Ive been non stop thinking about this, so just a small ramble about parallels between DRDT and THH and how they were flipped.

DRDT ch2 spoilers!!!

I absolutely ADORE how the dev structures the events of DRDT in relation to THH. Its well known by now that they seem to be taking things from THH and twisting them into new and wonderful (sorta!) things and i utterly and entirely respect that, it is SO WELL DONE that you dont even notice at first. But when you do and start putting it together, it becomes more amazing in a way as you notice clues and intentions.

One of my absolute favourite examples of this is probably Aces almost-murder!! The motives are easy to catch onto but that one took me a while.

Aces almost-murder was already SO impressive to me, it creates a really interesting dynamic with Ace and Nico, showing us they arent as weak as they seem, but also bringing into question if it relates to the actual murder. However, i feel my love for this scene like... Skyrocketed after i realised the parallels to THH ch2. There isnt many but its enough to sendnme crazy!!

First of all, that its done in the gym. Although this doesnt EXACTLY parallel THH, i feel its a reference to how ch2 was in THH. My other realisation was how Nico attempted to situate Aces body as implied by the wire tied to the fan. Its no extention cord by any means but i find it really impressive to even be able to draw those simmilarities. Im also sure almost everyone was convinced Ace was dead, right? (for the total of like 10 seconds LOL!! So good) that also flips THH ch2 on its head as the "weaker" of yhe pair commited the almost-murder rather than the other way around. It was unexpected and shocking, and worked like a charm. Following this by finding out hes alive also just threw the entire thing out the window, completely flippimg the table on everything we thought we knew.

Orrr... Maybe im losing it. Maybe im so enamoured by this show that im like pulling red strings into knots trying to find more excuses to rewatch and analyse it! (you can decide) Either way this scene is SO GOOD i might make another ramble just screaming about it because it is SO well done and ill say that over and over.

Full praises to DRDTdev and their talent with how chapter 2 is structured. If you have any thoughts, let me know!! I love hearing peoples opinions.

Arknights - Zwillingstürme im Herbst Event (Day 1)

HEY, Zwillingstürme im Herbst is here and I CANNOT pronounce a single of the German words they are using, I think I might just end myself here. For some reason, the update was loading extremely slowly, but it was long enough to get us through those pesky 10 minutes we had to wait until the server was open.

On the flip side, we have a bunch of cool new things to look at and a reason to rewatch the trailers and cinematics + review the music that comes with the event.

Warning: The following content goes over obvious stuff about the event and the characters that I plan on working on + my personal ideas for who is useful in what way.

At the END of the post is a guide for the music tunes you need for the interrogation event. As far as I have gotten at least.

Since it's Arknights' sixth celebration event we expect a LOT of content, a long story, probably a daily check-in for missions inside the event itself and much more. The banner for Viviana and Virtuosa Arturia (being the Limited operator) lasts a whole three weeks, with every day carrying a single free pull.

Oh the joys of saving for Zuo Le and Logos knowing that I really do want Viviana is a bittersweet sensation. I'm going to get Lessing today at least, so we can be content the husband team stays strong.

Not to forget the free 10-pull we get along, which got me a single Baseline.

When it comes to the videos and PVs we got, they're actually an insane amount in comparison to other events. Of course, the anniversary has something to do with that, but it's also because the characters we are getting and the story that is meant to unfold is very important to the Arknights world.

I watched this just now for the first time and it's equally horrifying to see the Aegir, charming to see her get along with kids, saddening since I know this is her at her mother's funeral and also it makes me absolutely insane to think that I feel anything but resentment for her and everything she's done to Ebenholz and Kreide.

I know she is going to make a huge mess in Leithanien again, I know it.

I feel a little smitten for the reason we are getting an ENTIRE introduction to the University. I can't even imagine how it's going to come to play inside the story itself. But I am glad that there's more embracing of the regional tongues now.

Fondly, I was reminded the other day how I started playing when there was only the Chinese and the Japanese (and Korean?) voiceover. Now there is German, Italian, Russian along with the English.

How... Unfortunate, we might never be able to hear French.

As far as I'm familiar, I think Ripples is meant to be the music for both the Candleknight and Arturia.

I love the character intros but more than anything I enjoy reading Travel Guides because this means these places are going to be super important to the lore itself and I am EXCITED!!!

Most of the enemies are very easy to deal with as long as you know the base mechanic and don't get too taken away by the music. The ones with a purple sphere on their heads need EXCITED music to neutralize their special skill and those with a yellow star need MELANCHOLIC music to calm down.

