Eclair’s Guide to Snow on the Black Wall: Part VII
📚 This one’s been backed up for a long while, hasn’t it? This is a friendly reminder that you should take the coin counts with a grain of salt, as the Star Candy Observatory is multiplying the final amount of coins won from a battle. The amount you get may vary depending on your Observatory level.
Stage 13-18
Stage Power: 435,693 (No increase)
Wave 1: 2 Licorice Cake Hounds, 3 Mountain Ents
Wave 2: Sprinkled Yeti, 2 Mountain Ents
Wave 3: 3 Sprouted Mountain Ents, one behind the front two
Final Wave: 2 Licorice Cake Hounds, Boss Sprouted Mountain Ent, 2 Frost Spirits
📚 These formations are repeating those we’ve seen before, so there’s nothing new to note about how they all focus on your main damage dealer. Things should get easier once you get into the latter half of the stage where you aren’t at risk of getting shackled, but having enough protective factors is the main key to keeping everyone in action until the end. Once you encounter the Frost Spirits, they sometimes leave a small opening where their target isn’t being silenced. Be ready to activate their ability once this opening happens, since every passing second is one second more that they’re going to be whittling away at what could be your glass cannon. If they take your glass cannon, that’s one Cookie down and one less star you get in the end.
13-18 Rewards
⭐️ 450 Kingdom EXP
🪙 5,634 Coins
🍬 6 EXP Star Jellies (Level 4)
Small Healthy Peanuts and Sweet Candies

Stage 13-19
Stage Power: 435,693 (No increase)
Licorice Ooze: A shapeless blob that seems to have originated from the nearby Licorice Sea. Capable of attacking the front and middle rows with its ranged blob attacks to inflict direct corruption damage OR create fields of slime that deals damage to enemies that step within it, coupled with plenty of hitpoints to absorb blow after blow, this fellow is a renaissance fighter that can provide some serious support in the front AND the back! Once you dispatch it, it splits into two smaller ooze blobs that attack on their own with the same patterns. Dispatching both half-blobs will take it out of commission, but be quick with it; once the blue bars above the half-blobs deplete, they’ll merge back together with full HP like nothing’s happened to it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wave 1: 4 Sprouted Mountain Ents in a 2x2 formation
Wave 2: 5 Licorice Cake Hounds (in a 2 and 3 formation)
Wave 3: Choco Chip Yeti, 2 Mountain Ents
Final Wave: 3 Licorice Cake Hounds, Licorice Ooze
📚 I’m sure you know what to do in the first three waves by now, so I shouldn’t have to repeat myself. As for the boss Licorice Ooze, if you can outheal both kinds of Ents, then you can definitely outheal the damage dealt by the Ooze once that becomes the final enemy to deal with. Just remember to stomp it quickly once you split it so it doesn’t merge back together and waste time. If it keeps merging, it’ll run down the three-minute timer you have to clear the stage until all that’s left is a drawn-out defeat and Timekeeper Cookie in the background doing the waltz while making the smuggest of faces towards you.

13-19 Post-Completion Meeting: Council Disputes
(Featuring the Second Watcher 🏹2️⃣, Cube Choco Cookie 🟫, Peanut Butter Choco Cookie 🥜, and a Sugary Dark Cacao Warrior 🍫⚔️)
🪔 The court must be convened. All ministers must make themselves present at the Hall of Dignity.
🟫 Explain yourself, good Affogato Cookie. What is the meaning of this summons when we should be focusing on our king’s commands?
🏹2️⃣ The Watch has little time to spare for such a summons! Say what you will with haste, for I must return to my post!
🪔 I humbly ask for your understanding in this matter. It was not my intent to divert the attention of this court from our duties. I approach you because I am concerned with the future of our kingdom. We all know the dire circumstances of our treasury, but perhaps the reason for such concern is due to our king’s lapse in judgement?
🏹2️⃣ What?! You dare utter such treacherous words before us?
🟫 Hmm… Noble Affogato Cookie. Indeed, your statement can be taken as an act of treason.
🪔 Now now, heed my concerns and think rationally. Our king is obsessed with preparing for a war that will not spark. He is sickeningly fixated on our defenses when there is no need. Our soldiers are weary, their cries heard throughout the night. The treasury is depleting by the hour!
🥜 Your words do contain an inkling of truth. Never have the beasts penetrated our defenses. Our forces are as stalwart as ever, almost excessively prepared.
