Currently reading: "Hagakure - Samurain tie" by Yamamoto Tsunetomo. The Finnish part translates to "the path of a Samurai". So...uh. Having run a TTRPG system based on samurai (Legend of Five Rings) and drafting a fic that takes place in Inazuma (largely Japan-based region in Genshin Impact the video game), I wanted to do a bit of research on the culture with the limited resources my public library could provide.

There has been something bugging me since I watched the Inazuma Eleven GO and Danball Senki W crossover movie:

The fact that Kinako Nanobana makes an appearance.

No, I do not think that her involvement in the movie makes it bad or anything. She was one of the most helpful characters, trying to be a peacemaker for her friends.

The problem I have is more tied to the ACTUAL lore of the story, mainly the CS storyline. Why did she appear again after going back to her time? Why isnt anyone confused, despite no one in the stadium except a select few (Raimon, Shinsei Inazuma Japan, and possibly Inazuma Legend Japan as well) knew who she is? Speaking of which, spoiler warning for Inazuma Eleven GO: Chrono Stone and Inazuma Eleven GO v.s. Danball Senki W, as well as a few other Inazuma Eleven movies.

Kinako Nanobana was first introduced in episode 18. At first, no one knew who she is except the other members of Raimon who were affected by the Time Paradox.

It was later revealed that her purpose of suddenly being in the Raimon team was to aid them in their journey stopping El Dorado from erasing soccer, and then help defeating Feida, preventing them from taking over the world.

The whole Chrono Stone story was caused by the war between Feida and El Dorado; a war that happened 200 years after the events of Inazuma Eleven GO. It was, however, foreshadowed by the movie Inazuma Eleven GO: Kyūkyoku no Kizuna Gryphon. At the end of the movie, Sengujji Daigo and Ishido Shuuji were talking about the possibility of Second Stage Children already existing. Ishido Shuuji also wore the Time Bracelet; a device given by Supporter X to him and Yuuichi, which prevents him from being affected by the Time Paradox.

Consideing that Fei was around the age of the Feida kids and the members of Raimon, then he should be 13-15 years old at the events of CS. Kinako seemed to be around her twenties when she gave birth to Fei, making her Fei's age 20-30 years before.

Being a teen around 20-30 years before Fei, still makes her timeline WAY to far from the Ina GO Raimon kids. Not to mention that she appears the same age as when they first met her.

Then why did she appear in the movie? Did everyone manage to still have contact after CS ended? Was there somehow a way for her to travel back in time, despite not being from 200 years away?

There are a lot of reasons of why she chose to appear, but I will only include 2 on this post.

Theory 1: Asurei Fei Left Kinako a Time Travelling Device

Back in CS, we were given a scene where Kinako and Asurei first met. Asurei told her that he needed Kinako's help to look over Fei. We DIDN'T however, see any scene of them causing any Time Paradoxes or travelling to GO Raimon's time.

Since we have the whole 'we didn't get to see Kinako and Asurei time travel' thing, how they travelled and created a Time Paradox is up to our interpretation.

One of the ways they could have done it is by finding the timeline that the 5 Raimon kids who were not affected by Beta's mind control would jump to. We weren't really told how Time Paradoxes could be made (other than meddling with the timeline directly.)

Maybe Asurei gave the responsibility of changing the timeline to Kinako. Asurei's plan was to look over Fei; and by doing so have to help Feida as Supporter X. Maybe this plan REALLY requires him to stay away from his family, or it might spark some suspicion from Feida. So he either helped create the Time Paradox for Kinako or just sent Kinako to go to the past to change the timeline as she wants.

Theory 2: This Was All Caused By the Imbalance From Fran's Destruction

A lot of sci-fi stories regarding time travelling or some sort of mass destruction in the timeline leads to the most major changes. So according to that, Fran's mission of erasing of the universe might have been the reason the timeline changed and put Kinako in Ina GO's time.

We all know how powerful Fran is; being able to travel to where and whenever in the universe, as well as remove and return anything she desires, as long as its in a natural state (for example: trees and grass in a barren field).

That being said, she didn't seem to delete everything AT ONCE. But we know that the universe likes balance, such as the instance where the false timeline Tsurugi Yuuichi and Endou Daisuke returns back to their original states after the Ina GO timeline goes back to normal. It seems that whatever Fran deletes, it opens to more possibilities in said universe; even so that it can open up to different ones. it would be a while before she can remove "violence" completely.

Speaking of the opening of any possibilities that can appear, Fran's deletion in process might have sent Kinako to live in Ina GO's time. Maybe even make her actually stay. But it will still contradict the fact that Fei seemingly still came from the future. So a more rational explanation is that Kinako might have resided for a while before going back to her timeline. Making her live and get known by people, before leaving again.

I guessed it...well almost.

When we first met Kazuha I knew he was likely dead. I thought that he was bullied because of the falling Kaedahara clan which caused his death and now he is a wandering spirit stuck to the building, unable to move on to after life.

