i could post like. serious thoughts on Why Windows Is Really Bad. but unfortunately i do understand why its kind of the only option for a lot of people (unless you have one william billiam dollars to spend on a mac). so [shrug] if you ever have old hardware maybe consider putting linux on it just to play around and learn how to interact with computers in a different way, its really fun i promise!

after about one entire year of daily driving arch-based distros, I finally had a go at installing arch itself :3

OH, in other news I finally got genshin running on linux with no graphical issues. It was annoying- I really hope mihoyo considers official linux support once windows 10 reaches end of life in october- but that means I'm no longer tied to windows 10 myself \o/ good riddance

my entire issue was that i wasnt Reading The Fucking Manual(s for the thing(s) I'm trying to install)

That was genuinely great, once I got past setting up Grub it was smooth sailing

and not manjaro, because manjaro sucks.

ps: also is there a way i can smuggle some sh file onto an arch iso, so i don't have to type it all by hand?

fuckin hate when people say the software thay're promoting is "available for PC and mobile" but they really mean "available for windows 10/11 x86, iOS, and android"

there's more than 3 fucking operating systems.

are devices running linux not PCs?

what about Macs?

How about KalibriOS? do you support that?

And HarmonyOS? that has roughly the same market share on mobile that linux does on desktop.

can it run on ARM or RISC-V?

if it does support linux, what package managers can you install it with?

Ok so like I get why a lot of people want to use Ubuntu or mint over Debian, as a more like “user friendly” option or whatever but like

I do not understand manjaro. Like… just use archinstall with kde and it’s the same! AND you get to say you use arch!! Am I stupid or like……. That’s the only difference right, is manjaro has a worse logo and gui installer?? If I was gonna install Linux for someone that didn’t want to learn Linux it’d probably be like popos or kubuntu (or suse if they had good opinions) because they absolutely will not care that pacman is the best package manager and will give 0 fucks about the AUR and just want to use an App Store or double click an installer on top of “what do you mean I should update my software every day that sounds terrible”