🏹2️⃣ There is no such thing as too much preparation! Our lands, bordering the Licorice Sea, cannot be sufficiently defended even with all of our forces. With the banishment of the First Watcher, our forces’ morale is at an all time low. What if ferocious beasts were to attack at this very moment?
🥜 Why the concern when we already have enough Watchers? Do you need more Cookies as an excuse to stockpile more Jellies?!
🏹2️⃣ I will not be subject to such an accusation!
🪔 Refrain from this insolent nonsense! Caramel Arrow Cookie this, Caramel Arrow Cookie that… Good riddance! What use was there for a First Watcher who was always gallivanting through the wilds?!
🏹2️⃣ Hold your tongue! The First Watcher always put the Cookies of our kingdom first!
🪔 Are you defending a banished criminal…? Do you wish to be the next one to face exile?!
🍫⚔️ This has gone too far. Affogato Cookie’s words resonate with the truth.
🏹2️⃣ Hrmph… You too…?
🟫 *Ahem, ahem* This is not a matter of choosing sides. What is it that you propose, Affogato Cookie?
🪔 My concern for the well-being of our kingdom is too much to bear. I can barely sleep due to such a burden. The answer is crystal clear! I cannot stand idly by while our king brings ruin upon our land. We must devise a plan!
Stage 13-20
Stage Power: 435,693 (No increase)
Wave 1: 4 Licorice Cake Hounds
Wave 2: 2 Licorice Oozes
Wave 3: 3 Licorice Cake Hounds, 2 Mountain Ents
Final Wave: Sprinkled Yeti, 2 Sprouted Mountain Ents, Boss Frost Spirit
📚 Once again, I probably shouldn’t have to repeat myself for waves 1 through 3. For the final wave, that’s when you need to bait and stun the yeti again to deal with the background support later, especially when they all target the central attacker at once. Timing when your central attacker uses their special attack in the latter half of this encounter is key here since they will be held back from their abilities unless the interfering enemies are counter-stunned or defeated.
13-20 Rewards

🪙 5,666 Coins
🍬 9 Level 4 EXP Star Jellies
Small Bouncy Caramels and Solid Almonds
Medium Juicy Apple Jellies and Fresh Kiwis

📚 Completing 13-20 the first time also awards the following checkpoint rewards:
⭐️ 4.2 million Kingdom EXP
🪙 50,000 Coins
💣 50 Pristine Bomber Skill Powders
💎 300 Crystals (Dark Cacao Kingdom Adventures in the Events tab)

📚 Now, before you ask how I acquired the following conversation and the ones from earlier, I got them from some other Watchers within the Citadel’s wall in which I’ve good long-distance relations with, which have still remained to today with them still in the court of Dark Cacao Cookie, but have remained out of the record. Don’t ask how the king can’t hear this despite being in the Editor’s party, even I’m clueless about that. Probably something someone pulled with the TBD…
13-20 Post-Completion Conversation: Corrupt Coup d’etat
(Featuring Pomegranate Cookie 🪞, Licorice Cookie 💀, Poison Mushroom Cookie 🍄, and Dark Choco Cookie ⚔️)
🪔 Ahhh… yes. Everything is moving forward like clockwork. Confidence in our king has all but dried out. Perhaps I shall expedite my plans, reveal all at once?! No, no… the king is still much too hardy and hale. Things are moving along, indeed, but something is missing… There must be a method to make this kingdom mine in one fell swoop…
🪞 What an amusing conspiracy you have concocted… Has the kingdom been faring terribly of late?
🪔 Who…?! You… you’re not from around here, are you? All gates to the citadel are locked shut! How did you get in here?!
💀 Hee hee hee! There’s ALWAYS a way.
🍄 Dark Choco Cookie! Hooray! He showed us the way…
🪔 Dark Choco Cookie? The traitorous prince who struck down his own father before fleeing?
⚔️ Watch your words. I won’t warn you again…
🪔 [In fear] P-P-P-Prince Dark Choco Cookie!
Editor’s Comment: Yeah it looks like Affogato almost dropped dead at seeing Dark Choco again. You know someone’s made a feared reputation for themselves when a conspirator AGAINST the kingdom fears them even after exile.
🪔 B-b-but you fled from our kingdom? W-w-what are you doing here? What do you w-w-want?!
🪞 Calm your nerves, we mean you no harm. We are merely seeking an ally… such as yourself.
⚔️ If you truly wish to take the king out of play, bring him to the top of the tallest wall. I will take care of him myself.
