A/N- tried my best with the smut, but if it isn't great I apologize!
GENDER: Female Reader
WARNINGS: Hybrids, need proofing, inappropriate language, 18+ content, heat, oral (female receiving), 69, breeding, lactation, polyamorous (foursome), dub con, praise, overstim, fingering, penatration, tummy inflation, squirting and scissoring.
CHARACTERS: Uzui Tengen, Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru
DESCRIPTION: Arriving at your aunt's farm for the summer, you were acquainted with her hybrids. Though you particularly bonded with her holstaurs—summer was only going to get more heated from there.
WORD COUNT: 1.8k

Immediately stepping from the car, your skin was doused with the sultry afternoon sun. Driblets of your sweat had lured the insects to you, irritating you with their humming wings and pinching bites. You swat the bugs from your face, eyeing the acres of farmland and breathing the country smells in—a long summer for sure.
Feet pounding heavily against the dirt ground drew your attention, your body whirls around. You smiled seeing your aunt running towards you, her arms open wide.
"Y/N!" She exulted, thrusting herself into your arms.
"Aunt Kei," you beamed, "how have you been?"
"I've been alright, but now that you've arrived I'm better." She hummed, removing herself from the embrace. "I've just been stressed with the farm, I would've lost it if you didn't come."
"Good thing that I did, and willing to give you a hand!"
"You're a darling," Kei sighed, "I'll show you around the farm after we get your luggage put away."
༻༺
You gaped at the dragons hauling bulky crates to the loading docks, a droplet of sweat scarce on their skin.
"The dragons, shinjuro rengoku and his two sons. They, and along with the orcs, help with lifting the heavy loads around the farm. They don't need much handling, besides feeding them and requesting material for their nest, they are rather self-reliant!"
Wandering about the farm, Kei informs you about the creatures and how to manage them and their necessities. She continues along towards the large barn, enlightening you about the holstaurs, as you trailed behind her.
"Lastly, the holstaurs. four of em', one bull and three cows. They need their hay renewed every seventh day, though they keep their stall pretty clean themselves, and the cows need to be milked twice a day—morning and evening."
You hummed in acknowledgement as the both you let yourselves in the barn, catching the attention of the brawny bull. His fuchsia eyes lingered on you before settling on Kei, grinning. "How can I help you, Kei?"
"Tengen, I want you and your mates to meet my niece. She'll be staying here for the summer, helping me around the farm."
"Uzui Tengen, It's nice to meet you. My girls Hinatsuru, Makio, and Suma are out in the field right now but they should be back any minute. I'm sure they'll be glad to meet you!"
"I'm Y/N, it's nice to meet you too!" You smiled, holding your hand out.
His hand grasped yours and abruptly snatched you into a hug.
"Don't be shy, I only nibble." He teased, winking.
You chuckled, patting his back, before he released you.
The barn doors burst open, a crying Suma rushing in followed by an irritated Makio and placid Hinatsuru. Their rambles and actions halted as their eyes caught sight of you, examining you curiously.
"Who are you?" Suma sniffed, her lips quivering.
"This is Y/N, Kei's niece. She'll be some assistance to the farm for the summer," Tengen explained, "so behave girls."
You could say they didn't…
On the second week of you residing on the farm, the holstaurs seemed needy. Their behavior and actions became peculiar, particularly the girls; they forced their swollen breasts into your flushed face as they grind against you, whining.
Tengen on the other hand forbade you to be around other males, puffing out his chest as he growled and his hooves stumped against the ground at them, no matter how much you explained to him that this was your job.
Today you thought no different as you garnered up any motivation for the morning, carrying on with your morning routine before running along to do your chores.
The farm was bare, lacking numerous of its inhabitants, as you sluggishly dragged yourself to the barn.
Tengen and the girls consumed your nightly hours attempting to persuade you to stay in the stall for the night, which you denied which escalated into a fit of pleas. Not just from Suma but Hinatsuru and Makio too, until Tengen scolded them for it—giving you less sleep.
'Where is everyone?' You contemplated, scouring the fields and the nearby pond.
You shrug and open the doors, instantly your nose crinkles at the thick-musky air and your ears apprehend the resonating slick smacking and muffled whimpers.
Your brows furrowed and you edged near their stall, "is everything alright?"
You regretted those words.
