Tumblr media Tumblr media
୧ ⎯⎯ SYNOPSIS ;; what do the ninja do on your birthday? [feat. the ninja and pixal + three extra ]
୧ ⎯⎯ WARNINGS ;; profanity ;; written incredibly platonic ;; some silly goofy things ;; reader leans female but majority gender neutral ;; some slight angst
୧ ⎯⎯ NOTES ;; happy belated birthday <33 fun fact, it was also my dog's birthday. also, kai being so big brother and excited to celebrate someone's birthday is so true
Tumblr media
  ୧ ⎯⎯ ZANE JULIEN
#✧ zane told everyone the night before (after you vanished for a while) that it was your birthday today. but with the way he so casual woke up on your birthday, at the usual times he did and everything, it took you a good minute to realise, hey. i'm old today.
#✧ and being the wonderful nindroid he was he made you several little trinkets, from a little charm of your element to several badges of things you like– because, well you're the only ninja missing them on your gi (he and jay made them for everyone and disrupted them on each person's birthday). but the moment he saw cole scheming something, zane held back on gifting it to you.
#✧ so to make up for it, he turned into a brother (kai probably coded it into him) and showed you small affections through the day. ruffling your hair, patting you on the back, hugging, everything. not that he doesn't on a daily basis, he's a little less expressive normally.
  ୧ ⎯⎯ COLE BROOKSTONE
#✧ he remembered it was your birthday, yes but the hard part was what to get you. he opted for something easy and simple, cake. and because he had so often bought cake (for himself a lot of the time), you didn't quite suspect him getting it for you when you saw the box in the fridge, pushed to the back. cole got you a small one in your favourite flavour and colour, with “happy birthday, [name]” written in cursive on the top in your gi's colour. the sun had barely risen at the time when he got it.
#✧ that was when it hit him, whilr driving back home from the store, that they should have a small party at night. so to be a substitute for now giving you a gift throughout the day, he decided to (harmlessly) use dad jokes on you. (and it's the bad ones to.)
#✧ when you finally show up for morning training, he's the first (after zane) to wish you. engulfing you in the warmest and biggest dad hug of the damn century with the silliness jokes and laughter as he wishes you.
  ୧ ⎯⎯ KAI JIANG
[ HEADCANNON ;; kai is half indian (maya's side) and half chinese (ray's side). and if you ever met an indian, if it's not real gold or diamond– then what you doing?? ]
#✧ nya held him back for the while —swapping with zane to hug you herself— everyone was wishing you; because he was going to brother hug knock you out. (figuratively, literally: he was not going to let anyone wish you because he'd be too hyper to function properly, like usual on someone's birthday.)
#✧ something something he definitely bought you gold jewelry, something simple like earrings, a nose ring or a simple necklace. and kai spent no worry to have expensive it would be to get it custom made, he literally had it made like a whole half year and and a few months in advance before your birthday.
#✧ but since cole had the plan of the party, he substituted to annoying your guts instead of gifting you the jewelry. safe to say that it was your villain origin story...
  ୧ ⎯⎯ NYA JIANG
[ HEADCANNON ;; nya is half indian (maya's side) and half chinese (ray's side). ]
#✧ the moment she hugged you, she might have broken your back–
#✧ like kai, she got you some jewelry custom made for you, a matching set with what he got but it's distinct enough to be something she got you and stand on its own. she had to made towards the end of the previous year when she, zane and pixal go to buy everyone's gifts for the next year.
#✧ but for the time being, she and lloyd at some point (he was too because it pay back for last year when they did the same thing for a while week before and after his birthday) were helping you hide away from kai and cole being absolute menaces to your sanity. but it's all in good fun, shows it gonna be a good day.
  ୧ ⎯⎯ JAY WALKER
#✧ one of the two people that forgot it was your birthday, despite the fact he was finishing up the whole ass bike for a whole ass year was quite literally your birthday gift. jay didn't have a very good memory (it doesn't even come near to rivaling wu's though) and when he did realise, boy appeared next to you immediately while apologizing for forgetting and wishing you. he may have short circuited a little when he used his element to speed himself up so he could hightail it from the junkyard to the monastery.
#✧ on the topic of the gift, he was working on it at his parents' junkyard instead at the monastery because it was so much easier to hide it in the junkyard. throw some tarps and cover it up with some junk and you got it.
#✧ but being the loving brother he is, he sat back and watched you wreck your brains over the terrible dad jokes and annoying shit kai was pulling, stepping in to annoy you even more at some point before he disappeared to go and get the damn bike.
  ୧ ⎯⎯ LLOYD M. GARMADON
#✧ he forgot, but it was expected. he never really cared for birthdays —darkley's never celebrated him and they only matter when he joined the ninja— and he has the worst memory —caused by his seasons worth of trauma— so the moment he remembered, he pulled you to the side and apologized for wishing you so late (that being towards midday) and not getting you a gift (that is a LIE. he hoards so much that he definitely has a gift to give, no matter the occasion.)
#✧ teams up with nya to protect you from kai and cole because it's his revenge for last year (september is his hell, because of his birthday), though it is after he finds an acceptable gift to give you. he figures one of his trillion handmade bracelets (a coping mechanism) can work so he finds a little box and wrapping paper in someone's room and stuffs the paper in the box and puts the bracelet on it and asks nya to keep it with her.
#✧ is the most little shit ever, helping you prank the hell out of kai, cole and occasionally jay back. from dropping water on them to scaring the hell out of them and all the stops. at some point, he drags you and nya to play video games while they get reprimanded by wu. (being wu's gets him out of a trouble.)
  ୧ ⎯⎯ PIXAL
#✧ girl showed up a little earlier than the time of the party with a whole ass basket of snacks and foods she thought you'd like. hands it to you and when you return from hiding it from lloyd, she drags you out and takes you out on her samurai x mech for a bit, flying around the city with you in the mech's hands, nya tagged along on the mech's back.
#✧ she big sister's you so sweetly, talking about all of the random shit with nya. it's honestly a cute experience, and really homely and nostalgic of back when you were with your friends as a kid and before you became a ninja.
#✧ takes you to above ninjago city, on the top of borg tower and then to the quieter streets by the port where they took you out to eat at some stall (like an all girl thing.)