🪔 …What are you talking about? How am I to trust you when we’ve just met moments ago?!
⚔️ You have no choice. Refuse our offer, and our armies will lay waste to this entire land.
💀 Yeah! We got an army big enough to invade this kingdom twice! Think about it… Handing the king over to us is better than having it wiped off the map! HA HA HA!
🪞 This kingdom will fare on even in the absence of its king. After all, are you not the more befitting Cookie capable of the throne?
🪔 [To himself] They are not wrong… This could be THE opportunity I’ve awaited. If they can truly take the king out of the picture…
An interesting offer. Very well. I accept your terms. Dah-dah-dah! On one condition… Though your confidence speaks volumes, there is no room for failure!
🪞 *soft, evil chuckle* Such an amusing conspirer indeed. Are you prepared… good “prince”?
⚔️ Don’t waste your breath. I’m here to finish what I started long ago…

II. Princess & Conquest
Play If: You like fantasy settings, dungeon crawling, clever writing, and fucking dragons
TW: Public sex, Breeding, Slavery, W*ndigo mention, Noncon
Tumblr media
Have you ever found a game that would literally be perfect if not for the inclusion of just one horrible aspect? That’s how I feel about Princess & Conquest. You play as a chivalrous knight who is tasked with uniting a kingdom on the brink of total war. At a glance, the kingdom seems to be your typical D&D type world, but once you make it out of the tutorial, you’ll find that it more closely resembles a sexed-up version of Adventure Time’s Ooo. Each kingdom is run by a different Princess, and you’ll have to decide who you’ll ally yourself with in order to keep things running smoothly. There are a ton of different endings in this game; each princess has a story you can follow, as do many other side characters. While you don’t have much control over your character’s appearance, you do have plenty of input as to their backstory and stats. There are some light political tactics mechanics that I never bothered to get the grasp of, because I was too busy railing Mouse Princess.
Once the player does manage to get some succ, it’s possible for your companions to become pregnant. The game features a suspiciously in-depth system for character pregnancy. Princesses have menstrual cycles, and they suffer stat penalties while pregnant. It is kind of neat to be able to add your kids to the party, if you ignore a lot of obvious red flags there. IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT THE GAME KNOWS WHO YOUR KIDS AND AND DOES NOT ALLOW FOR HAVING SEX WITH THEM. THANK CHRIST, IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRAGIC THAT I NEED TO BE IMPRESSED BY THAT.
The art style is adorable most of the time. When it isn’t adorable, it’s kinda hot. Unfortunately, this RPG Maker game does commit the most grievous of sins: It uses some of the RTP assets included with the RPG Maker program. I’m willing to excuse it since the game is still in early access, but it does make a lot of the backgrounds really ugly. If you can look past that – along with the somewhat boring battle system – you’re bound to have a great time.
Some of my highest praise is for P&C’s replay ability. You have plenty of options for your character’s backstory, but there are also ways to customize a playthrough before it begins. You can randomize where you start, pick a specific kingdom, or just play through the original story. It guarantees that no two playthroughs will be the same. I’d also like to give a special mention to the level up system, which is way better than traditional RPGs where a character has a predetermined stat curve. At the end of the day – yes, the game has a functioning (and customizable) day and night cycle – you and your companions rest by the fire and burn “Candies.” These are the equivalent of souls from Dark Souls. They act as both EXP and currency. Character’s have stats that affect combat, but also stats that affect how open they are to romance and sex.
Unfortunately, not everything is all cum and roses. The base game features a mechanic called “Sex Fight” that essentially allows enemies to fuck the character you’re playing as if they hit you. THIS FEATURE CAN BE DISABLED BEFORE THE GAME EVEN STARTS THROUGH THE OPTIONS MENU. There are also mechanics that allow for Princesses of razed kingdoms to be sold into sex slavery, or to unload your own offspring into sex work (they fully mature and stuff, so it isn’t pedophilia, but it still feels like something they should not include in the game). LUCKILY, THIS CAN ALSO BE AVOIDED BY SIMPLY NOT ENGAGING WITH THE GOBLIN PRINCESS’S SLAVE MARKET. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT THINK THERE IS ANY WAY TO REMOVE THIS ASPECT FROM THE GAME ENTIRELY. THIS IS THE MAJOR BLIGHT THAT EXISTS, AND IT SADDENS ME EVERY TIME I REMEMBER THAT I PURCHASED THIS GAME ON STEAM AFTER LIKING MY INITIAL RUN ON MY PIRATED COPY.
