You don't enjoy hiding things from Aaron, and he is annoyingly good at figuring you out, you also don't like supporting Abbey lying to her father, but she has been excited to surprise him with her pre-law George Washington acceptance since before she had actually been accepted and the tenderness of it pulled you by your heart strings.

Jack had recently finished his EMT- Intermediate training and chosen your alma mater Virginia Commonwealth University for his Bachelor's in Emergency Medical Science, a proud to be paramedic. You were excited to see Aaron as happy as you are about sharing schools.

He was starting to get worried too, the family's youngest going radio silent about acceptances from colleges, to him, was beginning to seem like Abbey hadn't got any.

That possibility doesn't bother him, really, he just doesn't want his baby girl suffering alone.

He gets home late and tired, as usual. The two cats he was coerced into adopting years ago are the only ones to welcome him in, two balls of black and orange fur rubbing against his legs lightly and purring as he put his keys, phone and wallet on the table by the door.

"Honey? Abbey?" He scrunches down for a minute, giving Monday and Friday his full attention, and back rubs, "Do you know where mom and your sister are, huh, sneaky babies?" They meow in response. "Gonna need a translator for this interrogation." Aaron smiles to himself and stands up, his knees embarrassingly cracking at the action.

"We're cleaning your office!" His brows rose immediately in suspicion, your voice didn't sound like it was coming from the office, and cleaning it was definitely not your responsibility on the chores chart you both built over the years.

Still, he follows the direction, balls of fur by his side, and is met with the room empty, his old almost falling apart too big GW Law sweater that you usually wore to sleep neatly unfolded over his desk. "Whatー"

"SURPRISE!" He doesn't flinch, turning around in a second, a happy smile, showing a bit of teeth even, graces his face when he notices Abbey wearing a GWU sweater. "Pre-law, officially."

Aaron doesn't say anything, walking over to her and engulfing her in a bear-like hug. You watch from the sidelines, seeing tears watering his eyes lightly as you try to hold back your own.

"Baby, please, don't turn into a defense lawyer." He says half-jokingly after letting go of the hug, pride and joy written all over his face.

"Aaron!"

"What? I'm proud but we gotta be careful, don't want her taking people I put in jail out of there."

Abbey rolls her eyes (yours, completely) at him. "I will if they're innocent. Old people make mistakes." The tone and bite to her tongue are completely his. Strong, matter-of-factly, confident.

Smiling at you is his only reaction, love for what you two created together is clear in his eyes.

Love for the family you helped him build, for the fact you raised Jack and Abbey with values that made both want to help people.

So consider early on when you stay with the council and sleeps in the same bed. A few weeks after sorta of coming to terms with everything. Consider sleeping in peaceful before shooting up in a panic bc you’re late for work. Consider rushing out of bed and trying to throw things together to leave. Ignoring the questions from your man saying your late and you have to go. Half asleep, half dressed and half way out the door he grabs your attention. You start to head towards them and when they think you coming back to bed, you give them a kiss goodbye and rush out the door saying you’ll see them later. You make it all the way down the hall before you actually remember your new life. How’s our council reacting.

im picturing this around the time you start answering to akhelio's, and before you get your own room... with the time frame in mind Rhin is extremely confused. You're late? late for what? you dont work in the palace? you're... well he'd rather not put it bluntly but because i dont mind being blunt... you're basically akhelio's pet blood bag right now. I think after you rushing out he's right behind you and smiles when you turn to face him as it hits you. You both just stand in the hallway for a second as a quiet understanding is held in your gazes. GW would obviously chase after you, though i feel like he stops almost midway down the hall and he's got this shit eating grin. Remember, he's also brains not just brawn... he just uses his brawn first. Anyway when you turn to look at him the grin doesn't stop and as he opens his mouth to say something you telling him to 'hush', 'shut up', or 'not a word.' it actually works because he knows how ridiculous you look and that's enough of a treat for him Tiggy is laughing after the initial whiplash and heading out, watching you from his door and then laughing some more as you slowly walk back to his room. There is a 'walk of shame' joke to be made here, and trust he makes the joke and you have to jokingly shove him while walking back into his bedroom with ur head low. Lee gets it. Because despite him being put together, and working for akhelios i feel like there's been at least one day where he though there was a meeting but there wasn't one. Dude's mind is running non-stop and sure he can keep up with it but like, just because he can doesn't mean it doesn't stress him out. So at first he probably tries to help thinking akhelio's requested you without calling, like a previous discussion but then he thinks about it some and rushes to stop you. Granted, you were already halfway down the hall but he still rushed to make sure you were safe and tell you just in case.

