So how many guys would you like to run a train on you?
I think most men should use mass transit when possible and pressure those in power to invest in infestructure like train lines etc. The idea that we should be satisfied with just making a switch from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles is being pushed by capitalists with obviously vested interests.

We have had so many issues and incidents with drivers being reckless and dangerous in and around bike spaces in Philly, especially since Mayor Charelle Parker cut funding that had been set aside to protect bike lanes and to provide more bike infestructure.
I've personally been hit by 3 cars, and luckily only was sent to the hospital once. My former student was unfortunately killed by a driver at 16 years old. I've witnessed a driver get distracted by texting and hit someone so hard they flew over the car.
We need protection as bikers, skateboarders, scooter riders, and as pedestrians. I am tired of people dying because of asshole drivers assuming that whole ass road is for them and intentionally driving and cursing at us. Enough is enough. No more bike deaths.

Sincona By Night, chronicle start
Now where are we? around 5 years ago a company called RekCon began scouting for towns to make a new centre in, ideally somewhere with a decent connection for transporting freight, with existing machininng infestructure to repurpose. And a stagnating economy which they could come in and play savior by revitalising. Sincona fit the bill and Hera Kingsley began purchasing land and realestate, factories, warehouses, even residential and public spaces, make the people see the RekCon logo as a symbol for a friend and just another entity in the city's resurging ecosystem. One region they want is Beaumant lane, it used be made up of shops and fun distractions for the people of city until they all shuttered their doors, and is home to Evangeline Cruz. She came not intending to set root but simply as a stop on her travels but well here the decaying city spoke to her and she wanted to take it on as a project to uplift and help, so with funds from a previous life she bought a few buildings and opened a casino and spa, then got an appartmant building, invested in some other things along the lane. Evangeline has earned good will with both her baron Joel Kenny and with the Baron Kayonde, her coterie being given place to act on his behalf in area of the city his crew can't reach due to turf disputes with other gangs. So there's the meat of the conflict two predators fighting for the soul of the city. one living one dead, Early on they encountered a van parked in their domain that had a sword and sorcery type airbrush mural of a barbarian holding a sword in front of a eclipse in a field of reaped wheat that they identified to be sabbat. after dealing with them and burning the bodies and van they stole ritual equipment to investigate telling Joel about the sabbat presence he set the coterie Byteback to investigate and deal with them. With that the players focued on dealing with Emaline's sire, track him down, kill him.

Am I the only one who gets Zuko vibes from Leona with the new info that came out in this new event? They are both outcast princes, who are smart and care about their subjects. However, they are often dismissed and pushed aside by asshole nobles, who see them as less worthy for circumstances outside of their control. At least Leona has it a bit better since he was never banished or had his face burnt by his father as a punishment. But on the flipside, Zuko is the first born son, and can ascend to the throne while Leona isn’t afforded that opportunity.
I can see the similarities. Especially since I was reading the summary translations of the new event and twst!Zazu (I haven't seen the name enough times to remember it) seems to highlight a lot of how everyone sees Leona being untrust worthy and unreliable. (Makes you wonder if the reason Leona avoids so much is out of habit from just proving them right since they are so content to believe it)
On the note of the new event though I think we got a hint of why Leona is interested in the mining industry to do his internship. He wants to increase the city's infestructure to better give access to resources like water to citizens while also keeping in touch with the environmental concerns of the country.

