Chase and Stacey met young and married fast. A whirlwind romance that burned with a fiery passion and resulted in the birth of their two children, Grace (8) and Max (6).

Bro Average started as a small passion project between a few friends and came to a sudden stop after a freak accident resulted in the death of Chase's best friend Chad.

Guilt and depression sunk Chase into a dark spiral which he struggled to tread water in. The marriage already on the rocks crumbled when Stacey left with the kids.

After all he lost, Chase couldn't handle it and tried to take his own life....and found out he can't die.

“How did you know that would work?” Chase asks Tobi.

Tobi smirks. He’s moved away, sitting with his back against the side of the bed, his leg propped up as he leans against it. “I’ve never died, but I came really close once.” The smirk falls, replaced by a wistful smile. “As I was coming back, someone held me like that. It helped. Don’t know why.”

Chase knows that smile very well. It’s the same one he gets when he thinks about the good ol’ days with Stacey. “An ex?”

Tobi huffs a laugh, his smile widening a little in embarrassment. “Is it that obvious?”

Chase chuckles. He’s still in a strange place, with no idea where, or how he got here, and sure he died again, but in this moment, sat on the floor, just chilling with Tobi, it’s not all that bad.

“Are you okay?” Tobi asks, looking concerned. “I mean you were dead... For a while.” At least an hour, so far as Tobi’s aware.

Shuffling, Chase rubs at the back of his neck awkwardly, muttering something about it not being the first time that it’s happened. After Chad died doing that stunt, Stacey walking out and taking the kids, everything slowly just started crushing in on him and.... He trails off and Tobi doesn’t push. They just sit there. Yeah this feels a little less not bad.

After a moment Tobi starts to talk about everyone else in the building, making sure to go into detail about everyone’s ‘quirks’ hoping to distract Chase. There’s magic users, robots, Wilford, a cyborg, a tree spirit, Ed, a sort-of psychic, the Jims; then there’s the nightmare child, and the tweedle twins who are magic and manic.

Tobi gives a shrug. “We’re all a bit weird here. Coming back from the dead is almost normal in comparison.”

“What about you?”

“What?”

“You mentioned everyone but you. Does that mean you’re the normal one?” Tobi doesn’t even realise he missed himself out. He shakes his head. “So what are you?”

“A trans-reality traveller with no powers who became a superhero.”

There’s a beat before Chase just bursts out laughing. It’s not that funny but it’s also hilarious. Tobi smirks and gets to his feet, offering a hand to Chase.

“You ready to face the others?” He asks as Chase stands. Tobi gestures towards the door. “Everybody’s dying to meet you.” He frowns and then laughs. “Okay that may be a bad choice of words.”

Chase bursts out in laughter again. It’s more nervous than anything but also, geez, Tobi. At the prospect of meeting the others he’s hesitant. There is so much he doesn’t know but he can hardly hide in here forever. Running a hand through his hair out of nervous habit, he panics! Where’s his hat? He looks around frantically before spotting it on the table. He grabs it a little desperately and firmly pulls it onto his head.

Tobi raises an eyebrow at him but Chase just shrugs. It’s his hat. It’s important. With this hat, everything seems possible. Together they head out the door.

The next room appears to be packed with almost the entire building’s residents.

Bim is sat in the chair nearest to the door, his hands fiddling. He seems incredibly nervous. At the far end of the room King and Bing are sat watching the Jims trying to teach one of their card games to Marvin, the three of them sat on the floor. The poor magician looks at a complete loss. Mare is naturally sat nearby, watching but trying to look like he doesn’t care. Ed sits in the corner, carefully watching everybody while tapping away at his phone. Probably trying to sell something else. The Host is sat a reasonable distance away, perking up as he hears the door to the room open, giving a slight smile. Both Green and Dr Iplier are scurrying around, trying to organise things. Google and the others are noticeably absent.

As the two of them enter, everyone stops what they’re doing and looks up. It’s almost like something out of a horror movie and Chase grimaces. Bim jumps to his feet, looking concerned, stopping when Tobi holds up a hand to get him to stay back.

“Everybody. This is Chase.” The hero speaks clearly as he addresses the room and gestures to Chase. He smirks. “The immortal.”

The Real and the Unreal :

The Real holds humans and all they can see by themselves.

A contractor of the Void, slipped into the Unreal. Still part of the real.

The Void gives power for Lifeforce, Marvin is made of spite. Past Void contractors died fast but our little magician is too spite full for this bull.

Anti :

Demon, puppeteer, strings and knives. Obsessed with Life's Experiment. Of the Unreal.

Anti's "contracts" are lies, he promises the impossible and takes the poor soul leaving behind an empty shell.

