what happened with daybit? I know you're only invested with him.
Skimming the script looking for crumbs. I can tell you:
His backstory is revealed, and he's not Bluebook (unless Nasu drops another revelation in the future). However, he's indeed the one who threatened Marisbury to shut down Chaldeas in Initium Iter as I (and others) theorized.
His issues are gracefully explained in his messed up backstory too, including his name meaning. So his name was meaningful but not in a connection to Bluebook as many of us theorized.
He aims to 'save the universe' instead of saving the world like Guda does, admitting Marisbury isn't an enemy of humanity but rather an "enemy of the universe."
Tezca/Daybit fans will enjoy the conclusion, I think, because they are together in Tezca's afterlife (which is referred to as a 'spa') for now. But I'm more of a Pepe/Daybit fan so...
He's very interesting overall, but the direction of the plot is so messy that at this point, I'm assuming Nasu's making shit up along because people guessed his mystery boxes years ago and he’s trying to retcon stuff to "surprise" us. I know I joked about there are Seven Apostles before, but that got confirmed. Ick. Not even the Bluebook thing wrapped (U-Olga = Specimen E seems a wrap). Unless he becomes something of a dropped plotpoint... like basically all foreshadowing in Enkidu's interlude, and Moriarty (old) vs Holmes which got retconned due to young Moriarty and everything else.

Tumblr media
Tumblr media
  而MOONLIGHT/LOSTROOM裡,雷夫肯定人類並說守護星球是他的人生目標。
Tumblr media
(Lev ≠ Flauros)

god, i just really love how initium iter portrayed romani’s journey as a person. he was a being who was denied humanity from the very start traveling the world to finally experience it having lived as a tool for something far above him. romani worked and studied and volunteered and in all those moments he witnessed humanity’s joys and wonders and losses and tragedies.
and while he did, he was in a hurry to do so being aware of what mankind’s destiny would be, he was a man running his way through his growth, rushing through so much of life in a short amount of time never really stopping to enjoy it, desperate to understand life because maybe, just maybe, if he did he’d be able to save the lives of the world he was now a part of. but he was so deathly afraid of the destruction that would come about, a destruction he wholeheartedly believed he was responsible for, that in running to save mankind it seemed like he was running away from its destruction, running away from finding out what about him and his actions would end up causing the greatest final catastrophe of mankind.
it makes the events of solomon so much more meaningful and severe, the quote “life is a pilgrimage in which we stockpile suffering. however that is by no means a tale of death and partings.” comes to mind in particular. romani would know this better than anyone despite having lived so shortly, because he experienced all that life had to offer with what little time he had. it’s blessings, it’s burdens, all a literal pilgrimage that etched its events into his soul, a journey in physicality intrinsically tied to spirituality.
and at the end of that journey romani decided to stop running away, to confront the creation that stole away the future of mankind and stand his ground and, accept the consequences of things he could and could not control and give his life to entrust mankind with its own future as a heroic spirit should, as an existence that had lived its life, with the only thing left to give being the gentleness in his heart, a gentleness that fostered and raised a life that like him knew nothing and wanted nothing but could know everything and receive everything because she deserved it despite having little time to life herself.
romani was so insecure about whether or not he was actually human, calling himself a fledgling and comparing himself to that life that knew nothing and had nothing, despite her looking up to him as the most human existence she had ever known, because of all he decided to share with and teach her about not in spite of his own inexperience but because of it. because he tried his best to carry himself as an example to her flawed and uncertain though he was.

