Worldbuilding #2
Solarian Academy Majors and Mechs
Solarian Academies:
There are other academies on the capital planet of the Interstellar Republic.
- The Academy of Military Science (AMS)
- The Academy of Combat (AC)
- The Institute of War and Defense (IWD)
- The Military Center of Excellence (MCE)
- The School of Strategic Warfare (SSW)
The Academy of Combat (AC) would have subjects on Mecha piloting, as it would be helpful for combat.
Alchemy refinement and Mecha Engineering and Mecha Piloting would probably be taught at the Institute of War and Defense (IWD). This is because Alchemy refinement is used for weapons and Mecha Engineering could be used for mech weapons and defense systems.
The Military Center of Excellence (MCE) likely focuses on tactics, training, and strategies. Things that are used for military combat, such as weaponry, defense systems, and maneuvering in combat.
The School of Strategic Warfare (SSW) is focused on strategies, tactics, and plans to defeat opponents in war. Things like espionage, intelligence gathering, and how to organize troops and resources for war.
The Academy of Military Science (AMS) likely covers topics such as history of war, technology, and military sciences. Things that relate to military history, technology, and how science can be used in warfare. It would likely also include topics such as leadership and strategy, as these are important in military leadership and command.
Majors at Institute of War and Defense (IWD):
Mecha Piloting:
The qualifications for piloting a Mech can vary depending on the type of Mech and the environment it is used in, but usually it requires some form of training and expertise in controlling the machine through a complex control system. Mecha piloting could involve using mecha to gain an advantage in combat through strategic maneuvering and use of weaponry.
Piloting a mech would require mental strength and quick reaction time, and it could be difficult to also use mental intention to manipulate runes at the same time.
Mech pilots would have the benefit of being able to control a powerful and imposing mech with its sophisticated systems and weaponry, which could provide a significant edge over the enemy in many combat situations. They would also need to have strong mental capabilities that allow them to think quickly and act decisively, as well as the ability to handle intense stress and pressure in high-stakes situations. They would also need to be able to work well with a team to coordinate their actions and strategies effectively.
During a battle, a pilot might be able to diagnose and fix minor mechanical issues such as faulty electrical systems, dysfunctional software updates, or weapon malfunctions. They might also be able to detect and repair damage from enemy attacks, like armor repairs or patching damaged hull components.
Alchemy:
Alchemy in interstellar times is likely to be more like Xianxia pill concocting, with focus on creating pills and potions that have specific powers and effects, rather than transmutation. This is because transmutation requires a lot of energy and time, and would not be as practical for an interstellar civilization.
Alchemists in the interstellar era could potentially use various materials to create potions and pills with specific powers and effects, such as:
Elemental materials like water, earth, fire, and wind, which could be used to create elemental potions with different effects.
Wind can be used as an elemental material by alchemists in the interstellar era through wind runes. Wind runes give the alchemist power over the wind element through their writing.
Alchemists can incorporate wind runes into the potions and pills they create, allowing them to give those potions and pills wind-based properties or effects. For example, a wind potion could be used to create powerful winds that could blow away opponents or protect allies. Runes can also be etched into materials.
Rune writing is an additional specialization of alchemy or can be a separate field entirely, depending on how you decide to learn it. Rune writing is combined with alchemy, it allows for more powerful or more complex potions and pills to be created, as well as the ability to customize effects and properties for different scenarios and situations. Elemental runes are easier to learn than more complex runes, providing a good basis for learning rune writing for students and alchemists. This allows rune writing to be more accessible, and allows for a more gradual progression from elemental runes to complex runes. Complex runes require specialists to learn, making rune writing a specialized skill set that's harder to master.
Space or alien materials from other planets and galaxies, which could be used to create potions with unique properties and effects.
Alchemy could be integrated into military tactics in various ways. For example, alchemists could create potions or poisons to be used in strategic attacks against enemies, or they could refine materials used in weapons and equipment in order to create more powerful and effective weapons and armor. Alchemy students could be responsible for creating alchemy-powered ammo and fuel for the mecha's weapons, while mech pilots focus on piloting the mecha and using the weapons and equipment to take down opponents. This would require collaboration between the two groups to optimize the effectiveness of the weapons and achieve the desired outcome in battle.
I think there could be a point in a pilot learning runes. It would expand the pilot's skill set and give them more options in battle situations where they might need to rely on their own abilities instead of a mech's capabilities. Knowing runes could allow a pilot to create temporary elemental items, such as elemental weapons or gear, to help them in combat. This could be especially useful when they are not using a mech, or when their mech's system is down or malfunctioning.
Writing runes could work in various ways. Here are some potential methods of rune writing:
* Drawing or carving the runes manually with a pen or other implement onto a surface.
* Reciting the runes aloud by a set sequence.
