DEFINITELY!!!! She gets all huffy and pouty when certain people interact with him, might yap a little when they get too comfy (I imagine she has a Nintendogs bark). Sits on his feet staring right up at whoever, puffs her little chest out. Like hello, no ma’am or mister. That is in fact my human. You smell weird, go away. Paws at his leg when he’s taking too much time talking to someone, brings a toy over and drops it in front of him to try and remind him of the task at hand.

I think the only exceptions would be the people at the DSO or BSAA, Hunnigan and Jill and Claire would love her and you can’t tell me otherwise. Leon brings her in slung in his arms once cause he decided it’s about time you see the office and they’re MELTING and Leon just has to roll his eyes and scoff. Of course you’ve won them over. From that day on you’re running in little circles asking over and over and over if you can go with him to work again the next time he has desk duty.

now that the season is over am i allowed to say the soundtrack left something to be desired? it felt… idk weird? incomplete? kind of wanted more hsm songs? could the frozen majority songs have something to do with an escapism theory myself and @insomniactalks have discussed? probably. we shall see

I can admit, I've definitely been pretty harsh on Ricky in defense of Gina (mainly b/c she's my favorite character and I hated seeing her in pain in S2😭) but I agree with you that no one should be calling him toxic, regardless of what you ship. He is still a teenage boy who is learning how to go about life.😙 I've deff seen a lot of hate towards Ricky while S2 was airing, claiming he was toxic to Nini and the relationship was toxic for both. I've also seen some claim he's toxic towards Gina. I don't agree w/ labeling him as "toxic," he's just a bit misguided. It was (slightly) infuriating post-2.07/2.08 seeing most of the fandom call Ricky out on his "toxicity" t/w Nini yet no one pointed out how she wasn't being very truthful to him thruout S2.🙄 All that to say, I'm so glad to see Ricky more laid back and happy in the promo shoots for S3 that was just released. I'm genuinely hoping this is a truly happier season for him.☺️ What do you think S3 holds for Ricky?

hi oh gosh thanks for the ask- i feel like this is probs SUCH a late response but i always tend to forget about stuff in my inbox after a bit haha.

honestly, i sorta think people just need to be gentler to each other in general on the internet haha. and i appreciate that you like- recognize your own feelings / behavior, that's more than a lot of people do :)

that whole storyline about gina liking ricky and ricky being with / being in love with nini and that crushing gina to watch- being entirely from gina's pov makes it easier for viewers to just hate him for his somewhat careless actions, but the end of the day that's unnecessary. i answered an anon ages ago where i said something along similar lines. like you can feel really bad for the way it all made gina feel without saying he's toxic towards gina, or insulting him generally speaking.

ricky and nini's season 2 relationship is complicated and it gets relentlessly oversimplified by the fandom, and the way the show presents the whole situation it makes it all the worse for ricky, particulalry when compounded with the fact people are very clearly supposed to be feeling sorry for gina. like whether they think he's toxic to gina, nini, or both, i've seen a good bit of that sort of narrative tossed around, and it's very over the top to say the least. i'll say i somewhat understand why viewers are quick to blame everything that went wrong on ricky (with this breakup and somewhat in general lbr, it's a narrative framing thing)... the way 2.08 handled the breakup for example, while incredibly emotional and lovely for the most part, leaves a lot of viewers feeling quite satisfied bc they can just blame everything on ricky- because he's the only person ever made to apologize... i can get into the nuances of that another time though this is already long haha. honesty was indeed a problem for her this season when it came to him, but lbr both characters were scared and i have a good bit more to say about the fight and stuff maybe another time. i'm very prone to want to defend ricky first and foremost given how viewers can treat him so yeahhh.

ricky does seem laid back / happy in the two promo photos we've seen... but i'll be honest, i don't think that necessarily means he's going to be having a good time this season. i mean the season 2 promo shoots didn't mean much for the season and such- the only truly "in character" thing about them were the necklaces haha. rip the 'freaky callback boy' and 'freaky math girl' necklaces. you will be sorely missed but also not missed bc monitoring all the promotional imagery for signs of the chains of necklaces to monitor the potential status of their relationship was just a LOT.

