Severus and Minerva being friends is honestly a top tier headcanon. By now I just consider it canon.

At first it started off with Minerva reluctantly helping Severus when he's a new teacher/head of house. But what starts off with advice over tea and chess becomes a weekly alloted time for Severus, they talk and gossip.

Minerva is the one who helped Severus get it together after Lily died, she was there to hug Severus after his trial in which Dumbledore spoke in his favour.

What started off reluctantly became a very close friendship. They were like two peas in a pod. They'd sit together during staff meetings and meals in the Great Hall. Minerva could be found fighting laughter at something Severus whispered in her ear (especially when Lockhart was teaching)

Severus would complain and gripe to her about Potter and how he was a rule breaker and he'd break his neck one day if Severus wasn't there to watch over him.

When Severus was told by Dumbledore that he had to kill him all he could think about was what would happen to his friendship with Minerva.

That last year of his life was the hardest ever. He was alone. Severus had always known he'd be alone eventually but it hurt more then he'd thought it would.

When Severus was dying all he could imagine was that he was dying alone and no one would care about him once he passed. He thought about Minerva.

After Voldemort was killed Minerva went to Harry demanding/asking to be told the truth and was Severus really still on their side. Harry noticed the normally stern teacher was on the verge of tears. Harry nods and tells her about the memories (mentioning that she was in a few of them cuz honestly they're besties Minerva had to have appeared at least once). Harry then brings Minerva to where Severus's body remains.

Harry watched as Minerva broke down upon seeing the man's body and went over to him and cleaned his wound, she spoke softly to him apologizing for everything that he was forced to do. It's heartbreaking to watch, Harry looks away when Minerva hugs the man's body (grief makes people do that, I've seen it first hand) and kisses his forehead.

Minerva speaks at Severus's funeral, she's the one who gives the eulogy. She speaks of a man that not many got to see and how she was privileged to be able to see the real Severus. She spoke about how her life won't be the same without him in it, and how he was a hero and like Harry Potter says, the bravest man she's ever known.

There's something so grating about the majority of the internet conflating the act of creating spaces, communities, and terms to describe common or overlapping experiences and misappropriating medical / psychological terms and spreading misinformation.

It's not heretical to say you shouldn't be inventing new medical / psychological terms to describe your own experiences and then presenting them online as if they're quirky personality traits. Not only does it devalue and harm those who suffer from / are diagnosed with disorders / illnesses / etc that professionals have spent considerable amount of time studying and defining but it also pathologizes what is sometimes normal human behavior which can be incredibly damaging to others (especially minors) online.

This is not to say that normal human experiences cannot be assigned labels and have communities. Or even that normal human experiences cannot be difficult and harrowing in their own right. But not every experience needs to be equated to a delusion or dissociative disorder.

With seulgi solo out, (I really liked it! Tho the mv was meh I wish for the two seulgi scene they had one of them in the snow white outfit and the other in the grimhilde outfit then they cut to the one seulgi in a combined sort of outfit or any outfit really so it could show good and evil in one person but oh well lol) it made me go back to Irene and Seulgi subunit Monster and got me wondering how the heck it worked so so well.

Bc I see many covers of monster from idols as well like two of the izone girls, dreamcatcher girls, and not a monster cover but it gives off similar vibes-- ryujin and yeji break my heart. But they all don't quite hit as hard as the original which makes me wonder what Irene and Seulgi had if that makes sense?? Like their chemistry is very alluring and I feel like the two of them balanced each other out very well. What are your thoughts? If I made sense LMAO

yea i agree they should have at least had the opposing outfits for seulgi for that scene, it would have actually fit the theme lmao.

in terms of monster and why it worked, i think it worked because of all the combined factors (top tier skills, good choreo, it was designed for them in the first place etc etc), but one thing that i think stands out in comparison to people doing covers and itzy break my heart is that the chemistry between seulgi and irene is actively complex. one of the things that makes monster so interesting is that it's really hard to tell who either of them hate more: each other, or you, the viewer. and on top of that they also play a love for each other that surpasses anything they'd give you, so you'd better get out of there real quick if you don't want to end up on the wrong end of a stiletto (knife or shoe). but with break my heart especially, it's a very one note 'cheeky ironic bad girl' performance; you don't really get the sense that they'd actually do anything you to or themselves. it's toothless. with monster there feels like a real threat coming from seulrene that if you even looked at them the wrong way they'd have no hesitation killing you and then each other, just on principle.

LIKEWISE I hope you enjoy the upcoming releases too and that the price tag on Gaiden's worth it! I know personally I'll enjoy them regardless lol, the worldwide releases have been Particularly Rough on localization but these have still been some of my favorite games.