Chase Brody (Life's Experiment):

Kinda Immortal, around 300 years old, a full human that cannot die by mortal means but will die of age, connected to the Unreal by his half immortality.

Life's goal was 10000 years but It shortened it by half as an act of "kindness". Nothing will ruin this for It, not even It's very guinea pig.

The difference between Marvin and Chase as Un-Reals:

Marv is connected through the Void, he just exists in both while Chase is in neither and simply roams the Earth. Marv is seen as extremely dangerous as the Void's only alive contractor, Chase just seems completely covered in white glowing strings (his injuries are stitched together by those LifeStrings).

This building is a madhouse! It’s filled with too many people who all look the same and more than once Chase has mistaken someone for someone else and it’s starting to screw with his head. That doesn’t even touch on the two people who look like him but with green hair. So he spends most of his time with either Bim or Tobi, the most normal ones he can find, and even then one of them is magic, and the other is a freaking superhero. Still they seem....relatively grounded.

A couple days after the meeting, Chase is sat on a chair throwing a bean bag someone managed to get for him up into the air and catching it while Tobi is helping Bim get ready for his latest date with Matthias. It’s really not Chase’s thing. Dating, partners. Big whole mess and they seem to understand that he doesn’t want to be involved.

Being outside the situation though, Chase notices the glances. The slight adulation when Tobi looks at Bim and the utter heartbreak when the TV show host turns his back. The second one is something he’s well acquainted with so he knows he isn’t imagining it.

Eventually, Bim is dressed sharp, wearing a big smille and out the door with a call to not wait up. Chase gives a wave back and wishes him luck before continuing to toss his beanbag.

Once he’s certain Bim isn’t going to come back for something he forgot, he speaks. “It’s always hard to see them happy with someone else.”

Tobi throws a ‘don’t go there’ glare at Chase before turning away to put away the various outfits they’d been through together. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Please.” Chase scoffs. “There are astronauts in orbit who can see how you feel about Bim.”

After a few moments of folding shirts, Tobi pauses, his back still to Chase.“He’s happy with Matthias.”

Chase gives a sigh. How are you supposed to argue with that? In the end you have to pick, would you rather they’re miserable or you’re miserable. Honestly, he doesn’t really like either option but the choices are limited, and is it really even a choice in the end?

“Have you tried dating?” he asks.

Tobi shrugs. “I had a girlfriend for a while.”

“Had?”

“I broke up with her. It wasn’t fair. I just wasn’t in it. And besides,” his lips pull into a small smile as he continues to tidy up, “I wanted to tell Bim everything.”

Chase catches the beanbag and sits forward. “So, what happened?”

“I walked in and Bim was getting ready for his first date with Matthias. I hadn’t seen him that happy before. So I stayed quiet, helped him get ready, and I walked out.”

Chase shakes his head. He couldn’t imagine resigning himself to helping Stacey prepare for her dates with someone else. No wonder those glances are slipping through when Bim isn’t looking. Honestly Chase thinks he would probably collapse under the strain.

After a moment, Tobi turns to Chase, a look of sad resignation on his face. “Do you fancy getting really, really drunk?”

“I’d love to.” he throws the beanbag up again. “Still can’t leave.”

“We have a bar.” It’s not a full bar. In fact it’s not even really a bar. It’s just a room for social drinking that they keep away from certain residents of the building like the Jims and Bing because none of them should be drinking.

Chase sits forward in shock, the momentarily forgotten beanbag landing on his head. “You what?!”

my version of the egos:

Jackieboy Man: Is the eldest (based on him being the first ego to appear on Jack’s channel). He often comes home late at night with injuries he tries to hide. Chase and Henrik are always up waiting for him and he appreciates it. He is a bit of a daredevil and sometimes forgets he’s not exactly immortal. He has super strength which is sort of a blessing and a curse. He stands at 5’10”. He is always arguing with Chase about how they should handle Anti when he does stupid shit. Is twins with Marvin.

Marvin the Magnificent: Second eldest. He is constantly creating new spells down stairs in the basement, which is where he spends most of his time. He is smart and very down to earth. He is addicted to coffee which Henrik is almost positive only has 10% actual coffee and 90% potion of some sort. He is 5’10” Just like Jackieboy as they are only a few minutes apart age wise. 

Dr. Henrik Von Shneeplestien: Henrik is the third eldest and honestly the most mature along with his youngest sibling Jameson Jackson. He is the only one with a full time, paying job and feels he doesn’t get enough recognition for this fact. He mostly keeps to himself in his office. He stands at 5’8”. He is constantly getting on everyone’s case about the stupid shit that gets them hurt and has officially confiscated all of Anti’s HUGE knife collection, Much to Anti’s disapproval.