Long story short, the Tuning Nodes need to be all active at the same time and the place where you see that jellyfish shield is the place you need to avoid placing operators because they just won't do anything for the Node itself.

Attack Speed gained from the Exciting music is stackable for your operators. I don't know to what point, but Dr. Pinkie was having a blast learning this last night.

Speaking of the characters and Baseline specifically, he's a Lupo from Leithanien, appointed in the year 1100 (the year the story is set in as well) as a sort of mediator between RI and the Leithanien Imperial court. He's uninfected and his role is Defender, specifically Guardian aka Medic Defender. Real name Michael Wolfgang, tiniest Schatz because he's only 160cm tall and pretty much the same size as Greyy-alter me thinks. Birthday is on the 16th of July.

From what I imagine, I can use him instead of Nearl/Gummy or Spot since his Skill 1 heals operators only if they are under 50% and his Skill 2 stops attacking and concentrates on healing + gives the ally a shield.

I haven't done the speed/strength comparisons to Nearl but VS Gummy, his skill 1 charge is 6 seconds and the difference is only 20% additional healing at M3 for a cost of an additional 1DP at all E stages.

To me, that's good enough to exchange honestly if you're looking for more tankiness due to his Talent.

If we overlook the cost of maxing out a 5-star in comparison to a 4-star.

AND NOT TO MENTION HIS TOKEN IS--- I mean, if you insist I have it, sure, but I feel like the mouthpiece of any instrument is important to the player in their own way... right?

Lessing is the free 6-star operator you get in the event by competing the missions in Herzenfolgen. It's unlockable after you finish stage ZT-2 and it comes with 3 (technically 4) characters you can get event materials from including Lessing's Potential.

He's a Guard, specifically a Dreadnought (or as it's also popular - a Duelist Guard) whom I immediately am looking at as FINALLY there is something I can use instead of Melantha when I get asked for someone of that type. You'd think that out of all the guards I do have already there's going to be someone who does as much damage as Melantha and equal in health, but no.

Since Mel is a 3-star character and only reaches level 55 E1, I'm going to compare them like this: Lessing does more damage, has more health and defence than Melantha. His Redeployment time is 10 seconds more than her though.

Skill-wise Lessing's Skill 1 is an Offensive Recovery (charges itself when hitting enemies) like Hoederer's that does additional damage on the charged strike sans health regen.

Skill 2 is like a buff on his first talent: Pain Focus (this is at E1) - When blocking, take 20% less Physical and Arts damage from enemies not blocked by this unit. So that means that at lvl 7 of his skill you apply the maths that I am NOT going to math myself. At least not while Dr. Pinkie is sleeping to check them for me. When deployed, 1st Talent effect increased to 2x, ATK +35%, and attacks become 2-hit combos. His Skill 3 is what people get him for: Become immune to Negative Statuses, HP +80%, and attacks deal 180% ATK as Physical damage when attacking a blocked target Skill can be used when Operator is affected by a Negative Status, removing the status, but dealing 600 Arts damage to self.

So far as I can read while my Lessing is cooking in the training room - yes, you might be able to kill him if you use his skill and he's under 600HP.

My little Hoederer, big sword - big damage wielder. The only saving grace for Melnatha is that she's 13 DP at max potential while Lessing is 21. That's a lot to consider.

And of course, he is a cutie patootie in his letter, I'm crying.

Here is the guide offered by the Twitter page for the Herzenfolgen because otherwise, I could not grasp a single word of the explanations inside the event itself.

To explain it in simple terms:

Every day you get 3 people who will tell you a story and according to the information they give you, usually the important part is in red, you have to figure out what sort of emotion they have felt and then you have to align them to the 'desire' they have.

Making a mistake 2-3 times gives you the emotion and the 'desire' so it's not impossible to figure out, but it's a lot of experimenting as well until you get both right. And the notes you get are exhaustable, so you need to farm for them to know.

Dr. Pinkie also told me yesterday that the cards you DO manage to use also disappear.

Whenever you complete the day you get an Authorization Warrant to unlock the case-related characters and then you get a pot for Lessing every time you finish those.

You get 2 a day actually I think. Since I already managed to squeeze 4.

Here's all the emotions since some of the guides I found kind of misnamed the emotions and I had to spend a long while staring to get it to actually work.

TO GET THE FINAL ONE: DIE REISE (Tomorrow's Opus) you just have to complete all of the main interrogation nodes.