* Writing the rune through thought or mental intention (requires high level mental strength (B-Level and up) and complete knowledge of rune)
Drawing runes manually or reciting them aloud don't seem like viable options in a combat situation where the pilot needs to act quickly. Rune writing through thought or mental intention would allow the pilot to create or manipulate runes without needing to physically interact with them in any way. This gives more flexibility in battle situations where time is crucial, while also providing some room for skill development and nuance for those who are master rune writers.
Rune writers may need to provide support to the mechs in battle situations. The rune writer could potentially provide support from a distance without being physically inside the mech itself. This could give the mech an advantage of having the support of a powerful rune writer while still allowing the pilot to focus on piloting the mech. However, the rune writer may not be able to provide as strong of a support from a distance as if they were inside the mech with the pilot. This could be because the effects of their runes would be limited by distance, or because they would have better access to the mech's systems and capabilities if they were inside with the pilot.
The mental strength of the rune writer would play a role when providing support from a distance, as a more powerful mental strength allows for further distance and a broader range of support. This means that a rune writer with high mental strength could provide support for multiple mechs during a battle, while those with low mental strength may be limited to providing support for just one or two mechs.
Alchemists and rune writers would both play important roles in interplanetary combat. While rune writers would be important for providing support for mechs, alchemists could focus on creating potions and pills that give mecha pilots added protection or other enhancements.
Alchemists can play important support roles for mechs and pilots. From an engineering perspective, alchemists could provide power and fuel for the mech's engines via alchemical potions or fuel that have elemental properties. For support in battle, alchemists could also create alchemy-infused runes to enhance the mecha's weapons or defenses, or to provide additional enhancements to the pilot's capabilities such as improved vision or strength. Alchemists can also create potions that aid in the recuperation of mental strength, which would be useful for pilots who need to keep control of their mechs for extended periods of time.
Alchemy-infused runes would be runes that have been infused with alchemy or have alchemy properties. This could be done through methods such as creating rune-infused potions or carving runes into specialized materials or artifacts. Alchemy-infused runes could have a variety of effects, ranging from enhancing the potency of runes to adding additional effects, such as creating elemental properties or protection.
It is potentially possible to use a rune to enhance a rune. This could be done through techniques such as layering runes together, carving runes into special items, or designing runes with complex sequences and patterns that create powerful effects. However, that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be limitations or drawbacks to this process. These enhancing runes could potentially have higher levels of maintenance or power usage, or require higher levels of skill to create and use. Additionally, the endless enhancement of runes through the combination and layering of runes could create diminishing returns, as well as a potential for rune dissonance.
Alchemical Runes can be used to enhance and manipulate the properties of materials and energy, including the antimatter itself. Specifically, Runes can be used to reduce the energy cost of producing antimatter through a combination of enhancement and manipulation. Runes can be used to enhance the energy efficiency and conservation of the antimatter production process, while simultaneous Rune manipulation can be used to alter the properties of the antimatter itself, decreasing the energy needed for creation.
Alchemists are an essential part of the galactic community in the Interstellar Era, and their skills and services go beyond just the repair and support of mech suits. Not only are alchemists useful in combat, but they can also provide valuable services in many other areas such as medicine and healing, technology and information, politics and governance, and economy and trade. The Interstellar Era alchemists are a diverse and versatile group of professionals who contribute much to the galactic society.
Research into runes for radiation resistance would have been highly supported by both military and mercantile forces, as they are the main beneficiaries of radiation resistance. The military would be interested in runes for providing protection during radiation-filled combat zones and dangerous missions, while mercantile forces would be interested in runes for protecting their trade routes and infrastructure. This research would have led to the development of various specialized runes for different types of radiation and environments, making radiation resistance an important aspect of Interstellar Era survival and development.
Some of the main technological tools used by Interstellar Era alchemists include:
1. Digital databases containing information on various materials and their properties, as well as known formulas and reactions.Elementum Database: This database contains a wide range of information on various materials, their properties, known formulas and reactions, and potential uses including in Alchemy.
2. Advanced instruments and sensors for measuring various physical properties of materials, such as elemental composition and molecular structure. Elementum Spectrometer: This instrument is used to measure the elemental composition of a material and its molecular structures.
3. Advanced devices for measuring and analyzing energies, such as those used for refining essences. Elemental Energy Analyzer: This device is used to measure and analyze the elemental energy found in a material.
4. Automated systems for mixing and combining materials quickly and efficiently. Mixture Automation Station: This automated system enables efficient mixing of materials according to a given formula or recipe.
5. Advanced chemical synthesizers and synthesizing equipment for producing various compounds.
Some of the main processes that have been developed for Interstellar Era Alchemy are:
1. Atom Reactivity Testing: This process is used to determine the reactivity of atoms within a material and their potential reactions.