overall, tiggy doesn't let you live it down... neither does gw. and maybe after a character arc lee stands up for you stronger than he would have before.

The coin flipping between his fingers continues its path. “Aaron David Hotchner, get out of my house!” you groan “That’s not my middle name,” he whines “And this is an apartment.” You roll your eyes. He’s been here for weeks. Leaving your place after both of you celebrated acceptance into GW’s law program, only for him to show up hours later red eyed and disheveled. You were trying to be a good friend. But you needed your space back. In the time he’s been there he’s eaten through almost half of your food budget for the semester.  “Yes. An apartment much like your own. Across town.” “Are you kicking me out?” “Yes!” “But I’m heartbroken.” “It’s been 3 weeks. Move on. You’re eating all my food and taking all my clothes.” You lean over him and yank at the hem of his sweatshirt — your sweatshirt — for emphasis. He sits up abruptly, almost bumping your heads together as he stands to pace around your bedroom.  You plop yourself down on your bed with a huff, tracking his movements across the room. He stops in front of you and you cheer internally, readying yourself to show him the exit. I owe Hopes Claude an apology, i wasn't familiair with his game.

I used to believe his war against both the empire and kingdom was one of pure idiocy and that he should've attacked after they let the empire exhaust themselves routing the kingdom forces like he did in gw. But I'll admit i really let my bias against hopes Claude get the better of me and now realize this was a good plan and a golden opportunity he cannot miss.

For starters he already convinced Edelgard to fight in a cramped and dangerous location which would negatively impact the power of her superior numbers over others.

Next is the fact that in any 3 way battle the weaker forces should prioritize the strongest force before fighting eachother. So as far as Edelgard is concerned the battle looks like it's Leicester and Faerghus vs Adrestia.

Not to mention Claude had planted his forces within the empire's army making her life even more difficult.

On top of that what Leicester and Faerghus lacks in numbers they make up for it in the form of crests and heroes relics.

And last and certainly not least Claude has a secret weapon called Byleth to increase his odds of victory.

Unfortunately his plan didn't succeed but as Edelgard admitted to it the plan was solid enough to convince her that she had a high chance of losing.

In fact I believe this plan was so good that i wish it was in Golden Wildfire. I also wished the Golden Deers defected alongside Claude to really make it a three way battle between the Golden Deers, Blue Lions and the Black Eagles.

Even tho i still dislike Hopes for what they did to Claude and the second half of gw i can still admit when i let my bias lead me to ignorant claims and admit that i was wrong about certain things.

Remember when people thought Cassian X Emerie would actually happen? I do, and below is a little reminder on why people thought these two characters would be together. (I was not one of these people but I sure do remember the reasons others used.) This situation bears some striking similarities with the current “gw*nriel” phase.

Chapter 8 of A Court of Frost and Starlight is the single chapter on which this ship was based. Lets look at a few key points…

Right off the bat, Cassian is reminded of Nesta while looking at Emerie. And unlike a certain other red head extending her hand toward a bat boy, Cassian actually accepts the handshake here. They make physical contact.

Again, he is reminded of Nesta. This could also be construed as comparing the two. We even have Cassian suppressing a smile.

Cassian and Emerie share a moment of vulnerability and find something in common. Emerie is also suppressing smiles here. Both have now done this during their first encounter.

