WIP-- I've been working on updating my huge ridiculous Too Many Gnomes height chart recently, and have spent a frankly absurd amount of time just on very minutely adjusting proportions, because that's my idea of a good time, for some reason. Also I added Indigo and it's really funny to me because for some reason between my designing them and now they've taken on a distinctly Tall Energy in my mind, so actually drawing them at their canon size is almost jarring jkghdfkg like OH YEAH SHORT KING, OKAY!!
These are just my guys, but there are currently twelve gnomes in this file! But I'm still fixing a lot of old bad anatomy and stuff, and also I might even fuck around and color it before sharing the full thing 🤔

“Don’t you think that our friends will start seeing us as a kind of a support group if we keep this up?”
“What do you mean? “, Connie spared a quick look at his girlfriend before turning his attention back to the traffic, guiding their car through it.
“Well, “¸Sasha fingered the edge of the cake container in her lap, where her sweet creation was hiding, “we are legit spending the last few months doing emotional support for Eren and Mikasa, and as soon as they are back together this thing with Armin happens. Don’t you think its weird? “
Connie was silent for a time, focusing on the driving, turning the question inside his head. “I’m not sure. But life just… works in mysterious ways sometimes, and we have to be there for our friends, wouldn’t you say? “
“Damn, I didn’t know you were such a sweet guy. “, when he blushed, she couldn’t hold back a giggle, “Oh, stop it, I’m just teasing. I know that you are the sweetest thing on the earth. “, Sasha drummed her fingers on the top of the plastic, “Except this puppy that is. “
He smiled at her when they were stopped at a red light. “Then let’s hope that it will cheer Armin up. “
The rest of the road was silent, with just the radio music in their ears. But as they neared the residence of the spurned lover, Sasha’s eyes picked a familiar figure standing awkwardly on the sidewalk, reading something from a tiny notebook.
“Hey, slow down, that’s Hange! “, quickly as she could, the girl rolled down her window and stuck as much of herself as she could out of the car, greatly upsetting her boyfriend. She never did care about her safety. “HANGE! Hange! Yea here! It’s me, Sasha! “
The scientist finally took notice of them, stashing her notebook away and walking to their car while Connie expertly maneuvered it into a parking space. “What are you doing here? Did Eren also call you? Or Mikasa? Are you here because of Armin? “ Sasha excitedly jabbered on while her somber boyfriend retrieved the wheelchair from the trunk and helped her get into it.
“Yea I…. heard something, so I decided to come and have a look myself. “, Hange never blushed, she found the whole concept of it stupid, but she supposed that now would be the time for that. In truth, she got her information about the blond’s troubles from the bug in Eren and Mikasa’s house, but she would rather die than say it out loud. She still had to find a way to remove it without drawing any attention, Levi seemed that he won’t forget about it this time.
“Oh that’s amazing! The more the merrier, right Con? “, he grimaced when he heard the nickname. Sasha had a myriad of names for him, baldie, coconut, and many more, but even though he wouldn’t like it from other people, from her he just let it pass. After all, what’s wrong on having pet names with your significant other? The force of nature that she was Sasha was already leaving him in the dust, wheeling ahead with Hange in tow, not even waiting for his answer. Shaking his closely shaved head, Connie followed.
Armin didn’t open the door on first knock, not even the second or third one, but Sasha wasn’t a woman to be discouraged by that. “Hey Ar! I know you are there, and if you wont open up ill have my big strong boyfriend break down the door for us! I’m serious! “. The big and strong man in question looked the wooden structure up and down, scratching his nape. Breaking down doors, that was a job better suited for a machine like Mikasa, not him. But either Armin didn’t know that, or just knew that Sasha won’t leave him alone unless he gives in to her demands, so the door creaked open, and half a face peeked out.
“Wh…“
Sasha wasted no time, and pushed herself right into the opening, knocking the surprised owner back and paving a way for the rest of her boarding party. Hange followed without hesitation, once again scribbling in her notebook and Connie, seeing no other option, went in too, questioning if they weren’t technically breaking and entering. Once inside, they could finally get a good look on their friend, and what they saw unsettled them. Armin looked worn, disheveled, with circles beneath his eyes. The interior of his house also looked in a stage of disrepair, things lying everywhere, especially where they weren’t supposed to be.
“I wasn’t really… expecting visitors. “, said Armin in a voice that suggested that he would very much prefer if they left as fast as they came in, but knowing Sasha, that wasn’t an option.
