Teito-san can certainly join in on the fun 🥺 Hijikata calls him along for back-up because the showdown just so happens to coincide on Teito's day off too (and with Sougo doing his own thing and Kondo being Kondo— shit why is Teito the best bet for reliability?) Hijikata tells Teito to protect his plate as if it were his own baby and Teito takes it seriously, by wrapping it around his back like how you'd carry an infant child (Oi. Hijikata is regretting calling Teito around now. That leaves you so fucking wide open, Teito.). Fast forward, after getting bashed in by Sougo, Minamito squares off with Teito while Sougo and Kagura are fighting Nishino, calling it a fight between two handsome dudes. Teito is like please calm down 🥺 maybe we can talk this out instead of fighting 🥺. Minamito's thinking heh this guy's weak and moves in for Teito's plate. Not a good idea. That's Teito's child as far as he's concerned. Simply put, Nishino's face takes the brunt force of Teito's mama rage 😔, until Hijikata and Kitaooji come flying out fighting, and interrupting Teito from curbstomping Minamito. Minamoto escapes and Teito pursues, separating from Hijikata. He'll reconvene with the others again during the final fight.

For Seiji, guess who Gintoki received his red bean buns from 😔 (dind ding ding ding for one bloody-zenzou-style-hemorrhage, you are RIGHT, Seiji is the reason for Gintoki shitting his brains out; Gintoki is cursing that punk’s name on the porcelain throne—NEVER take food from Seiji)

Also, I think Seiji is so fine attuned to all things female (rolls eyes), that he’d perhaps be the only character to immediately recognize that Kyuubei is actually a woman (if I'm not forgetting someone who has figured it out first).