Antisepticeye: Anti is the fourth eldest the shortest at 4’9” which he can’t get Jackieboy to stop pointing out every time Anti goes off on an angry tangent of some sort. He has major anger issues and in Henrik and Chase’s opinion hangs with the wrong crowd (Dark, Blank, Wilford, Google, the Host). Anti is depressed but the only person he’s ever told is Chase. He has a huge ass knife collection that has been confiscated by Henrik. He tends to sneak out at night to go do stuff with his gang. He likes to glitch into the basement at random times and scare the shit outta Marvin.

Chase Brody: Chase is the fifth oldest and is depressed like we all know but he learned sign language and taught Jameson Jackson how to use it. He treats all his brothers like his own kids and loves them with all his heart. Even though Anti is a little shit. Anti also opens up to Chase about his depression eventually but makes Chase swear not to tell any of the others, he’s 5′6″.

Jameson Jackson: Is the youngest sibling of the egos but stands at a whopping 6’3”. He’s what you could consider a big softie or a friendly giant. He had an accident when he was young that caused him to become mute and deaf. Chase taught him sign language and Marvin has tried (and sadly failed) to try and bring back Jameson’s hearing and speech. Jameson looks up to all his brothers and tends to follow Anti around which makes it hard for Anti to sneak out (doesn’t stop him though the little shit).

Anti   (Usually the softer kind, has green emerald glowings eyes which turn staticy blue when hes vulnerable/being open/himself. He can be an asshole though and does in deed take out bad guys with his knife.)

Jameson Jackson  (Mute but does actually still have a voice- his vocals are in ruins and he's kinda dealing with poor eating making him dangerously skinny. He works as a bartender and has silver tipped brown hair that's a little bit longer than the others.)

Crank  (Robot Ethan ego. He’s an utter mess- eyes sometimes fizzle out, joints stiff, has emotional issues. He also has a corrupted voice in his head that is real nasty when he pops up and sometimes takes over their shared frame.)

Blank  (Fricking soft boy, his aura is hard to control and sometimes controls him. He has a rare heart issues which makes him prone to fainting and collpasing without much warning.  Still, he tries.) 

Jackieboyman   (Super hero boy! Super buff, caring, kind, and tol.  Lilac/Gold eyes. Little odd strip of red in his brown hair. The best voice.  Works as a gas station worker to hide his identity (he looks great in the blue button up and glasses.) He.’s ftm trans. Sometimes I HC him as a phionex other times he has pretty golden whips of light.)

King of the Squirrels   (Otherwise known as Simon. He’s a hybrid, Tail, ears. Omega. Very sweet, little skittsh and frzzled. Wears glasses and cozy sweaters- likes making nests and being out in nature. Loves PB but is actually allergic..doesn’t keep him from eating it though.)

Henrick Von Schneeplestien  (Grumpy german doctor who lives off of coffee. He is willing to assist those in need and really needs to sleep.)

Chase Brody  (He’s got his youtube channel and a bunch of positive vibes! He’s strugglign sometimes with depression but its not always so bad. Sometimes he had real bad migrains though, and he also suffers from chornic fatigue making his days shorter or hard to get teverything done.)

Wilford Warfstache  (We know him, lover of bubbles and pink. Talks funny, loves candy. Chubby man.) 

Yandere  (Nonbinary somewaht MTF.  They’re a real cutie, will punch dickheads without a sweat and really just want someone to be their senpai and let them fall for them head over heels without running away..) 

Were-Eth  (Ethan got bit by a werewolf and now deals with that. Basically an Ethan muse with a small twist. He’s absoultely adorable with the tail and ears and sharp teef.)

Mark  (Abused and kidnapped by Author My Mark is a little bit softer then the guy he’s based on. He’s a little bit shorter and alot more anxious and unsure of himself thanks to Author breaking him down. He’s vcovered in lots of scars spescfially his wrist’s and does not like water much. )

Bing.  (Tries his hardest to be good, bit glitchy but he’s chill. He tries to skate, and jokes wen nervous. He’s pretty sweet though.) 

Edward Iplier  (Absoulte adorable dork, He tries to help everyone and anyone no matter what- I’ve kinda fallen in love with the idea of him only having one arm but that’s only one of many ideas. He loves space, he’s chubby and also loves food. He’s got a prety neat aura ablity too.) 

Robbie.  (Soft grape zombie boy. He’s sweet and innocent as ever. He’s easily th e shyest of the bunch and doesn’t always talk to much. He loves getting affection though and is always eager to please.)

