Obi-Wan: Cody. Oh sweet sweet, good man Cody. I just don’t think we could be together.
Cody: Oh. Um. Is it because I’m a clone?
Obi-Wan: *trying not to admit that he would literally go insane and either try and steal the whole army, or kill the chancellor if he admitted to his feelings* Well. It’s… a conflict of interests.
Cody: *well versed in Kenobi speak, which is why he knows that doesn’t add up* What?
Anakin: *taking out his headphones ten feet away* He said you guys have conflicting mental illnesses.
Cody: That’s not-
Obi-Wan: No no, that fits the situation pretty well, actually.

Dark Sonia's Monologue
"Hello again. We've met before.
You look different, I'm the same.
You've begun to know my face,
You already know my name.
I am the one who calls you,
Who says "come here, come home"
The voice that whispers from within
So you never feel alone.
I wait in all your doorways,
I watch you while you sleep.
I live right here inside you
Gnawing, growing, squirming deep.
I've taken the people you loved the most
One by one by one.
And I have come to take you next
Will you fight, evade me, run?
I am the weight that crushed your sister,
The guilt that carves you like a knife.
I am the fear that no one loves you,
The Creep that drank your family's life.
I am the dark that lives within you
As now at last you see -
I am the wound you've always carried,
You belong to me."

So, I actually am curious about this.
I use quite a few different programs for editing my work, specifically I prefer using ProWritingAid but have also used Grammerly in the past too before I wanted something with more features and specialized.
Both ProWritingAid, Grammerly, and other editing software often have features that can reword sentences for you for numerous reasons, such as getting rid of a "passive voice," for clarity, or just to make it sound better.
I'm not entirely sure what sort of program is running to do this. Is it AI based? Perhaps. Or maybe an algorithm of some kind? I am not sure. I know very little about software.
Personally, I find it really helpful and it speeds up the line editing, which I hate doing. Content editing and rewriting? Fine. LINE EDITING? Ugh.
But what is everyone else's opinion on this?