Princess & Conquest has a lot to unpack. It has rough edges. But I’ll be damned if the character interactions aren’t fantastic. The art is so stylized, and it’s easy to fall in love with the world’s characters. In general, I give it a 6/10, because good writing can’t save bad combat mechanics and problematic themes. From the lens of an RPG Maker game, I give it an 8/10, because I’ve played way too many bad RPG Maker games. If you’re willing to avoid the problematic content in the game, I definitely suggest at least going through one character’s route. The writing is so fun, and each of the princesses is so unique. Maybe don’t buy it though.

Oh no I love them- Any info you can give us on the Queen, Flame, and Captain?
dsdfsdfsdfffd yes!!!!
Groundhog Day takes place in two worlds; mirroring video games. In one, the kingdom is already fallen. This is Fara Falls, home to Bolte, Red, Captain, and Queen Midnight (blue edition).
In this world, Midnight has already succumbed to her Level, allowing the candy of the kingdom to rot. Her balls are host to public executions, and the Corrupted who run her labs have developed a way to hook her up via an EXP Share link with Captain and Bolte; half the EXP they gain, she gains. Midnight, with her blue cotton candy hair and her stolen throne, is a furious woman, someone meant to be feared. She is far beyond redemption. Her original goals are long forgotten.
A background antagonist!
-
Captain serves as the captain of the royal guards. If she had a name before that, no one is alive to say. At Level Forty Nine, she is one of the strongest players in the game (topped only by celeste and the queen). An alligator woman with teeth that can break bone, she’s made herself a reputation of being mean and volatile. She lives in the swamps, where she feeds Hawk Dragons and keeps a sundress hidden in her closet, and sometimes has Terrible Tea on the front porch that she and Bolte built together one summer.
She’s one of the main side characters! Captain and Bolte are as close to best friends as you can have in Fara Falls. They’re only alive today because they’ve had each other’s backs in the past. Captain is loyal to the kingdom, not the queen. One day, she’ll be able to get Midnight off the throne. In the meantime...well, you have to do some awful things to stay alive in her world, but a dead knight can’t bring peace, can she?
-
Meanwhile, Fields of Fara is built as a traditional RPG world, one that had known war in the past and is in a time of peace now. Midnight (pink edition) came from a lost kingdom, deleted during the Beta Wars, and found Fara right after the true queen went missing. A queen in her own right, Midnight stepped up, meaning to simply take on the role and do for Fara what couldn’t be done for Twill. But there’s someone whispering dark things into her ears and the testing being done in the Royal Labs aren’t wholly sanctioned.
Midnight truly wants to protect her land and her people from a threat. She’s just of the opinion that the only way to save the land is to cut off what she’s been informed is rotten. War is coming, and Midnight will win this time. She has too. A main antagonist.
-
Flame is the general of the royal guards in Fields of Fara! He serves under Polynya, presently. Flames role is strictly ceremonial at the moment - he teaches and runs the Royal Academy for knights. In the past though, he helped lead the kingdom through the Delta Wars. A knight and a flame elemental, he’s quite literally on fire. He’s selectively mute and Speaks in Hands.
He’s sworn loyalty to the queen, but he’s also good friends with Locke and wants the best for the kingdom. Flame serves as a mentor for Locke. While he doesn’t know the full details (the time loop, the world glitch) he does know what it’s like to face down war, to make the choices Locke will have to face. He tries his best to help where he can.

So, uh... that FFXV was a thing, wasn’t it?
It sure was, Bill... it sure as shit was.
So, yeah, I finally played and, just a moment ago, beat Final Fantasy XV.
I’m about to sum up my feelings on the game, many of which are shared with the general gaming community, so I might have nothing new to add at this point... But I feel strongly enough to keep writing, anyhow.
If you’re bothered by that sort of thing, scroll on.
Sometimes, in grade schools across the world, teachers feel the need to give every single child an award. Usually there’s nothing to it. Some might spring for a ribbon, others might give out trophies, and even fewer might elect to have other students create rewards for the recipients. The latter was my personal case in middle school. A boy, whose name escapes me because the entire affair was almost forgettable except for the reward, gave me the Most Potential award. Every other student made small bundles of candy or bought some small token for their reward recipient. I got... A small piece of notebook paper cut into the shape of a ribbon.
Most Potential.
I’m not sure if a more insulting award exists in the entire world.
What does this have to do with anything? I think you’re smart enough to see where I’m going.