Some amendments that I'd like to add as someone that has been playing minecraft since 2014 but is so fixated on it that i have fixes for everything:
If you're able to, instead of any old block to keep in your inventory, keep a stack of logs in your inventory (spruce logs are the easiest to get a lot of if you're able to get 4 saplings, usually they produce more saplings when you chop down the big ones), its REALLY useful for building, and with a stack of logs, you can make an entire set of replacement tools or even torches if you're desperate enough (making a pickaxe, fuel for furnace, and sticks for torches)
If you have them enabled on your server, and you aren't at the point in the game where you have shulker boxes (or just dont wanna use them like me), get a really simple datapack that lets you make bundles, and use them. you can store a lot of small little things in there that help you, like 1-2 gapples, or maps, or your clock and compass. they REALLY help out with making your inventory tidy, and you can even store bundles IN bundles, if you want to have some extra storage space for adventures.
Use your 3rd person camera (F5 by default on java, you can re-bind it in your controls) whenever you're trying to be careful, or when you're on a ledge, or pretty much anything of those sorts. it adds so much more visibility when you're building or exploring.
if you're intending on keeping a world for a long time, and especially if you're with friends, BUILD INFESTRUCTURE. Bridges, paths, hell, even minecart tracks. they're so useful for if you need to do any kind of mob transport, or even transport your pets somewhere. it also gives you so much structure to your world, and makes things so much more connected.
About the nether boat highway, if you dont wanna mine at the bottom of the world, and dont want to go above the bedrock, mine at the top of the world! make sure that you're careful about caves and pitfalls that go to the top, but its SO MUCH easier to make a full on nether boat highway at the top of the nether, so you dont have to clean up too much lava.
Also, if you built far away from spawn, put a portal at spawn and an ice highway back home, so that you can quickly get back without worrying
if you dont want to use elytra / shulkers, or the server you're on disallowed them, get some tridents ASAP. they're really close to second best, without needing fireworks at all!
Life-Saving Minecraft Tips that I almost never see anyone else using (am I just bad at the game...?)
Always carry a bucket of water in your hotbar, especially if you're going caving.
Keep a Warped Fungus handy when traversing the Nether. Hoglins can't attack you if you're standing near a Warped Fungus. I also like to keep a Flower Pot on me just in case I run into a pack of Hoglins somewhere I can't place the fungus directly on the ground.
Use potions. Idk if it's just the kinds of lets-players I watch or what, but I can't believe how many people are sleeping on these.
Night Vision for the Deep Dark (Nether Wart + Golden Carrot). Keeps you from waking up the Warden with a single careless torch placement, and also negates the Darkness effect if you activate a Shrieker.
Invisibility Potions for death runs back to your items (Night Vision Potion + Fermented Spider Eye)
Slow Falling for the Ender Dragon fight (Nether Wart + Phantom Membrane)
Fire Resistance negates like 85% of the danger in the Nether (Nether Wart + Magma Cream)
Adding some Redstone Dust to any potion will increase the duration of its effects to 8 minutes. Three max-duration potions will keep you covered for a little more than one full day-night cycle.
Wool blocks are soundproof (but carpets aren't 😕). Completely covering a Skulk Sensor or Chest with wool blocks before interacting with it will prevent chain reactions from other Sensors.
Set up a safe base with a bed at world spawn (usually around coordinates 0, 0) so that you don't have to sprint buck naked through the night if you lose your respawn point.
I actually like to put my main base near world spawn because I easily get disoriented when trying to navigate by coordinates alone, and it's much simpler for me to just follow a Compass back home (I think that's an exclusive-to-Niki problem tho. I've never heard of anyone else wanting to do this 😅).
This is only tangentially related, but I can remember a time when Zombies dropped Feathers instead of Rotten Flesh. You'd think I wouldn't die so often, having played this game for almost 13 years...

Hey garbage trucks outside, I appreciate your work ethic and recognize your essential nature as part of civic infestructure, but recording a podcast is hard enough without you circling back every few minutes to mess up my takes.

It's funny as fuck that Americans are the first to defend their guns, the ones constantly at war, we as a people undeniably support this and it's been evident since 1776.
So why the fuck are we so scared of riots?? Why are we scared to fight ourselves?? How are we able to preach violence and shun it on the perfect tightrope right vs left?? How have we not all filled the streets and made our voices actually known, not just heard but understood? How are we the ones standing peacefully singing songs in hand held circles while our people suffer every single day? Are we so comfortable with the little we've been given? Fuck you by the way for reading this and thinking "oh but you have so much more than they do in China or in Ecuador" because this isn't about having more than them. This is about us as a people, a human people standing up to our global oppressors, our corporations, our industries, our governments, our friends and family and saying "only the select few actually thrive, who are they to deny us the ability? Who are they to hold onto 90% of the world's wealth for the future generations of their blood? Who are they to redline, to redistribute, to imprison, to sanction, to lead? Our leaders do not lead, they are the dragons of old, sitting on a pile of our hard fought gold and telling us we need to stop being greedy and work harder. All the while our sweat and toil will only grow their piles! We are the many, the oppressed, the doomed; they may have the technology, the weapons, the infestructure... But what they'll never have again if we stand up is US, and we are the entire source of their power. This hoard began in the light and we've known it by name for years we defended it as the true pure way; Capitalism has bread these new monsters and it is up to us as the upholders of the system to dismantle it if we're ever to gain our solidarity and freedom back. This cannot come through any amount of peaceful protests, of any form of nonviolent civil disobedience; it can only come through blood sacrifice, because blood built it. It will be ours to be sure, spilled clawing our way to the dragons nests against militarized police forces masquerading as "defenders", but the majority will be from them and their families once the battles won."
What I mean to say here is that Americans have gotten so comfortable with the lot we've been handed, our iPhones and laptops and porn, fast food and instant gratification to keep us happy at our lowest impulses and desires. We can't see everything they have taken from us, everything theyre keeping from us, our own countrymen in desperate need (STOP SENDING FLINT BOTTLED WATER THEY NEED A NEW FUCKING INFESTRUCTURE) we have become entirely fucking complacent in our roles because though we are the new slaves to the capitalist overlords, they have given us creature comforts and they let us live in our own world far far away from the villas, mansions and estates they reside within. Americans are the dumbest, weakest, most idiotic fucking people and they know this, they've made us this way and keep us this way to protect the legacy of their hoard. My friends, my family, strangers, everyone... KILL YOUR POLITICIAN, BOMB YOUR POLICE FORCE, AND LETS FUCKING EAT DONALD TRUMP ALREADY.
THE FEAST OF OUR VICTORY WILL BE SERVED AT THE BURNED STEPS OF EVERY CAPITAL BUILDING, OUR DRINK WILL BE FROM THEIR CELLARS AND OUR MEAL WILL BE THEIR HEARTS.