Either from bullies accidentally going too far and pushed him off the roof or he jumped off the roof himself. And that's why he told Y/n to not tell others about meeting him and the spot could have been his where he used to hide from bullies to be alone. Thank god this was not it, that would have been worse.

Because from the articles and news I've read, bullying is sadly common and prevalent in Japanese schools. In Evermore Y/n is originally from Inazuma which was inspired by Japan and they have a lot of creepy urban legends about vengeful spirits.

that’s acc why suicide was one of the first things that came up on my mind when thinking of a reason why kazuha died (the part ab how bullying is sadly common in japan). however, that’d be a bit too cruel of me to do that on poor kazuha. so i scratch that and decided to go for the car accident.

i was acc supposed to not drop hints about kazuha being possibly dead, but i also didn’t want anyone to have high hopes for him being a part of the series as a potential love interest, so i decided to put at least a few hints for u guys to not have high expectations 🤞🤞🤞

If a mortal is able to see past the illusion…to a kitsune it is seen as a divorce.

guys i think i figured out why the fatui have fighters of all elements besides dendro, and why when the game released there were 0 dendro characters

the dendro archon is dead.

now before you go "nah lol what about dr. baizhu" firstly we dont know how he acquired his vision. he could've inherited the vision from his ancestors or uses it to stay immortal (since we dont know what dendro can do).

and of course, i have some backing.

i'll try to keep this brief.

1) the flower ball tradition

in the book called "customs of liyue: flower ball" they mention that the tradition may have started because of the salt goddess.

it states:

"Others say it dates back to before the Archon War, when the Salt God roamed free in Liyue. She once stood shoulder to shoulder with the many gods of Liyue, but her extraordinary gentle nature saw her quickly ousted in the hubris of the Archon War, before being ruthlessly murdered by one of her own followers.

"Her remains are likely to be found somewhere in the ruins of the area known as “Sal Terrae”. According to a legend that time has unfortunately stripped of all useful detail, she once handed out bunches of flowers to her people as a blessing to them. Or at least, if not a blessing, then a small gesture of comfort to stave off the bitterness of wartime existence. In any case, following her return to the elements, it is conceivable that her followers spread across Liyue, took this custom with them, and taught it to the locals. The people of Liyue being a competitive and fun-loving folk, they may then have adapted it and embellished upon it to suit their own preferences."

the salt goddess could've handed out visions in the flower bunches she gave out before she died, and one of her followers could've been one of them. the follower murdered her to test out their powers, or thought that they could replace the dendro archon.

2) the salt goddess

so far we know that mondstadt (anemo nation) is based off of european countries and liyue (geo nation) is based off of china. there's also the mention of inazuma, most likely based off of japan and will probably be the pyro or hydro nation. we also know that the cyro archon is the leader of the fatui. there is also fischl's hometown (based off of germany) that will most likely be the electro nation.

so that leaves dendro.

due to dr. baizhu's appearance we can infer that the dendro nation will most likely be inspired by southeast asia or the aztec regions. or, the dendro nation simply crumbled a long time ago (see the sal terrae section).

the reasoning?

why specify that she is a salt goddess?

well, by just searching up "salt god" on google will show an aztec god of salt, huixtocihuatl. she was a fertility goddess of salt and was said to be related to the rain gods.

hint hint, rain is related to hydro, and hydro will most likely have an elemental reaction to dendro. nudge nudge.

3) dr baizhu

dr baizhu himself is very good reason of why the dendro archon is dead. from mondstadt to liyue we have only seen one dendro user, while there are multiple of the other elements.

there is only one person out of all the vision users we've seen with a dendro vision, showing how rare it is for someone to have one. which most likely means that the archon has stopped giving them a long time ago (see sal terrae section).

there are some possible reasons. the archon has withdrawn from the human world, hasn't seen anyone worth giving a vision, or is dead.

4) the sal terrae

a salt god will most definitely be buried in liyue. however what she was doing there was very strange

according to the book called "diary of roald the adventurer", the salt goddess was sheltering humans from the archon war. she was very gentle and kind in an era where humans were expendable.

the sal terrae used to be a safe haven for humans until the first king of the people, who believed that gentleness was a weakness, killed the salt goddess. when she died, sal terrae crumbled like salt along with all the people in it.

it's possible that the first king had a dendro vision, since those with visions are said to be blessed by the gods. this also implies that multiple residents of sal terrae and humans who refused to live there have dendro visions.

and since the sal terrae was in liyue and visions and gnosises are indestructible, dr baizhu could've been visiting the area for herbs and chanced apon a vision.

extra: mitachurls, samachurls and slimes

these three monsters seem to be able to use dendro with no problem. probably because they ARE elements.

a shield mitachurl will smash a dendro slime to recreate its shield, and will throw dendro slimes at you if you get too far away.

a samachurl using dendro can cause AoE damage to its enemies and healing to its allies. they can also create vines that will only go away once burnt.

and dendro slimes act like normal slimes except for being able to hide in the ground and travel through it. they also look very cute.