“No worries, I brought my own seat. “ she said, patting the side of the wheelchair. When no one laughed, she sighed. “C’mon, stop standing around like a bunch of corpses! I brought a cake! “, she thrusted the container at him like a peace offering and seeing really no way out, he took it, and went to the kitchen to cut it into edible pieces. Hange almost immediately sat down, her eyes studying the mess around her while her pen worked at a tempo that made it almost blurry, notes filling the pages in her tiny book. But as Connie made the move to follow her example, Sasha nudged him with her elbow and when he looked at her she jerked her chin in the direction where Armin disappeared, making her request quite clear. Connie nodded, and she rewarded him with a smile, before looking back at Hange and continuing in whatever conversation they were having. Having his mission given, he followed Armin.
He found him standing next to a counter, knife in hand, cutting into Sasha’s delicacy with practiced movements. There was a huge number of takeout wraps lying all around, clearly showing that the blond didn’t cook much in the last weeks. “Hey man, how have you been holding up? “, Connie picked a place that looked reasonably clear and leaned on it, trying to appear as casual as possible.
“Me? I’m fine, really. “, said that man that looked anything but fine. “Just had to make some changes, that’s all. “
“Right… So have you talked to Annie? At all? “
“Nope. “, he shook his head, “She totally cut any contact with me. I mean… I guess its for the best. I made my peace. “ Connie was tempted to ask why his knuckles went white around the knife handle while he said those words but kept silent. It wouldn’t be very tact. “Anyway, what are you guys doing here? Eren called you? “, there was a certain bitterness in those words, one that Connie somewhat understood. Armin didn’t tell them about his problems, it was Eren who called and asked them to go and check up on his blond friend. Theoretically, he and Mikasa could do it themselves, but they weren’t the type of friends to barge into your house uninvited. When you needed someone like that, you called Sasha, she made you feel better whenever you wanted it or not.
“Yea, he did. Don’t hold it against him, please, he is really worried about you. “
“Right. “, Armin picked up the plates with the pieces of cake, “Can you grab some drinks from the fridge? I’ve got my hands full. “ Seeing Connie nod, he headed back towards the mess he called living room. There was an unopened bottle of a hard alcohol in the cooling space, but this wasn’t the time for that, so he grabbed some of the soft drinks instead, following the silently fuming man. Sasha seemed totally in her element, patting Armin’s arm supportively, while he munched on the cake. Hange watched them, her own portion untouched, pen scribbling away. Taking his place on the other side of the wheelchair, Connie handed out the drinks and picked up his own plate, joining in on the discussion. If it would be anyone else they were with but Sasha, it would be damn awkward. But with her, it just seemed to ebb away, and Armin was smiling before he realized it, feeling better than he did in weeks.
“All right then, “, she said when they finished the cake, extending her hands dramatically, “time to tell you the real reason why we came. Connie! Music! “, with a sigh, her boyfriend pulled out his phone and started playing the epic mix she chose for the occasion, filling the little room. Sasha waited until the melody reached her desired place before speaking, syncing her words with it. “Since I’ve been shot, the restaurant I used to work in was more than forthcoming, but it was clear that they had no place for me anymore. They gave me a very serious severance package however, and when me and baldie talked about how to spend it, I got an amazing idea. It is time! Time for me to fulfill my childhood dream! We. Are. Opening. A bar! “ The music reached its climax and so did her speech, Sasha ending up with her hands raised above her head. Armin scratched the back of his head. “Cool. But what’s that to do with me? “
“Pfff, isn’t that obvious? You are a part of it! “
“But…I have a job. “
“Right, a damn part-time in a coffee shop. “, she wiggled her finger at him, “and don’t try saying that the work is like fulfilling you or anything, I know it doesn’t. Come on. “, she pleaded, “ It will be fun! Amazing! Just the three of us, working to create a place to get drunk and pass out in the bathroom while not being afraid of someone robbing you. Pleaseeeeeee. “
“I…uhm… I guess? “, Armin still wasn’t completely in on the idea, but Sasha was right. In the end, what did he have to lose, apart from his house and savings and everything else. That didn’t matter. This activity, this could fill the void that Annie left in his heart, in his soul. Seeing Sasha’s enthusiasm, he couldn’t hold back his own smile. “ Okay. I’m in. “
“Amazing! “, she hugged him as closely as she could, considering her handicap, “We already have a location and the renovations are starting next week. We even started thinking about a name, right Con? “, back in her dramatic setting, took a deep breath, “The Third Wheel. “
“Ehm. What? “
“See? It’s perfect, cause it’s the three of us, and“, she slapped her wheelchair, “this bad boy has four wheels, so the number three is also funnily referencing that. Get it? “ Seeing that he was still far from sold on the idea, she shrugged. “The name is still subject to change. “
The laughter exploded from Armin, the absurdity of this whole situation setting in. When he woke up this morning, hoping that he could just go back to sleep, he didn’t see his day going like this, far from it. But Sasha…Sasha was just something else. On the other side of the table, Hange ran out of paper and swiftly pulled out her second notebook to start filling it with her notes. This visit was proving more and more valuable every second.
