I construct my music tastes out of YouTube lyrics videos recommendations, the soundtracks of TV shows, musicals my friends rec, and whatever fanfic series I just recently read. Needless to say, my recently listened to is a strange mash up of Mumford & Sons, The Killers, Legally Blonde: the Musical, and Lil Nas X

AOTD 12-29-2023 - Imploding the Mirage (The Killers)
[All albums are rated subjectively based off my own enjoyment]
5/10
Well, lowest album I've rated, and by a band that has a track in my top 10? How could it be?
Each song sounds like if Cheesy 80's pop was fused with their usual mid-west rock sound. For the first few songs, yeah sure I can get behind this. But then the next song came. And the next song. And the next song. And they all sound the same. By the time I was half way through the album I had lost nearly all interest. That's Not Good for an album to do.
This is an album where the songs suffer from being on the same album. Most of them sound the same. It took a few different directions with Lightning Fields and Fire In Bone, but even then those tracks were either lackluster or off kilter to my tastes. Listening back the first few songs still sounded a bit better than the lader half, but it still suffered from the Samey-ness that turned me off half way through.
My highlight has to be Caution. It has a very long (45 second) ambient intro before moving into a quicker beat that drives you to it's sudden chorus right quick, where Brandon jumps up half an octave to an A4 to launch you into it. It pretty much the only moment in the album that pushed me back in my seat a bit.
I listened through the Bonus Track, C'est La Vie in the Deluxe Edition and... Yeah this song is NOT very good either. No saving grace for The Killers today. I won't be factoring it into the final album review, as it's not on the original album.
Cannot say I'll be recommending this album to many, but maybe one or two songs from it.
Favorite Songs: Caution
Least Favorite Songs: Running Towards A Place, My God, C'est La Vie (bonus track)

the great thing about buying tickets to the eras tour was it was a once in a lifetime show for my favorite artist in the world. so now if I see concert tickets that are more expensive I can say "who do you think you are? good day sir." and I close the tab.
