ok so i do like hades colors here but minthe really doesnt fit with the artstyle going on right now
2. i really like how like this episode starts out minthe as being a "goldigger" who only cares about shallow things but as we see more about her and learn more we learn that is basically the opposite? ALSO what minthes doing here (even i fhtye were in the msot committed relationship ever or soemthing) isnt that bad? and it doesnt give hades an excuse to make eys at persephone, as we learn more we find out how minthe is a VICTIM (not excusing her CHARACTER ASSINATION actions, because ik sm will say that)
3. im really in interested on how being "shallow and fake" is treated in LO, like "all the fine suits in the world wont change the fact he smells like death" but does he have anything other then being rich? what else is good in his personality for someone to like him? and his smell, well thats something that will always be with him, its a sacrifice he made when he became the king of UW. and minthes being treated like a shallow bitch here (BUT WE KNOW THAT SHE DOES CARE FOR HIM) im so interested in their relationship. but like why is minthe interested in hades? also back to the topic of wealth and shallowness, like its presented that minthe and hades had this "sugar baby sugar daddy" relationship and hades blurred the lines somehow? just thoughts?

I dont like praising capitalisms progressive aspects becayse i think this has increasingly become the job of right-deviationist idiot MLs who use it as an excuse to permantly defer thinking about communism qs though productive forces still arent deceloped enough, as though the question isnt resouletly now one of distribution and structuring. But regardless while it will forever be tragic and disgusting the brutal way it was done linking the entire world together and allowing us to all talk with one another remains an amazing achievement. We should be ruthlessly cosmopolitan, we should celebrate the diversity of human existence it is a genuinely wonderful thing that against the force of capitalist homogenity we are all so different and that we can be different alongside each other. White people's racism is the biggest obstacle to this and indeed probably yo the overrthrowing of capitalism and we in our hate and narrowmindedness genuinely threaten to ruin everything and I think while the fact racism materially advantages us is extremely important and should never be sidelined in discussions it remains true that being a racist does just rip you out from the world and render you a barely cognitative husk who cant comprehend your place in the world and you shoukd not want to be that even if it does mean u get paid 40% more

When I get into a spirited argument with somebody, thinking I have the upper hand in the debate.
Typing out my reply with panache and a smug grin creeping across my lips.
"Facts, morality, popular opinion, all are on my side! The holy trinity!!! How could they possibly recover? I truly am the master debater." I reassure myself.
Then they post a soyjak.
My body immediately collapses in on itself, my own wails lost among billions as my physical form is consumed to rebirth the universe.

Was Jesus from ðe Bible a warlock or cleric?
Discuss.
now i don't know too much about Mr. Jesus Bible himself, but i DO know a bit about dnd (and i have dnd beyond pulled up). i personally think hes a cleric but i can also see the argument for warlock, with god being his patron. but i think it all comes down to flavor, while warlocks are employees of the unknowable doing whatever with some help from an eldritch benefactor, clerics are divine agents doing what their god needs of them. while warlocks are shooting eldritch blasts and researching ancient tomes, clerics are out healing people and promoting their god. Jesus is to chill to be a warlock hes the towns local cleric feeding healing people and doing party tricks for children.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but where you're at now isn't set in stone. You won't be in your current situation forever. Things will change, time will pass. inevitably things will improve if you push for them to do so. So let that knowledge free you of the burden of feeling trapped in your current situation.
In the grand scheme of things, we're simply specks of dust in a vast void of essentially nothing. Our whole existence is merely a blip on the entire timeline of reality akin to the smallest fraction of a second. So let that knowledge free you of the burden of feeling like you're wasting time.
Numbers, words, basically any concept we can think of existed long before humans could quantify them and will continue to exist long after. Gravity existed before humans even existed let alone knew what it was or found a way to quantify it, and it will continue to exist forever after. It's all fake. So let that knowledge free you of the burden of needing all the answers or the fear of being incorrect.
In 100 years or so, nobody is gonna remember that one mistake you made that one time, or that time you were late to that thing. It doesn't matter. None of it. Let that knowledge free you from the burden of feeling guilty over every little stumble on your way through life.
Push for better things. Do what you need to do to make things better for yourself. You are made of stardust and other amazing things and running on less electricity than it takes to power a lightbulb. Things will be better so long as you believe they can be. Everything will be fine.

I have repeatedly seen (most recently from "dude who liked his own post in the main tag just now, whom I have blocked") the statement of "Critical Role's TTRPGs are designed for Actual Play and it will ruin the industry" and literally no one has articulated how. This is why I am Child From The Emperor's New Clothes. People just say things all the time and assume no one will say "what do you mean by that" and like. If someone says this, they are required to explain:
1. How a TTRPG would be designed specifically for Actual Play without also by necessity being simply a story-driven TTRPG you could play without it being an Actual Play show, which is extremely normal for TTRPGs and something people like.
2. Daggerheart gets criticized for being both too like and too unlike D&D. Similiarly, Candela Obscura gets criticized for being both too like and too unlike Blades in the Dark. These are also both popular games for Actual Play. What gives. What specifically are you looking for from TTRPGs?
3. Kids on Bikes and Cortex, just to name two extremely open narrative systems frequently used for Actual Play that I'm familiar with: too Actual Play-y? If not, why? If so, why haven't you said this? Is there a grandfather clause? Do we judge TTRPGs on intent? Rusty Quill Gaming literally had Grant Howitt on and played like five of his games. Can you discuss what this means re: actual play and ttrpgs and if it's good or bad.
4. How this prevents people from making TTRPGs that are bad for Actual Play, or otherwise destroys the industry.

