Hi-Hi! Hello!

I'm Estee Barnes. I'm a writer and self-taught traditional and digital artist. I love to make my own stories and worlds. I'm not so much of a fandom person, so there will be less fandom posting here. I still call my characters my OCs, even if the abbreviation has that fandom connotation. It's just easier.

(I have no problem with fandom either. It's just not what I usually dabble in!)

My sideblogs love to glitch out and not show up when I @ them. You may have to manually search for them! Please let me know if they do not show up in Tumblr search. Note that my blogs are hidden from people without an account.

Fandoms/media I am interested in (to various degrees) include others' OCs, SDV, HtTYD (specifically RttE, specifically Snotlout), and MCSM.

Other things I like include PNGs, website coding (I am learning HTML and CSS), that sun and moon imagery which was everywhere in the '90s (AKA whimsigoth), and cats. I do reblog a lot of shitposts.

More stuff under the cut. Includes my permissions surrounding use of my creative endeavours (visual art, writing, OCs, et cetera). Read, understand, and heed them if you have not already!

Personally, I don't really have much of a DNI. I will say I don't want bigots and creeps coming here. However, I mostly rely on just blocking people. I tend to hard block a lot, even if I'm not super annoyed. Mutuals won't be hard blocked unless it's over something really big.

I do not consent for any of my writing, visual artworks, OCs, or other creative endeavours (items) to be used for anything by anyone without my explicit permission on a case-by-case basis per item. I have not ever knowingly and willingly consented to my items being used for scrapping purposes, nor will I ever knowingly and willingly consent to it.

Do not repost/re-upload my works to other sites or blogs (reblogging is different; you can reblog to your blog (not community)!). Do not reblog my works to Tumblr communities. Do not trace, edit, or otherwise copy my items (referencing the bare basics/fundamentals of a pose is okay; tracing broadly refers to mostly using the line art itself).

I believe all art is inspired by things and all art will continue to inspire. However, ripping entire concepts of my creative endeavours/items (entire outfits, full names, story, et cetera) for your own purposes is copying, not inspiration.

I know coincidences happen, but seeing a character with a unique outfit specific to an OC of mine (e.g., Renee's windbreaker jacket) is much more suspicious and likely to be called out than a regular/typical outfit (e.g., Lucas's green hoodie).

If you make fanwork of my OCs, let me know! Excluding Art Fight and if you're a mutual, I will only be comfortable having the artwork posted to my blog first. Proper artist credits and links will always be given and visible! I just don't trust the default scrapping settings on most social medias. You are encouraged to reblog it to your own blog or link to the post on your other social media(s)! Artists still deserve an audience. Again, I just don't trust default settings.

Macie and Amelia!

Made some new ocs! Macie is on the left, and Amelia is on the right.

They are both frequent patrons at the Marigold Speakeasy. Macie is a flapper in her spare time that loves the atomoshere of the speakeasy, Amelia likes sneaking in to have some alcohol in the time of prohibition.

Macie hates Amelia due to being jealous of her rich inheritance.

Macie falls desperatly iin need of help with her fashion designer job.

Amelia raised with an admiration with fashion and dressing well gives her advice. Tho... her attitude comes off as snobish when giving the advice.

Macie rejects it at first, seeing it as Amelia belittling and nitpicking her work

She falls desperate again, tries her advice finds out it actually helps

They slowly bond with each over, Amelia helping her out with her job in terms of creativity and founding it with her rich status.

Their love for fashion brings them together. Goes from one hating the other, and the other being neutral. To both of them caring deeply about each other.

Hi! You said we could ask about Agda, so I hope this is OK to send ^^ I'm pretty new in the LackaOC corner of the fandom, so I don't know much about people's characters if they haven't posted any recent lore. But your art of Agda is super pretty! :D

Basically, I'd like to know more about her history and her present-day storyline. I've also scrolled through your blog a bit and found posts about her and Zib (good taste haha). How did they get to talking?

Hello! Welcome to the OCs nest haha!

Agda is a norwegian-french girl who got abandoned at 5 years old in St. Louis by her mother. She got adopted by an old man after thinking that returning to her home would be a bad idea. At 15 she sadly loses him during an accident (that she thinks she caused) so she has no other choice than living with someone else until she finds a way to fix her life, so she had no options and had to get help quickly.

After getting mentally, physically and emotionally abused by someone (including sexually too), she escaped and got to stay on a little flat until she could afford herself a home (which until the present she doesn't). She works as a fashion designer for women and little girls, which mostly happens to be little girls. During the night she works at Marigold for Asa, so you kinda know about what she got into.