i hope he does have a good summer i just- this show does not have a good track record of letting ricky be happy. (throwback to that happy ricky bowen scenepack from season 1 being only like 51 seconds). tbh the fact of lily only being a guest star means that chances are, they're not going to use that storyline to its full potential, which doesn't bode well for ricky necessarily but also does at the same time? idk. it just depends on how they do handle him this season. regardless of lily's absence, i still think ricky's probably going to be the character getting left out in the cold. otherwise- and this is just entirely speculation based on even less than my prior theory about ricky... it could maybe be ej? i doubt it will be ej given this could be the beginning of the end for him and they'll want to keep him on a mostly upward trajectory. but if ej is a counselor, and can't audition, etc. maybe he feels a bit distanced from the wildcats group and such... idk. that's a whole different conversation though haha. if anyone's curious about what i think that could look like feel free to lmk. i don't think it will happen. but i guess you never know, it just came to me while i was rambling on this post.

what do i think the season holds for ricky? i don't know. potentially some distance from his friends, perhaps in part due to his distant relationship to theatre, the fact it was nini's thing first- the fact he's done both musicals for her- the fact he's probably at her same theatre camp- where she got with ej no less- without her... these were her friends before his... i'll be somewhat disappointed if they don't use the nini thing at all with him this season. their characters were so strongly tethered previously, that they need to prove he can be truly over her if they're wanting to put him in a lasting relationship. (bc even if they don't try to do it now i'm sure they'll want to down the line) and right now he's not there. he's trying with lily as of the season finale, but given she's only a guest star (which i think is a wasted opportunity) i don't think they're going to use that arc to help him move forward the way they could've. to get there i think he needs to either do theatre for himself or decide that like for nini- maybe theatre's not his one big passion either. either the former can occur / start to occur at camp, or they can start on a trajectory towards the latter.

basically- i don't know what to expect? i have a few ideas... but i think the two week timeline stifles (not necessarily rules out but seriously dampens) a lot of my previous theories / thought processes bc not very much character development can happen for any of these kids in two weeks. like i know sometimes we have quick OH moments of realization but usually change takes time. ricky's especially going to need time because y'know... change is hard for him in particular. it's why him letting go of nini for real is going to have to be a work in progress this season in a consistent storytelling perspective (from where i'm sitting).

that said- if camp is happening at the VERY end of summer... maybe i'll rethink some of these ideas. camp being at the start, the middle, or the end of summer makes a big difference to me in terms of certain potential plotlines and ideas. i don't really know.

I think both Channing and Val are going to help EJ with his college storyline but for different reasons. Channing is the cameraman at camp if EJ decides he wants to pursue a career at being a film director I think Channing would be the perfect person for EJ to go to for career advice. I can picture EJ bonding with Channing over their love for filming and become good friends at camp. Val is a college student I think she will give EJ some college advice somehow.

Here is how I picture Val helping Portwell since Val is EJ’s childhood friend from camp this means she knows about some of his past relationships at least with the girls he has dated at camp. This is super important because Val might notice that EJ’s relationship with Gina is different than his past relationship. Val might end up being the one that points it out to EJ that he is truly in love with Gina which could lead to a love confession at some point in Season 3. 2/2

Hi there, Anon! So, I decided to answer this now upon watching the newest trailer and this is an interesting headcanon. We know that a documentary is being filmed at camp and how there seems to be a possibility that Corbin Bleu's character wants it to be very interesting and full of drama (discussed further in this post by @insomniactalks). This makes me wonder if Channing will have the same approach and go along with Corbin or if he will act against this.

Another thing that makes me wonder is how involved Channing will actually be. The only other show I've seen that had a documentary style format where the cameraman ended up intervening at one point was on The Office, where he broke the scene to comfort one of the characters, implying that he has become friends with the character through the seasons (even if he was offscreen the whole time up to this point).

Based on the trailer though, I think Channing is different in that he might be a character we actually will see often onscreen, so I agree with you in that I would love for him and EJ to talk and bond over EJ’s interest and possible career in AV, especially since we don’t know if EJ’s last mentor figure, Mr. Mazzara, is going to make an appearance this season. We’ve also seen one scene in the trailer, where EJ is stressed and freaking out to Gina, which probably has something to do with the production, so it’d be great if Channing were to help him out with that too, instead of fueling the drama/chaos.

Now, I’ve already shared some of my thoughts about how Val and EJ’s friendship could go in this post, so I’ll just add a bit more here.