A bigger smile from Cassian this time. And again he is reminded of Nesta. Now here is the really important part. He uses Nesta’s signature words for Emerie. FIRE AND STEEL. Remind you of anything else being used for more than one character? *cough* secret lovely beauty *cough* Does it remind you of a similar situation where a friendly encounter is taken out of context? *cough* Azriel bonus chapter, the second half *cough*

So there we have it. An encounter between Cassian and Emerie that contains a few sentences that fueled some online vitriol and crackshipping back in the day.

In fact, reading both Wings and Embers and the Az bonus after reading chapter 8 of ACOFAS is pretty interesting. The similarities/patterns are OBVIOUS.

Let's talk about the dreaded pliant bones argument in ACOTAR

First of all, I don't ever want to see this stupid argument anywhere, especially after HOFAS. Second of all, none of the Archeron sisters are Illyrian so they do not have Illyrian anatomy suitable for childbirth. And yet, we see Feysand and Nessian as mates. So it's not like SJM even cared about that herself.

Then ACOSF happens, and oh no, c-sections don't apparently seem to exist and it becomes a BIG DEAL™ that Nesta changed only her own body and Feyre's body to have Illyrian anatomy.

People have been latching onto this argument like Rose on the goddamn Titanic, anything to cling to their sinking ship.

Let's not forget that Elain & Nesta had their bodies changed already once before, against their will. Why the hell would Nesta change Elain's body without obtaining consent after that traumatic experience? That would be a gross violation of bodily autonomy.

And Nesta was shown how to change the bodies. Which could hint that she still knows how, should a similar situation arise again.

But none of that even matters! What matter is that it's 2024 and we are still saying a woman can't be with the man she loves because she can't give him biological children. That is the crux of the argument Gw*nriels always try to skip around and say without saying. Like "oh no!! She can't have his babies!! Ship sank. It's over. The End."

As if a woman should be reduced down to her ability to procreate. This is not the middle ages people! Wake up!

Also, not to mention, even if we use that disgusting logic - The only other female in this series that is mentioned to have Illyrian anatomy is Emerie. Are we shipping Azriel with Emerie now? Because she can FOR SURE have his babies, if that's all that matters. Who cares about her own desires and personality and sexual preferences if she can have illyrian kids??

Now let's consider what people have been latching onto:

Gwyn...is flexible and adapts to training moves quickly. That's why Nesta commented she had "pliant bones", that's IT. She is part nymph and "has different anatomy than high fae", sure, but is that anatomy in any way, Illyrian? Water nymphs don't have Illyrian leathery wings either so I don't understand why insisting Gwyn has "pliant bones" is in any way endgame ship material. Why would her half-water nymph heritage give her the anatomy to birth a full grown illyrian-winged baby??

And then there's the cowards that use this argument by hiding behind SJM herself by saying "Well, I hate it too, but SJM is *kinda* known for writing like this and her characters are all male-dominated, fae-territorial blah blah, she is *kinda* hinting at endgame because the womb thing–" NO. No.

Don't hide. Tell the room exactly what you are saying. Which is the exact same misogynistic spiel as above, where you try to use gross medieval logic to justify your mf fictional ship, but you hide your faces when you say it. Because you know it's wrong, but you're still not above using that as "evidence" in your ship's favor.

I've even said before, I don't care what SJM says. If I don't like a misogynistic take, I am not using that as evidence in any capacity for any reason.

I'm not even being biased by my preferred ship. I genuinely just want people to stop using this argument because it's hurtful to women as a whole. Ship wars are fine, but ffs, when did we get to the point where we are pitting two women against each other based on whose uterus is more suitable??

And before you even say "I just have a problem because I ship Elriel" No. No.

It's about these kinds of cheap arguments in general. I have also never been one to go off saying how Gwyn can't be a valid love interest because her past SA trauma - That argument is also archaic and hurtful. I've never once used it. I don't like seeing it.