Final Fantasy is quite possibly the franchise that made me a gamer. I played the first one the NES when I was a child, and I’m certain it was one of the first RPGs I had ever played. By middle school, when I was playing FF3 (really VI), I was knee deep in love with the genre and carving my path with a shovel made out of Blockbuster rental cases.
What I’m getting at is that my opinion on the franchise carries weight because I’m getting to be an old fart. I’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly. I started out as Relm, and now I am becoming Cid (pick one).
When the game loads, the screen tells you that XV is for fans and first timers. My gut reaction to this was a big, fat, pessimistic, “Yeah, we’ll see.” XIII left me feeling like someone clipped my purse strings and ran off cackling into the night. Must stay on subject.... must... not... rant...
Well, I saw. I came, I saw, I conquered.
I didn’t hate it.
I didn’t love it, either. And here’s where the award comes in.
You, Final Fantasy XV, are the proud recipient of the Most Potential award. I’m even going the extra mile and writing this in a digital format rather than on notebook paper, so you can cherish it forever... as long as you have electricity.
What a hot-ass mess. Here are my beefs in broad strokes:
The combat feels sloppy. I know SE is trying desperately to get into the action RPG thing with FF because they feel like turn-based games are archaic and no one wants to play them. Fine. Whatever. That’s what made you a thing... but whatever. The problem is that they didn’t do a very good job with this. Kingdom Hearts does it amazingly well. Any Tales game puts it to shame.
Can I tell you a secret? You can laugh at me; it’s okay. I didn’t know you could just hold O to fight until I already had 80 hours on the game. Yep. I played that much just mashing O and square and warping. I spent untold minutes grinding my teeth during the Leviathan fight because nothing was happening. I kept missing an invisible quick-time event, apparently. IDK. (I researched it and others had the same problem? No clue.)
As a whole, the combat just felt very clunky and almost as if the AI was too smart. Maybe I should have played all the tutorials at the beginning. Who knows!
And magic sucked. So much suck. Friendly fire? REALLY? REALLY? THAT’S THE ROAD YOU CHOSE?
Hmm. what else.
Oh, you know how in some console RPGs, you can change the tactics in the menu to control the behavior of other characters in your party? Or you can switch who you want to play? None of that here. The other bros forget they have a spell equipped most of the time. But when they remember, you can be sure it’s when you’re in the thick of things so you can take that friendly fire. MMM Mmm. Good stuff.
Speaking of bros... the male gaze stuff was gross. They changed Ignis’ outfit so hit butt wasn’t hanging out, sure. But Cindy... the mechanic... boobs. Does not compute. Girl, get you some damn overalls so you don’t get burned.
I guess this Fantasy includes spark free machines.
So, then there’s the story. I won’t spoil what little story there is for folks that haven’t played it. I might spoil your urge to play it if you haven’t been able to yet. Sorry.
The game has some pretty amazing world-building. That’s not the same as the story, so don’t get excited. You get a general sense of history and a little bit of mythos. But it needed so much more to aid the story. People are so damned thirsty for lore that they’re theorycrafting THE FUCKING STORY for XV. It’s not in the game. They’re pulling shit out of thin air. Check Youtube, and you’ll get lost in a sea of “Ardyn’s TRUE name,” “The meaning of the true ending,” or “Eos Explained!” Yeah, okay, reeeeeeach for it.
And let’s not forget Kingsglaive and Brotherhood. Kingsglaive is a CG movie that accompanies the game. I enjoyed it. I watched it before I played the game (months before oops), because I was gifted both as a package deal. Problem is, Kingsglaive has some precious story that the game so desperately needed, it should have been IN THE GAME. And Brotherhood, the anime, should have been in the game as well. Maybe as flashbacks while camping. Yet even with both of these optional purchases, it’s still missing a truckload of substance.
Sadly, I think they tried to make up for it by putting a pace car in the game. That’s not even a cute metaphor; they really physically put in crap to slow you down. There’s a stamina bar for running, there’s a stamina bar on chocobos, and the Regalia has a set speed it cannot exceed (unless you get parts like the turbocharger several hours into the game). You can fast travel to your car, and you can get in your car and sometimes fast travel to quests or destinations (which, after chapter 13 seemed to be much more frequent unless I’m imagining it). However, sometimes you are forced to sit through minutes and minutes of scenic driving. And even that gets interrupted by a certain bro with a camera fetish. It felt very forced, and I fast traveled everywhere when given the opportunity. I somehow still wound up with 100+ hours on the game. Curse you, gambling and fishing.