For the part of meeting Zib, i think it was dueing the '24, when the speakeasy was still okay before the Atlas accident. She got dragged into bad company during his show-time and of course, he had to keep some order and protect a very young lady from whatever that could have happened that night. There were guns and fights and everything but he got to save Agda from a horrible faith... and from passing away after probably 5 drinks, but yeah, he saved her life.

With the time they started hanging out more and got to know eachother a little better, and with the time they finally fell in love with eachother, although, it was Agda who fell in love first, so she was the one who take the initiative until Zib fell in love iin a December night of the '26.

okk here we go intro time,,

so this is just gonna cover one of my stories (sorry its not the one with spencer im rehashing her story rn. but you will get shark girl) 👍

so. in this world there are four races (none of wich ive named yet) : theres just. regular people with normal human features n nothing special, theres ppl that have animal features (theres ones in land + ones in water), theres bug people (pretty much just anthropomorphic bugs) and theyres also like. elves

each race has (or rather had) a god exept for the normal human guys, so they were jealous of the other guys' gods and they summoned Big Evil Guy (havent named him yet) to be their god but he was evil so he tried to wipe out everyone and everything (not good) so most of the gods put their power together to stop him, dying in the process (rip) so their youngest and least powerful brother was left to rule over everything but we uh. wasnt very good at that so he just kinda went into hibernation for a while. (also i forgot to mention this but all the elf ppl went into hiding so that he couldnt use them as fuel for evil magic and now everyone thinks theyre all dead)

so with all the gods gone the people put together a council to rule them (after fighting over it for a bit) and heres where Ezra (normal human thing. at least she thinks so) comes iin (woohooo were finally actually getting 2 the ocs). Her dad was one of the council members, but Oops! he died. (along with everyone else in the council. how inconspicuous) and spoiler alert it was ezras mom who killed everyone. oops. and also she tried to burn ezra alive

so it turns out that the council members had to die so that Big Evil Guy (who is back now woohoo) could become the emperor (dictatorship time yay). and ezra tried to join the royal guard so she could try to prove to her mother that she isnt worthless (she thinks her mom tried to kill her bc she wasnt good enough). her mother is like. second in command btw

so then toni (half bug person half regular guy) shows up to try to convince her to leave the army and somewhat succeeds bc now the royal guard thinks ezra was a spy

ok going back in time a bit, all the elf ppl hid inside a hollowed-out mountain with like. a big magical gem in the middle (they also materialize from the gem just dont think too hard about it) and they used the gem as the center for a spell that puts a big magical barrier around it that makes it so that no one can get it. it also curses anyone who gets out by taking their voice so they cant tell anyone about the mountain

so. val (elf guy obviously) and his brother lived in the mountain for a while but they got curious (as you do) and they found a way out of the mountain. unfortunately they also cause a rock slide. val's brother got trapped inside the mountain thinking val got crushed in the rock slide, and val got trapped outside the mountain thinking his brother got crushed in the rock slide. Yay! val also cant talk anymore

so eventually val makes his way down to the ocean and is taken in by a bunch of guys who live in a boat (aaron, zaffre, and rue) and he lives with them for a while. but then the emperor decides that the ocean people are a threat so he builds a wall to cut them off from the rest of the world. but before that fully happens they send val to go live outside the wall and thats where he meets toni (who also happened to have just left her home. the bug people have a whole mind control thing going on dw about it)

and then the whole ezra thing happens and they go off 2 defeat Big Evil Guy (and a bunch of lore things happen with val)

Chylia is a hemoanonymous limeblood troll (dancestor ghost) who is great with survival and fighting thanks to the sabertooth lusus that miraculously saved her from culling. She's very competent and was the only member of her Sgrub team to reach god tier. But they also take themself too seriously in such a way that they wind back to being silly! Like half of the things they do are for the aesthetic, to be honest. They wear a dramatic black mask and cape, and they use a giant machine gun to feel powerful and edgy. They used to dye their hair fully black, but now they partially dye it so the white roots can be partially seen. Chylia is a total edgelord and I love her and I hope you do too after reading this!

He's honestly pretty pretentious about his art, and is kind of an asshole, but in a certain "wet-cat" way that makes people like him regardless. He has a weird fixation with his grubhood self, specifically stabbing a plush version of it with pins. He was the first troll OC I made, and he came from a dream where he was trying to sell me a cow plushie and guilted me into buying it. I love Erizoh, he's such a loser.

Shafan has been around since 2015, making friends in the tumblr ftc! They're a Brer Rabbit pastiche, a laid back traveling musician, trickster and occasional smuggler, and they love nothing better than sharing a smoke, swapping a story, and stealing from rich folks. A more or less homeless vagrant they wander from place to place, breaking hearts and singing songs. Noizod Explos is the dancestor of Terriy Explos (My trollsona). Noizod is a troll with an interest of the weird and mysterious, mainly in mad scientists and old food mascots! Noizod is a heir of time/heart, a derse dreamer, And A rust blood. Their typing quirk is misspelling words sometimes and replacing every 7th word with the number 7.