2. Structure Analysis: This process is used to analyze the structural properties of a material and determine its potential uses
3. Energy Synthesis: This process is used to synthesize and combine energies in order to create new compounds or materials.
These new processes are aimed at determining the potency and efficacy of ingredients and their interactions. The potency of an ingredient can be measured by its reactivity and structure. The efficacy of an ingredient's interactions with other ingredients can be determined by the structure and reactivity of the ingredient and its potential reactions. These processes help to identify and analyze potency and efficacy, ensuring that the ingredients used in Alchemy are of the highest power and quality.
Mecha Engineering:
Mecha Engineering could contribute to military tactics in terms of developing and maintaining different types of mecha, such as mecha weapons and defense systems, as well as creating specialized mecha for different types of warfare.
As a mecha engineer, you would have the skills and knowledge necessary to design, construct, and maintain mechs. This involves understanding materials and structural designs, and being able to innovate and improve on existing designs. You would also have the ability to coordinate with other engineers and pilots during the building and testing process.
In a war-torn and desperate setting, having those skills to maintain, repair, and build mech units would be extremely valuable and would provide a huge benefit to a faction or government.
Mecha engineers are responsible for designing and building mechs, which are then piloted or used by pilots. Without either of these roles, mechs would not be able to fight in combat or perform missions, making both roles essential to the overall success of a faction or government.
Pilots would need a basic understanding of mecha engineering so that they can diagnose and troubleshoot any issues that come up with their mechs while in combat. At the same time, mechs might have special operational quirks due to unique piloting techniques that engineers need to be familiar with and take into consideration when designing and building new mechs. So pilots should have basic knowledge of mecha engineering, and engineers would have a more in-depth understanding of piloting.
Larger issues that pilots cannot fix on their own would need to be addressed after the battle by Mecha  Engineers, such as any complex system damages, major mechanical repairs, or software updates that could potentially crash the mech's OS. In some cases, those larger issues might completely incapacitate the mech, leaving them a sitting duck on the battlefield. Unfortunately, there's always that possibility of unexpected software bugs and glitches happening, especially during intense battle situations.
Mechs:
If mechs are made using nanotechnology, it would likely change the way mecha engineers design and construct mechs in several ways. For one, the materials used to construct mechs would be much stronger and lighter, which could make mechs faster and more agile compared to conventional mechs. Additionally, the use of nanotechnology could also allow for more flexible shapes and structural designs for mechs, allowing them to fit their roles and functions better.
Nanorobots could potentially be used to repair mechs in battle, allowing for more durable and functional mechs over long periods of time. It's hard to say how much damage a mech could take before becoming scrap metal, as it would depend on many factors including the type of damage, the construction of the mech's hull, and the intensity of the battle. The nanobots would play a key role in healing and repairing the mech's hull, and they could potentially prevent a lot of damage from happening in the first place. However, if the damage is substantial enough, it could still cause fatal systems malfunctions or critical structural failures that could lead to the mech becoming a total write-off on the battlefield.
The inner anatomy of mechs typically follows a certain structure, such as having a cockpit/control center, internal systems and electronics, power source and generator, and other specialized components. The inner anatomy may vary depending on the type of mech and its intended use, which means that there could be various internal structures.
The cooling system and hydraulic motors would typically be classified as specialized components as they are specific to the mech's functions and usage. The cooling system helps to manage the heat generated from internal systems and systems used in combat, while hydraulic motors control the movement and operation of the mech's joints and extremities.
Fluid lines are definitely important for mech functionality, especially when battling on land or in environments with air pressure. Without these fluid lines, the mech might have difficulty moving or be unresponsive due to stuck joints.
It's likely that mechs would need multiple energy sources to make sure that the mech remains functional even if one power source is damaged or tampered with. The additional energy sources would provide redundancy, allowing the mech to operate even if one of them gets damaged or otherwise made unavailable. It would also help to ensure a more reliable and durable mech in general, which would be important for combat situations and other challenging missions.
Some Mech have some form of semi-autonomy, where its systems and software can act independently within certain parameters set by the pilot or system. This might involve autonomous targeting or firing of weapons systems, automatic repairs and adjustments of certain mech components, as well as other tasks that can be done without direct pilot control or supervision.
Having that level of semi-autonomy could be beneficial, as it could enable the mech to perform certain functions even when the pilot is incapacitated or distracted, allowing it to keep fighting or remain operational.
The mecha's response could be quite complex and involve a multi-step process.
The mech would first need a way to detect and determine if the pilot is incapacitated. The most logical way would be to monitor the pilot's vital signs constantly. This would allow the mech to automatically detect and recognize if there is a sudden dip in the pilot's vital signs or other signs of potential incapacitation, such as an unexpected and sudden disengagement. As for differentiating between an incapacitated pilot and the pilot deboarding, the mech could be programmed with certain conditions that need to be met before it recognizes the pilot as incapacitated.
