Today is Luffy's birthday and I can only imagine him with the biggest birthday cake Sanji has ever made, maybe even bigger so it towers over all of them as the crew stands around and sing Happy Birthday to him. While Luffy is not very patient when food is involved, he waits for this; sitting in his chair in the dining room because Nami told him to, laced hands below his chin and elbows on top of the table, not watching the cake or the candles being lit up but watching his friends sing. Each of them with a smile on their faces, singing off-key (not Brook, Luffy giggles in his mind, never Brook), some of them louder and some of them in normal tones. Regardless, they look happy as they end the song and stay silent as they watch him intently.

Luffy might just grin and laugh the way he does, eyes full of joy, fondness, and love, with not a single wish in mind as he blows out the candles. He looks over at his friends, who clap and whistle and shout in celebration, knowing he already has everything he could ask for.

He doesn’t understand when you show him that kindness he showed others, even when you know he could kill you for it. He’s tried every route. He asks you if you have anything better to do when you try to do the same. He’s a direct reflection of the player. He’s a fucking talking flower named flowey and his only voice line is by Ronald McDonald and his officially licensed plush does a little dance for you
