i personally am not a fan of cat but i wouldn’t write hate to her in a new post based on drama multiple years ago. most people don’t even have a solid reason for hating her, they just think she’s annoying which is fine. you can think that. just don’t spread that kind of hate.

Coming out should be something a person chooses, when they're ready, without outside pressure. It should bring joy to everyone involved because someone is comfortable with themselves and with the world enough to be willing to share such a vulnerable part of themselves and if that's not something that should make me happy and proud of them, I don't know what should.

An actor from one of my most favourite shows coming out should have been a good thing. What Kit was pushed to do did anything but that. He was bullied into coming out by toxic people who think they're entitled to his life because he plays a character in a TV show. How sick do you have to be to believe that?

Went on a bit of a rant bc i just saw they cancelled first kill citing lack of engagement/viewership when it did way more views than so many other shows that were renewed and i genuinely believe that the kind of negative atmosphere "heartstopper is SUPERIOR first kill is BAD" people created had at least some hand in this like my twitter tl was full of randos shitting on fk for NO FUCKING REASON but to say don't watch it watch heartstopper instead it's SO FUCKING STUPID can't y'all like more than one show at a fucking time !?!?!? I hate that we have no "good", unambiguous words for fat people, because being fat is so fucking hated and despised in our culture that why would we? Meanwhile most the words for skinny are instantly recognized and inherently good.

As an example, i definitely read Nina Zenik as someone who was meant to be fat, but i see so many people disputing that because it was "vague". Ive seen plenty of people argue that she's "curvy" or "hourglass" but that does not mean she is actually "plus size" and, while, apparently the author confirmed she was not intended to be skinny, i hate Word of God confirmation. I should not have to look at a blog to find out what the author's character was meant to look like. Meanwhile nobody argues that Inej is not meant to be skinny when she was described as lithe.

Like, the words to describe non-fat people are specific and nobody disputes them. Slender, slim, skinny, all calls to mind one specific thing. But apparently "curvy" "round" and "chubby" are ambiguous to the point that, hey, maybe this character is still skinny but has big tits? Who could possibly say? But "fat" is seen as inherently derogatory so nobody would dare use that unless they're insulting the character, so authors who don't want to perpetuate fatphobia have (apparently) no way to indicate that their characters are actually fat.

I think the thing that got me the most about what my supervisor said today was that every single observation and secret shop and w/e that came before doesn't matter at all, period. So what y'know, five-six previous supervisors consistently rated me doesn't mean anything compared to her single observation because every time happened to come by me today I wasn't cleaning or pulling off the single coupon left behind from the last order.

im watching the extended two towers and if youve never seen lotr the two towers starts with some of the most beautiful mountains ever, lotr is STUNNING it is GORGEOUS all the mountains and plains and forests and shit are just some of the most incredible sights ever. and theyre REAL. theyre real ass mountains and plains and forests and whatnot, and thats part of why the lotr movies were so admired and have been so highly praised for so long (aside from yknow epic fantasy wizard fights hot elves and such which yeah that also)

what i find most heartbreaking is when they announced the hobbit and everyone was so excited and we all waited and waited and were like FINALLY we're gonna see bilbo's epic dragon adventure and then the trailer came out and it was like huh. well it looks cool ig?? and then it came out and it was all cgi. like all of it. no epic plains no beautiful mountains no cool forests and rivers and such. just miles upon miles of green screen upon green screen. it's the saddest shit imaginable. also they made three of them to squeeze as much money as they could out of us and the pacing suffered for it. the performances were rly good but when you take something from a franchise so well known for its stunning scenery and nature and trim it down to a cgi hollywood trilogy? so fucking sad.

PSA: i keep seeing posts about staying cool in extreme heat that include advice like "gatorade is bad actually!" and "don't drink fruit juice it'll just dehydrate you!" and neither of these are true!

regarding fruit juice: there's apparently a misconception that Any Sugar At All will dehydrate you, and that's simply not true. yes, sugar will make you pee more when consumed in large amounts, but 1) the natural sugar in fruits won't do this to you 2) great news! a lot of fruit juices exist without any added sugar in them! 3) honestly even having a glass of the fruit juice with added sugar won't completely dehydrate you as long as you're also drinking water throughout the day. if its hot you deserve a cold treat of a drink!!! can't go wrong with fruit juice!!!

regarding gatorade: maybe this isn't an every day drink, but guess what: if it's 110F/40C or hotter outside, and you don't have AC, or you're moving around a lot outside of the AC, and you're sweating buckets: that's when you drink a gatorade.

gatorade exists to replenish all the electrolytes (salt) and glucose (sugar) that you sweat out. YES it is meant for athletes to drink during intensive work outs and not necessarily for people who aren't doing that kind of exercise. BUT GUESS WHAT! when you're sweating buckets because you had to walk to the bus in extreme heat, that's intensive exercise. please feel free to drink a gatorade after that! that's its intended use case!!!!

no: neither of these drinks should be a total replacement for water. but drinking a lot of water and then treating yourself to a fruit juice with lunch is a good idea!!! drinking a gatorade becuase you just had to walk for 20 minutes in the heat is a good idea!!!