  ୧ ⎯⎯ WU
#✧ his gift was literally just no training– but in all seriousness, he had a small something to gift to you. he usually gifts the same thing to everyone, but it is personalized to each person. and no one still knows what he's gifted them, so, it's a mystery. (lloyd is praying it's not some clue to the next conflict.)
#✧ he's laughing with zane as he watches his students annoying you, at some point he playfully reprimands them before letting them go to set up the party after pixal and nya take you out for a while, helping them sort the banner pixal brought with her for the party that read “happy birthday [name]!”.
#✧ he's watching over them with his brother and sister-in-law beside him as the boys mess around and set up the little party.
  ୧ ⎯⎯ GARMADON
[ for plot purposes, he's sensei g. not lord nor emperor g. ]
#✧ man is having a ball while watching the boys annoy you, he dropped in once (multiple times) to casually slide in some embarrassing comment and single-handed wiping everyone out by turning them red. he's here for a fun time and apparently a long one too. but he's a sweet old guy who just showing affection for his uh- nth child.
#✧ garmadon, being the dad he is, most likely got you something silly that you and him have an inside joke on (he has atleast one inside joke with all the ninja and pixal). he had gotten it a long while before your birthday, that or he got his hands on something that you were dying to get but either it sold out or was no longer being made.
#✧ when he wished you, he probably pulled you into a hug that dad's give (safe and comforting, warm and protective, all at once) and tells you how proud he is of you, that you're still around and breathing, pushing on and how much he loves and cares for you.
Tumblr media
the wind felt nice; despite the night breeze being so cold, it felt good against your skin as you sat securely in the samurai x mech's hands, listening to pixal and nya ramble as the nindroid flew you three in back to the monastery. the lights were dim in the courtyard and the only light was from inside, not to mention it was quiet– too quiet...
“guys– it's too quiet,” you mumble back to the ladies wking beside you, stopping as you pull the water ninja's sleeve to get their attention. nya shoots you a firm look, noting it herself while pixal looks around before looking at you.
she shakes her head slowly, “my scanners say there is no danger.”
reluctantly you nod, but trusting in her eyes and judgment. they both continue walking in, nya taking your hand in hers gently and tugging you along softly as she smiles warmly with comforting eyes. “there's nothing to worry about, don't worry, okay?”
“..okay.”
you walk in beside nya, tensing the moment someone covers you eyes and everywhere darkens for a moment before the light returns and pixal's squeezing your shoulders lightly.
“surprise!” they all say as everyone beams at you. there's curly ribbons in your colours (your gi and favourite colours mixed in them), the banner looks beautiful, there's little presents in different boxes behind the small cake. you swear you're about to cry when you realise that hey, this is for you.
it's been hell, and no one's actually celebrated their birthday for a hell of a long time before the conflict and missions you held as the ninja; ninjago's protectors. you say quiet for a moment to properly register it, the fact you're alive and loved. it a sweet feeling, giddy.
“thanks guys,” you say after a while, hugging pixal, who's hugging you from behind, back with an appreciation tone and smile. “thank you guys so much.”
“c'mon, kai, light the candles; we have one more embarrassing thing to do. and there's sing happy birthday,” jay laughs pulling you over to the cake, with a comforting smile, as he sits you down in front of it.
oh fuck. you're screwed now.
Tumblr media
  ୧ ⎯⎯ MORRO WU
[ for plot purposes, this is in the past before morro died. he fleed the monastery and found another elemental master and you two stuck together, meaning he's alive to atleast see his teenage to adulthood years, depends on your age. you're the same age ]
#✧ morro is probably the only one who doesn't get you a gift, but he wishes you surprisingly heartfelt. it's the one time he hugs you and says something soft and sweet– the complete opposite of him normally.
#✧ your birthday is the one day that he and you goof off on. you're jumping into a lake together and play fighting together, stealing sweets and some food and he's sneakily taken a cupcake and candle to celebrate you a little bit. he probably steals a necklace or bracelet he thinks you might like and gifts you it.
#✧ overall, it's really sweet the way he worries for you and actually celebrates your birthday, taking out his time to give you something worth remembering unlike the other days and his own birthday (one of which he refuses to celebrate, and you respect his wish despite being who started the birthday cupcake tradition and upholding it every year.)
Tumblr media
୧ ⎯⎯ NOTES ;; morro unfortunately gets no drabble– i wrote too much already. this was the first time i wrote for anyone but lloyd and morro's part is my favourite!

The Story of Solah Shringar
Tumblr media
The Indian bride is the epitome of grace, elegance, and beauty. Her attire and traditional Indian bridal jewelry catch every eye and leave a lasting impression on everyone. While her wedding outfit accentuates her best features, her Indian bridal jewelry adds a subtle shine and a touch of sophistication to her entire look.
As per tradition, the Indian bride embellishes herself with 16 adornments on her wedding day. These adornments are called Solah Shringar. This ritual has been practiced since ancient times and is an integral part of bridal preparations.
The story behind the Solah Shringar features Rati, the wife of Kamdev, the Hindu god of love. Rati engaged in severe penance to appease Goddess Lakshmi. She was then blessed with the 16 adornments from Lakshmi and wore them to impress and marry Kamdev.
Tumblr media
16 adornments (16 sringar)are
1. Sindoor
The first adornment is Sindoor, also known as kumkum or vermillion. Sindoor holds a special place as it marks the beginning of a woman’s new journey as a bride. Sindoor is applied by the groom on the forehead between the hair partition of the bride. The bride then continues to wear sindoor throughout her married life.
2. Hair care (Kesh Sringar):
We now focus on the ‘Kesh’, or hair. The Indian bride embellishes her hair using fragrant flowers and glittering headpieces. Traditionally, the bride made three braids that represented three holy rivers, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, and the trinity of the Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. The fragrance of flowers keeps the bride fresh throughout the day and her Indian bridal jewelry embellishes her hairdo, adding another layer of elegance and beauty to her overall look.
3. Maangtika
The part of the forehead where the maangtika rests is believed to be the home of Ajna Chakra or the third eye. When the bride wears the piece of Indian bridal jewelry on her special day, she is believed to be connected with her third eye and has the ability to control her emotions and activate her knowledge, wisdom, courage, and willpower.