On this writing post from earlier today (well, 5/29/2021, since Tumblr can be weird with showing timestamps of posts):
@withanina: "Oh! Long, and good! So much feels have really hit me hard. But it’s the heartwarming stuff that’s always so nice to read. I’m glad to see Murasaki, mainly because of my bias, but that book really does come back a lot doesn’t it. Thanks so much for sharing Vy!"
@syabudakbarubelajar (in the tags): "just watched fgo initium iter and moonlight lostroom so i read this with mash's voice/tone from the anime jhbdcbhjcdh sdjhdshd im even imagining this fic being animated and flowing like said anime eps edkfninjefinl yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee fgo fate grand order fate go mastersona vy gudasona fuckfuckfuck hits right in the kokoro ufbddidnndl lostbelts are a bitch and so are the crypters and that foreign god-bitch whatever their reasons are im still  ggonna give them an enthusiastic greeting to the face with a crowbar vy stay stronk za cake isnt a lie kkkkkkkkk i gotta read ur other one but wait did i already? idk cant remember"
@hasquetzdoneanythingwrong: "So wholesome with that special book, and Murasaki and Robin reassuring that you’re still a good person! I loved it!" (in the tags) "i was mentioned! Quetz birthday soon! another cake for Quetz! cute!"
@partialdignity (in the tags): "this is really good vy very laid back and soft which vy definitely needs at this point very good use of the portal joke my friend 😉 thank you for this fluff and i hope Quetz had a good birthday"
-----------------------------------------
All these responses really bring a lot of joy to a very quiet day over here for me. And considering I've been revisiting a certain moe-zombie anime in my free time for writing inspiration, I'm glad to know my attempts at fluff today paid off.
I really need to get around to giving Murasaki and a lot of my other newer Servants some spotlight (Samba Quetz especially, considering a certain Rex who was mentioned in the fic), but gosh, Robin's still stuck in my heart and it's hard to get him to move. Ah well. He's a good Archer and I love him a lot. Even now, he's still helping me get through tough work days where I'm the only trainer for new people in my department left which hurts considering I haven't been in this job for more than 6-7 months and this happened. Life has been... something.
On the other hand, Fate/Grand Order is a large game in both story scale and character roster, so the bits and pieces of fluff I can put in before the next story event happens feels all the more important these days.
Thank you all for reading and enjoying my work. :)

Guide To The Fate Series Part 1
This is not really a quick answer to “Where should I start watching Fate?” but it is in depth.
Main Timeline:
Fate/Zero
Fate Zero: Onegai! Special
Fate Zero Cafe
Fate/Stay Night
Fate/Stay Night TV Reproduction
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works: The Movie
Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feels Trilogy
Basically all Stay Night anime are adapted from a visual novel named Fate/Stay Night and each anime adapts a different route while Zero is an adaptation of a prequel novel that takes place 10 years before it.
So where do you start?
Start with Zero if you want to progress chronologically (keep in mind that the animation studio, Ufotable , animated most of them and improved a lot with each new series) and don’t mind spoilers.
Onegai takes a peek at what happens after Zero
Cafe Zero can not be found anywhere
FSN:UBW or FSN is recommended if you wish to progress as originally made. FSN (either the VN or the studio Deen anime) is not usually recommended over UBW as the anime is the the least faithful and oldest adaptation as they combined several route plot points into one while the VN is lengthy and hard to download. UBW could not adapt 1:1 the VN but is definitely a better experience visually.
Heaven’s Feel goes after UBW full stop, it assumes you’ve watch the tv series and will skip the prologue.
TV Reproduction and the UBW movie are just edited together summaries so I do not recommend them.
Grand Order Timeline:
Fate/Grand Order is a gacha game where you the player are tasked with saving the world with Chaldea aka The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, Finis Chaldea.
Fate/Grand Order: First Order
Fate/Grand Order: Camelot Movies
Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia - Initium Iter
Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia
Fate/Grand Order: Solomon
Fate/Grand Order: Moonlight/Lostroom
Fate/Grand Order: Learning with Manga
Fate/Grand Carnival While you technically can watch FGO through anime only it’s not recommended as you’ll miss out on a lot of chapters but if you wish to know the order to watch them in then here you are:
First Order adapts the prologue of the game and serves as as a good intro to it all as characters from Stay Night show up as new versions of their characters.
Camelot adapts the 6th chapter but as of writing this post has not been released fully yet.
Initium Ilter is an anime only special episode focusing on the backstory of  main characters in FGO, Mashu and Romani. I highly recommend watching it.
Babylonia adapts the 7th chapter as a TV series but I can not recommend it unless your favorite character shows up. It’s filled with constant panty shots to the point where after watching an adaptation of one of my favorite chapters all I could think about was what a waste of time it is.
Solomon covers the 8th chapter but has not released yet.
Learning with Manga is actually more of a gag anime and is based on a gag manga.
Grand Carnival is a fun what if scenario that imagines hijinks at Chaldea
Moonlight serves as a prologue for part 2 (not chapter 2) of FGO
Spinoffs:
Fate/Prototype
Fate/Apocrypha
Fate/Extra Last Encore
FATE/EXTRA: LAST ENCORE ILLUSTRIAS TENDOUSETSU
Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA
Prototype is a animated short showing what the initial idea for FSN was
Apocrypha is if a timeline split from before Zero and 14 teams battled each other instead of the usual 7.
Last Encore is based on the question of what would happen if the villain from the original Extra games won. and is also very confusing
ILLUSTRIAS TENDOUSETSU is 4 more episodes of it
Kaleid Liner is a magical spinoff based around a character from Stay Night. Apparently the movie and manga have a good story but I do not recommend unless you can tolerate a show that put fanservice in a cast of elementary school kids
Part 2 will focus on everything other than anime adaptations