8: Favorite and least favorite arc?

hmmm that ones tough for favourite i gotta say its probably the World Domination Arc because thats where both Teru gets his moment to shine and Shimazaki appears (and they are my faves) but also emis mini arc is super good and it really touches my heart (it left me crying for at least 1 hour the first time i saw it)

now for least favourite...i have no idea? like every arc has its charm and purpose ? but if i have to pick one then it would be either the first arc because it kinda starts slow or the urban legend arc although now that im rewatching the anime ive come to appreciate better how mcuh buildup for the moagami arc, the divine tree arc and ??? arc that part does.

The friend visit concludes and Lily is on her own exploring snowdin. Martlet is going around checking puzzles when she notices, hey, there's somebody new in town!

Martlet swoops down and introduces herself ^_^ lily in her head is just. Oh my gosh not only do I see a cute girl today I get to TALK with one !?!! Just when their conversation really gets going, Martlet has to return to work/checking puzzles and they say goodbye.

Lily is kind of like. Wow.. whole days been made. Maybe even week!(lesbian who doesn't get out much so this was a big deal to her)

Martlet is happy to meet another kind-hearted monster and returns to work with a pep in her step! They start writing letters to each other and soon enough Lily visits snowdin again :) they're both glad to have a friend.

id like for things to get more spicy(in the dramatic way) but i dont have any ideas for it just yet! I know that Lily wouldn't be in UTyellow too much, she'd probably have a little shop after interacting with Clover some(I imagine she'd be self conscious that her wares weren't good enough, but seeing Clover so bravely facing the Underground inspires her! Then you'd learn some more about her with shop dialogue and her crush on Martlet(that shes horrible at hiding haha) and then, sense she chills in a river, Clover could ask her for a ride like the riverperson maybe? im spitballin' idk!)

I'd like for her to have an intro cutscene(sketched it out!) where she pops up(after being all ominous and spooky ftgyh) greets clover(as shes trying to be more social, which she mentions) and then just '.... OH! Are you.. A human? I should... I should... Fight you! I think!?" something like that. THEN BOOM FIGHT !!!!! mostly because i like thinking about attack patterns though i only have two attacks for her so far tygujhk I'll have to think of another outfit for her too..! I'm thinking swimsuit top but I dont wanna portray Lily as overtly sexy, maybe I'll go with the whole 'mermaid top fused with her tail' look that Ursula in the little Mermaid has.... Hi sorry if you’ve answered this before but do you know the “correct” way to watch all rvb content? I recently found out there’s like, bonus episodes outside of the main seasons and have no idea what order I’m supposed to be watching everything in. I’m doing a rewatch soon with my partner and just wanted to know if you knew, no worries if not!

there's also the chorus journals that take place before season 11 (these are technically a miniseries i think). bonus points if you include journal #4 which rt lamely left out of the compilation

finally there's also deleted scenes and general rvb bonus content exists (like the end of season 5 which had several alternate joke endings) if you're interested in watching that. the person who uploaded journal #4 seems to have uploaded a lot of that and (sighs) hopefully i'll have some of that stuff up myself soon in a google drive or something

EDIT: forgot that i’d also consider this deleted rvb scene mandatory content. it was only cut because burnie made the decision that he didn’t want to mention tex too many times in season 6 in order to make it a better entry point for new fans. i think this was a horrible idea honestly and the added context about why church changed his mind at the end of the season is fantastic

oh man this was a big writing year. i published more than double what the last eight years on ao3, and i've written probably about an extra 100k that i haven't/cant be published yet. dove into two big phandom events this year (phic phight and invisobang) and wrote almost 90k for each. got burnt out from those and struggled to finish the year strong, but was able to post some stuff in december anyway!

ANON YOU'RE PLAYING A VERY DANGEROUS GAME HERE I COULD LITERALLY WRITE A WHOLE DISSERTION ABOUT VICE VERSA YOU GOTTA GIVE ME SOME LIMITATION IF WE BOTH WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS WITH OUR SANITY INTACT. it's probably a good thing that it's been a constant 48 hours goat screaming up in my head since the show ended and that im still nowhere near coherent enough to articulate my thoughts properly........