I think that some examples of conditions that the mech would need to detect and recognize in order for it to recognize the pilot as incapacitated could be:
1. A sudden and unexpected drop in vital signs such as heart rate, breathing rate, or blood pressure.
2. A lack of physical activity from the pilot, which the mech's motion sensors could detect.
3. The sudden disengagement of the pilot's mental focus from the mech, which the mech's psychometric systems could recognize.
The monitoring of vital signs might not necessarily get in the way of the pilot, as it could be a relatively unobtrusive process. Vital signs could be monitored through a combination of sensors and technologies that are embedded into the mech's cockpit or interior, which might allow for continuous monitoring without disrupting the pilot's abilities. These technologies may involve advanced biomonitors or nanotechnology-based sensors that can detect vital signs non-invasively and accurately.
Since the pilot is the primary operator and controls of the mech, an incapacitated pilot is not good news for the mech. It means that the mech's systems and functions would not be able to be controlled directly by the pilot. In such a situation, the mech's semi-autonomy might play a key role. If programmed to have the proper emergency protocols and responses in place, the mech could respond accordingly to the incapacitated pilot and perform certain tasks to maintain effectiveness or survive in the battle.
Once the mecha has determined that the pilot is incapacitated, it would likely need to take certain protective measures to ensure its own survival. These could include blocking off restricted systems or controlling certain functions remotely, as well as moving away from the danger and back to a safe location.
Depending on how advanced the mecha is, it might also be able to make its own navigation and course determination independently, without needing pilot input. However, this would likely require a highly advanced mech model with enough sensors and data processing capabilities. Sensors and autonomous systems may not be able to compensate for the pilot's real-time, on-site perspective. It's possible that a highly advanced mech could potentially make decisions based on its sensory and mapping capabilities alone, but that doesn't mean that the pilot is redundant.
The human element that a mech pilot provides can be irreplaceable, with their ability to perceive and respond to the environment in a way that sensors and machines may not always be able to replicate or predict.
Mech-on-mech battles would likely involve a wide variety of weapons, ranging from advanced laser, plasma, and missile systems to more conventional kinetic or explosive weapons. Some potential advantages of each type of weapon could be:
* Laser, plasma, and missile systems could have longer ranges and faster targeting speeds due to their ability to home in on enemy mechs, allowing for more precise attacks.
* Kinetic or explosive weapons would have a greater force and damage potential compared to other types of weapons, allowing for more devastating outcomes in a close range combat situation.
The energy requirements of mechs could differ depending on their design and functionality. However, some common energy sources for mechs include:
1. Fusion reactors, which provide a stable and efficient source of energy for mechs, allowing them to stay operational for long periods of time without the need for refueling.
2. Solar cells, which can convert solar energy into electrical energy that can power a mech's systems and functions.
Fusion energy is very stable and can be used safely in close proximity to humans with minimal effects. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that although fusion energy is a relatively safe and environmentally friendly source of energy, it can still generate high-energy radiation, requiring some level of safety precautions. Thus, careful management and use of protection measures, such as shielding and radiation suits, are recommended for safety purposes when handling or working with fusion energy. As the Interstellar Era involves a great deal of space exploration and colonization, radiation protection is of vital importance for both humans and mechs.
Radiation suits for humans and mech armor would indeed possess radiation resistance, but the level of protection required would depend on the specific environment and energy sources present in the environment. Also, while physical protection measures are certainly vital for radiation resistance, additional measures like anti-radiation medicine and radiation-proofed buildings may be needed to ensure complete safety from radiation.

Information from Stable View on Friday News &
Tumblr media
Despite some challenging weather conditions, the English Eventing season officially kicked off next week. However, that is what one might expect in Blighty at this time of year. After making his 5* album in France next Autumn, Helen Bates ‘ Carpe Diem was undoubtedly glad to be eventing once more. Helen had her sights on an additional 5* with her specific” Demon” when I spoke to her in the depths of winter. Will she be registering for basketball? There is still time to wait, and we will see. Although I’m not sure about you, the thought of the Spring 5*’s on both flanks of the water makes me want to cry. Eventing Nation can of course be bringing you all the action as it unfolds …the clock is in!
Happy International Women’s Day, everyone! How fortunate are we to include a game where both men and women are regarded as similar? I hope you enjoy this special model of News &amp, Notes, which is dedicated to the people of our game, in honor of IWD.