why does daybit want to destroy the planet?
Spoilers+ speculation.
Ehh I don't think Daybit wants to destroy the planet if he's saying the truth at all and not doing a longcon with Tezca. His face when he speaks he's an enemy of humanity looks very pained when he's usually the stoic type. However, he obviously wants to destroy Chaldeas for a reason. If you pay attention to Tezca words, ORT is going to attack Chaldeas but never... actually mentions Earth.
It's an assumption it's Earth due to the visuals and the assumption that Chaldeas isn't its own planet and its contents are on the surface now. Lookie:
This is what he says.
The assumption it's Earth is due to the last sentence and visuals, but IMO that's possible, absolutely, but also he could be speaking of Chaldeas. Because he weirdly just mentions that as the destination of ORT's attack. However, I don't think FGO can be saved without Chaldeas. Still, it's possible the Earth also gets dragged into it for funsies since it's a Star Eater, and Daybit could be willing to see it as acceptable collateral. But let's recap that Daybit targeted Chaldeas since Initium Iter/Episode 0 of Babylonia. Why?
Before everything becomes the Void/turns hollow. Everyone focusing on ORT and Daybit sees him possibly destroying the planet at worst and dooming humanity (in FGO) at best, as a lesser evil. I'll say that Tezca describing ORT going straight for that may indicate it also sees Chaldeas as a threat. Daybit did say everything will turn hollow/voided. So maybe poor crystal spidey also gets to join everyone’s fun!
Remember that celestial bodies also turns hollow according to the Animusphere’s chant. But IMO, there’s no future within FGO without Chaldeas even if something went awry. Because humanity definitely destroyed the future. U-Olga’s Noble Phantasm (datamined) implies it.

Just watched Initium Iter
Finally after postponing Babylonia for who knows how long.
Well it’s still Ep0 but progress.
Nice to know the animation is pretty smooth. Guess all that whaling was worth it huh.
Watching this, knowing how FGO Part 1 ends and how Part 2 is painful, I uh, am really sad.
Roman :((((
They actually change POV midway from Roman to Mash..
I actually am tearing up watching Roman interacting with Mash. The genuine humane feeling is just too much.
Can’t watch Roman and Da Vinci together without thinking that their voice actors are actually married lol
Everything with Marisbury is just full of controversies huh.
Oh so that’s why ED1 has Mash staring specifically at starry sky…
When Shikisai starts playing and the narration changes based on the singularities…
Boy they really sell it. A story of what it means to be human.
(urging myself to continue watch it so that I can finally listen to Milet’s Tell Me)

