ok ok ok hear me out
what if, somewhere down the line, there has to be some sort of soul bonding type thing to keep reader/mc alive in twst?
like what if there's a type of energy the people in the twisted wonderland world has that keeps them unaffect to the effects of magic. or maybe that they're just used to it that it doesn't affect them (overblots aside) but mc being not from that world, just starts getting sick. starting from a minor cold or constant exhaustion to just full on fainting and being in so much pain that they can't move.
and eventually something has to be done. they have to go to some sort of professional, where Crowley will be forced to tell the truth about mc. and all mc can do is let it happen, they're worried and in pain, and oh god, they're terrifed. so they do test after test after test, and...end up having to wait for the results.
everyone can tell that the wait is killing them, both literally and figuratively. everyone is trying their best to lessen the load on mc and their weakening body. grim, with no doubt, being your biggest supporter and bodyguard. closely being followed by the adeuce duo for second place.
a week passes and you're called into crowley's office, grim perched on your shoulder, and there you hear the most terrifying, heart wrenching, news you've ever hold.
your soul is rejecting this world.
your soul is dying, along with your body, because it's incompatible with the energies of their world. it's a slow process, a painfully slow process, but eventually you'll die if you're here any longer.
you don't know what to do. you felt dumb. it was so painfully obvious.
you're a plain human from a magicless world.
and this world, this world you were thrusted into, is anything but that.
but there's a way to prevent it, crowley says, his voice solemn and grim, you could merge energies, merge souls with another to gain resistance to the pressure of twisted wonderland.
the only downside, is once you do that, your chances of leaving twisted wonderland is zero. to take half of another soul and leave them is cruel, and that's not even thinking about the actual dangers it might create for them.
to live and never leave or to die painfully and slowly with the hope of leaving, are your only two choices.
now which do you choose?
and most importantly, who do you ask?