4. Bindi
The bindi also takes us to the third eye. Bindi comes from the Sanskrit word bindu, which means ‘point’ or ‘dot’. The bindi is closely associated with improving concentration and retaining energy. It is one of the most popular adornments worn by the Indian bride and is known internationally.
Tumblr media
5.Kohl or Kajal
From the forehead, we move to the eyes. Kohl, kajal, surma, kanmashi, kaadige, kaatuka, and kan mai are some names for one of the oldest natural beauty products in the world. Kajal accentuates the eyes of the bride and is believed to ward off the evil eye in various cultures. The darkening around the eyes also protects the wearer from the harsh rays of the sun.
Kajal is an essential element of the solah shringar and makes the eyes look more prominent. It is undoubtedly a beautiful way to enhance the natural beauty of the bride.
6 .Karn Phool or Earrings
A wedding day look cannot be completed without a set of dangling earrings. Karn Phool is a Sanskrit term that translates to ‘flower of the ears’ and is an essential part of the solah shringar.
7 .Nath(nose ring)
The nose ring is another beautiful element of the Indian bride’s attire and is a symbol of valor, fertility, and spirituality. The large nose rings hooked onto the hair with a chain take the bride a step closer to creating her ideal look. It is one of the most ethnic elements of Indian bridal jewelry and a wedding day look is surely incomplete without it.
8 .Haar or Necklace
The one thing that brings the whole look together is the necklace. Necklaces are said to represent safety and abundance and are believed to help the wearer control their emotions better. Some necklaces feature specific motifs or gemstones that are believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits.
Tumblr media
9 .Bajuband
This element of traditional Indian bridal jewelry is worn on the upper arm. The bajuband is believed to keep evil spirits away and protects the wearer. The Indian bride can embellish her wedding outfit with all sorts of armbands that are encrusted with diamonds and other colorful gemstones.
10 .Bangles, Bracelets, Choodiyan
Bangles and the Indian bride are inseparable. They’re a part of traditional Indian bridal jewelry that a woman always wears. It is believed that bangles and bracelets bring health, luck, and prosperity to the wearer and are more than a jewelry item or accessory for the traditional Indian woman. There are various wedding ceremonies related to bangles and bracelets across cultures that show us their significance in Indian culture.
11 .Hathphool and Aarsi
The hathphool is a clever mix of a bangle and a ring. Bringing the best of both together, this element of traditional Indian bridal jewelry embellishes the hand and wrist of the bride. The interesting crossover of the two pieces surely adds more flavor to the wedding day look.
A thumb ring known as Aarsi is also worn by some brides. Aarsi contains a small mirror. This mirror allows the bride to catch a glimpse of the groom since she is covered in a veil and cannot see the groom’s face.
12 . Mehndi
Henna, commonly known as mehndi, is undoubtedly one of the most amusing parts of a traditional Indian wedding. It is believed that mehndi brings good luck and joy to the bride. The darkness of the mehndi represents the strength of the bond between the bride and the groom. The solah shringar of the bride is incomplete without her hands and feet embellished with beautiful mehndi designs that add to her overall wedding day look.
Tumblr media
13 . Kamarband (waist band)
The use of the kamarband, or waistband, is scarce in North Indian weddings but it is an important part of a South Indian bride’s trousseau. The piece of Indian bridal jewelry is adorned with gemstones and is used to accentuate the female’s body and keep her bridal saree in place.
14 . Anklets and Toe Rings
Commonly known as payal and bichhu, these elements of traditional Indian bridal jewelry embellish the feet of the bride. Payals can be recognized by the beautiful chime sounds they make whenever the bride walks. Toe rings are seen as a sign of marriage and a bride wears them until the death of her husband.
15 . Itar
Itar is the perfume that a bride applies to freshen her aura and stay fragrant throughout her special day.
16. Wedding Outfit
Finally, the one thing that clubs every element together and brings the bride’s imagination to life is the wedding outfit. The traditional Indian bride wore the classic red wedding outfit but with the evolution of Indian weddings, other colors have started to take center stage as well.

Re-introducing Nahji! She's a Hearts for Hearts girl who comes from Assam, India.
I've had Nahji since 2019, but she was a thrift store rescue so I had nothing at all from her original outfit. Even her little nose stud had been pulled off. Her eyes had gone purple, so I had to replace them too. Looking at my other H4H dolls, one of my favorite things about them are their tiny details, like all the pretty jewelry Nahji wears. Just check out all of that bling.... a pearl headband, blue crystal drop earrings, a necklace, and gold bangle bracelets. All H4H dolls come with some kind of jewelry, but Nahji has the most. I also got her story booklet, and it's a good one.
Nahji is ten years old and is not hopeful about her future. Most girls her age earn a living doing hard labor for little money, like harvesting tea or cleaning houses. Many of them get married very young, like Nahji's mother, who married at age 13, and cannot read or write. So Nahji persuades her mother to let her get an education at the local school. Once Nahji learns to read and write, she reads about ways her family can be self-sufficient. She and her mother and sister start to grow vegetables and they raise Indian runner ducks, who lay eggs that can also be sold. Eventually, Nahji's sister Sutra quits her job cleaning houses in order to help sell vegetables and eggs, and their mother is able to stop harvesting tea leaves. Nahji and Sutra talk to other girls their ages who might feel hopeless, and share what they've learned in their journey to change their lives.

IN MY HC JUDE DUARTE, TARYN DUARTE AND VIVI DUARTE ARE HALF DESI.
(And jude and taryn are half latinas)
LET ME COOK, the oficial art we have of jude shows us that she is a dark skinned girl, and the most common fancast for her is a brazillian actress, the scenes are taken from a soup opera that made hude success here.
As a brazillian i am taking this as a opportunity.
It was hcs in general but it grew up to something more, no complains!!
I kinda wanna do a pt2 on the revel..
I imagine the girls childhood, living is a nice neighborhood on the suburbs but going out every weekend to smaller neighborhoods filled with people from their culture.
Eating white people food sometimes to blend out but loving indian and latin food, especially brazillian food: they ate Samosa, curry, the brazillian barbecue, naan, feijoada etc....
The books mentions them eating other asian foods as well, they do that to stay as close to culture as they can.