i think the reason why i gravitate towards belos on a deeper level a lot more than any of the other characters in toh is bc my preference in characters and stories is in how they are affected by institutions and the messiness that results from understandable character flaws exacerbated by those institutions, whether they are the oppressed or are enabled to become the oppressor. belos is a mix of both in a way that i like — it's possible to read him as nd & left handed (both heavily stigmatized in his day and society) yet both are possible to hide. in the demon realm he yet again had a trait that made him a possible outcast, as he was a lowly human, yet he transformed himself into a magic user through painful mutilation of his skin all so that he could conform to that society, even when it was one he couldn't stand. his conformity in the demon realm supports the idea of him having to conform in the human realm. but because he was enabled for being a white man in the human realm and could reasonably hide anything that made him a nail to be hammered down, he clung to that power and dominion over others that it gave him for the rest of his life like a security blanket, represented literally with him lording his magical prowess over other witches and demons. it's a lot of layers that i think are very fun and i'm 90% sure are unintentional when put together into this cohesive of a picture for reasons i will state later.
compare that against almost every other character in toh (w maybe the exception of darius??) — every good guy has flaws that can reasonably be blamed on other people as a freudian excuse or that are downplayed by the narrative (eg. amity going from an active bully in her debut to a passive enabler of bullying in understanding willow). there's a dire lack of messiness in them all, from their appearance (all the witch kids could easily be mistaken for humans, fairly good looking ones at that, if it weren't for the ears), to how they deal with pain, etc. it gave me the impression that they really wanted only the villain to be allowed to be messy and ugly because those are traits for villains, when i think it's a lot nicer to see stigmatized traits (ugliness, childishness, hallucinations, mental illness, etc) in everyone. i really wanted the heroes to get in on that kind of action too.
another thing that drew me away from connecting with and trying to deeply understand most of the characters in toh is the lack of meaningful bigotry on the isles. i'm not criticizing the race-, queer-, and gender-blindness of the demon realm on an objective level bc the writers wanted to accomplish a v specific thing w that bit of world building and that's ok and it's a wonderful aspiration for usamerica. it's ok if it's not for Me and the world can't have a million yasuda sayos (i say with difficulty through tears). but because there is a lack of bigotry in what's supposed to be an oppressive society and there's no highlighted underclass in its place (covenless witches should theoretically be the underclass, but the show tends to undermine this aspect of its society, eg. letting wild witches like eda and luz roam perfectly free and having the government-funded school allow witches to study multiple covens without pushback from said government funding them), it becomes just another part of the show that makes it so much more squeaky clean and made me disinterested in a lot of the characters — i connect so much better with characters when i feel their pain and struggle against a world that can't find it in itself to care about them, witnessing all the ways they try to fight for their right to be happy frantically and imperfectly, and that is what makes their happiness so meaningful to me and makes me care abt them deeply.
contrast that w belos: i really love that he came from a society infamous for its conservatism and religious extremism grounded in the real world, and it's so thought provoking for me to think abt the layers of that society and how he interacted with it. which parts he rejected, conformed to, wanted to conform to, etc. that's a challenging character to understand (and then, after having fully understood them, condemn with so much more feeling) and i adore the idea of that being intentional if it wasn't for the fact that almost every other character in toh is boringly easy to understand because they lack enough material in the layers that can make them feel like real, messy people to challenge the viewer in a meaningful way. (side note: a lot of the layers created simply by belos being from colonial connecticut also disappear if you're solely looking at his background based on the text in the show, bc you're expected to fill in the gaps with, like, wikipedia basically lol. similar thing w luz where they show very little of her being bullied/outcasted bc of her adhd and you're mostly supposed to fill that in w your own experience & irl knowledge of adhd.) it results in the show being weirdly liberal about the bigotry/lack of bigotry certain characters have and only being able to halfheartedly say "idk some people are just evil i guess", instead of examining the material conditions that shape people to act the way they do. Bigot Phil vs Weirdgirl Luz could've been "these characters are shaped by their circumstances and have been encouraged to respectively become their worst/best selves through ideals instilled in them" but instead it's "some people are bad and we won't attempt to look at what made them 'bad' in the first place" and then pretending this is a groundbreaking message and not the laziest takeaway they could've possibly written.
basically i like my characters messy with hearts that you have to go out of your way to understand and sympathize with who come from understandable circumstances and i think all girls should be allowed to kill freely. i hope you can understand my position.

Hello! Your cult leader is alive. My attention has just drifted to other things, and I'm unsure how to continue..
The voices in my head are yelling at me about demons slayer recently. (Unsurprisingly) about background character(s?) once more.. Hantengu and those fuckass clones.....
I've stated I'm multi Fandom before, but hm, I don't want things to get too clunky.. but I also dont want to make new blogs each time........
what do you think, cult members??