Friday Reading and News
With the return of her Grand Prix actor Franziskus FRH, Ingrid Klimke, as Tilly mentioned on Tuesday, is a strong contender for the European dressage group this year in Paris. But she wo n’t stop herself from aiming for a spot on the eventing team as well. Ingrid made it clear at a workshop last week that she had a program to get SAP Asha P qualified for the Olympics if she had not ruled out competing in both subjects. I for one would not be in the least astonished if Ingrid pulled it off with Ingrid’s skill and practice. In fact, I’d wager money on her achieving a podium finish in both fields as well.
There is no denying that women are currently at the top of our activity; the reigning Western, World, and Olympic champions are all ladies, and four of the nation’s 5* titles are currently being held by women as well. However, it has n’t always been that way, and Lana DuPont Wright was one of the women responsible for upholding the status quo way back in the day. She and Mr. Wister helped the US team to win a Magic medal, making her the first person to engage in eventing at the Olympics. If Ingrid needs any ideas, she can turn to Lana, who won Team Gold at the World Pairs Driving Championships after in her career and was successful in a second control as well. That’s Girl Power, exactly!
I want to take you inside the life and career of Ros Canter, one of the most renowned ladies in recent years of our game. She is the most recent guest on Dan Bizarro’s radio, giving an intriguing insight into her approach to the game, saying,” It is just a job,” as well as her desires for an Olympic prize. Ros on the floor in Paris is another imagine I’m willing to place, despite the fact that I seem to be placing cash on a lot of things this year.

International Women’s Day 2023 with MBE Franchisee, Nadia Jonker
International Women’s Day (IWD) has been celebrated globally for over 100 years. Marked annually on 8 March, IWD aims to promote the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, to educate and raise awareness for women’s equality and call for positive change to advance women.
It may seem surprising, but there is still a long way to go until women achieve true parity with men in the workplace. And, although it’s no longer unusual to see a woman at the head of her own business, attitudes are slow to change.
We talked to entrepreneur Nadia Jonker, who recently took over the MBE franchise in Banbury, Oxfordshire, about what her business venture means to her and whether she has faced an particular challenges.
From the ground up
Nadia has a strong business background. Having worked in a corporate technology environment she has experience in business administration, financial management and leading a team. She has also been involved in several start-ups.
As a longstanding customer of the MBE centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire, when Nadia found out that the owners were retiring she knew she wanted to take over the store so that she could continue to offer fulfilment, shipping, mailbox services, print and marketing support to the local community. “I also wanted to modernise the business, build something from the ground up,” she says.
While starting a business is challenging enough, Nadia also faced an unforeseen setback when the store suffered flooding just after she had taken it over in late 2022. “The interior was badly affected and I had to fund the entire refurbishment, replacing the floors, repainting the walls etc., before we could begin refitting the store to bring it up to date. This was in addition to recruiting and managing a team, managing my resources and revisiting my sales and marketing skills.”
She was very grateful for all the start-up support offered by the MBE head office team, although she acknowledges that much of the responsibility for getting the store up and running fell to her: “It’s hard when you’re on the ground. You really have to be prepared to do everything yourself.”
Now Nadia has one member of staff to support her and is considering taking on another person because the store is becoming busier. “We’ve put up new branding and signage inside and we’ll soon be rebranding the exterior,” she says. “I feel as though my vision for the store is gradually being realised.”
Tumblr media
Growing the business
Looking to the future, Nadia would like to grow her Auction Logistics business and believes there’s great potential in the area: “There are five big auction houses locally that have started using our bespoke delivery service. I have taken over all the shipping business for one of them, which is great.”
The store’s demographic is fairly affluent, although like many areas Banbury has pockets of deprivation. Being located just off the high street also means there isn’t as much passing traffic as Nadia would like: “We need to find away of attracting customers from the local community – particularly small businesses,” she says. “But people are slow to change and often prefer using their existing suppliers. What’s key is being able to show them the added value we can bring. For example, our shipping expertise means we can iron out any post-Brexit paperwork complications for our customers.”
Another hurdle is convincing people that the store still offers the same mix of services and personal attention as before. “I call it ‘new face syndrome’,” says Nadia. “A lot of customers are quite traditional and were used to the store being owned by the same husband-and-wife team for twenty years. We’re trying hard to acclimatise them to the change, and I’m please to say we’ve had a lot of positive feedback.”
More of a revelation has been the tendency of some customers to be surprised that there’s a woman in charge. “A lot of people just seem to prefer to talk to a man. They will look straight past me and talk to my employee, James. Sometimes they even ask me if my husband is there! But I enjoy winning them round.”
Changing attitudes
It does seem that even in 2023, there is clearly still a need for movements like International Women’s Day to help change attitudes and normalise the concept of women heading their own businesses.
Nadia’s advice to women who want to make their mark is clear: “Be persistent. Take advantage of the resources available to you. Reach out to other women business owners and learn from them.