So, I think we can now feel 100% sure that Alastor HAS made a deal with someone, but not only do I now think it could be someone other than Lillith since she's up in heaven (but it still makes the most sense) - I also think it's very clear Alastor does GENUINELY care about Charlie and has been helping her and others not just for his own gain, but because he can. And THAT is what's driving him mad, and whoever has him in chains most likely doesn't want him getting attached or feeling sympathy for others.
He's been asked to do somebody's bidding, that's for sure, and part of the reason he'll have made a deal in the first place is to gain even more power for himself, hence why he's latched onto Charlie, daughter of THE most powerful overlords in Hell. His own agenda does certainly come into it and I believe he started this for selfish reasons, but now he's allowed himself to care too much, which is not only sending him crazy because it's changing him as a person, but he may well be terrified of the consequences based on whoever's controlling him.
His line in the finale song, "Sorry to disappoint", made me think he was certainly addressing his captor, not himself. He's SCARED AS FUCK, and that's making him lose it.

Ketheric selling himself to Myrkul to bring Isobel back, because he loves his child.
Durge and Orin, whose whole lives revolve around the child sacrificing themselves for the parent being ???
And Gortash's inner child is going "sounds fake, but ok." I mean, he presumably knows that many parents don't sell their kids to the Hells to save their own skin, but still.

just had an au idea where minthe is a up and comic punk star trying to get her big break, struggling with her finances and has a toxic friendship and relationship with thetis and hades (which im very interested in exploring) who eventually gets a deal in a girl band with Persephone Krokos and Withy, (I really want to flesh out of Krokos and Withy) Minthe is a toxic bitch to them and is also jealous of them having a healthy friendship. Shes also in denial of being a lesbian, because of homophobia, and the general context that "nymphs are only good for making babies for gods, and being pretty pets", she also needs hades because of her financial situation + some kind of friendship with him. While havign all of this shes also havign a slowburn romance with Persephone and finding out that she has a dark side, (aka killed a bunch of mortals).

I love Ren presumably using "we" and "us" because he's acting as if both his and Tango's souls are still present as he is possessing Tango, but also like lore-wise. Just considering it in lore is like.
I'm reading this whole thing as Ren taking over Tango when his character didn't really need to have a sub. In Pearl's case during Limited Life, she was taken out because she didn't have enough time to recover from how much Double Life affected her and Cleo just. Idk needed a break from their messy family drama or something. However with Tango and Ren, Ren was acknowledging Tango kore than Lizzie or Gem addressed Pearl and Cleo. Ren even explicitly says that he feels like something inside him (as much as that sounded. Horrible in the moment. Goddammit he can't escape the innuendoes, can he?).
Idk I've just been....thinking about. I'm not the smartest when it comes to this #Lore stuff, and idek if this is coherent but MAN. The idea of Tango vaguely knowing something is up, but not really being able to do anything about it is just.

tims emancipation must have looked so crazy to the average person... like first tim drake ("wait, the milk carton kid from no mans land?") gets adopted by bruce wayne ("i still think he killed that lady--his ex girlfriend." "you remember how his first adopted kid died? in a terrorist attack overseas. Allegedly." "i thought he had another kid before that..." "did he kill that one too?????" "no that ones a cop now i think" "yikes"), bruces biological kid shows up ("yeah wayne had like a fling with the ceo of lexcorp i heard" "BRUCE WAYNE MPREGGED LEX LUTHOR??????" "no remember the woman who took it over when luthor ran for president?" "oh yeah... whats she up to now" "maybe he had her disappeared like he did with his kid"), "bruce wayne" starts running his company into the ground, and in one fell swoop tim files for emancipation, takes the company over, and announces his "engagement" to the daughter of i think the coo of w.e? not sure what lucius' official title was at that point and can't be arsed to check. but all this happening less than a full year after being adopted in the first place.... from an outside perspective this looks like the most bonkers hostile takeover of all time
like actually no wonder tim was a tabloid darling for months, its a shame the actual execution made no damn sense

Worm fans are really bad at making the connection between "Cauldron is really ruthless" and "Cauldron regards all parahumans as numbers on a spreadsheet at best, livestock at worst". The mentality is that Cauldron is only ruthless when they choose the Renegade option in a specific situation. The idea that their ruthlessness is systemic doesn't register
I guess that explanation makes some sense, but also, its so central to the story's themes that Cauldron isn't just mean or something, but in fact systematic and unrelentingly ruthless in their pursuit of any chance to save humanity. The way Cauldron mirrors how the entities operate, the fact that they control the PRT/Protectorate, Doc Mom genuinely not remembering who Sveta is, etc. There's a lot there, and it all impacts the narrative!
I could even kind of see how someone would miss that if they were caught up in the personal tragedy of Doc Mom and Contessa... except Worm fans are also really bad at realizing that Cauldron is run by two or three people who gave up their entire lives at very young ages and are now desperately throwing things at the wall hoping just one of them will stick so that this won't all have been for nothing.
They're somehow simultaneously overestimating and underestimating the inhumanity of cauldron, and I think it has a lot to do with the whole "one death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic", and "banality of evil" thing. Seeing Contessa curbstomp the found family that is Faultline's crew feels horrific because of how visceral and small scale it is. Meanwhile, even if we intellectually know that Cauldron is treating human lives as abstract numbers like currency, it doesn't stick in some people's brains the same way. Or at least that's my best guess.
The real take away of this though is that Worm fans are bad at book.