talay's character journey is actually one of my favorite things about the show (and this says quite a lot, considering i adore pretty much everything about it) and i think it's also one of the best i've ever seen depicted in a BL. i do feel like im lacking the right english words to explain myself rn, but there's been something so.. charming and heartening about watching this boy who didn't believe in love, who has always prioritized his dream career to the point he never allowed himself to even consider a romantic relationship, slowly opening up to the possibility of it

the way they handled it was also incredibly refreshing to me, because talay’s choice of putting work before love is never shown in a negative light, it’s simply a part of his character that helps the viewers build a sense of who talay is: someone driven, meticulous, logical…. but talay is also warm and caring and kind. he doesn’t need to change or put his dream aside to love and be loved, he just needs to leave some space for it and let himself feel. if in the end puen is asked to choose between work and love (and in his case that choice feels like a blessing, because he never had an option before), talay’s journey is all about learning that he doesn’t necessarily have to pick one or the other, but that the two can coexist

another thing i really appreciated is that the writers never rushed talay into realizing and accepting his feelings for puen, but they made him experience all these new and different emotions (both good and bad) and then actually gave him have the time to figure out what they meant. it was a slow process, but it felt incredibly natural, and drawing a parallel with the color pink was such a clever way to show the progress in talay's feelings

puen’s character journey is probably less evident, compared to talay’s, but it’s honestly just as good. i feel like we focus a lot on how the alternate universe gave puen the chance to learn about all the different kinds of love and affection he never got to experience in his life (not only romance, but friendship and family too), however i think a big part of his journey is also rediscovering himself and letting himself be puen

it probably sounds a bit of a contradiction, since he spent most of the series going by ‘tun’, but i’ve rewatched some scenes from the first few episodes and it’s really startling how much more contrived puen feels compared to the second half of the show. this isn’t to say he was being fake or insincere, but you can see he used to hide a lot behind the cool actor persona he had to build for himself, and it made me realize that i didn’t fully understand just how true puen’s words are when he tells talay “not many people see this side of me. you’re one of them” and “i’m like this with you only. when i’m with you i don’t act.” being with talay and travelling to the alternate universe helped puen reconnect with who he is, and it’s beautiful to see his real self coming out more and more throughout the episodes and have him realize that maybe being puen is not that bad

i think im gonna stop here because this is already too long and if i start on all the reasons why puentalay is the best couple with the best development ever i will be on my deathbed and still not done with it, but i said it before and im gonna say it again: puen and talay's journey of going from strangers to friends to lovers felt believable and realistic in a way few others ever did, not only in BLs but in other shows too. it was about two very different people who didn't know what love was helping each other grow and choosing each other over and over again. they fell in love, and it felt real

so i just rewatched episode 2 with my dad and started thinking about things. ive been avoiding spoilers because i havent watched the third episode yet, so idk if all these things have been said already or not but im gonna say them anyway to get them out of my brain.

so at this point we know that Pinoccios stepmother is also cinderella and snow white's stepmother because the door was in cinderellas house and the mirror told pinoccio to take it back to her with her presumably being his stepmother. The woman in the book wearing the glass armor is also probably cinderlla because of the glass shard that she shoved through the fairy godmother's chest and it would make sense because cinderellas whole thing is the glass slipper. the woman who is probably cinderella was referred to as rosamund's sister and the stepmother and mirror both said that something was following her and that they were her sisters so what if the stepmother is also rosamund's mother. after rosamund fell asleep for a hundred years maybe she started doing some terrible dark magic to keep herself alive long enough to see her daughter and that's why she ate her daughters after cinderella left and killed all of the parents and pinoccio in his backstory shes killing people and eating them to be alive long enough to see her daughter again. and now that rosamund is awake again shes controlling her stepdaughters to find her and she was using pinoccio to find her location out of some sick idea that they might be a normal family again.

aside from that the stories of cinderella, sleeping beauty, and snow white all had prince charming's and based on the fact that all of the stepmother's are the same person, what if prince charming was also the same person. im pretty sure the frog prince was also called prince charming in at least a couple iterations of the story, so what if Gerard was the prince charming in all of those stories in the neverafter. he said he was a bit of a rapscallion or something like that and that's what got him turned into a frog, but what if that was somehow related to the tale of snow white or cinderella. in both of said tales the prince charming goes directly against something that the stepmother wants to happen which could have resulted in her turning him into a frog. now i dont really think that gerard would be rosamund's prince charming because it doesnt really fit with her story line and i think the true love that woke her up was the obsessive protective love of the briar's that wanted to keep her safe finally reaching her lips and it seems like her story is more realizing that her value doesn't revolve around a prince coming to save her and she has to keep herself safe rather than waiting to be saved by someone else, but they may be more connected than they seem. on the other hand gerard is not at all capable of fending for himself so it could be that she finds herself saving her prince instead of the other way around.