“Being part of the MBE network is great. It’s good to work with a well-known brand, but they will also give you the opportunity to create something that is your own and you can put your own twist on it.”

Highlight the importance of women in the sustainability of mountain areas.
Tumblr media
Every year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March.
The theme for International Women’s Day on 2022 (IWD 2022) is, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, recognising the contribution of women and girls, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all.
This coincides with the fact that the United Nations General Assembly has designated 2022 as the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development. In addition, the Mountain Partnership Secretariat at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations will dedicate the next International Mountain Day, on 11 December 2022, to the theme of Women move mountains. This year the focus is on the key role that women play in environmental protection and social and economic development in mountain areas.
In line with all this, MOVING (Mountain Valorisation through Interconnectedness and Green growth) is a Horizon 2020 project (2020-2024) that aims to build capacities and co-develop policy frameworks across Europe for the establishment of new or improved Value Chains (VCs), contributing to resilience and sustainability of mountain areas, valorising local assets, and delivering private and public goods.
For MOVING, gender equality is a key element in its research and innovation activities. The project aims to ensure and promote gender equality in different aspects related to research and management. Gender and age dimensions are key components of the human and social capital of mountain areas, these are therefore used as main parameters in the vulnerability assessment of the 23 VCs of the Reference Regions.
Young people and women are considered drivers of change in the mountain framework, specific actions have been defined to guarantee their active engagement in the co-design of potential measures and to enhance their role in the mountain regions. The research questions for the 23 case studies, and for cross-case comparisons, will address specifically the issues of barriers faced by young people and women in the access to markets and resources.
Gender has also been taken into account on the constitution of the MOVING Community of Practice (CoP). The MOVING CoP is an European-wide Science-Society-Policy interface built upon:
23 regional Multi-Actor Platforms (MAPs) established in the 23 Reference Regions
1 European-level Multi-Actor Platform (EU MAP)
External actors
The CoP has set itself the target that at least 25% of the members of the CoP will be women. As of today, putting together the number of members of the regional MAPs, MOVING has 524 stakeholders of which 69% are men and 31% are women. As regards the EU MAP, there are a total of 44 members, of which 55% are women and 45% are men.
The project will keep working on the identification and involvement of women in all its activities.

Hire Offshore Graphic Designer
A graphic designer ensures that your brand’s identity is consistent across all digital media. They create and deliver visual presentations in order to raise brand recognition, trust, and lead generation. A graphic designer must collaborate with the content management team to create concise, legible copies in addition to focusing on design and layouts. They prioritize communicating your brand’s message through commercials, promotions, banners, social media, and conventional materials.
Tumblr media
A graphic designer is not for everyone who knows how to create. While design, layout, and visual cues are vital, the brand’s identity takes precedence. They use many aesthetic principles like arrangement, size, color, and typeface to deliver your brand’s message. It’s essential to hire a skilled graphic designer who can distinguish your brand on the internet.

writtings Cae 1) It is widely understood that on March 8 we honor women's velour, as a way of expressing thanks to each and every woman in one's life.  Yet, is an International Women's Day (IWD) really needed? By the way, we do not ignore how long women have struggled for their freedoms, and how many occasions they have been abused, harassed or put down.  In reality, women often fall prey to several accidents and equality is far from being achieved. Despite of this, the date was established to put together women from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds around all borders to recognize and continue working for unity, fairness, prosperity and progress in their several decades’ struggle. There is definitely clear evidence today which suggests the incidence of domestic violence against women and children. Racial representation is thus not a gender concern but a social and economic necessity. We will always fight for it, not only on this day but on a regular basis. Women deserve to be noticed and encouraged from across the globe. And, no matter what gender you associate with, or what role you hold, we also ought to dedicate ourselves to fair justice. Unfortunately, there are many attitudes that hinder women's equality, people who claim that we as individuals can not make any change in today's culture and some may also suggest that there is no gender disparity all over.       2) Nowadays we are willing to see anything we want, thanks to the Net.  