One of the memories from home they could never forget was when they went all out as a family to enjoy their culture, whether it was a huge birthday party, or a even bigger indian wedding where they would dress in tradicional clothing and wear minor jewelry, or even a simple brazillian barbecue with friends where they would feel the thing all br kids feel while they wait by the pool for their parents to stop dancing and tk put them food, a plate of Rice, and meat with farofa temperada and vinagrete, ofc with a cup of guaraná.
They loved the languages, mostly mixing them up while talking fast so their parents would not understand what they were trying to say to one another, they still do that in faeryland. They loved understanding the music as well.
Abou the music, i picture them having so much fun dancing to the music at parties, learning coreographies or just spinning around to the songs.
I can perfectly see taryn sleeping in a chair late at night at a party (they grew up with noise, developing the ability to sleep anywere was a must) while jude and vivi tired themselfs out with a group of kids or older people learning the dancings and the meaning Behind them.
Carimbó was very common, they loved spinning around with their huge skirts full of colours, moving their bodies with the rithim
The books show us jude snapping and trying to rebel to somethings, i can see her pulling the seamstress aside to request her a bunch of lehengas with the other dresses, a Red one with Gold details, a Black one with Silver details, a water green one, a orange one etc... not even taryn knew about it, it was her secret small rebellion, they didnt take her for one them? Well she didnt either, she was human, a hot blooded human, and she was going to show them that
And after thinking about it for a sec she even asked for some more jewelry to madoc, indian jewelry, he gave her Gold and she went with vivi to the mortal world to buy them, vivi loved it, every second of it.
They came back with tons of jewelry and jude even got her nose pierced, it had the tiniest little Stone that she used to keep the perfuration from closing up, it was easy to cover up until the day of the revel
And she was especially exited when the day finally came
She had the complete package, the red lehenga that complemented her skin, a maangtika she wore with her hair down, for the first time in years, a nath on her nose, jhumkas in her ears, a haath phool in her hands, she even went to the human world to do some henna, she had never been more human in years, and she wasnt hating it.
She went down the stairs of her house feeling great, and the feeling grew at the compliments her family gave her, taryn was a bit on the jealous side but madoc told her not to complain, jude had the idea and made it come true, even after giving up one of the fabrics to make her happy.
Even vivi decided to go this once, she loved little acts of rebellion
Oriana was satisfied to see jude being less... the usual, for once, and even made a small talk about the outfit, jewelry and the meaning.
But a question Vivi ansewered herself:
"Oh, about the nose ring? Some women wore them as a symbol of marital status, but it has various meanings, womanhood, elegance, a sense of rebellion..."
She smiled to jude, eyes glowing as she smiled back
It was going to be fun, and jude couldnt wait for her blood to heat up again.

What a Difference a Dey Makes.
Tumblr media
Helen Lisa O’Day had long suspected her husband Robert of dressing up in her clothes when she was away from home going to her job as a state wide substitute teacher, other than the pitting out of them sometimes she didn’t mind. She supposed it made him happy that was fine with her. She just wished he felt comfortable enough with himself to tell her.
Helen, however, figured that after she had gone to the remarkable shop owned by three women from India who sold clothing that somehow turned their western clients into Indian women.
So after taking their month-long `give it a try’ challenge Helen Lisa O’Day, a substitute teacher born in Salem, Massachusetts found herself changed into someone who could now only think of herself as Heera Leesha O’day of Salem, Tamil Nadu State, India, that it was the end of Robert’s cross-dressing, at least with her clothes.
Remarkably excepting of her fantastic transformation (helped by an embroidered pillow cover the sisters sold that "helps those not changed to accept those who have. ")  Robert was, however,  continuously going on about “how do you deal with all that...wrapping?” he would say, “you just have to practice,” Heera would reply.
Then Heera Leesha found a new occupation working for You Are What You Ware as a Precious metal jewelry designer making the type of gold and silver jewelry the newly minted Bhārata women coming out of the five shops now owned by the Sharma sisters seemed to all love.
Tumblr media
Her new job took her away from home even more now, just as it had for the last week with her returning late on a Friday; she did not think she would have to worry about any of her new clothing being pitted out due to Roberts's intimidation of “all that wrapping and draping.”
“Hello dear, I’m back,” said Heera, sure to use English as Robert spoke not a word of the Tamil she now spoke fluently, as well as her old English, though now flavored with a pronounced Tamil accent.
“Vaṇakkam” (hello) “Nāṉ oppukkoḷḷa vēṇṭum” (I have to confess) said a high-pitched woman’s voice in Tamil. That was when a petite young woman wearing one of her dresses presented herself. A woman whose face still bore a semblance to her husband Robert., if that is, he had been a woman born much further East than his original New Jersey.
“I can guess what that confession is,” said Heera thinking that at least now Robert would not be pitting out her new dresses; her new clothing had shrunk him to fit them.
Tumblr media
A month later, Robert, on he and Heera finding that no, there was no going back, was set up as the new Rohana Dey. Heera even gifted the new woman with a striking gold and ruby nath nose ring to say well, here we are now.
The expectation was that Rohana would go to You Are What You Wear to be fully outfitted for her new self.
Instead, she surprised Heera by going to her old tailor she had used when she had been Robert.
There she got five new suits made to fit her new form. “I am a computer programmer,” she said, “and this is how I dress when I’m working; the other things are just for fun.”
Rohana Dey, however, wore her nath when suited up. “it works for me,” she said.

What are your thoughts on Rainbow High series 4?
Series 4! Let’s goooo!
Lila Yamamoto!
She’s super cute! I like the traditional mixed with the edge she’s got going on. I like the hint of Decora Kei with the stickers on her face, the band aid on her nose, and the gibbits on her shoes.
What I do not like. Is the implication that her shoes are Heeled. Platform. Crocks. (I have a joking hate for them as a shoe widhdkssks)
I love her kimono shirt, the super high belt and the leather looking zip skirt with all the studs. I also love the flower chain and the fingerless gloves she’s wearing. I love her complicated her hairstyle looks and I love the ribbons.
Her more traditional outfit is super cute too. I love the massive bow on her Obi, I love her shirt and her skirt (see RH can sometimes do see through well) and I love her wooden Sandals sooo much-
Love her she’s great.
Coco Vanderbalt
Girl…girl what. Girl why.