Small bois- These boys are pocket sized! though sometimes I do like to think about them being human sized ^^.

Kiyan. (A little assistant android. Created to assist! He works at a post office currently. Pronouns do not matter to him though its usually he/they/it.)

Glowstick bubs (They are tiny boys who glow like well- glowsticks but also lavalamps, very pretty to look at. and theyre nocturnal!)

JellyBubs! (A collection of tiny sentient jelly babies, The main one being strawberry aka Jeri. They dont mind what you calm them but usually they works best.)

Hamrish Benat  (Also goes by Hami/Hayden. He/him. 4 eyes, soft tongue. PTSD. Super soft boy. Loves soap cutting videos (and doing it himself) and bears/plushies - Has an arrange of cute face masks. Is a trained nurse and learning to be a pediatrician.)

Liren Pichi (Deaf peaches n cream boi- Nickname Pichi.  He wasn’t part of the squad- however he did end up landing on their planet- he had some rough encounters with the aliens ^^)

Lots of point ass teef.

Hyacinth ( A six-armed demon. Grows flowers on his skin based on emotions. He’s a huge mother hen, will care for anyone. Enjoys cooking and gardening and children.  He/Him)

Rhys  (They/Them. A Demon with a great curiosity about humans) Feri  (The sibling of Ryhs)

Anthos (Rhys and Hy’s summoned accidental toddler.. He has a cute tail and tinnny horns.  He/him)

Douglas Connelly  (He/Him A regular chubby human bean! Loves baking and music.)

Donovan Amores  (He/Him/ Real fricking cool and smokin hot Bartender with a love for dogs. Dougs roommate. Has glowing fuckin orbs- donates his heart- is smooth as fuck, background heavily Spanish (moved when young.))

Haris Alaksim Real name (lost in translation  (Huitzilopochtli God of sun and war) ) - A god whom Dono is very close with and donates his heart two one every 3 years during the day of the highest sun. He is a god / Mouros.  Donovan refers to him as “Dios gentil”  or “ Viejo colibrí sabio”   (“El viejo colibrí sabio es un dios gentil” (The old wise hummingbird is a gentle god.)

Oscar  (He/Him.  Not sure what trinket or power but He’s just a casual store worker w/ good arms. Surprisingly good with knives- perhaps has one from Haris?)

Nicole  (She/her/they/them.  Makes clothes..possibly got some ability to do with seasons..?  Perhaps earrings or a bracelet from Haris)

Javi  (Makes jam, cute boy, wears cloaks. Has a cute little jar necklace  ^ a proper sized magic jar.  Doesn’t mind whatever pronouns but usually prefers he/him/boy.)

Luca (FTM Trans bookkeeper- Talks to Haris most often and likes to ask questions..Has precious books…Possibly a special pen..)

Forest bois:

Cypress (The soul of the forest - Mentor of Rem. Doesn't mind what you call him but usually leans masculine.)

Unicorn boi (Yet to be fleshed out. Hes got very rare blood- lost his horn and lives with a giant inside of a bubble?  He/him/it)

Fyn. (Mushroom boy. Protects a gate. Lost his twin in a fire caused by humans.. He/him)

Fie. (Bat boy. Love fruit. Is ironically scared of the dark- shy but cute. He/Him)

Moh. (Fairy/incubus hybrid.  They/them)

Tucker. (Bunny hybrid- cool guy with bunny ears and a tail. Soft white patches on his chest. Got a bit of an attitude but is chill- is also friends with Ainsley. He/him but is usually mistaken for a girl because he by bunny standards is..)

Ainsley. (Fawn boy. Wears glasses. Much like a deer, skittish and nerdy and keeps to himself. Tries to keep Tucker out of trouble but usually ends up dragged along instead)

Experiments:

Izekiel  Iris (A being of Paint!  Stutter, anxious, hallucinates. Zones out alot. An amazing artist though. He/him though has feminine tendencies.)

Matty   (An experiment, part human, part lizard, part dragon. Much smol and cute. Hes very quiet, selectively mute on occasion. Lots of scars and trauma, scars on his arms and constantly needs to wear bandages. Very easily tired. he/him.)

Nes. (Based of off Crankgameplays as face claim but he’s basically his own thing at this point. He��s been through alot of angst and trauma and some really nasty stuff ^^’ (He killed his parents, the ice cream truck driver tried to abduct him, he was experimented on in a very bad place, and now he's an utter wreck who will cling to anyone who gives him the time of day. He has murder tenancies but is full of guilt and hates whenever he hurts anyone. Lots of panics. Very hard to handle if you aren’t patient.)