The DLC episodes for each bro could have provided the game with a little more substance, too, but SE decided to nickel and dime their patrons for those. It’s becoming a trend that I hate. It’s like selling a jigsaw puzzle and then charging extra for 2-3 pieces that would complete the picture. Fuck a bunch of that.
Another thing that I felt was intentionally annoying stretched out: maps. Lestallam, or however you spell it, was laid out like a street gang’s fantasy. Lots of dead ends, terrible mini-map... just... please.. where’s my car... why is the big market tucked into the ass end of of Satan’s colon instead of on the main circuit WHERE A MARKET BELONGS?
My final Final Fantasy XV beef: TIME TRAVELING! choo choo all aboard the-woops-we-can’t-fix-this-shit train. No, there isn’t actual time-traveling in the game. Not really. Beyond a certain chapter, there is no way to return to Altissia or Lucis. SE handled this the way a dog does when it has a dingleberry. They dragged their ass on the floor until... no, no, I kid. They put in a menu that let’s you zip back to those two places without any explanation. You can do quests and hunts and get exp and items. Then, you can zip back to the “present” with all of those rewards. Hahahaha makes perfect sense, right? Riiiiiight? lolno.
It’s not part of the canon. You’re not dreaming or having a flashback or pulling an Assassin’s creed. They just added it in because otherwise you could plow through several chapters with no way of going back. It would be impossible to go back to those places (for lolstory reasons). They put in a point of no return and then were like, “Just kidding?”
Imagine if in VI you could play all the way to Kefka’s Tower and then, with zero explanation, a save point gives you the option to return to the World of Balance. Bit of a head-scratcher, eh?
They had to do it, though. Remember that substance thing? A lot of it comes from the sparse side quests, fishing, hunting, optional junk-getting. If you’re not interested in any of that, you could skip returning to the “past” altogether.
It had a lot of potential. Unlike a person getting that award, it doesn’t get a chance to better itself. They continue to drop patches on it but nothing that can fix the story.
I’m not sorry I played it. I did put 100+ hours on it, after all. I liked the characters (even if Noctis appears to grow into a Caucasian man and his eyes change color... um... what?). I liked the world.  It needed a lot more fine-tuning and character development, though. As I said to a few people already: it felt like a love letter to Final Fantasy rather than an actual Final Fantasy game.
It sort of suffered that same thing XIII did with FF mythos being tacked on but not nearly as badly. Throw in some chocobos. Bitches love chocobos. And a moogle. Just the one; don’t get carried away.
Bravely Default was a damn good Final Fantasy game (if you can get over the repetition) and it wasn’t even a FINAL FANTASY GAME.
Yeah, I’ll shutup now.

Eclair’s Guide to Snow on the Black Wall: Part VI
📚 Well now… time to make that detour, shall we? But before we do, I should point out some crucial notes that were realized. The numbers you see here on this blog’s postings are the coin rewards from a stage AFTER being multiplied by the effects of the Star Candy Observatory landmark at level 7 (which is +14% to any Coins you receive from winning a battle). Case in point, the actual number of coins awarded for a win without any multipliers or percentages is a just a tad lower than what is typed here. Also, I should mention that an informant* has told the Editor that due to the passively freezing conditions of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, every enemy in the region has a passive immunity to Freeze, which is currently exclusive as an ability-activated debuff to Frost Queen Cookie.
*and by informant I meant I just pulled her. One test in the chapter and nothing froze over.
Tumblr media
Stage 13-16
Stage Power: 425,344 (No increase)
Frost Spirits: Cotton Cookie, whatever you do, don’t get distracted. None of them even RESEMBLE Sherbet Cookie! Instead, these chaotic little sprites cast a crippling spell at (once again) the Cookie with the highest ATK to Silence them. While Silenced, the target cannot use their special abilities. Think about what Latte does, except all that damage is being pointed at one target and the damage is dealt all at once. They can be knocked back and even stunned, but they won’t advance forward towards you. Instead, they hunker back and let whatever’s in front of them take the heat for them! Unlike the Mountain Ents, their target can still attack normally and will not get thrown into a stunlock, but keep your eyes open for anything else that CAN stunlock your party, and always have a healer ready.