Mikasa wasn’t surprised when she heard the bathroom door open behind her, the sound soon followed by the shower opening and closing, a newcomer announcing his presence by running his fingers up and down her body.
“Came to wash my back? “
“Of course, what would you do without me? “, asked the voice she would recognize anywhere.
“So I get beaten up one day and the next you don’t even trust me to take care of myself. “, she sighed, but didn’t look at him.
Eren replied by pressing a kiss to her shoulder. “This is what I love about you, you know. Anytime anyone offers you help, you keep lashing back, saying that you are strong enough to take care of yourself. “, his lips slowly traveled over to her neck, “I know that you can do stuff yourself, of course, you can wash yourself, you can get up yourself, you can stitch your own wounds. “, he ended his journey by dragging his mouth over her scar, kissing the raised tissue, “But I like doing it, so what’s so wrong with letting me? “
“Well, if you put it like that, “, satisfied with his explanation and admittedly a bit turned on Mikasa said, dropping her hands, “you can wash my front too. “
The lips on her cheek curled upwards in a smile.
“With pleasure. “
It didn’t take him long for her to be melting into his hands, as he gently glided over her skin, not leaving out any piece of her. It was a bit cramped, as the shower was smaller than the one they had at home, but neither of them minded. In their history, they made do even with a smaller thing back at the dorm, although having sex in those tiny cubes was a stunt they had to master over the course of their studying years. When Eren kneeled down, she almost gasped because she thought that he will finally get to it, but all he did was wink up at her before starting to wash one of her feet. Tease. Mikasa had just about enough of it. But when Eren straightened and she tried going for a kiss he used the height difference between them to deny her, edging away.
“Miki, there was only one place where I touched myself more often than my bed, and its this shower. We are literally standing on a burial ground of millions of my children. Do you really want to take part in a genocide? “
But she was far beyond his jokes.
“Oh no you don’t. “¸she hissed, and grabbed him by the hair, pulling his face towards hers. Even when their lips finally met, she could hear the laughter bubbling inside him and had to roll her eyes. When Eren pushed her up against the wall and finally got on with it, her last coherent thought was if Sasha managed to break through Armin’s shell.
As Annie came down in the morning, her father was sitting in the same position he was when she went to sleep, which made her question if he even slept at all. But when he saw her, the tired eyes lit up, and he somehow managed to look ten years younger.
“Hey Annie, I made you breakfast. Did you sleep well? “
She walked over to the stove, grabbing the eggs and coming to sit on the table next to him.
“Yes. And thank you. “
He kept watching her, seeing the way she stabbed into her food, refusing to meet his gaze. “Annie? What’s wrong? “
“I just... “, she sighed, “I don’t like what I did to Mikasa. She was tired, I shouldn’t have gone at her at full strength. “ the fork clicked against the plate and she gritted her teeth, “We were supposed to have a friendly spar goddamn it, not a deathmatch. “
“Annie, Annie, calm down. “, he reached out and put a hand on her shoulder. “You keep seeing her as your friend, you have to realize that she’s not one. She’s your rival, you have to become stronger, faster, better than she is, overcome her, not become her ally. “, he reached out and tapped his finger against the magazine on the table, the one that had the interview with Mikasa in it, “Your goal is to be here, on your own, in the spotlight, not in her shadow. “
“I know dad. “, she took a deep breath. Somehow, his words did nothing to soothe her. “I’ll do my best, I swear. “
“I know you will. “, he smiled at her, “If….if your mom was here, she would be so proud of you Annie. We both love you. “
She forced herself to smile back, secretly wishing he would stop talking about her.
“I love you too dad. “
I love you too….

uhhh hi its that alpha!nat&bucky and omega!tony anon. anyway i just love the idea of a blushy and flustered tony and his tough exterior but super soft on the inside alphas. (btw i love that fic thing that you wrote about dum-e the cat and winterironwidow it was super cute) :)
Hello! I’m glad you liked my fic, and thanks for the great prompt! I loved the idea so much that I wrote a bunch of words that I hope make sense, since I haven’t had much practice writing a/b/o, and I hope you enjoy!
Tony stares down at the bouquet, eyes incredibly wide and a hot blush crawling up his neck and into his facewith the intensity that Pepper holds when playing monopoly against Rhodey – theintensity of a person working desperately not to die, since Rhodey is, by allintents and purposes, the master of monopoly.