Noizod has low psionics, yet is cursed with the visions of the past, which has led them to try and be like their ancestor, the Observer.

Turpen Cansoi is an indigo blood that owes money to higher bloods, and because of this he’s been DEMOTED TO LOWER CASTE STATUS. Now he lives his life as a low caste blood and tries to make a Quick buck for a living. Turpen is either a maid/Page of breath And a derse dreamer.

Just about the least competent fuchsiablood to live twice. Her skills include being okay at leadership, insulting lower castes and making enemies. Formerly the heiress of her planet Liesteria, now the boss of a mafia known as the Kalpon gang. Her lusus is a big ol' gaggle of eels that do not make the same enemies as her. Her quirk surrounds individual words in square brackets and duplicates the letter e.

Sarnen is a talented prankster, thief, and craftswoman. She mostly tinkers but loves to try inventing her own machines, staying positive throughout the trials and errors. Her favorite prank involves the use of her robotic hands hidden under her gloves, they are detachable, so imagine someone’s surprise when they try to give her a handshake and they seemingly pull her hand straight off! Despite her apparent hunger for shenanigans, she genuinely cares about others, and no one will earn the ire of her foolery unless they are rude to someone she cares about. (Such as her matesprit, she loves her matesprit so much she will not hesitate to tell someone about her matesprit)

Idzill has a passionate love for art, and can be seen displaying many skills of the craft. Although Idzill is also quite impatient if they are not actively doing anything, and usually goes straight from a zero to one hundred when trying to solve a problem. Tongue gets stuck on something frozen? Try to skillfully use a knife. Art not making the money you want? Go straight to becoming a vigilante assassin… Idzill uses their dexterous skills to be quite the terrifying assassin, though they try their best to only accept hits for people they would consider bad. Idzill does not speak and uses signs 🪧 with their quirk painted onto them to communicate, that’s one way to view sign language i suppose…

The thing I like most about Leo is how he is a scarily powerful magic user not even counting the power of his reaper shroud. He is capable of so many things and yet he is such a gentle, kind, and patient soul. He restrains himself iin anger and he continously chooses a more difficult path than giving into violence because he has such a strong moral code and follows his beliefs above all else. A lot of characters tend to underestimate him /bc/ of what they see at face value.

I actually see Leo as someone who is capable of becoming an antagonist if hes pushed way too far into one direction, more than any other of my morally good ocs, and it would be one out of grief than anything else. But anyway! Thats offtopic from what this was originally about!

Leo tends to get underestimated and has been his entire life bc of how he acts and what he believes in but hes like a volcano where theres so much Lava thats just dormant and its very much capable of being destructive but nobody can see this but when there are hints if it its a pretty scary reminder. Ugh. Thinking about when he kicked his legionnaire's ass so hard and as he was begging for mercy Leo told him "I hope, for your own sake, the next warband you come across grants you the mercy you punished me for." Ect ect do not confuse my kindness for naivety and my patience for inperturbability .

As much as he'd like to say that he's seen the worst Night City has to offer, that nothing ruffles him anymore, it still manages to surprise him. It's less of one gig that's so standout, than a parade of them, that showcase how cruel people can be, and how easily greed triumphs over the well-being of others. It wasn't the worst danger he'd ever faced, or the most terrible crimes but the gig of retrieving stolen medicine from Corporal William Hare, suspected cyberpsycho lingered long after he'd gotten his eddies. There's the feeling that maybe if he'd been there sooner, if someone else had been, the man could've gotten treatment, or in touch with Regina. But then again maybe he couldn't have, that it would have always ended the way it did, and at least he'd skirted a larger tragedy. He knows the feeling of having to make a go of it alone, feeling like you've been abandoned, but he was lucky enough to find someone who cared, who was willing to help. It makes him feel powerless, in the face of the corporate machine, and even if he can make a single person feel like it's not just them against the world, than maybe it'll all be worth it.

Lt. Mower: What is the worst betrayal your OC has faced?

Hiro isn't a stranger towards how self-serving people can be, but by far the worst was Wakako. He grew up thinking he didn't have any family aside from a brother he was estranged from, didn't know that she was his grandmother or that his dad had been her son, estranged from the family, or that he has a half-sister. She kept an eye on him growing up, but always held him at arm's length. She said it was because she didn't want him to turn out like his father, that it was for his own good but he wishes she just would've told him, been more involved. She let him make his own mistakes, firm iin her belief that if he was determined enough he would dig himself out of them, and while that held true, he's always resented her for it. He put his trust in the wrong people and she simply watched.