Her undershirt might be alright and her skirt is pretty good, I like it. But what is that top. What is it. I don’t love her shoes either.
Had second outfit is definitely better. That jacket slays and covers the top part of her dress. I hate the top part of this dress. Why the fuck are her socks netting. Her shoes…are there.
Earrings, sunglasses and hair all slay but. It can’t save those fits, I’m so sorry.
JEWEL RICHIE: QUEEN OF SERVING CUNT!
A BITCH. A QUEEN. A BOSS. That sequin drsss with the side cutouts, the jade accessories, the BABY HAIRS AND THE STRAPPY SHOES AND BABY HAIRRRZSSSS AND THE FUCKIN STOLE OH MY-
Outfit two is just as slay but much more casual. Simple heels, snake skin skirt and a leather top. The star of the show is that FUR LINED GOLD STUDDED JACKET I JUST-
All this has been neglecting to mention the VITILIGO OUT LOUD AND PROUD SHES SO PRETTYYYY
Delilah Fields!
Very cute. I love her hair and the clips, love her glasses (as a fellow blind bitch), love her white lashes and freckles and the gray eyes.
Love her dress-the top almost looks like boiler suit but the bottom is all lace lined and pretty. I love the pretty chunky, short heel boots and the socks peaking out.
I really like her second outfit too, her shoes especially. I love how simple the top is and then down her jeans the flowers trail down until her shoes look covered in them.
I also only noticed her bracelet with this outfit, it’s cute I like it!
Meena Fluer!
I adore her jewelry and her Henna hands.
The top and shoes are good. The top is great actually-I love the faux sauri thing at the back, I love the thread wraps on her pants, but the color of her pants is. A thing I don’t love. They’re too close to a green-yellow rather than just yellow imo.
I love her second outfit, it looks like traditional Indian women’s wear which I know was the intent, but far as I can tell they really nailed it. Her sandals look a lil weird from the front but I like em too much to mind.
Mila Barrymore
She’s. Doing things. A lot of them at once.
There’s the leather dress with the flounce at the bottom, which I hate at this dress length. Honestly I rarely ever like it at all.
Her different fishnets are competing with each other, her shoes are like a cherry on top of a lopsided cake cuz they’re also weird. I think it’s the color?
Her second outfit…looks super flat but also not??? It looks like a print on a dress rather then being the dress ya know? It also looks super stiff? Like if you tried to touch it, it’d just stay in place. Her boots are alright but the texture might be adding to the dress weirdness.

Art by @hithren, @palitaniaart, and @heroicn0nsense.
TL;DR: Vy’thanis Lusignon is a dark-skinned Duskwight Elezen with blue highlights in his collar-length black hair. He normally wears his hair half pulled-back. His eyes are teal. Gnarled scars about two inches wide form bands around both wrists. He is very friendly and often smiling.
Face Claim:
Tumblr media
Hair Color and Style: Vyth has black, slightly wavy hair that falls to his collar bone. The faint wave in it is natural and requires very little styling. He usually just combs it and lets it hang loose, though lately he gathers it back into a short, stubby ponytail or bun. Texturally, his hair is soft but not silken, owing to a general lack of fancy hair oils or conditioners. Said dark hair can also be found on his face in the form of a neatly trimmed goatee that frames his lips and chin. If left alone, he can grow a more robust full beard, but he tends to prefer the tidier lines of his goatee (lines he has to shave in every few days to stay neat). A light amount of hair is also present on his forearms, chest, happy trail, and legs.
Face: Vy'thanis has a heart-shaped face with a pointed chin that is only emphasized by his dark goatee and a noticeable widow’s peak in his black hair. His cheekbones are not very sharp, but his jaw is quite angular. His nose is long and slightly aquiline (appearing just a little bent in the bridge), though a little narrow for his face. His ears are a little high-set, long, and pointy; they stick straight out from the sides of his head, though they are very mobile and expressive when he’s showing emotion.
Skin Tone: Though he is a Duskwight, he could pass for one of his lighter skinned cousins simply because his rich brown skin doesn’t have the grey cast of his own people. Trying to leave food comparisons aside, his skin is more of a walnut wood color. In the real world, he might be Middle Eastern or Indian. Of particular note, he has a two inch wide band of scarring around each wrist.
Body Type/Build: He is tall and broad-shouldered with a torso that leads to a slim waistline. His arms are relatively beefy from swinging a pickaxe on the regular, but he’s otherwise just fit and trim.
Clothing Style: Vyth prefers interesting prints and colors in his clothing. He does favor blues, purples, and greens. There’s often some element of unique embroidery or fascinating beading on his clothes. He tends towards slim pants and a looser tunic-style top; think salwar kameez.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jewelry: While Vyth is a gemcutter by trade, he doesn’t actually wear a lot of jewelry himself. Sometimes he wears several silver rings on his fingers or a simple crystal pendant, but he never, ever wears anything around his wrists.
Demeanor: Vyth is a very cheery character, prone to making friends everywhere he goes. A sadness haunts him that he covers with warm smiles and open arms. He tends towards Chaotic Good with a heavy element of “my rules, my way.” He loves to travel and goes all over Eorzea and beyond for the jewels he uses in his gemcutting.

ONE PIECE ORNAMENT
One of the most fashionable ways to upgrade your aesthetics is through nose piercing. Whether you choose to go with a statement septum ring or a more subtle nostril stud, nose piercing can upgrade your overall look! It is always the only jewel worn on our face as nose is the most prominent feature of our face, and just adding a little sparkly stud or ring and gives a entire attitude and look. It is an ancient style of piercing, dating back to approximately four thousand years ago, and it has continued to grow in popularity over the last few years in mainstream society.
I often admired the lovely sparkle I saw in the side of the nose of every women it always adds on beauty and elegance. North Indian women usually have their piercings on the left , and South Indian women in their right. Which is associated with lessening of pain from childbirth and menstruation on left side , whereas in right is helps to better mental health and mind peace.
Tumblr media
The main types of jewelry worn on the nose are stud and hoops .My most popular form of stud is the screw shaped end - it is definitely the biggest seller. The tradition behind every community of people wearing nose ring during there puberty , in some during the age of 8 , in some during the period of marriage . It is said that every girl should pierce there nose before they are getting married and it is been followed as tradition in some communities.