The bouquet is beautiful, full of whitelilies, all of which shouldn’t be in bloom right now, making it an even bettertreat to look at, and the stems are tied together with a silver ribbon curledto perfection. He looks up from the petals and into Natasha’s face and takes adeep whiff of the scent of a very pleased alpha.
He had been working on Clint’sarrows, since Clint decided that he was going to see just how many arrows Petercould catch with his “spidey-senses” and managed to coat every single arrow inPeter’s webs before they were discovered, when Natasha arrived, making justenough noise to alert him politely, with the bouquet held in her manicuredhands.
She stares back at him, a smallsmile on her face, and says, “I heard they were your favourites.”
“I – they are, thank you,” hereplies, choosing to sniff the flowers in an attempt to hide his horrendousblushing, “How’d you hear that?”
“I have ways.”
“Of course you do. Do they involveinterrogating Rhodey on the ‘mushy’ stuff that he swore he wouldn’t getinvolved in?”
She leans against his workshoptable, one hip cocked, showing off the holster that Jan designed, and says,“Maybe, maybe we’re just very observant and saw how you looked at the flowersin the park before it got destroyed by Hammer’s crappy robots.”
“They are crappy!” Tony agrees, instead of focusing on the warmth growingin his chest at her explanation and the fire that is his once nice complexion.“They looked like they were designed by a drunk toddler, and I think one ofthem was made out of spare vacuum cleaner parts, too.”
“Nothing like your kids,” Natashareplies, glancing over to DUM-E and giving him a smile. DUM-E moves his arm upand down, agreeing, and the interaction makes Tony preen at having his alpha’sapproval. His heart melts, too, when Natasha waves to DUM-E and the bot wavesback.
“Plus,” Natasha shrugs, her smilegrowing as her eyes dart around his face and take in the blush, “You alwayssmell happier with flowers around.”
“I do? I thought I just smelledlike cinnamon and soot, from what Clint said.”
“Clint once fell headfirst into adumpster after tripping over his own shoelaces, so I’d take his words with agrain of salt.” She pushes off the table and leans in close, brushing a soft,barely-there kiss on his cheek, and murmurs in his ear, making him wish that heset the air-conditioning on high before she walked in, “You smell like sunshinewhen you’re happy.”
Natasha reaches out, running herhand down his hair and neck, pressing her wrist to his neck, then smiles evenwider, and adds, “Now I do too.”
She does, actually. Both she andBucky have started to hold his scent like how he holds theirs, but with moreintensity than other bonded couples and groups. Before he has the chance todissect her comment, she smiles at him, looking far too devious, and startstoward the door.
“Wait!” Tony calls after her, andshe pauses, glancing back. He jumps up and walks over, carrying the flowerscarefully, then leans down – because he istaller than someone, thank you very much– and kisses Natasha’s cheek and says, “Thanks, Tasha. I love them.”
Her eyes are bright when he pullsback, and she grins again, overflowing with smugness, then winks at him andwalks away, a certain swagger in her steps and her scent.
His blushing continues, to hiscomplexion’s displeasure, the next day, when he walks into the kitchen in the morning.Sam sits at the table, bent over a notebook and oddly silent, seeing as howBucky stands at the sink, wearing a frilly apron with lace around the edges andlilac lettering that daintily spells out “No Bitchn’ in This Kitchen”. Normally,Sam would be annoying the hell out of Bucky for wearing it, and just for beingnear him, and Bucky would be giving back as good as he got, so Tony is a littlemiffed over the silence.
Bucky glances over when Tonyenters, and his usually blank face lights up, a change that only occurs whenNatasha and Tony are around, or when something embarrassing happens to Sam. Hesteps away from the sink and reaches out, brushing a hand against Tony’s neckand leaving traces of a familiar scent.
Tony smiles, ducking his head, andBucky leans down. He turns his head up, but Bucky leaves a kiss on his foreheadinstead. Tony pouts, pretending he doesn’t have the beginnings of an obviousblush, and Bucky simply laughs, running a hand through Tony’s hair.
“What’s wrong, doll?”
“I swear, you guys only do thisstuff to make me blush.’
“S’cause you blush so prettily, yaknow. You’ve got a cute smile, too.”
Warmth uncurls in his chest, buthe raises his nose to the air and says, “Stop that – stop that right now. I can’t have people seeing meas a mushy romantic – I am an avenger, a CEO, and an amazing person, and I willbe respected as such, and so will you.”
“Debatable,” Sam mutters, rippingout a sheet of paper and crumpling it up. He tosses it into the trash can andrestarts, scribbling furiously on the paper, continually glancing up to stareat the mug in front of him.