Ok I bit the bullet and made an Ososan OC and his full name is Len Kanemaru.
He's the so-called perfect guy, pretty boy barista type turned up to 11, who might as well have manifested from thin air, who has genuine fanboys and fangirls, and most of the Matsunos want him fucking dead. He's oblivious to both of these aspects of the public opinion and seems kind of empty headed for the most part. He is also struggling just as badly as them but literally no one would believe him if he told them.
He also wants to kiss the oldest DESPITE the fact that his brothers are so jealous of him for being so perfect. Shenanigans ensue.
If you want a more detailed write up about him read the cut.
OK SO . Len is a guy trying his best to pretend to be an adult despite wanting to be anything but it. Unlike the Matsunos who dont pretend to be an adult and are anything but it, Len is trying to push through adult life while wanting to return to childhood when things were easier.
Sure he has a job as barista, but he's poor with money, spending it like he's still a teenager, struggles to maintain contact with people he’s befriended outside of work, DESPITE thinking people hating him is the end of the world, and surprisingly, still lives with his parents.
The thing is that he's REALLY good at pretending to have it all together. He has quite a few fanboys and fangirls and is often described as a prince. (It’s because of his charmingly good customer service skills that is his only real social experience post highschool.) But, despite being in his mid twenties, hes kind of poorly equipped socially and is unable to pick this up, despite it being clear to literally everyone.
(Like he thinks he’s being bad at pretending to be a well put together adult, and then turns around and can handle rush pretty well understaffed, not make any mistakes, and still keep a pleasant demeanor that his admirers swoon over. Anytime someone does act like a fan trying to get his love it’s met with confusion and just. “Huh.” more than anything. He doesn’t even reject them because he doesn’t realize so many people are in love with him)
This includes quite a few Matsunos who are jealous of him for being so popular (and admittedly kind of cool), find his princely yet oblivious attitude almost annoying, and somewhat creepy because of how much he knows about them from highschool. And those who aren't irritated by him are relatively apathetic towards him.
The only reason theyre so aware of him is the fact that he and Todomatsu worked at the same cafe before the latter quit. It was after he quit that Len properly met the sextuplets, having a chance encounter with the boys sometime after. Todomatsu was already irritated by him, by again, seeing above, but also because he already seemed intimately familiar with Totty during his highschool years.
It's like they had a whole classmate just manifest into being while skipping the "actually go to class together" part.
(They did actually go to school together but literally no one knew he existed during then. Not to their fault though, Len was basically that one vine that's like "I can't I have so much to do tomorrow" *fucks around on the keyboard. Because of that Len ended up being bad with people by the time he graduated and was ushered into the work force by his parents. As a result he can't really keep friends, often times contact dying off on accident. A lot of the time spent working is him TRYING his best to maintain relationships as an adult but it never really works out. Deep down Len wishes he could redo highschool, so he could not only get this skills but also find some memories that he so clearly missed out on. Because he willingly opted out of making those therefore other people don’t remember him. As far as he knows he hasn’t really had a friend since middle school.)
But like after the two and Totty's brothers encountered each other in public a whole bomb got dropped and nothing was the same.
Despite generally not liking him the Matsunos keep him around, mostly due to Totty's insistence saying they can use him (so they cant kill him yet!) but because Len is kind of bad with people in general outside of having a fandom (that, again, came with his customer service skills), and the Matsunos are the Matsunos, this never ever goes well.
Despite this and how much shenanigans the Matsunos end up dragging him into, he considers them friends since its the closest relationship he's maintained outside of his house. On top of that, he almost admires them for being NEETs. He's kind of ashamed of it, because he knows they have to be an adult, but because he's struggling so much as an adult, he wants nothing more than to be like them. He wants to stop being an adult and return to highschool.
It's why he takes to Osomatsu so much, since he seems most open about how shitty he is and how much he doesnt want to grow up. Like weirdly enough, his man-child behavior is what makes Len likes him so much. Sure he also has a big heart and loves his family, and Len can acknowledge Oso’s best aspects, but it’s the worst parts of him that loves.
And that admiration for having his character laid out flat and embracing his childishness despite his age and situation, how he practically will just grow up when he wants to rather than when he has to (unlike Len), makes the perfect man fall for the loser guy.
The more he hangs around the Matsunos the more they encourage him to tap into his evil side, and may end up making him worse, but for now he's Mr Perfect and most of them hate him for that. He doesn't get the message though so he's just kind of hanging around them for now.
Anyways he and Osomatsu are literally I'm Glad You're Evil Too to me . And also look at these sketches of him .