This nose piercing have been a part of south Asian culture for thousands of years. Culturally, the piercings signified the social status of the individual and their right to access other ceremonies. Having a pierced nose has been a sacred ceremony in the Hindu religion. The tradition of wearing nose rings has been based on certain principles present in the Indian culture.
Tumblr media
Why not men!? Nose rings have become a fashion statement . From a traditional custom to a fashion statement it is a huge path of the nose ring . Nowadays men also wear nose rings , studs or a septum ring which gives them the best fashion icon and also attracts others .
Tumblr media
This photograph was inspired from the ancient history community called as chola dynasty. There was a epic story written by kalki krishnamurthy. The story name is 'Ponniyin Selvan '. The women in the story have a strong character and attitude. These jewellery add on to there behaviour and character. Starting from nandini , kundavai and many more ladies have their own fashion statement in the story . This photograph was inspired from puguzhali a boat sailing girl who's character was strong and vivid compared to other girls. She was physically strong and her nose ring adds a little bit of attitude and courageous attitude.

parents: ankita rao & dad, unknown.
siblings:  none.
physical + appearance.
height:  5′6″.
weight:  60 kgs | 132 lbs.
distinguishing features:  scar on / over her left eyebrow; scar, a few cm on the right from her bellybutton.
hair color:  black.
eye color: dark brown.
what do they consider their best feature?: it’s a toss up between her hands and her smile.
style of dress/typical outfit(s):  because her body isn’t good at regulating it’s own temperature, udyati often wears layers and hoodies. a lot of dip dye colors. she also likes quotes and such on her shirts, galaxy themed clothes and alien iconography.
jewelry? tattoos? piercings?: two earrings; one on each ear, one nose ring and two regular rings, capable of turning into different indian weaponry and back. some days she wears only one necklace; other times, it’s multiple and sometimes she wears none.
do they work out/exercise?:  yes, udyati has been trained in the art of kalari and she keeps up with it as much and as often as she can.
belief +  intellect.
level of self esteem:  in terms of school based intelligence and being book smart, her self esteem is lower than you’d think. when it comes to her knowledge of the preternatural, physicality and kalari, however, her self esteem is pretty high. generally, it used to be lower than it is in regards of her being kalindi’s puppet for years, but it’s steadily growing, day by day
known languages: hindi, english, dutch and bhūtabhāṣa, the language of the dead, which is spoken in and around the jyotisha system. she’s also been trying to teach herself dutch sign language.
gifts/talents: she can carry a tune but doesn’t sing in front of people, just in the shower. she’s done theatre and spoken word. she writes. udyati would say that she’s also good at throwing knives and kalari, though she’s been trained in those areas. also, she likes to think that listening to people and their stories is also a talent she has.
how do they deal with stress?  exercise, talking to her friends, talking a walk, writing, watching shows or movies, sleeping.
what do they do when upset?  see the above.
believe in happy endings:  yes. although there is a caveat and that is that 1) she herself probably won’t get one and 2) often, you have to fight for yours.
how do they feel about asking for help?  depends on why she’s asking help or for what. generally, she can do it. only when it comes to school work will she be a little more stubborn (than usual).
optimist or pessimist:  optimist.
extrovert or introvert:  ambivert.
leader or follower:  follower though will lead if absolutely necessary.
makes decisions based mostly on emotions, or on logic?: emotions.
spontaneous or planner: both, it depends on the context and what’s happening.
thinker or doer: both, definitely, though she leans towards being a doer.
organized or messy: organized.
worrier or carefree:  worrier.
artistic?: she does not draw herself but she does enjoy art and art galleries and museums.
mathematical?:  no. not at all. udyati has dyscalculia. she is the complete opposite of mathematical. she envies the people who are and is also in awe of them.
sex + intimacy.
current marital/relationship/sexual status:  single ( rp dependent ).
sexual orientation (is it something they question or a secret):  pansexual, she doesn’t question it, nor is it a secret. she came out to her mom after she took her to a queer poetry read during pride month.
views on sex (one night stands, promiscuity, etc):  so long as both parties are of age and consenting and so long as there is open and honest communication and it makes them feel good, then that’s okay and it’s nobody’s business but theirs. she can’t stand people who judge other people for sleeping with a lot of people or judging people for doing the complete opposite. udyati herself has gone a lot further in rps (though this is rp dependent/verse dependent) than she has in the book but generally, she sees sex as something positive.
ever been in love?:  yes.
do they fall in love easily?:  yes.
do they desire marriage and/or children in their future? udyati can’t really see herself get married or get kids. she’s essentially immortal. whether her aging is slowed or has stopped completely is yet to be determined but it’s pretty obvious she’s going to outlive everyone she ever loved. it grieves her, sometimes.
thoughts on public displays of affection?:  she likes it though will become flustered. despite this, she will reciprocate.
how do they show affection/love to their partner?:  words of affirmation and giving gifts.
relationships.
social habits (popular, loner, some close friends, makes friends and then quickly drops them):  udyati has close friends, but that’s about it. she was never popular. she never wanted to be as in her eyes, she’d need a lot of energy she didn’t have to maintain that.
how do they treat others (politely, rudely, keep at distance, etc)?:  politely. her mom would have her head if she didn’t.
argue or avoid conflict?:  udyati used to avoid conflicts and nowadays tries to talk them out but every so often, if it’s something she’s truly passionate about, she’ll argue.
secrets.
dreams: she wants her mom to be happy and healthy. she wants her friends to be happy and healthy. she wants to graduate and get her diploma and degree. she wants to find balance between the human aspects of her life and the alien aspects of her life. but what she wants most is the one thing she probably can’t have: to make up for all the hurt and pain and death she caused while she was kalindi’s puppet.
greatest fears:  never being forgiven for what she did while she was kalindi’s puppet; losing her loved ones (due to old age and death or otherwise); ending up entirely alone in a great big multiverse.
biggest regret:  allowing herself to become kalindi’s puppet. this is not at all what happened, but this is how she has spun it within her own mind: if she’d been stronger, better, somehow, then none of that would have happened.
what he/she/they most wants to change about his/her/their current life?:  udyati wants to find balance between the human and alien aspects of her life.
likes + dislikes.
hobbies: reading, writing, training, sleeping, watching shows and movies, listening to music, hanging out with her friends.
