On As Days Get Dark I marvelled at how Aidan Moffat had finally aged into the filthy old man he’d always been – and that continues to be the case on I’m totally fine with it 👍don’t give a fuck anymore 👍, with Moffat as unflinching and carnal as ever (and against the tide of current social and cultural tastes). Equally admirable is he and Malcolm Middleton’s increasing instrumental boldness, adding post-industrial clatter to the previous record’s indietronic turn. All that is enough to not just make this a compelling listen but even make up for the bits that sound like an old man yelling out silly, mundane takes on technology and modern life.