In addition, it has led us to come up with tv shows of truth or skills, which have definitely enhanced their success over the decades. Yet, because of the excitement it offers, is there something else to watch reality shows than television? TV shows draw all sorts of viewers and we can view them at what ever time of location we want, due to social media. What more, TV shows were created for the intention of attracting the audiences. Programs such as "The Ellen show" more widely known as "The Late Night Show," welcoming popular celebrities to chat about their recent news and ended up playing some type of game. And they're just directed at fun. However, there are many TV shows including "The Voice" or "The X Factor" where contestants have to face/reach certain prompts. In fact, jurors are often too picky, resulting in the participants reacting negatively. What most parents believe is that children who go there to join are revealed, and this may potentially be detrimental to them. As well as getting subjected to negative factors, not just social media. I honestly feel that, irrespective of their programming, tv shows will definitely have a detrimental effect, either on their audiences or on their participants (such as the ridicule and criticism hey often experienced). Additionally, others can also be detrimental to children and teenagers because they can mimic such behaviors or aggressive behavior. 3) Traffic jam is now one of the biggest urban issues owing to the congestion it creates, the disruptions during the peak hours, among others, the road rages. To address this problem, municipalities ought to come up with many methods of rising traffic and preventing the usage of private vehicles in the city center. But how do they possibly? Therefore, most citizens agree that fees will be levied on vehicle owners and businesses, whether commuting through peak hours or parking. The government should then enhance the standard of public transit and allow everyone to utilize it for the revenue collected. Although it is possible that this may definitely be done, tax levies may place undue strain on citizens who have no travel. While taxes do not impact people with a strong economy, it does not affect people with a poor income. On the other side, cities should also undertake an outreach program, raise consciousness about how often traffic delays impact the community and how effective public transit is. Along with this, the initiative may consist of social network advertising, newspapers or radio shows that are low-cost approaches relative to improvements in public transit upgrades. A campaign like this is low key successful, though, since it relies on people changing their behaviors. In my view, the most successful solution will be to introduce taxes in the town at those hours. So far as an urgent remedy is concerned, levying taxes will insure revenue to increase the Efficiency and health of public transit, with residents seeking to stop having their vehicles in the area. 4) Recently I watched “Die Hard,” which came out in July, 1988, is basically two one-hour TV shows, or two one-hour episodes of a police drama, all of which are realized with a specific directorial flair. The first hour is the story of John McClane shouting out a band of terrorists who take over Nakatomi Tower and keep the workers of the Nakatomi Corporation hostage of offices in its thirtieth floor. The police arrive in the second hour, accompanied by the F.B.I., and McClane tries to kill the terrorists with the help of the powers of order. McClane's solitary fight has a spare, elemental force that ludicrously disperses when the police arrive. I should have worked out the film for at most another fifteen or twenty minutes; instead, it drags on for another hour, to achieve full apocalyptic fire and emotional resolution.  To John and Holly, whose marriage had been disrupted by her acceptance of a great job in Los Angeles, the film provides emotional redemption. Thus John remained out of a sense of police duty in New York. This also provides another character's emotional resolution, Al Powell, an L.A. Police officer who had been McClane's key contact for most of the ordeal, via walkie-talkie, with the outside world, a cop in a desk job, on his own request, since his rookie year, when he shot a thirteen-year-old whose toy gun he mistook for a real one. On the other side, "Die Hard" strikingly rejects the cinematographic stereotype of aggressive black villains. The film features three big African-American characters, Al is a comic limo, Argyle's driver, and Theo, the tech whiz of the terrorist band. And the film reflects another ethnic anxiety. The film is based on the Nakatomi Company, led by a Japanese-American man called Joseph Takagi, an symbol of the concern that Japanese high-tech corporations were trying to control the American economy at that time.  I highly recommend this film and if you're into action movies, you'll like it. The main character faces very tough challenges throughout the entire film, and still finds a way to overcome them in a specific and violent way. Much like the special effects, there are plenty of plot twists and cliffhangers that will give you chills.

IWD
Yesterday, I bumped into one of the OB docs (a young woman) while trying to grab booties for over my shoes for the OR. I apologized and she turned and stared at me. I waited for an eruption. She looked me right in the eye and said, “NEVER apologize for existing. As women, we spend too much time apologizing for things. If we were two men here, would we be apologizing to each other? No, we wouldn’t.”
THIS. This means everything. As a student, it’s very easy to feel in the way, idiotic, and just a general nuisance. I continue to be blown away by how kind the providers are who surround me. Midlevels, doctors, nurses, techs, etc. I am so fortunate.
And of course, the additional layer here is the empowerment of me as a female student. She then spent the entire c-section explaining to me exactly what she was doing, making sure I could see, and having me hold retractors, help suture, and generally be very involved.