indoors or outdoors?: both.
favorite color: sunset orange.
favorite smell:  petrichor.
favorite and least favorite food: sweet food is her favorite food. bitter food is her least favorite food.
coffee or tea?: both.
favorite type of weather:  sunny. udyati is a summer person. she does not do well with colder weather at all.
favorite form of entertainment:  at the moment, it’s audiobooks and music.
how do they feel about traveling?: he’s not a big fan, mostly because he’s usually travelling alone for work and it’s usually by car. while he does enjoy exploring new places and new cities, he would find it more enjoyable if he had someone to share in the adventure.
what sort of gifts do they like? things she can use, like knives or books. but she would also cherish getting concert tickets because it means she and the gift giver are going to do something together and that’s very fun.
drugs + alcohol.
thoughts on drugs and alcohol:  udyati doesn’t do drugs but she does occasionally like to partake in drinking. but only the sweet stuff. and only up to, like, two glasses. three, max. she prefers to keep a clear head. just in case.
do they smoke? If so, do they want to quit?  udyati does not smoke because xiomara has three quarters of a lung and asthma. aside from that, xiomara has just stopped her asthma medication after twenty years. so she wants to make that transition as easy on her best friend as she can.
have they ever tried other drugs (which, what happened, consequences):  no.
do they have any addictions?:  not that she knows of.
other details.
most important/defining event in life to date: being turned into kalindi’s puppet and breaking free from that. getting together with daisuke in book canon.
daily routine:  wake up, get ready, go to school, go home, do assignments, hang out with her friends, lather, rinse, repeat. though, she gets called away for off planet duties a lot afterwards so she mostly does her assignment in the evening / in the night. and, no, udyati does not get enough sleep. not nearly enough.
typical saturday night:  if she’s not catching up on assignments, or off planet, she’s hanging out with her mom, or with her friends. she tries to make as much time for both of them as she can. when she’s with her friends, they go to downtown katendam and just hang out at the skate park. sometimes they go to the movies. sometimes they sit on the sidewalk and watch people.
what is home like (messy, neat, sparse):  small and neat. but not too neat. it’s a house that’s lived in. a houe that’s loved. or so udyati keeps insisting.
pets?: if not, do they want any?:  udyati would love a pet but her mom is very allergic so no pets for her.
can they hold their breath for a long time?:  she can hold her breath for a regular amount of time.
do they know how to swim?  yeah. udyati loves being in the water. it’s a miracle she hasn’t grown gills yet.
can they cook (if so, how well and do they enjoy it)?: yes, she’s taught herself and she’s good at it. she likes it well enough but she’d just as easily get take out if her mom works late.

<h1>A Tapestry of Tradition: The Maharashrian Bride's Saree</h1>
A Tapestry of Tradition: The Maharashrian Bride's Saree
The grandeur of an Indian wedding is unparalleled, each ceremony a symphony of vibrant colors, rich traditions, and exquisite attire. In Maharashtra, the heart of Western India, the bride takes center stage adorned in a saree that epitomizes elegance, tradition, and a touch of modern flair. This article delves into the world of the Maharashrian bride's saree, exploring its historical significance, intricate designs, vibrant colors, and the unique elements that make it a symbol of cultural pride.
A Heritage Woven in Silk
The Maharashrian bride's saree, traditionally known as the 'Nauvari Saree', is a testament to the state's rich cultural heritage. Its origins can be traced back to the Maratha Empire, where the saree was a functional and elegant attire for women. The word "Nauvari" signifies its unique draping style - nine yards of fabric elegantly crafted into a graceful ensemble. The fabric of choice, often silk or cotton, exudes a sense of opulence and refinement.
The Art of Draping: A Distinctive Style
The draping style of the Nauvari Saree is one of its most distinctive features, setting it apart from other Indian saree styles. The saree is draped around the waist, creating a tight, almost pant-like effect in the front. The pallu (unstitched end) is then intricately draped over the left shoulder, leaving the right shoulder bare. This unique style is believed to have evolved from the practical needs of Maratha women, allowing for ease of movement and freedom while engaging in various activities, from horseback riding to performing household chores.
A Symphony of Colors: The Spectrum of Tradition
Maharashtrian weddings are a riot of vibrant hues, and the bride's saree plays a key role in this colorful spectacle. While traditional colors like maroon, red, and green are favored, contemporary brides are embracing a wider spectrum of shades, from royal blue and emerald to deep purple and fuchsia. These colors symbolize auspiciousness, prosperity, and good fortune for the newlywed couple.
Embellishments and Motifs: Tales Woven in Thread
The Maharashrian bride's saree is adorned with exquisite embellishments and motifs that add a touch of grandeur and tell stories of tradition. These include:
Paithani Saree: Arguably the most famous of Maharashrian sarees, the Paithani is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, renowned for its intricate, handwoven designs in rich silk. These designs often depict peacocks, parrots, flowers, and geometric patterns, all executed with meticulous precision.
Chanderi Saree: Known for its delicate, lightweight fabric, the Chanderi saree is characterized by its subtle sheen and intricate woven patterns. It often features floral motifs, paisley designs, and geometric patterns.
Kanjeevaram Saree: While not strictly Maharashrian, the Kanjeevaram saree, with its rich silk and intricate gold thread embroidery, has become a popular choice for brides looking for an opulent and traditional look. It often features temple motifs, floral patterns, and auspicious symbols.
The Bridal Ensemble: Accessories and Ornaments
The Maharashrian bride's saree is not just an attire, it's a complete ensemble that includes accessories and ornaments that amplify her beauty and celebrate her special day. These include:
Jewelry: From the ornate gold nose ring (nath) to the heavy necklaces, the bride's jewelry is a testament to the craftsmanship and artistry of the region. Traditional pieces include the 'chandrakor' (a crescent moon pendant), 'tulsi mala' (necklace made of holy basil beads), and 'bajuband' (armlets).
Mangalsutra: This sacred necklace, signifying a woman's married status, is a vital part of the Maharashrian bride's ensemble. It is typically made of black beads and gold, symbolizing the divine union and enduring bond between husband and wife.
Headgear: The bride's hair is typically styled in an elaborate bun adorned with flowers and a 'gajra' (floral garland). The 'nath' and the 'choda' (a hair ornament) add a touch of regality to the ensemble.