Hey, I’m kinda new to imagines and such as a while and loving your blog, only one that I can find that is active. Just wanted to say I appreciate your work and what you do, really helps me our when I’m in a fucked up place mentally. I’m also new to the Fate series, my only experience being FGO, where do you think I should start when I want to continue pursuing my interest in this series? It has so many installments, and is just really complicated....
Hello!! Sorry for a late response, I had to think this over for a while to answer the second part of the message properly haha.
Thank you so much for following this blog and I’m glad that it brings joy into your life! (:
First, the Fate/Stay Night series.
As for entering the new Fate series, there’s… just so much going on. Fate/Stay Night was originally a visual novel, meaning that there were different routes. To generalize it, there are 3 main routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven’s Feel.
So, if you want to follow the routes in the general order of watching through Fate route, then UBW route, and then Heaven’s Feel, then you’d want to watch the following:
Fate/Zero (2011)
Fate/Stay Night (2006)
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014)
Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel 3 part movie: 2017, 2019, 2020)
Fate/Zero is the prequel to Fate/Stay Night, and it kind of gives you some (but not all) the background info that would help you connect why certain characters behave/interact with others the way they do. The rest are rather straight forward about which route they are, and I’ll refrain from diving too deep into what they’re about since I don’t want to spoil anything unintentionally.
As far as I know, all of these should still be on Netflix. But if they’re not, I’m sure you can find it somewhere else.
Now for the spin-off’s.
Fate/Kaleid Linear Prisma Illya
4 seasons, released 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
S1 - 11 episodes, S2 - 11 eps, S3 - 10 eps, S4 - 12 eps
This anime is centered around Illya and friends. Essentially it involves the idea of the 7 main classes and then using their attributes to turn into magical girls, or enhancing said magical girl abilities. It’s both comedic and also a bit dark at some points, and is a completely different universe compared to Fate/Stay Night. The characters will be familiar to you after you go through the Fate/Stay Night series though!
Fate/Apocrypha
Released 2017, 1 season, 25 episodes
This anime takes the original Holy Grail War and then multiplies it by 2 and turns it into a team event where you fight to the death (again). This one is in no way attached to the F/SN verse, but some characters may feel familiar to you since that’s just how the Fate series works.
Fate/EXTRA Last Encore
Released 2018, 1 season, 13 episodes
The animated series that’s supposed to let you experience the PSP game that came out years ago under the name of Fate/EXTRA. I actually did not watch this, but according to my friends, it doesn’t follow the game plot completely, but is still a good watch if you want to know where some other characters and Servants appeared from. Unfortunately, since I never watched it, I can’t summarize this for you ):
El-Melloi’s Case Files - Rail Zeppelin Grace Note
Released 2019, 1 season, 14 episodes
Follows a certain magus from the Fate/Zero verse and his way of coping with the life that follows. It revolves around mostly him, but also his assistant who will look vaguely familiar to you. It’s a good watch, and it also brings in a lot of other characters that are familiar (after watching all the other stuff above).
This animated series specifically adapts one chapter of the El Melloi’s Case File, as the original platform for this content was a light novel that was then adapted into a manga.
Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family
Released 2018, 13 episodes
A really light-hearted series that revolves around the main protagonist of the Fate/Stay Night series and his interaction with others. It’s a really funny, warm, and light-hearted animation. Nothing similar to its predecessors in any way shape or form.
All this series will give you is cute interactions between characters that you thought wouldn’t exist - and make you hungry.
Carnival Phantasm
Released 2004, 16 episodes.
I originally wasn’t going to add this one to the list since it kind of has characters outside of Fate verse, but since it does still have Fate I shall add this in.
This animation is basically a collection of funny, absurd, and comedic situations that the Fate verse characters and other Type Moon characters go through. It’s light-hearted, funny, and will honestly make you lose some brain cells while watching it, but I do really recommend watching it simply for the amusement.
If you don’t watch it though, at least watch the racing episode. Please- I beg of you
And last but not least, animations and movies made for the Fate/Grand Order portion of the franchise
Fate/Grand Order - First Order
Released 2016 as a film.
The adaptation of the game’s prologue. It’s a great way to see the characters that we know and love be animated from the mobage that we play
Fate/Grand Order - The Absolute Demonic Battlefront Babylonia - Initium Iter
Released 2019, 21 episodes
This is currently ongoing and is the anime adaptation of F/GO’s 7th Singularity - Babylon. If you played the game, you know what I’m talking about and I won’t have to divulge too much info. If you don’t play the game, I hope you give this anime a shot because it’s honestly pretty well animated and the pacing isn’t all that bad. Although I may be biased since this was indeed my favorite singularity out of all the singularities in F/GO.
Fate/Grand Order - The Sacred Round Table Realm Camelot - Wandering; Agateram + Fate/Grand Order - The Sacred Round Table Realm Camelot - Paladin; Agateram
To be released in 2020, a film
This is going to be based on the 6th singularity, Camelot. Another plot heavy spoiler that I will not go into detail with, but we’re expected to get this some time next year in 2020. The singularity is going to be split into 2 movies though, so we can look forward to that (:
