Thankfully much less thoughts about these two or else this post would get way too long lmao. I like them but I'm not too insane about them I guess? Etho's very awkward near people he isn't used to which was fun to watch but made their interactions kind of limited for a lot of DL I feel.

Joel's obsession with Etho is hilarious and seeing Bdubs get jealous of his #1 ethogirl status getting challenged is great fun. He's definitely gone through a bit of an arc from "I KILLED ETHO! I KILLED ETHO!!" in Last Life to "Eefo D:< You're making me nervous, eefo D:<" in Double Life to whatever the cow divorce situation was in Limlife. It seems like Etho's otherworldly status has been nerfed in his head and he's much less intimidated by him, while still admiring him in that 'childhood hero' sorta way.

I think because of that I've always seen them a little bit as more of a mentor/prodigy relationship than anything else? Specifically one that Etho is not even aware he's in. Eitherway, I don't really ship them in the romantic sense 🤷‍♂️ etho's just way too aloof and joel's got too much fangirl energy for it to be anything intimate lol

anyways i believe i may have talked about my ethothoughts on this account before so sorry if i repeat myself but whatever. im here to ramble and be aimless and over-examine things.

the biggest thing about etho for me is that he's hard to read. due to a handful of factors i think-- the fact that we know very little about him irl lends to an air of mystery, and also the fact that he tends to let other people do the talking for him. he's very independent, doesnt have a problem with doing his own thing and oftentimes prefers it. that mystery leads people to fill in the gaps, make assumptions. other players tend to be scared of or intimidated by etho. others still see him as a challenge, a nut to crack, a competition. this isn't helped by his legacy-- he's almost minecraft incarnate. he's your favorite minecraft youtuber's favorite minecraft youtuber. he's who you grew up watching. and if not you, then someone you know. this intrigue and this challenge and this notoriety overshadow his ethoness. the personality that inspired all of that in the first place.

he's hard to read, but when you parse through his mannerisms and his words you find a guy who's familiar. he's awkward, he makes jokes that he has to explain, he fidgets, he fails, he laughs at himself, he makes mistakes. of course, the other side of that coin is being the creator of the hopper clock, the two-time decked out winner, tcg tournament champion, a mind like no other.

he's a friend even if you've never seen his face. he's humble even as others forget that he should be. he's a team player. he's living in the world like everyone else.

Also I find this so funny bc I voted Joe and (OBVIOUSLY) Scar; but yeah I do think Cleo would be a nice opponent to go up against in the final round so I'm not scuffed about seeing that Joe is getting beat rn

but anyways I am very much hoping that Scar wins both this round and the final (yeah you say etho is losing dramatically rn but I have a... certain mutual who's unintentionally feeding me ethogirl plots so I've been watching the live votes like a hawk) because back in SEPTEMBER I made a post saying Scar would be the mcytblr sexyman and I am so close to having predicted the future- plus I really think scar is the most tumblr sexyman mcyter out there so he deserves the win obviously