Where the bodies hit the floor: Is your OC vengeful? If not, what would it take for them to seek revenge?

Hiro is vengeful not when he is wronged, but his loved ones. In terms of himself, he's likely to just brush things off, especially if retaliation will simply bring more trouble. In the case of a continued threat, he will deal with it accordingly, and ensure his safety, but he's not going to go on a wild hunt in the name of revenge. If a loved one is wronged, it's a complete reversal, and he won't stop until he feels the debt has been paid--whether it's as simple as petty revenge, or making them disappear more permanently, it's unwise to provoke him.

Ares:

Bloody Ritual: Does your OC have any pre or post mission rituals or superstitions?

Ares always shoots a message to Dakota, or Iris before doing a particularly risky gig. She has the fear of something happening to her on a job, and nobody being there to take care of her dogs, and give them a home, or thinking they've been abandoned. They're like her children, and the idea of them alone and scared is enough to keep her up at night, so having a fail safe in place gives her a lot of peace of mind. She also double checks to make sure she's locked everything up before leaving, and it isn't uncommon for her to turn around and go back to check--the last thing she needs is coming home to her garage raided.

Discount Doc: Is your OC good at improvising? Would they survive a mission underprepared?

Ares thrives on improvising. She goes in with a loose plan, but with the expectation that it'll go to shit, and to be prepared for it. She doesn't necessarily have an entire backup plan, but it keeps her from being frozen in the middle of a crisis, for the most part. She has survived missions under prepared, particularly around the city, where she didn't know what to plan for in the first place. However, she's very, very careful in the Badlands, in terms of the hazards it contains (natural or otherwise), and it's something she's familiar with, unlike the city. Underprepared in the Badlands often means 'dead', and she doesn't plan on that happening anytime soon. She usually carries extra ammo, supplies in her car, and an extra gun or two, along with her tools, a tent, and sleeping roll, and of course an extra mask, goggles and more water than she thinks she'll need. She might find herself out of her depth in Night City, but a sandstorm or raid will never catch her unprepared.

House on a Hill: Is your OC easy to trust or are they paranoid? How vigilant are they?

Ares is too trusting, if anything. While she has a good scope of life in the badlands, and the challenges/specifics that come with it, Ares is less informed about the goings on in Night City, and this can lead her to come off as a little naive about how it works. She gives people the benefit of the doubt, occasionally to her disadvantage, and it's left it's lasting marks on her (in a very physical sense, her missing arm, and replacement cybernetic is a grim reminder). That being said, if someone has proven themselves untrustworthy, she's reluctant to extend the same trust again--she cares deeply and having that betrayed lingers terribly.

Avi:

Letter of the Law: How does your OC feel about Corps? Hatred? Necessary evil? Ect..

As a Corpo himself, he sees them as a necessary evil. He's self-aware enough to know they're not altruistic, but they were a means to an end for him, rather than a 'noble cause' and he saw siding with the Corps as his ticket out of the slums and into a more comfortable life. Although he'd like to pretend it doesn't impact him, his growing disillusionment with Arasaka let to him cutting ties with the company for good, in search of something with more personal freedom. He was simply a dog on a leash to them, even if his kennel was made of gold, and he didn't want to become the next Adam Smasher for them, their tool and completely at their beck and call. Not that his new ally is much less sinister, but his agency is much greater.

Lex Talionis: If your OC is a netrunner, or if they were a netrunner, what would their handle be?

Avi''s would be C3r83rU5 (Cerberus). He's referred to as 'Arasaka's Guard Dog' while working for the corporation, out of earshot of course, and the handle stuck.

On Deaf Ears: What does your OC think about human experimentation? Would they participate in a trial if they were hard up for eddies?

Avi's view of human experiementation is very dim, given his personal experience with it. It's part of the reason he cut ties with Arasaka. Although he condoned his mantis blades and lynx paws, he was filled with experimental cyberware that he hadn't agreed upon, and was missing chunks of his memory. He still doesn't know the full extent of what Arasaka did with him, and most of his records are dead-ends and redacted text. He's had enough of involuntary trials, that he'd rather do literally anything else for money, and Night City always needs another Solo. In his opinion, it's one of the worst things you can do to someone--hide the parts of themself, and leave them wondering what's really them--who is he really, and did Avi ever exist in the first place, or are they simply an Arasaka construct too?

I understand that its been long since i wrote an update of my Tara Carpenter fic, but the good news is that i didn´t give up on it and that the Part 3 of it is on work. Although i´m having some personal conflicts in the presence of my oc! iin the attacks from ghostface and the results of them.

Soooo good news is that NO i didn´t give up on the story but the bad news is that it will take little bit more time before updating.