At the moment, we do not know where EJ stands on his future. The only thing we do know is that he’s not going to Duke. This gives him a bunch of choices, like he could go to community college, or to another four year university, or even take a gap year, etc. Honestly, the possibilities are endless!

If he is still undecided on what to do after summer during season 3 (which is very likely), I can imagine that Val, being his good friend and in college already, would be able to give some insights and help with EJ’s decision making process. Also, it stood out to me that they mentioned that Val is a psych major, so this could also factor in on what kind of character she is and the kind of advice she would give.

Anyway, now matter what EJ decides to do about any advice that Val would give, I do think that talking to her and opening up to her about his concerns for what the future holds, would do wonders for him.

EJ seems to already be stressed about the musical, and I’m sure that he’s also thinking about his plans after the summer at the back of his mind, so any help on that front would be great.

I really would just love to see a healthy friendship between them! Also, bonus points if Val ships Portwell and absolutely adores Gina!

Since the literal beginning of all my accounts, I was always using the pink and blue hearts in every single one of my captions, my bios, and even in an edit of mine. my little Build-A-Bear even reps Portwell colors! I noticed this before I came into the fandom and had to make it my thing since it was something I was right about. I love seeing my girl @insomniactalks mention it in her asks because she can always put stuff into better words than what I can. I always love reading what she has to say about it. I love seeing people come to me about it cause they know it originated from me. I’m glad it sticks in their head but honestly the last thing I actually expecting was for it to get around and stay. Glad I can be known for one thing lol.

I’ve finished playing Seperate Ways, and the metaphorical weight this DLC holds in solely the title makes me want to implode (Spoilers under the cut)

Throughout Ada’s storyline, she is tracking through her own path to get her own objectives done. Every time Leon moves forward through a section, she moves backwards through it. The village, the island. She is actively passing areas he has interacted with, or is about to interact with. Meeting up with him at moments that their interactions intertwine before they keep going. They’re both on their own paths.

They are literally going their seperate ways.

Hey! I'm the same anon who sent you what were the things you wanted/expected to see in Death Island. I watched the movie today, but I'm not sure if you've already watched it. If you have watched it, what're your opinions on the movie?

I have watched it!! I’ll be putting my thoughts under this lovely little cut because spoilers will be included!! ૮₍˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶₎ა

Overall was it an enjoyable movie? Yeah. Loved seeing all of my babies working together. Especially adored seeing my girl Jill getting the screen time she so deserves. We forget that she is literally DELTA FORCE TRAINED, she was kickass and I’m so glad to see how the events of the past years, especially Wesker, took a toll on her. But it also felt kind of rushed. There was barely any pacing between moments, I felt like it was just jumping from action to action to action. The only time there wasn’t anything like that was the whole Joker-styled speech about society, and that was because most of the main cast was injured and infected.

Sure, I liked it, loved the moments between Leon and Jill. Loved Chris and Claire reuniting again. But it just felt so- forced. Like they didn’t want to leave time for that usual Resident evil moment of talking once the area calms down. Died down ambience and everything. There was so much going on that they left no space for those key points I really liked in both the movies and games. The only time they had that was before the squad went out to Alcatraz.

Was it fan service? Absolutely. Was screaming all the way through the Maria and Leon fight. His bare hands? Choking on my own windpipe. But I will forever be a bias towards Vendetta Leon. The fact that they changed his face even though DI happens after the events of Vendetta is still something me and my friend will get a bit pissy over just because we both adored the more battered and broken down look of Leon in Vendetta. Plus I don’t think my brain could buffer hearing Matt’s voice from a face I associated with Nick thanks to Infinite Darkness.

The villain was meh, he had a really good backstory and means to an end though. Will forever be mad at Capcom for not giving Jill or Claire newer outfits. Plus we never got the closure between Claire and Leon to see just why or how they found it in them to work together after what Leon did in Infinite Darkness.

I know this is a whole lot of negativity but I did enjoy the movie, really I did. It just lacked in a few areas that had my poor baby heart hurting, and was so much less than what I was expecting which probably sounds really bad. But I just feel like this movie had a lot more potential than it was actually given, and was instead used to cram-pack a bunch of ‘Look! They’re all doing it together!’ moments in instead of focusing on plot and pacing.