Can we just - Not do it? The only reason such arguments have gained traction is because they're constantly echoed by the toxic sides of the fandom online. It's gross and I don't want to be a part of a group that condones that.

Ship who you want, but let's just be respectful about it. We should not have to resort to cheap arguments like the above.

While solar power is growing at an extremely rapid clip, in absolute terms, the use of natural gas for electricity production has continued to outpace renewables. But that looks set to change in 2024, as the US Energy Information Agency (EIA) has run the numbers on the first half of the year and found that wind, solar, and batteries were each installed at a pace that dwarfs new natural gas generators. And the gap is expected to get dramatically larger before the year is over.

Solar, Batteries Booming

According to the EIA's numbers, about 20 gigawatts of new capacity was added in the first half of this year, and solar accounts for 60 percent of it. Over a third of the solar additions occurred in just two states, Texas and Florida. There were two projects that went live that were rated at over 600 megawatts of capacity, one in Texas, the other in Nevada.

Next up is batteries: The US saw 4.2 additional gigawatts of battery capacity during this period, meaning over 20 percent of the total new capacity. (Batteries are treated as the equivalent of a generating source by the EIA since they can dispatch electricity to the grid on demand, even if they can't do so continuously.) Texas and California alone accounted for over 60 percent of these additions; throw in Arizona and Nevada, and you're at 93 percent of the installed capacity.

The clear pattern here is that batteries are going where the solar is, allowing the power generated during the peak of the day to be used to meet demand after the sun sets. This will help existing solar plants avoid curtailing power production during the lower-demand periods in the spring and fall. In turn, this will improve the economic case for installing additional solar in states where its production can already regularly exceed demand.

Wind power, by contrast, is running at a more sedate pace, with only 2.5 GW of new capacity during the first six months of 2024. And for likely the last time this decade, additional nuclear power was placed on the grid, at the fourth 1.1-GW reactor (and second recent build) at the Vogtle site in Georgia. The only other additions came from natural-gas-powered facilities, but these totaled just 400 MW, or just 2 percent of total new capacity.

The EIA has also projected capacity additions out to the end of 2024 based on what's in the works, and the overall shape of things doesn't change much. However, the pace of installation goes up as developers rush to get their project operational within the current tax year. The EIA expects a bit over 60 GW of new capacity to be installed by the end of the year, with 37 GW of that coming in the form of solar power. Battery growth continues at a torrid pace, with 15 GW expected, or roughly a quarter of the total capacity additions for the year.

Wind will account for 7.1 GW of new capacity, and natural gas 2.6 GW. Throw in the contribution from nuclear, and 96 percent of the capacity additions of 2024 are expected to operate without any carbon emissions. Even if you choose to ignore the battery additions, the fraction of carbon-emitting capacity added remains extremely small, at only 6 percent.

Gradual Shifts on the Grid

Obviously, these numbers represent the peak production of these sources. Over a year, solar produces at about 25 percent of its rated capacity in the US, and wind at about 35 percent. The former number will likely decrease over time as solar becomes inexpensive enough to make economic sense in places that don't receive as much sunshine. By contrast, wind's capacity factor may increase as more offshore wind farms get completed. For natural gas, many of the newer plants are being designed to operate erratically so that they can provide power when renewables are underproducing.

A clearer sense of what's happening comes from looking at the generating sources that are being retired. The US saw 5.1 GW of capacity drop off the grid in the first half of 2024, and aside from 0.2 GW of “other,” all of it was fossil-fuel-powered, including 2.1 GW of coal capacity and 2.7 GW of natural gas. The latter includes a large 1.4-GW natural gas plant in Massachusetts.

But total retirements are expected to be just 7.5 GW this year—less than was retired in the first half of 2023. That's likely because the US saw electricity use rise by 5 percent in the first half of 2024, based on numbers the EIA released on Friday. (Note that this link will take you to more recent data a month from now.) It's unclear how much of that was due to weather—a lot of the country saw heat that likely boosted demand for air-conditioning—and how much could be accounted for by rising use in data centers and for the electrification of transit and appliances.