I cannot say enough how lucky I am in this clinical rotation. Women’s Health is proving to be a really wonderful surprise. ♥️

In my calendar for this week was this quote ("dear ladies: happy international women's day! Dear rest of the world: don't worry, the international men's year will continue tomorrow as usual!") It rang a little too true with me. On the one hand, I agree that we do have to make an extra effort with certain groups in order to fight for equality. The debate about "all lives matter" is a particularly pertinent one in this case. Just think of lifting something that has been knocked on to the floor back on to the table - in order to put it back on the flat surface, you first have to lift it slightly higher before it can be put back on equal footing with everything else on the table. So is the case with minority groups, or groups that have been discriminated against, such as women. That is why we have international women's day: to highlight women's achievements and raise them up above the table in the hope that they will soon share the surface on an equal footing with men. . On the other hand, I agree in some ways with my calendar; that allocating just one day to a particular group then highlights the fact that for the rest of the year they are not considered with special treatment, and things just go back to normal. Now, I was extremely lucky in my upbringing. I am white middle class, and so already have a privileged position on the table. In addition to that, my mum worked full time and my dad stayed at home looking after me. To me, it was not weird at all that my mum went off to international conferences and had business calls, while my dad took me to school, made my lunch, and plaited my hair. It was only relatively late in life when I realised that days like IWD were even necessary, because to me equality was not something that had to be fought for - I lived it every day at home. . I realise now this is not the case for everyone, and so we do still these days. But let's make sure not to forget about it tomorrow. Hopefully soon we can all live together on the same table surface, and stop people getting knocked off on to the floor. . #iwd #internationalwomensday #equality #genderequality #womensday #celebratewomen https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca6txJHuQ8M/?utm_medium=tumblr

STUDIO SAMUEL CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2022 STANDING IN EMPOWERMENT WITH ITS STUDENTS, STRIVING FOR A GENDER EQUAL WORLD
On March 8th, Studio Samuel Holds Career Exploration Day with Students in Addis Ababa
Students Impacting Community Through Feminine Hygiene Kits Production
[New York, NY – March 7, 2022] New York/Addis Ababa-based NGO and non-profit organization Studio Samuel, which empowers girls in Ethiopia to reach their potential through education and employable skills, is celebrating International Women’s Day (March 8) in Ethiopia with its first Career Exploration Day. This year’s United Nations International Women’s Day theme calls for “a gender-equal world…free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination…diverse, equitable, and inclusive” and poses action to #BreakTheBias. Studio Samuel is part of the collective of humanity working towards this dream, striving to impact each girl who comes into its life skills  program Training for Tomorrow to use her voice and to be empowered to make choices and realize opportunities, and 2022 marks ten years of the organization celebrating IWD.
Tumblr media
A key facet of Studio Samuel’s mission is circular impact; the girls in its Training for Tomorrow program are not only accessing skills and tools for a sustainable future, they also are touching the lives of other young women in the wider community surrounding Addis Ababa. Studio Samuel’s students achieved producing over 3,500 menstrual kits for distribution in February, leading up to International Women’s Day 2022 celebrations in Ethiopia. Made possible through the generosity of Studio Samuel's partners Ethiopiaid, Tomberg Family Philanthropies, Tropical Health Alliance Foundation, The White Feather Foundation, GO Campaign, Ethiopia Healthcare Network, the feminine hygiene kits help keep young girls in school. These efforts touch on three notable sustainable development goals (SDG’s) published by the UN: Quality Education, Gender Equality and Partnerships.
Studio Samuel’s Career Exploration Day further aligns with these sustainable development goals. On March 8, five successful Ethiopian businesswomen will each host a Studio Samuel student to shadow them for the day. Students will see a range of job opportunities including medical, law, fashion design, consulting and eco-friendly retail. In turn, the girls will share learnings from the experience with their peers, including the newly enrolled class of 100 girls for Training for Tomorrow. This initiative is exemplary of the “teach a woman to fish” principle that guides Studio Samuel’s programming, with focus on life skills instead of a handout of resources. Further, the initiative celebrates community, women lifting women, and peer to peer learning.
Tumblr media
In additional Studio Samuel news, the  organization is proud to participate this month in the sixty-sixth Commission on the Status of Women. On March 21st, Studio Samuel will have representation in the virtual summit by two of its students, Country Director: Hilawi Alemayehu, Deputy Director and Health Officer: Meron Alemayehu, and its Social Worker: Fikir Dilnessa. The priority theme of the summit is: “Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programs.” Led by Moderator, Rebecca T. Davis, Ph. D., LCSW (Rutgers University School of Social Work, IASSW Representative to the UN-New York), Studio Samuel’s presentation explores the organization’s grassroots empowerment approach that gives girls a voice. Studio Samuel students and team will speak to community-engaged solutions and capacity needs for girl-serving programs.
Studio Samuel’s leadership and Board of Directors in the US work in complete synergy with the team and students in Ethiopia, always following the lead of the in-country team. In celebration of a woman who has dedicated her life’s work to lifting marginalized youth, Studio Samuel is pleased to share the appointment of Kimberly Ricketts to Chair. Says Tamara Horton, Founder/Executive Director of Studio Samuel, “Kimberly has spent her career successfully advocating for the rights and well-being of children across the US and I’m thrilled our students and community in Ethiopia now have her voice and leadership championing them. As Chairperson of Studio Samuel, Kimberly exudes our guiding principles, always community and girl-centric, which is why I’m so honored to be working alongside her and excited for what lies ahead.”