Tumblr media
Wave 1: 3 Licorice Cake Hounds, 2 Frost Spirits
Wave 2: 3 Frost Spirits, 2 Sprouted Mountain Ents
Wave 3: 3 Licorice Cake Hounds, 2 Sprouted Mountain Ents
Final Wave: Sprinkled Yeti, 2 Frost Spirits, Boss Frost Spirit
📚 If you know how to conquer the 3x2 formation intended to eliminate your team’s main attacker ever-so-present in practically this entire region, then this should be a bit more of a breeze. Since the Sprouted Mountain Ents aren’t constantly pinning them down every two seconds, there’s less of a hazard of losing your DPS for a lousy gimmick. The main difference between the two is that if a Cookie gets silenced by a Frost Spirit while using their special ability, they will still be silenced, but their ability will go through in full unless the attack knocks them out. You still need the healers and defensive options just in case the target’s hitpoint pool isn’t up to snuff. The range of a Frost Spirit is also much longer than that of a Mountain Ent, so don’t let your guard down when you try to lure an unsuspecting Yeti towards the end.
13-16 Rewards
⭐️ 438 Kingdom EXP
🪙 5,803 Coins
🍬 6 EXP Star Jellies (Level 4)
Small Searing Raspberries and Hearty Hazelnuts
Medium Bouncy Caramels and Solid Almonds
2 Topping Pieces
🗡 1 Ambush Skill Powder
Editor’s Party: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
⚙️ Strawberry Crepe (Level 52 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, two Walnuts and three Almonds, all +12)
🌊 Sea Fairy (Level 51, all Raspberries +12)
📚 Eclair (Level 51 ⭐️⭐️⭐️, all Raspberries, one +12)
🍨 Pure Vanilla (Level 49, all Raspberries +12)
🐑 Cotton (Level 58 ⭐️⭐️, all Chocolates +12, level 56 ability)
🪶 Sugar Swan’s Shining Feather (Level 5)
🕰 Squishy Jelly Watch (Level 12)
🪄 Blind Healer’s Staff (Level 3)
Stage 13-17
Stage Power: 435,693 (Increased 10,349)
Wave 1: 2 Licorice Cake Hounds, 2 Choco Chip Mountain Scarabs
Wave 2: Sprinkled Yeti, 3 Frost Spirits
Wave 3: 2 Sprouted Mountain Ents, 2 Frost Spirits (pay close attention to them, they’re overlapping!)
Final Wave: 2 Mountain Scarabs, 2 Frost Spirits, Boss Frost Spirit
📚 Apply everything you’ve learned from this region against these groups without living in fear of being bound down by a shackle gimmick to bolster the front while defending the central attacker. While it sounds simple on paper, the power increase says otherwise. Any Cookie that isn’t bound to one of those two target groups should be placed to fend off damage for everyone else, either by lowering the enemies’ ATK, healing and protecting where it’s needed, or by stunning and defeating them in seconds.
13-17 Rewards
⭐️ 444 Kingdom EXP
🪙 5,618 Coins
🍬 6 EXP Star Jellies (Level 4)
Small Hard Walnuts and Swift Chocolates
Medium Bouncy Caramels and Solid Almonds
2 Topping Pieces
1 Healing Skill Powder
Editor’s Party: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
⚙️ Strawberry Crepe (Level 52 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, two Walnuts and three Almonds, all +12)
🌊 Sea Fairy (Level 51, all Raspberries +12)
🌩 Dark Cacao (Level 49, two Raspberries and three Almonds, all un-upgraded)
🍨 Pure Vanilla (Level 49, all Raspberries +12)

🪶 Sugar Swan’s Shining Feather (Level 5)
🕰 Squishy Jelly Watch (Level 12)
📜 Old Pilgrim’s Scroll (Level 3)
📚 Complete 13-17 the first time to get 4.1 million Kingdom EXP ⭐️, 50 thousand coins 🪙, and 50 Pristine Healing Skill Powders ➕.

Post-Completion Conversation: Bolstering the Fortifications
Feat. Workers 1️⃣ and 2️⃣
🌩 These fortifications were ordered to be bolstered weeks ago, but it is proceeding at a sugar snail’s pace. Quarry more cocoa and bring more syrup! Coat the walls in thick layers of chocolate to reinforce them!
1️⃣ By your command, my king!
🌩 Bring more chocolate bricks and cauldrons for boiling water. Ensure that there are enough arrows to hold off a siege! All towers and stations must be supplied!
2️⃣ Yes, Your Majesty!