Make-up: Traditional Maharashrian bridal makeup is characterized by its subtlety. The bride's eyes are lined with kohl, her lips are painted with a rich red, and her cheeks are adorned with a touch of rouge.
A Modern Twist: The Evolution of the Maharashrian Bride's Saree
While tradition holds a strong sway in Maharashrian weddings, brides are embracing a touch of modernity in their choice of sarees. The classic Nauvari style is often paired with contemporary fabrics like georgette, chiffon, and velvet, adding a dash of glamour and elegance to the ensemble. Experimentation with colors, embellishments, and embroidery is also prevalent, allowing brides to personalize their look while respecting the traditions of their heritage.
FAQs: The Maharashrian Bride's Saree
Q1: What makes the Maharashrian bride's saree unique?
The Maharashrian bride's saree, known as the Nauvari Saree, is unique for its distinctive draping style - a nine-yard saree draped to create a tight, almost pant-like effect in the front, with the pallu draped over the left shoulder. This unique draping style, combined with the vibrant colors, intricate embellishments, and traditional jewelry, makes the Nauvari Saree an iconic symbol of Maharashrian bridal attire.
Q2: What are the different types of sarees popular for Maharashrian brides?
Popular saree choices for Maharashrian brides include:
Paithani Saree: Known for its intricate handwoven designs and rich silk.
Chanderi Saree: Delicate, lightweight fabric with subtle sheen and woven patterns.
Kanjeevaram Saree: Rich silk and intricate gold thread embroidery, often featuring temple motifs and floral patterns.
Q3: Is the Maharashrian bride's saree strictly traditional?
While traditional elements are important, modern brides are embracing a touch of modernity in their saree choices. They are experimenting with contemporary fabrics, colors, and embellishments to personalize their look while respecting the traditions of their heritage.
Q4: What are some of the essential accessories for a Maharashrian bride?
Essential accessories for a Maharashrian bride include:
Jewelry: Ornate gold nose ring (nath), heavy necklaces, 'chandrakor' pendant, 'tulsi mala' necklace, and 'bajuband' armlets.
Mangalsutra: A sacred necklace signifying a woman's married status, typically made of black beads and gold.
Headgear: Elaborate bun adorned with flowers and a 'gajra', 'nath', and 'choda' hair ornament.
Make-up: Subtle makeup with kohl-lined eyes, rich red lips, and a touch of rouge on the cheeks.
Q5: Where can I find Maharashrian bridal sarees?
Maharashtrian bridal sarees can be found in traditional saree shops, online retailers specializing in Indian attire, and at stores that cater to ethnic wear. It's always a good idea to visit local artisans and shops to find authentic Paithani and Chanderi sarees, adding a unique touch to the bridal ensemble.
Conclusion
The Maharashrian bride's saree is more than just an attire; it's a symbol of heritage, elegance, and tradition. It's a tapestry woven with threads of history, craftsmanship, and cultural pride. From the intricate designs to the vibrant colors, the saree reflects the rich tapestry of Maharashtran culture, making it a treasured part of the state's wedding traditions. As generations continue to embrace the beauty and significance of the Nauvari Saree, it stands as a timeless testament to the enduring spirit and artistry of the Maharashtran people.

How to Choose the Perfect Indian Necklace for Your Style in the USA
An Indian necklace can bring a touch of sophistication and beauty to your wardrobe accessories. Maaya Fine Jewels, an Indian jewelry in USA with our headquarters in New Jersey, knows how important it is to locate the ideal necklace to match your unique style. In this post, we'll walk you through choosing the perfect Indian necklace for your style.

Establish The Neckline
Considering your neckline is the first step towards selecting the ideal Indian necklace. Certain necklines suit different necklace types more than others:
If your blouse or dress has a V-neck, go for a shorter necklace hanging over the neck.
Select a longer necklace that dangles below the collar if you have a high neckline.
Necklaces in the choker design pair well with boat neck or off-the-shoulder outfits.
Think About Your Face Shape
Additionally, the kind of Indian necklace that best suits your face shape is something to consider:
Select a necklace with a longer drop to make your face appear longer if you have a round face.
If your face is square, choose a necklace with a V-shaped or curved pendant to soften the angles.
Most necklace types work well on oval faces, but a necklace with a pendant that pulls the eye down might look especially good.
Decide on the Necklace Length
Take into account both your desired overall style and your height when choosing the length of your Indian necklace:
Princess necklaces (16–18 inches) and chokers work well on small frames to create a striking, daring style.
20–24 inch matinee necklaces are adaptable with many different necklines.
Opera necklaces, which measure between 30 and 36 inches, are ideal for taller women or those who want a more dramatic, layered style.
Wear Your Necklace with Your Clothes
The Indian necklace In USA you select needs to go well with the colour and overall design of your ensemble:
Choose a statement piece for a formal occasion, such as a choker with diamonds or a Kundan necklace.
Simple, attractive necklaces, such as a beaded necklace or a delicate chain with a pendant, look great with casual attire.
To create visual interest with a solid-coloured top or dress, go for a necklace with colourful gemstones or elaborate motifs.
Think About Your Skin Tone
Your skin tone can also affect which metal type suits you best:
Indian necklaces in rose or gold are a good choice if your skin tone is warm.
Indian necklaces made of silver or platinum suit people with cool skin tones the best.
With warm and cool metals, Olive skin tones can look good, giving you more options.
Make an Investment in High-Quality Materials
It's crucial to spend money on high-quality materials while buying an Indian necklace in the USA:
Seek out necklaces of precious metals such as sterling silver or 14k or 18k gold.
Ensure that any diamonds or gemstones utilized are of the highest caliber and possess excellent colour and clarity.
Examine the necklace's artistry, looking for delicate motifs and strong clasps.
Add More Jewelry as an Accessory
After selecting your Indian necklace, think about how it will complement your existing jewelry:
Keep your earrings modest and understated if you're wearing a spectacular necklace.
With this necklace, you can use a stack of bangles or statement earrings for a more understated look.
Don't forget to finish your traditional Indian appearance with a nose ring or maangtikka.
In conclusion, it all comes down to considering your neckline, face shape, attire, and personal tastes while selecting the ideal Indian necklace for your style in the USA.