Just a doodle of Sun playing with kids while Y/N is doing their work
If there is trouble with an old one or a mischivous nature spirit the people of the village go straight to witches like Y/N and explain the problem. This old lady brought her grandchildren along and Sun imidiatly took to entertaining them. It reminded him of old times.

man the thing about beauty standards and being ugly and being pretty and being insecure is that ultimately you do just kinda have to Decide that youre pretty. like ultimately thats how you become pretty, or hot, or sexy. you have to just Decide that you Are. you have to recognize that its made up, its arbitrary, its subjective, and that people might disagree with you about it, and as much as you are able, you need to completely and utterly disregard their opinions on your appearance, and decide that youre pretty now. and THEN.
you need to find beauty in "ugly". you need to recognize that ugly is made up, that its arbitrary, that its subjective, and you need to be able to find the beauty in it all. and this means you cant bodyshame people. you cant body shame shitty celebs or politicians. you need to base your criticisms on the substance of their character and misdeeds and unhinged horrific opinions and not give a shit about what they look like. you cant go calling people ugly for being shitty. you cant go calling people ugly for looking A Way You Dont Like.
and then if you wanna really galaxy brain this shit you start using ugly as endearment. OBVIOUSLY do not fucking call other human beings ugly. that shit is far too loaded, its just Rude. Dont call specific features of people or even characters ugly cos thats also too loaded. as a term it has baggage. but you can see the ugly in tacky, loud, garish clothing, and it can be Good. you can see the ugly in a distinctive, horrible tiny car from the 90s, and it can be good. you can see the ugly in animals that have evolved to look the way they do, without a single thought of what humans find appealing. you can see the beauty and the freedom in "Ugliness". you can break out of this shit altogether and feel nothing but disdain for anyone who stoops to insulting your appearance if they disagree with you about shit. you can get completely out of the cave of these beauty standards. you can find it so freeing to revel.in letting yourself be ugly. in recognizing that the way you look and exist might be ugly to some people, and youre out of the cave enough to simply recognize. thats just your opinion and it doesnt matter. didnt ask.
you can look at ppl arguing about the correct amount of skincare products to use daily, the Correct Amount of makeup, and whether or not its radical to conform to beauty standards or defy them and argue about is it really conforming if visible makeup pisses men off, and you can say, well I dont care about any of that, I recognize the societal pressures of flawless skin and all that but you see,
I just want to look like a silly little clown :o3

I finally have time to put my thoughts on the latest patreon update into words so here it goes:
The hoodie situation is yet another display of how badly jrwi is managed, announcing and promising the demons hoodie without even checking the price of manufacturing is so insanely irresponsible its actually absurd. It's a mistake similar to one's they are known to have made before, like announcing the release date of wonderlust before the video is finished rendering, it's bad management to promise something before all the prep for it is done. Plain and simple. And the jrwi boys and team should know it by now. I understand the excitement that comes with releasing something and wanting to announce it, but it is your responsibility to make sure you only officially announce it after you know it will 100% be possible and have already made all the necessary preparations.
I do like that they offer a refund to all of those who signed up specifically for the hoodie, it's an offer I personally took, and I'm really happy they at least made this step to try to make things right. One criticism I have, although it's not really in their control, is that you have to reach out and message them through patreon DMs for the refund. I know it seems dumb and trivial but as someone with intense anxiety, I know it can take me a long time to be able to word and gather up the bravery to send a message, and I know how the anxiety can affect me even hours after sending it, so I would have highly appreciated it if they gave us a message we could copy and paste instead of having to write our own one, it could have also made it easier for them as they could search for that specific message to easily find everyone that wants the refund.
If any of you are like me, here is the message I ended up landing on. Feel free to copy and paste it:
" Hi! I just watched the merch update video, and due to the changes, I'd like to take you up on that refund offer. Thank you in advance :D "
It personally feels very weird to me to announce the situation with the hoodie in the same video where they announce the dice restock and new merch ideas. By doing that you are burying that information between 2 exciting announcements that people are definitely going to talk about, which I guess is a good business decision, burning your major fuckup to distract from it but it just feels shitty and manipulative to me. I believe it should have gotten its own dedicated video that shouldn't have been released on the same day as this one.
I would have also liked bizly to mention the situation with the dices font when discussing the dice restock, is it going to be the same as before ( with the 2s seemingly upside-down) or are they correcting it? I know they claimed it is a purposeful font decision, but whether it is or not, people still found it to be confusing, so is it something they are going to change with the restock or not?
For some final words:
Something in the management of jrwi needs to change asap. You are not a few friends making silly DND videos anymore, you are an incredibly successful business, and you need to start acting like one. Perhaps hire a professional, or take classes on business management, or just do the bare minimum by not announcing things before you have done all the prep. Just do better. Please. Do better.

