketch done for a long time but only finished it this January. Here>
4. favorite character you've drawn? Strelitzia
5. favorite little detail in a drawing you did? I added an Easter egg from every world that appears in the first KH. I might not be proud of the drawing but I'm proud of that.
6. longest a drawing has taken to finish? Idk, I have no proof. I know that one took a while though ^^^
7. most popular drawing? Of this year, it's this
8. underrated drawing you did? It's actually this most recent one that sticks out in my mind. I think it's mainly because of the tumblr messing up the tags thing though (that and I posted it on an odd date but I couldn't wait!)
9. any new art mediums you've tried (or overall styles if you haven't tried new mediums)? Yes actually, I hate doing black and white for inktober but I started doing a little bit of a greyscale and it turned out decent. (Here's an ex.!) that stemmed from seeing how good chachacharlieco's art turned out even when in that form.
10. favorite art medium? Don't have one, I explore a lot.
11. artist(s) that influenced/inspired your art style? Already mentioned Charlie, but I think a lot of my stuff varies because I never stick to one thing
12. fandom you've drawn the most for? Kingdom Hearts, I don't even have to look.
13. favorite fandom to make fanart of? ^^^^
14. how many drawings did you complete this year? 55? That's how many jpegs I counted in my folder but there're definitely more somewhere.
15. any upcoming planned drawings? I always have WIPs which is part of why that number above is so low, so of course but it's just a matter of whether I finish them or not...
16. favorite piece of art from someone else (if you have one)? There's an old painting that I saw that I've been searching for but can't find again but as for this year, I'll give you three: One, Two-hoo, Three
17. favorite oc/sona drawing? my favorite new OC this year is probably my lightbulb man. I want to make a figure of him so much!
Tumblr media
18. any art events you've participated in? Not recently, though I was apart of Heroes of Dragonstone a few years ago
19. any collabs you've done/would want to do? I'm down for any collabs. This is the most recent one. Which isn't great but I made in on a time limit so...
20. what do you think you've improved on the most over the past year? This bleeds into last year but I've been getting more ambitious with posing. I'd do a lot of putting hands behind backs and cropping out legs but I made an a sort of animatic video that worked well as training. I did a lot of tracing for it in order to get everything down.
21. what do you want to work on the most next? I kind of take it as I go. I suppose backgrounds are a current weakspot.
22. what are you best at drawing/doing (ex: you're good at lineart, or drawings hands, etc.)? I think I do good with pencil drawing but then gets too easy to muck it up when I try to get detailed. I do A LOT of monkey sketches to warm up, (I don't normally show them though) it's a lot of fun though just to see how varied I can make their designs.
23. favorite pose you've drawn? Maybe-
Tumblr media
24. what do you like most about your art style? It's Cartoony. I excel in animals but when I want it to be anime inspired, it's difficult to overcome.
25. best advice you've received this year or something new you learned about art. When I learn something, I usually do it over and over again in all my drawings so I saw this video of someone showing how you use the watercolor tool and paint and then color over then blend then do it all over again, can't find the video again for some reason though.