That data release includes details on where the US got its electricity during the first half of 2024. The changes aren't dramatic compared to where they were when we looked at things last month. Still, what has changed over the past month is good news for renewables. In May, wind and solar production were up 8.4 percent compared to the same period the year before. By June, they were up by over 12 percent.

Given the EIA's expectations for the rest of the year, the key question is likely to be whether the pace of new solar installations is going to be enough to offset the drop in production that will occur as the US shifts to the winter months.

If you or your friend do have one of the capes, you can enter the playground— which is an area that locks the camera so you can play in “2D” (there is an option to turn it to 3D in the level). The capes are available to buy to anyone playing on switch.

The war: If you’ve spent any time looking at Sky’s lore, it is fairly clear that, at some point, there was a war. The general themes of the golden wasteland (spirits, elder, the battlefield), the Aurora concert (the seed and eyes of a child), the consistent sword and shield imagery… something definitely happened here, though it’s unclear what.

Megabird: In Orbit, if you look up at the sky, there are a bunch of stars— many of which forming what looks to be a birdlike head. You can see it more clearly during the credit sequence. This is believed by many to be an entity known as the Megabird, who is basically the god of this world— the one who created everything.

Eggs in boneyard: To the right of the broken bridge, there is a tree that has some light blue eggs in its top.

King/Prince: An entity/entities which appear(s) most in concept art and the statues from the battlefield in GW. Very little is known about them, apart from them being the king of Sky at some point before the events of the game— completing the trials of prophecy and henceforth becoming ruler. It’s unclear if the King and Prince are separate entities. It’s a common theory that they were a skykid, or the first skykid, hence why the trials were easier for them. Their concept names are Alef for the Prince, and Resh for the King (more on that later).

Darkstone: Darkstone is most present in collecting it during the Season of Abyss and activating some doors, and has been theorized to be the downfall of the kingdom of Sky, acting as a metaphor for climate change and nature vs technology. It has been theorized that this is what caused the war— the Isle, Prairie, and Forest not wanting to go further, while Valley, Wasteland, and Vault wanted progression. It has also been proven to originate from what looks to be sucking the Light from light creatures, primarily mantas presumably.

Constellation: In the “Concert in the Light” album, the song that plays during the credits can be found, so people can finally listen to the song on platforms other than YouTube (though the official version cuts off the second half, only including the part with Aurora’s vocals). In this album, the name of the song is “Constellation”.

Elders’ old names: In concept art, the elders all had names based off Hebrew letters. In order from Isle to Vault: Daleth, Ayin, Teth, Samekh (sometimes Sah for one and Mekh for the other to differentiate, but they share the name), Tsadi, and Lamed. They’re also sometimes referred as the time of day their realm represents: Dawn, Day, Rain, Sunset, Dusk, and Night.

Light Awaits: An early version/prototype/beta of Sky, before it was released as what it is now.

Chinese servers: Like many multiplayer games, China has their own version of the game with its own servers, and a slightly different way of running things. Based off some discord messages, they might choose the traveling spirit based on what the community wants rather than it being random, and have different events.

With the continual Miqcourse again I suppose I will be brave and admit that I think Mohg was charmed before he kidnapped Miquella and that he would not have attempted such a thing if he weren't. On the flipside, I don't think Miquella had any intention or plan to 'use' Mohg's body for his consort until long after he'd been traveling in the Shadow Lands and 1) found the secret rite scroll and 2) divested himself of his doubts and love.

Maybe this second part doesn't exactly fit the bill, but I think the Shadow Bound Beast lore is really inconsistent and half-baked. How are the Fingers (because the GW isn't around, mind) popping out wolf-men specifically to keep Empyreans in line? Why are the wolf men so awful at their jobs?? Why don't Miquella and Malenia have wolf men if they are Empyreans???
