21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

Favorite thing to do? Make him suffer >:]

Something I don't like? I'm honestly not sure, as I usually don't write things I don't enjoy writing, but probably how hard it can be to get his voice right at times. It can be very difficult at times, especially because I tend to wax prosaic in everything and Emmet is the most to-the-point bean I think I've ever written for.

23. Favorite picture of this character?

That is a very good question, I have no idea! There's a lot to choose from.

Honchkrow and Corviknight!

I love birds, corvids specifically, and I fell in love with these two. I have a sticker of a Honchkrow on my headset!

The only thing I don't like about Honchkrow is it's shiny... my boy deserved so much better than to be pink. Like a white crow would be SO COOL!!!

Bright pink and bright green shinies are always a little eh,, I'm sure someone out there enjoys them at least. Maybe a paler pink would've looked less jarring? And/or something purple-y closer to its original blue?

But a white Honchkrow would be very cool though

I also appreciate that shiny Corviknight looks like a different type of metal

The @ultimate-submas-tournament is underway!

Smokestack from the Heroes/Villains au that @the-digital-pen and I have been writing for is up against Ingo from @inkinary 's Fractured Sky AU! I was excited to be able to draw them facing off (by which I mean, able to find the time and energy...!)

Fractured Sky au is a very neat concept - love the worldbuilding, the way wings and pacts work, and the way both Ingo and Emmet are characterized! It's good stuff! So either outcome of the poll will be a satisfying one to me.

All the art and comics are all over the place and don’t follow any linear timeline since I am drawing whatever inspires me at the moment. However! I do have the chapter where Emmet loses his arm, Zora’s evolution and the ending to ‘Lone Emmet and Cub’ all planned! 

It’ll be a while though since I am still working full time and need to focus on commissions and my patreon as well >w< I’m just happy people are enjoying this self indulgent AU I made <3 I have a weakness for “accidentally adopted this child and doing their best” characters and wanted to explore more of soft Emmet/Kudari side even during hard times when searching for his brother.

I just want to say that I adore your drawing style and your creativity and just entire vibe altogether! I've followed you for a while because I to am a Volo enjoyer, and stayed because I just love seeing what you make next!

If I had to voice one thing that makes my happy little crow heart say "that's Esp's art right there!"... it'd be the eyes and mouth! For some reason, the way you draw them is very unique and expressive, and I always recognize it!

😊—Tell us one thing that makes you smile, without fail.

My chickens, and especially my dorky guinea rooster. He's a goofball, and I coddle him far more than I probably should, considering his tendency to bite the roosters, but he's my baby.

☕️—What do you put in your writing spaces to make you feel cozy/comfortable?

Blankets and my fuzzy robe are always close at hand (my "office" is in my bedroom).

Tissues (if I remember them) (preferably in a pretty box).

I like to position my writing spaces where there's a bunch of light, so I set up by a window.

Snacks! Lots of snacks, especially chocolates/chocolate chips to nibble on.

Water, and lately I've been enjoying iced coffee.

A lot of things have color to them -- upholstery, or doodles I haven't put away yet, notebook covers, the tissue box. My desk is cluttered at the moment, though, and I should tidy it up, but I like having something with color to it. I also have some art on my walls, and my bird calendar.

Lately, I've had a cute little pink resin ducky keeping me company. He sits on my (very dusty oops) desk lamp, and he glows in the dark. :>

"What is your favorite Holmes adaptation?"

Sooo, that question is quite hard considering that there are so many good versions/adaptations of the Holmes stories and they're all different. I do admit I am partial to the recent movies featuring Robert Downey, Jr. simply because they are unique stories but still keep the accuracy of the time period (they even consulted actual Sherlockian experts o.o). They're not perfect, but they're great. Also, Downey's performance showcases the eccentricities that not many actors show when they portray Holmes on screen.

Jeremy Brett comes as second simply because his performance in the first season is really, really good in my opinion. The actor's health got worse in the second season, though, and his performance seemed to diminish in believability (is that a word? I think so), so I can't force myself to watch any more of the Granada show right now. 😬😅

But... I think we all are aware of the very obvious fact that the original literary Canon is the best of them all. 😌

"What is one case you have solved (IRL) yourself?"

Hmmm. That is an excellent question, and I'm afraid I don't have nearly as excellent an answer. 😅 I suppose don't get many opportunities to "solve cases" in real life—that's quite sad, come to think of it—but I think I'm always figuring things out. :P

OH, and I wrote a case and solved it through my main character; does that count? 😏😆

While this event is framed in the lens of a good old fashioned competition, at the end of the day what it’s really about is finding new AUs and coming together as a community. Which means that while these AUs might not be moving on they’re still part of the tourney! These are the underdogs! The unknown! The rare! Which means you should check these ones out specifically!

Leave a comment! Reblog their post! Show them some love because they deserve it just as much as the competitors going forward!

And for those of you who have an itchy drawing finger? Drawings for these folks are extra sweet! Draw your blorbo with someone else's!