At the silence following hiscomment, Sam looks up and glances between them, taking in Bucky’s warning lookand the slight hurt on Tony’s face, then backtracks, adding, quickly, “Irespect you, Tony, always have andalways will, but not the cyborg hobo who still hasn’t learned what a haircut is.”
“Strong words for someonestruggling to sketch out a mug,” Bucky drawls, gently taking Tony’s hand in hismetal one and leading him to the table. He pulls a chair out and stands behindit, waiting for Tony, who huffs a breath and takes the seat, hoping that Samshows enough kindness to not mention how red his face is.
“Strong reply for someonestruggling to make pancakes without burning them,” Sam responds, frowning downat his paper.
“They ain’t burnt – they’reperfect!” Bucky grabs a plate off the counter and plops it down in front ofTony, revealing correctly cooked, if somewhat browner than usual, pancakes.
“Right?” He asks Tony, fidgetingslightly as his hands worry the edges of the apron.
Tony nods immediately and isrewarded with a bright smile and, finally, a kiss on the lips. Sam gags, towhich Bucky flips him off. He gathers up his papers and pencil, muttering,“I’ll get out before you two flood the place with even more of your grossscents.”
“Not gross!” Bucky calls afterhim, “You’re just jealous!”
Sam flips him off as he leaves theroom, the door swinging shut after him. Bucky pulls out the chair next to Tonyand sits down, wrapping an arm around Tony’s waist and holding him close. Hewaits, patiently, as Tony cuts off a piece and tastes it.
It tastes great, surprisingly, since Bucky hasn’t had much practice, and the omega part in the back of hismind preens at having a mate provide for him, even though they live in a timein which killing, hunting, and preparing food isn’t commonplace anymore.
“Well?” Bucky asks, shyer thanbefore.
“It’s great!” Tony says, andBucky’s face breaks out into a warm, blindingly bright smile.
“Need any help, Peter?” Tony asks, after Peter lets out another disheartened, somewhat theatrical sigh.
“Hmm?” Peter glances up, a crayontucked behind his ear and some of the waxy colour pressed into his cheek, adifficult act to achieve. He shrugs, looking back to his schematics, and says, cautiously, “I’m good, just, uh, drawing some stuff, I guess.”
“With crayons?”
“Helps me differentiate betweenthe parts, and, uh, stuff – listen, Mr. Stark – Tony, Mr. Tony-”
“-Just Tony-”
“Tony,” Peter corrects himself, and he glances around the room quickly, scanning the entrances, vents, andwindows with the intensity usually held on the field. He leans in close, andasks, softly, “Are you, you know, uh, happy, with, uh, you know…”
“I really don’t. Some extra nounsand verbs would be helpful, bud.”
“You know…” Peter gestures towardTony, then outside the room, “With Natasha and Bucky and, you know,” Peter’sface heats up in embarrassment, making Tony cheer internally that someone elsehas just a hard of a time at hiding emotions like that, “The relationship and, their – their faces.”
“Their… faces. Listen, Petey-Pie,I’ll be honest here, I’m worried for you. Do you need to get your eyes checked?Because Tasha and Bucky are both incredibly attractive, and it’s not just theirfaces-”
“No!” Peter interrupts, waving hishands to try and cut Tony off, “No, not that, not that at all!”
Tony grins, but quiets down as thesmallest bit of the smell of wariness, a sharp-tinged scent, reaches his nose.He shuffles closer to Peter and says, “What do you mean, then?”
“Just, you know, you’re – you’reyou, and you’re nice and warm and, you know, kind. And, they’re both just…really intimidating and, just, tough,”Peter finishes, lamely. “Are they nice to you?”
Tony pauses for a moment, completely blindsided. He expected something about fraternizing hindering theteam, possible breakups ruining the dynamic, maybe something about the relationship set-up with two alphas andone omega, but he didn’t really expect that since Peter acts a lot kinder andsofter than other teenage alphas, but Tony didn’t expect this. He especially didn’t expect the way Peter sets his jaw, as ifhe’s two seconds from running off to fight Natasha and Bucky at the firstinstance of them not treating Tony right. In all honesty, it warms his heartand makes the back of his head cheer about the close-knit nature of the pack.
Instead of voicing any of thosethoughts, Tony nods, smiles helplessly, and says, “They’re amazing to me. I couldn’tbe happier.”
Peter stares into his face for amoment, then nods. He turns back to his schematics and takes Tony’s help, making the problem simplify faster than it would without his help, untilelevator door opens up and a pair of people enter the floor. Tony sits up andfinds Bucky and Natasha walking into the room, hand-in-hand, and smiles whenthey catch sight of him and smile back.
Natasha slows down as she surveysthe room, glancing between Tony and Peter, and asks, casually yet cautious, “Sowhat’s up, guys?”
“Nothing much, right Peter?” Tonyasks, bumping his shoulder into Peter’s.
“Nothing,” Peter agrees.
“See? The spider genius says so,so it must be true.”
“He’s just staying on his toescause of the lecture you gave him and Clint about the arrows,” Bucky comments.
Peter shoots Bucky a look ofabsolute betrayal, still stinging from Tony’s earlier disapproval. He gathersup his crayons and paper, accepts a quick side-hug from Tony, and leaves theroom, muttering something about fridge magnets – something Tony willinvestigate later with more focus – much, much later, based on how Natashaplops down next to him and runs a hand through his hair while Bucky sits on hisother side and wraps an arm around him.
“You made Peter sad,” Tony says, refusing to be distracted despite Natasha’s best efforts.
“I’ll apologize later,” Buckypromises, pressing himself even closer to them, somehow wrapping his armsaround both Tony and Natasha.
Tony rolls his eyes at the obviousdistraction, but leans into the embrace and Natasha’s hand, and wonders howPeter even got the idea that they weren’t kind to him.

A Beginner’s Guide to Drawing
youtube
Anyone can learn to draw and any artist you look up to. Whether it’s your favorite Italian renaissance man Or your favorite Japanese anime man They were not bestowed some great divine gift of talent. No, they worked for it Never really was anyone just born magically knowing how to draw a portrait Knowing how to paint, knowing how to draw. No, they worked for it and they worked really really hard. They studied every single day of their lives. So whether you want to be the next Michelangelo or you want to draw cute anime girls, Let’s get into what it takes to make a good picture Everything has its basis in “The Fundamentals of Art” (What the hell are the fundamentals?) Well, does your art look like this? Then yeah, you need fundamentals. The fundamentals are like the basis to drawing your picture. You could compare it to needing a foundation before you construct a building.
And in drawing, your sketch is your foundation The fundamentals are often said to consist out of these things: Construction, perception, perspective, composition, anatomy, gesture, color theory, and rendering. Does that sound like a lot? Well just, sit down and listen because once you have learned this stuff, you don’t have to relearn it. Let’s go through the three most important things as a beginner, and then we can quickly go through the rest Perception: When you draw hands, do they look like this? Well, that’s because you’re not actually drawing what you see in front of you You’re drawing the symbols that you see in your head This is called symbol drawing. It means that you need to let go of what you see in your head when someone tells you to draw a hand, An eye or a human being. Instead draw what you actually see in front of you with your own eyes Next time you draw an eye, try to let go of all preconceived ideas of what an eye looks like because it’s not a ball inside another ball.
It’s a…”thing”. Construction: A lot of people start drawing by drawing the outlines but that’s not very helpful. When you instead construct things using shapes, by using construction you will understand the structure of what you are drawing, and it will be easier for you to draw the same thing again from memory. Whether you want to draw a car, or a cool guy with a sword Everything can be built up using construction. If you can draw a square, a ball, and a cylinder then you can basically draw anything that exists Gesture: If you want to draw a character then the gesture will make or break whether the character actually looks alive or not If you draw characters who stand up straight like robots, then it will just look odd. Real people don’t actually stand like this So by practicing gesture and figure drawing, you will be able to, overtime, instinctively capture how humans act or interact with each other. Now a quick summary of the rest! Anatomy: By using what you have previously learned from construction, perception, and gesture, you will be able to draw a human body. Maybe it won’t look good but as long as you push yourself, you will be able to better yourself.
Color Theory: Color theory can be quickly summarized as understanding how color combination works. As you started painting or maybe doing master studies of great works of art, you might find that colors are not always how we perceive them to be. You can get better at color theory by observing nature or studying your favorite art, or your favorite photos. Rendering: This is commonly called shading. This is the act of painting and making something look like a form. You can get a bit lost and just start painting things over and over again hoping something will happen. Mindlessly drawing, mindlessly painting. Instead try to think through each stroke you do Perspective: Perspective is being able to represent a three-dimensional object. Everything is perspective and it isn’t just being able to draw the depth of a building or a landscape. Perspective should also be applied to any character in that space as well Composition: Composition is the arrangement of the image.
It’s organizing how the viewer sees the painting or drawing. The flow of how the viewers eye moves from object to object or Immediately sees the focal point. The object that is meant to draw attention. Composition is also arranging the image So if things aren’t too close or too far apart, and making sure there aren’t tangents that stick out or are too distracting. Hey, what do you know, you actually know all of the fundamentals of the art now. Isn’t that weird? I understand all of this can be really hard to take in at first. You don’t need to attack everything at the same time And you don’t need to practice all of this stuff at the same time. You can take one by one. One thing, practice one thing And then move on to the next. There’s no hurry. A lot of people just jump into drawing without understanding these fundamentals. A lot of people don’t even know about the fundamentals. I didn’t know for the longest time. Now you are ahead of all of those people Even if you have never picked up a pencil before, now you know better than some people who already have.
So while we’re at it. I’m gonna throw in some advice You want to draw a duck? Go ahead, draw a duck. Draw this duck right here. Whoops! Now it’s gone, draw it from imagination. I’m waiting for you to draw the duck. Oh, you’re not doing it? Well, guess what, you failed. You failed at drawing the duck, good job. Wouldn’t it be unreasonable for me to expect you to draw a duck completely from imagination? That’s why you need to use references as much as possible This way, you can draw whatever you feel like. You can put your own spin to it But in order to do that You need to understand the structure of what a real duck looks like. A lot of advanced artists are able to draw ducks completely from imagination but only because they’ve drawn so many before from reference. Also, no, references are not cheating. Don’t draw lines like this It looks very insecure and makes your drawing look chicken scratchy.
Take your time and learn how to do confident lines in one stroke Practice just drawing straight lines over and over again because in time, that practice will pay off Don’t get too caught up with details If you start off a drawing and immediately jump into details then you might find later that “Oh no, the rest of the drawing doesn’t work anymore and I’ve spent all this time doing this thing that I now have to erase.” Along with that, detail is probably the least important thing of your drawing A well-constructed drawing with a lot of good fundamentals but no detail is a good drawing nonetheless On the other hand, a bad drawing with a lot of detail is just a polished turd Now you know a good portion of what you need in order to start drawing But maybe you don’t even know what to use to draw so start off with pen and paper. It’s the cheapest option or a basic tablet. Size small, or size medium.
I find that large size is often too big. Along with that, getting expensive equipment won’t make you a better artist Art skills transfer from medium to medium but there is no magical thing that will make your art better How long it takes until you get good depends entirely on how much effort you put in. You could sit and draw for an hour every day, And that would be 30 hours of effort that you put in every month. On the other hand this guy over here He is drawing 3 hours a day, and he’s getting 90 hours a month. You can go at your own pace But the time and effort that he put in is what you get You can start drawing at any age. You could be 10 years old, you could be 60 It’s a skill that you learn It’s not a magic age that you start from. If you need a reason to draw then the reason is it’s fun and that is enough. But along with that. It’s also very rewarding and in the long run It’s a bit more meaningful than say, playing a video game and raking up imaginary points to get a level or something.
You can make money from art, a lot of people use it as an extra thing to get extra cash as a hobby. Plenty of people make their living from art. If you’re a complete beginner, Then I would recommend that you pick up a pen and paper and draw whatever is on your desk. Draw whatever you feel like You will fail, it will look bad. It’s okay. You will learn from your mistake Once you want to move on from that, you can start with gesture drawings.
At least that’s what I would recommend. And I’m going to link a bunch of sites in the description and videos and stuff like that All of what I said might seem like a lot to take in. You might feel confused, you might feel like you already just want to hand yourself in and give up. Well almost everyone who has ever drawn has felt the same way, and all of the great artists you look up to have made thousands and thousands of mistakes, and thousands of bad drawings But because they were able to push themselves and do better, They did better.
Don’t get too attached to what you’re drawing right now because you’re still learning and things will get easier the more you try it. You will meet new art friends, you will get critique And it will help you and you will push yourself further. Thank you for watching this video! If you are a beginner with any questions or struggles, or maybe you’re an artist who wants to share his beginner experience, go ahead and comment below. Like, when I was starting drawing, I would take a break every hour just so I could sit for a while and think through if I was wasting my time or not. And then weeks later, I realized, “Hey, I haven’t thought about giving up for like a week!” And that was a big accomplishment for me…[Laughs] Like the video if you found it helpful and if you didn’t then please do leave a comment on why, if maybe you would like to add something.
Again, thank you for watching and keep up the good work. Bye bye!.

ANY IDIOT CAN LEARN TO DRAW – A Beginner’s Guide to Drawing
youtube
Anyone can learn to draw and any artist you look up to whether it’s your favorite Italian renaissance man Or your favorite Japanese anime man They were not bestowed some great divine gift of talents now be worked for it Never really was anyone is born magically knowing how to draw a portrait Knowing how to paint knowing how to draw nobody worked for it and we worked really really hard they studied every single day of her Lives so ever you want to be the next Michelangelo or you want to draw cute anime girls? Let’s get into what it takes to make a good picture Everything has its basis in the fundamentals of art what the hell [are] fundamentals? Well does your art look like this then yeah you need fundamentals the [fundamental] basis to drawing your picture you could compare it to needing a Foundation before you construct a building and enjoying your sketch is your foundation the fundamentals are often said consist out of these things construction perception perspective composition anatomy Gesture color theory and rendering that sound like a lot well just sit down and listen because once you have learned this stuff You don’t have to relearn [it] Let’s go through the three most important things as a beginner, and then we can quickly go [through] the rest Perception when you draw hands do they look like this Well, that’s because you’re not actually drawing what you see in front of you [you’re] drawing the symbols that you see in your head This is called symbol drawing it means that you need to let go of what you see in your head when someone tells you to draw hand an Eye or a human being instead draw what you actually see in front of you with your own eyes Next time you draw an eye try to let go of all preconceived Ideas of what an eye looks like because it’s not [a] ball inside another ball It’s a thing construction a lot of people start drawing by drawing the outlines But that’s not very helpful when you instead construct things using shapes by using construction you will Understand the structure of what you are drawing, and it will be easier for you to draw the same thing again from memory [whether] you want to draw a car, or a cool guy with a sword Everything can be built up using construction if you can draw a square a ball and a cylinder then you can basically draw anything that exists Yes, [sure] if you want to draw a character then the gesture will make or break whether the character actually looks alive or not If you draw characters who stand up straight like robots, but it will [just] look odd real people don’t actually stand like this So by practicing gesture and figure drawing you will be able to over time instinctively capture how humans act or interact with each other and Now a quick summary of the rest Anatomy by using what you have previously learned from construction Perception and yester you will be able to draw a human body and maybe it won’t look [good] but as long as you push yourself you will be able to better yourself color theory color theory can be quickly summarized as understanding how color Combination works as you started painting during may be due master studies of great works of art you might find that colors are not always How [we] perceive them to be you can get better at Color theory by Observing Nature or studying your favorite art or your favorite photos? Rendering this is commonly called shading This is the act of painting and making something look like a form you can get a bit lost and you start painting things over And over again hoping something will happen Mindlessly drawing mindlessly painting instead try to think through each stroke you do perspective Perspective is being able to represent a free dimensional object everything is perspective And it isn’t just being able to jog [depth] [up] the building or a landscape Perspective should also be applied to any character in that space as well composition Composition is the arrangement of the image its organizing how the viewer sees for painting or drawing the flow of how the viewers eye moves from objects to object or Immediately sees with focal points the object that is meant to draw attention Composition is also arranging the image So if things aren’t too close or too far apart and making sure they’re on tangents that stick out or too distracting hey What do you know you actually know all of the fundamentals of the art now isn’t that weird? I understand all of this can be really hard to take in at first you don’t need to Attack everything at the same And you don’t need to practice all of this stuff at the same time you can take one by one one thing practice one thing And then move on [to] the next there’s no hurry a lot of people just jump into drawing without understanding these Fundamentals a lot of people don’t even know about the fundamentals.
[I] didn’t know for [a] longest time now You are ahead of all of those people Even if you have never picked up a pencil before now you know better than some people who already have So while we’re at it. I’m gonna throw in some advice You want to draw a duck go ahead draw a duck draw this duck right here whoops now It’s gone start from imagination. I’m waiting for you to draw the duck. [oh], you’re not doing it Well, well, guess what you [failed] you fail at drawing, but duck good job Wouldn’t be unreasonable for me to expect you to draw a duck completely from imagination [that’s] why you need to use reference as much as possible [this] way you can draw whatever you feel like you can put your own spin to it But in order to do that You need to understand the structure [of] what a real duck looks like a lot of advanced artists are able to draw ducks Completely from imagination, but only because [they’ve] drawn so many ducks before from reference also No reference is not cheating don’t draw lines like this It looks very insecure and makes your drawing a look chicken [scratchy] take your time and learn how to do confident lines in one stroke Practice just drawing straight lines over and over again because in time that practice will pay off Don’t get too caught up with details If you start off a drawing and immediately jump into details then you might find later that oh No the rest of the drawing doesn’t work anymore, and I’ve spent all this time doing this thing that I now have to erase along with that detail is probably even least important thing of your drawing a well-constructed drawing with a lot of good fundamentals But no detail is a good drawing nonetheless on The other hand a bad drawing with a lot of detail is [just] a polished turd now You know a good portion of what you need in order to start drawing but maybe you don’t even know what to use to draw so start off with pen and paper of its cheapest option or a Basic tablet size small or size medium I find that large size is often too big along with that getting expensive Equipment won’t make you a better artist Art skills transfer from medium to medium but there is no magical thing that will make your art better How long it takes until you get good depends entirely on how much effort you put in you could sit and draw for an hour?