5. hoenn! no particular reason its in last for me tbh, i dont dislike anything about it. in fact i love battle frontier a lot and if it were just that this would be higher! but ag itself just… isnt all that to me. i dont really feel much with its episodes and there isnt any non battle frontier ep im dying to revisit (besides maybe the dusclops one, that ones really good). again, nothing wrong with it, its just that in retrospect im just like. yep. that happened. (this could also just bc bc idc much for hoenn as a region idk)

4. johto: johto is just Good Vibes tbh, it doesnt have much going on but its got some fantastic standalone episodes and just some of the best content in the entire anime. only thing that brings it down are the “new region” growing pains, you can tell exactly why they had ash change companions and teams in the later seasons. the pokemon teams in this one are just so awkward. ill always be bitter abt heracross. also that one season where nothing substantial happens stings a lot, i dont wanna call it filler bc thats most of johto, but nothing really Out There happened. it felt too safe, and the episodes that did take risks just felt weird and wrong (like the “pokemon dont think or understand words” episode) idk its good outside of that tho. also the cell animation was gorgeous in this season oh my goodness. all the pokemon look so vibrant and cute.

3/2: is it weird to say that kanto and unova are tied? it probably is but i honestly cant say which one i like more. i prefer the companions in unova a lot and think they had really good and charming moments and arcs, while the more crass humor in kanto (aside from some physical slapstick) is funnier than unova’s attempt at mean spirited humor. kanto was also just batshit really early on and thats super fun to rewatch, and newer seasons feel kinda safe compared to that. ash is also just better in kanto tbh, hes just starting out and unova tried to emulate that while forgetting that ges a veteran at that point. but then all the battles and fun stuff in unova is wayyy better than kanto’s. which is understandable bc they had more resources and budget at that point, but still overall they have more weight. also the unova mons have more consistent personalities. idk these two balance each other out, i love em both genuinely but idk which is better

1. sinnoh. yeah that last season sucks ass but outside of that? overall its great! straight up one of the best casts both of humans and pokemon in the entire show, some of the best emotional moments and arcs, genuinely threatening antagonists and a flawed, but interesting rival arc? its all REALLY good and it holds up super well. also straight up has the best league arc dont @ me. idk if itll be my favorite of the entire show anymore, alola has my eye on that regard and yeah i cannot emphasize enough how awful that last season is to sit through in comparison to the first 3 seasons (im convinced theres no battle frontier arc bc they had to nerf the show) but overall its really special to me and im still really nostalgic for it :3 also it spawned best character in all of fiction so yknow

Relationship status: I am in a relationship of one person, so yeah, I don't accept romantic advances from anyone that would be cheating. im in a happy and monogamous relationship to myself (I might get a divorce if I don't get over some decisive problems)

Im really excited to start this new page as a blogging experience but as a start to a new book i'm going to be writing as well. I love that i love to write and read! I think i get it mostly from my grandmother and my aunt. When i lived with my aunt id find her reading during the day at any time she had the time...my grandmother used to write amazing papers when she was in college. Every year i rewatch vanderpump rules and summer house for my birthday month. its just my big time comfort zone! Watching their growth has been amazing. IM really excited as well for the new season of southern charm tonight! I cant even rewatch some of the older episodes because OOOOOf some of those women were just so mean. I've been trying to be more self aware of when i see people act some type of way or speak a type of way...why does it bother me? What about their behavior is making me uncomfortable or upset? 1.) I cant stand when people yell. I realize my dad would yell often to get everyones attention, to sometimes make us all in fear of his anger so that whatever we did wrong...we wouldnt do it again 2.) I really hate it when people are upset and they choose to attack things that dont matter in an arguement (Your looks, your family, your choices that have NOTHING to do with why youre fighting) 3.) Trying to shame anyone, i think that is just disgusting. As humans we all struggle daily...the only people we should ever be shaming are child m0nsters and r@pists... Anyway, today is nice and cool here. Im loving it. Im going to play with some makeup...maybe go to the mall tonight or something. I dont know. I really want to find a new perfume that sticks well but is LOVING hahaha. I mean that everyone loves it. Also GAH the urge to dye my hair again is so strong, i know i shouldnt but i want to. With the possibility of it raining later, im going to finish the last season of AHS, make a fun drink...play with makeup. I should probably go to the store...i dont know what i feel like cooking tomorrow. I also still have to go get myself a birthday pie!! (Shout out to my bff for that too btw) I cant wait to dig into a chocolate cream pie <3 they are seriously the best!