I don't see a whole lot of fanmission discussion on here, which is a bummer considering they're such a huge part of the classic Thief community and why it's endured so long. With some of the Black Parade hype recently, I think now is the perfect time for this- here's my personal list of TDP/TMA fanmission recs! Not in any particular order (aside from the first 3-5 or so for each game, which are my personal all-time favorites) these are just taken from my highest rated fanmissions in FMSel. Each one links to a Thief Guild page where you can find the mission briefing, screenshots, and downloads.
Thief Gold:
Ascend the Dim Valley
Endless Rain
Rose Garden
The Scarlet Cascabel
The Black Parade
Catacombs of Knoss
Alcazar
Chalice of Souls
Making a Profit
The Sound of a Burrick in a Room
Whispers Below the Cobblestone
Between These Dark Walls
Dirty Money
Falling, In Love
Autumn in Lampfire Hills
Thief 2:
Compulsory Egress
Into the Odd
Bad Debts, and its sequel Disorientation (part of the Talbot series by Melan, along with TG FM Rose Garden)
The Violent End of Duncan Malveine
Feast of Pilgrims
Ominous Bequest, and its sequel Broken Triad
Rose Cottage
Behind Closed Doors
The Turning of the Leaves
King Abedzen's Tomb
Legacy of Knoss (sequel to TG FM Catacombs of Knoss)
The Ties That Bind (the first FM I recall ever playing and, imo, a cute introduction to FMs as a whole)
Old Habits and Dead Wives
Vanishing Point
All For a Night's Sleep
The Last Lighthouse Keeper
Cracks in the Glass
Bloodmist Tower
Finals at the Academy
Heist at Hilbert's Highrise Hotel
The Sun Within and the Sun Without
Malazar's Inscrutable Tower
Ravensreach
Coaxing the Spirit
Keyhunt
Here's a TTLG thread on how to set up both games for playing FMs. I personally don't use any fancy loaders, FMSel will be what you get by default, it works perfect and is all you need. TTLG overall is just a great place to be, it's good for FM hints/walkthroughs/recs and general Thief/Looking Glass discussion.
Ideally you have T2Fix already installed, but for setting your game up for FMs, you should do a quick reinstall and make sure that two options are ticked: common script modules, and T2FMDML. T2FMDML is a collection of fixes for Thief 2 FMs that wouldn't otherwise play nice with NewDark, and the scripts as I understand are for FMs that need them but either come packaged with older versions or without the scripts at all- there's a lot of older FMs out there that will be broken for you if you don't have both installed. You can just rerun the T2Fix installer for this, you don't need to reinstall the game or anything.
Thief Guild is where all the links lead, and it's a great site for finding FMs. You can filter by genre (city, thieves' highway, cathedral, etc.) or look through the usermade collections- for a start, I'd recommend looking at the collections specifically to find classic/early FMs, a category that I know I'm not hitting on much in my list here but is definitely worth checking out if you're at all interested.
Bonus Dark Mod rec: The Dark Mod is a fanmade, free, Thief-inspired stealth game. I haven't played nearly as many missions for it as I have for Thief, but it's still absolutely worth checking out to see if it clicks for you. If you only play one TDM mission, though, my personal rec is Iris.
If you have any, add on with your own FM recs also! Feel free to send asks or dms about anything FM-related, as well ^^ I'm always looking for more to check out, and always open to talk about them if anyone wants.

so i love your horror posts but you seem like a super obnoxious and abrasive person. you don't have to be such a jerk if people don't agree with you, i've seen so many text posts of yours like this. as if you're the only one who understands good taste or the movies you watch.
haha what like saying a compliment at first is going to mean anything after you insult me. i don't really care if people dont like my posts. I post my opinions. I also love how you posted this as an anon like say this with your chest anon.