🪔 Pardon my curiosity, my Liege. We’ve already a sturdy wall protecting us. Why must the citadel be bolstered with such fervor? Our kingdom’s coffers cannot sustain these efforts. May I advise caution, for soon even our citadel’s kitchens will have to switch from Rainbow Jellies to… plain Jellies.
🌩 Silence! There will be no meals at all if our kingdom is to fall.
🪔 A hundred pardons, Your Majesty. Though I humbly stand by my word, observe: the soldiers are growing weary. As are you, my king. My Lord, as King of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, you must pace yourself. Your subjects need your strength…
🌩 My health matters not at this time. Do not let up! Proceed with the construction! There is no room for regret or blame if we are ill-prepared when disaster strikes. All of you, double your efforts!

I don't know a damn thing about the plot of groundhog day but I'm really liking the characters so would you mind explaining the plot to me?
oh wow, of course! thank you so much for the interest, and i’m glad to hear you’re liking the characters! i love talking about this story, haha.
Setting
The story is split between two worlds; Fields of Fara, and Fara Falls. both worlds are set within a rpg fantasy game, currently suffering from heavy glitches. Fields of Fara is the original game - a traditional, classic fantasy with bards, knights, beasts, and a kingdom heavily influenced by sweets and candy. Fara Falls is the “gritty reboot”, taking place in a timeline where the kingdom has fallen into disarray, a literal kill or be killed world.
Base Plot
before the story begins, Fara is hit by what’s known as the First Glitch. this sets the world into a “groundhog day” style time loop - constantly resetting itself, over, and over, and over again. only certain characters are capable of remembering the time loops - Blue, Red, Midnight, and Aba. others recall flashes in the form of strange feelings or nightmares. Locke is a mystery player - a secret waiting to be unfurled.
the First Glitch has been going on for sometime before the story begins.
a new glitch starts the story off, throwing Blue, a paladin and scientist and token idiot, into Fara Falls. at the same his “foil” (also known as his double, his other, or That Weird Guy), Red, a paladin that has lost his magic due to trauma, into Fields of Fara.
what begins as a simple quest to return home quickly turns into a drive to stop Queen Midnight from turning Fields of Fara into the same death riddled land as Fara Falls…and it’s far more difficult than one would originally think.
More Stuff
*Bolte is a knight from Fara Falls, General for the Royal Guard, and a main player in the game. it’s his house that Blue takes shelter in, and his PoV is one of the most spotted during the story. a wielder of bone and gravity magic who will do anything to keep Red alive - even if it means giving up all of himself in the process. watching him learn to live again is a driving force behind Arc Two.
*Locke is a knight in training from Fields of Fara, and the fourth “main player” in the game. a master of Good Intent and sarcasm, with a HEART so full of love it’s impossible not to smile when you talk to him. while he comes across as gawky and naive, Locke knows far more than he’s letting on…and it’s his strive to save the people he calls family that just might be his undoing.
*characters have access to Inventories, gain EXP if they kill someone, gain Levels if they get enough EXP, and have HP and HEARTs - which function as physical souls, of sorts.
*Captain is the leader of the guards in Fara Falls, a vicious crocodile woman with a soft spot for Bolte and a love for her country that goes far beyond the Queen. she might be serving Midnight now, but her ultimate goal is to overthrow the throne and try to bring some semblance of peace and Hope back into her world.
*Midnight is the Queen with cotton candy hair and a smile so sweet it’s near impossible not to love her. but everyone knows that sugar turns to rot, and there’s a deeper, darker secret behind her.     (in fara falls, she has already succumbed to her level and her stolen coding, losing all sense of her original goal of a utopia and now simply striving to keep the kingdom hers)   (in fields of fara, she is still researching the Code of the World, and is striving to create a kingdom that will never age, never know grief, and never die. and she will do anything to grant this peace to her citizens)
*there’s a large cast of background, minor, and reoccurring characters! these include Captain Polynya, the water elemental with an aquarium for her torso; Ginia, the royal gardener who finds herself drawn into a rebellion; Flame, the fire elemental who speaks only in Hands; and many, many more!
some of my most frequently used tags are
*ghd-writing
*ghd-moodboard
*ghd-important
*bolte-oc
*locke-oc
*locke-and-blue
*captain-oc
*groundhog-day
*bolte-and-blue (or switch blue with red)
and the most important thing to remember is that i am always, always more than happy to talk about them! i will answer the same question twenty times, for twenty different people, and never get tired of being able to write it up a different way! so if you want to know about a certain character, theme, or term, just let me know!