If dinosaurs were still around, we would have infestructure built around protecting us from them like armored trains, tall houses, everyone gets a poking stick etc. I really think crime would go down a lot because of dinosaur security

Happy Fourth of July
It is independence day. The day where we dig out all of our American pride and old songs. But, what is it you are celebrating.
Are you celebrating freedom? America is no longer considered the most free. We have children locked up, we know blacks and Hispanics are unfairly incarcerated, corporations pay next to nothing making us have to give our lives to our jobs just to make ends meet, our media and internet are starting to be threatened, and gay rights are still a major topic.
Are you celebrating us being brave? We allowed our president to tear us apart using fear. We have been fighting the war on terror for so long we don't even know what we are afraid of. We are so scared we can not even trust ourselves, Black's vs the police, Americans vs "illegals" Republicans vs Democrats. It's all fear. The bravest people I have seen this year are the parkland students, and people want to shoot them because they are afraid they will take their guns.
Are you celebrating we are proud? Are you really truly proud? Do you enjoy what we became? Our social security, something we MUST pay into for retirement is being unproperly spent. Native Americans were forced onto small patches of land and told that it belonged to them, and then we built an oil pipe on it, using military grade riot control on people trying to protect what they were told belonged to them. Teachers are rapidly loosing their jobs because there is no value put on them, dispite being the people that take care of us for 14 years of our life, while college is so expensive anyone that attempts that path owes at least 10 years of their life. And let's not look at the amount of damage we do to our own homes. The overpopulation, the car based infestructure, the pollution, the deforestation, the horrid treatment of animals.
This Fourth of July I want people to think. What are we celebrating. I hate hearing people say Make America great. There was no point in America's history that was great or fair. What makes America Great is we are supposed to be a country that moves foward. Civil Rights, Woman's Rights, Gay Rights, Inventors. The changes for the better is what makes America great, not a flawed time in our past, our eye for the future.
Let's not let 45 and the Republicans that support him turn back time or else we lose the one thing that makes America truly great, and use today to actually think of what you feel is important. There is always a charity or a cause, or a person in need of aid.

Hi! I'm running a campaign where the central focus at the start is one of the PC's Warlock Patron being a demiurge-like deity of justice/retribution. I've pulled the players together with visions, and I want to loop them into this one players quest for vengeance in their own way (to make the visions, why they were chosen make sense) I'm having difficulty looping them in because I want to focus on ways that justice can be wrought, without necessarily being a punitive force, you feel?
Oooh, Coming right out of the gate with some heavy and weighty themes. I generally like to start my parties off soft and dial in on the meaningful stuff over time.... but I think I can help you out.
You need to give your party something to be collectively vengeful about, eventually relating back to the warlock player's own backstory. That means you need to get them to care about something collectively (likely an NPC, settlement, or something else they've chosen to care about) , then swing around and grievously injure/destroy it to invoke their ire.
Here's a couple ideas, pretty scattered as I don't know what your warlock player's deal is:
The party help reunite a pair of lovers who were kept apart by society/a twist of fate/social obligation ( though nothing directly violent) and get to see their relationship blossom into something truly beautiful..... Then someone related to the warlock's past comes by and ends up killing one of them, leaving the party with one of their friends dead and the other as a grief wracked shell of a person.
The party are entrusted with an important duty ( defense of a thing, observation of a particular right, important roles in a festival or religious ceremony) by a trusted mentor... only to have this duty disrupted in the course of again, warlock antagonist related minions. Now the party's been dishonored in addition to losing whatever their attempt at holding vigil spoiled, and have a right to avenge themselves against a target.
The party helps save a town from a minor but wide ranging threat, inadvertently becoming local heroes, welcomed by all. The townspeople become their friends, and they get to think of this place as their new home...... then you have something warlock related come by and hit the town like a hurricane, destroying infestructure, ripping lives apart, killing a few of their friends. Now the party is going to be drawn to either help rebuild or strike back.
While you're setting up this big gutpunch, be sure to have a minor side adventure ( set between when the party does the good thing™ but before you hurt them for it) where someone does vengeance the WRONG way, ending up with disaster for everyone involved. This foreshadows exactly how the party SHOULDN'T go about things, bloodthirsty and blind to anything but their own pain and ego.
