Last night I watched "Io capitano", a film that it's in my watchlist since September. I had my first cry of 2024... it broke my heart, made me feel sad, made me so angry for the injustice of this friking world, made me think again about the privilige of being born in the "right" world and the fact if I want to change country to study, work, live or whatever I can, but others can't. it made me think about politicians and their hateful racist talking and made my blood boil like how can you be like this? How? Devi proprio far schifo come persona.
It's a film that everyone should watch and think about, this is not fiction and probably just a little part of what people lived and are living.
I read that it was nominated at the Oscars and read also comments that I wish I didnt but ok.
I hope it will have the recognition it deserves.

Forgotten Fraternity
The tragedy of this era is that we have forgotten fraternity. We are prisoners of individualism, making us increasingly fearful, angry, and competitive. There is a connection between the suffering of migrants in Libyan camps and the pain of those oppressed by social injustice in Italy, including university students who lack access to the right to housing, exploited workers, people facing discrimination based on their sexual or gender identity, those who bear the brunt of ecological catastrophe, and so on. All of this is the result of a sick society that has forgotten fraternity.

I just watched the movie Io Capitano by Matteo Garrone. I totally recommend it. It's a fictional story, but inspired closely by the real experience of people who try to reach Europe from Africa and fell prey of the system of exploitation of migrants and the Libyan mafia. It's not an easy movie to watch, but it's an important movie for sure.
(Yes, Garrone is the director of Gomorrah, the movie that became Goncharov on those shoes, whose name became Matteo JWHJ0715).
