marie-victoire looked at her and bit her lip. could she really be more than a fling? could she really be her future partner, and be strong enough to navigate the complexities of the belgian court, and people? she'd need to learn dutch, french, and german for sure. she'd need some lessons on history and etiquette, but other than that... yeah, she could fit in with her own vision of her future. maybe it was time to reveal that she did indeed want more, that she had bigger plans than clandestine dates and hidden kisses. it was only after a few seconds of her pondering that she noticed the other woman had actually spoken to her. she hadn't heard what she said and decided to not ask her. she had other matters to discuss.

In a world that was controlled solely by his father, Leroy took whatever chances he could get to have time to himself and more often than not those times were when the castle was dark and everyone else in the place was asleep or something akin to it. Wandering the cold stone halls had become a pastime of his, usually venturing to the large library to consume his favorite stories or studies but this especially black and stormy night had the prince wandering the dark halls of his fathers castle to try and calm his restless mind.

He walked as silent as any feline who was used to their darkened home, easing in and out of the shadows like he was made from them. A distant light caught his attention rather quickly, a faint and small candle carried from someone seemingly trying to go unnoticed through the empty halls. Leroy was impressed they had managed to evade the guards that were patrolling the halls but they were loud and the prince had always easily tricked the guards to avoid them.

The vampire lurked in the shadows, paused in his steps to observe the light as it danced closer to his large pocket of completely shadow, pale face barely noticeable in what moonlight was able to make it through the storm clouds outside. As the light grew ever closer Leroy moved through the shadows, one with them in body and presence, whisking around the other like a cold breeze from the window which he had opened also in a flash of movement that was hidden by the shadows.

Rain and wind whipped in, putting out the others' light source. As the closures on the window slammed shut on their own accord, Leroy chuckled, hoping he had startled the other in his appearance from the shadows. "Wandering these halls at night is rather brave of you," Leroy hummed in amusement, figure more illuminated than it had been before as he emerged from the very shadows in the hall. "-- I could help you find your way.... if you're lost."

margaret couldn't tell them, however, that she was thinking about her future... but it would be unprecedented to have a queen who was married to a woman, and especially hard considering she’d become a defender of the faith: the anglican faith. anglicanism wasn’t accepting of homosexuality, except some rejected branches. it would be so much easier to just go the ‘normal’ route - and yet, she couldn’t imagine herself marrying a man just to please the masses. she would go above and beyond for her duty, but whom she shared her life with should be her choice. that didn't mean she felt brave enough to come out by any stretch of the imagination. she had almost resigned to her fate of becoming the next ‘virgin’ queen, at least in the eyes of her people, until she met her.

margaret had made it clear she couldn’t be public and the other woman had accepted that. she had never even pushed the princess, but the future queen had realized on her own that her need to have this person in her life was greater than the fear she had of her family’s and nation’s reaction. it was 2023, most of the country was in favor of same-sex marriage. it was legal for every citizen, so why not for her?

so, here she was - on one knee and holding a brilliant ring as they were on a private balcony where they’d just shared dinner. “i know there are many pressures awaiting us, and i know i always said we could never be more than a secret… but i love you and if there is one person i want to face everything with, it is you. i love you - more than i ever thought possible. would you please do me the honor of becoming my wife?” she asked, tears brimming in her eyes. her heart was racing, because what if facing the british press, the church, and the duties of marrying into the royal family was too much for the other? what if she’d be rejected, now that she was finally ready to commit?

* MY BEST FRIEND IS A ROCKSTAR: (tw: death) muse a & muse b have been best friends since they were kids and grew up together. throughout their childhood, muse b had always told muse a about his plans to become a famous musician and as he grew older, became more and more determined to make those dreams come true. when they both hit their teen years, feelings eventually grew and the two were head over heels for each other but neither of them was ever able to admit it. they were both terrified that the feelings would be unrequited or that it would ruin their friendships so just imagine the angst of them seeing each other with other people and FGHDFG. anyway, when muse b finally turns twenty-one, he decides to move to hollywood to make his dreams come true, and muse a stays in their small hometown. they keep in contact with one another but as time went on, muse b becomes a huge rockstar with his band and their contact start to drift but they always had each other in their thoughts, wishing they were closer to one another. a few years pass and they still speak but it’s not like before. muse b was hugely successful and enjoyed the life he was now living but always felt like something was missing. that someone was missing… it’s not until he gets a distraught call from muse a telling him that her mother died does he rush on a private jet and comes home to her. after helping her arrange the funeral and being there for her through her grief, he suggests that she comes on tour with him and the band. wanting to run away from everything and everyone in her small town, she agrees. queue cute ass moments on the tour bus, traveling the world and falling in love like they did when they were young. add drama, angst ( because they’re both still dumb and won’t admit to their feels) stadium tours, TENSION!!!, groupies, etc, etc.