Suddenly, you were snatched into the stall by Suma. Her hands feverishly caressing your body, shoving the straps of your overalls from your shoulders and tugging your t-shirt from your body. Her head nudged into your nape with soft whine, her warm tongue poked from her pouty lips and traced over your skin. You felt nauseated at the rapid movements, and tried to slip from her grip.
"Suma, wait!" You squeaked, flinching at the sensation.
"Can't, need you so bad." She murmured, nibbling at your neck.
Suma grasps your overalls, yanking them to the floor with your panties. You gasp as her face buried between your soft thighs, your hands tangling into her hair to steady yourself. You stumbled back, falling to your bottom. Your frantic eyes glanced behind Suma, who found herself back between your thighs, watching as Tengen's dick plunged into a dazed Hina—this shouldn't be exciting you.
You squirmed, your breath hitching, as Suma left kitten licks on your throbbing slit. She groaned, licking her lips, and pulled away. She climbs atop of you, sloppily kissing you, before swinging her legs to position you between them. Her sopping pussy grinding against your lips, smothering you with her bodily fluids.
'Fuck it.'
Your fingers dug into her plush thighs, giving a testing stroke of your tongue before it slithered past her folds and circling her sensitive nub. You lapped at her clit, altering between rubbing and sucking it. She cried out, grounding her hips against your opened mouth and she squirted.
Suma's fingers graze over your dewy lips, pressing the tips of her fingers into you. You whimpered against her, rolling your hips. All the disinterested thoughts of them were gone, you wanted this. She worked her fingers into you gently, a second finger joining the first.
You mouth against cunt and slurped up her juices, your tongue prodding her hole and caressing her velvety walls. She mewled as her ministrations quickened, curling her fingers into your g-spot continuously. You choked out at a moan, the heated pressure in your stomach bursting—oxytocin and dopamine clouding your mind.
"You felt so good, Y/N." Suma keened, slipping her fingers out and into her mouth. "Mmm,,,"
"Move, Suma!" Makio huffed, shoving Suma from you and replacing her spot above you.
You leaned up, pressing a kiss onto her redden-plump lips, trailing down to her full breast. You reached your hand up to one of her tits, fondling the flesh, before taking her nipple into your mouth.
"Are you thirsty, Y/N?" Makio chuckled, intertwining your legs together. Her cunt smushed against yours, rubbing with breathy moans.
You suckled at her teat hungrily, milk pouring into your mouth and bloating your stomach—you felt so full, but yet you felt so good.
Her pussy rubbed a certain way that made you buck your hips back into her with a drawled-out whine, "faster."
"So good—fuck—." Makio grunted, her strokes hastening.
Your teeth skimming over her mammilla before switching to the other boob, that familiar pressure increasing in the pit of your stomach. Makio stills, her hips snapping to yours as she orgasmed, smashing her lips into yours. She slowly rolled her hips into you, before she drew away from you.
"Wait-"
"Shh," Tengen hushed you, "my girls are so needy."
He slots himself between your legs, his dick prodding your fatten pussy, and kissing your lips. He slowly edges himself into your slickness, praising you with each inch of his girth until he was fully sheathed into you.
"Gripping me so fucking tight." He panted, his fingers leaving purplish bruises on your hips. "Mhm, gonna breed you so well. Fill up with my cum until it takes."
You agreed without even thinking, wanting nothing more for him to fuck you senseless. "please."
Tengen smirked down at you, "please what?"
Your face flushes from embarrassment and lust, tears beading at corners of your eyes.
"If you don't tell me what you want, how am I supposed to help?" Tengen teased, ever so slowly dragging his cock along your cushioned walls.
"Please make me cum, fuck me until I'm a sobbing mess." You begged, your voice faltering with desperation.
Your words tickled his ego so well, "since you asked so nicely."
He pulled back, his leaking tip kept in the warmth of you cunny, before impaling himself repeatedly at animalistic pace.
"Sucking me in so deliciously." Tengen snarled, his dick bumping your cervix.
He pushes you into a mating press, angling himself to hit the spongy wall that made you squeal with ecstasy. Your nails scratched at his arm, rolling your head back. "R-right there."
"You can't leave me, you're mine. You're ours, you belong to us!" He grunted, kneading at your tits and rolling his thumb over your pebbled nip.
"All yours," you breathed.
Everything felt numb, a pleasurable numb as liquid arousal spurt from your cunt—spasming.
Tengen hummed, grinning, speeding his pace up.
"So close, Y/N" he signed, his head hanging and his jaw jutting.
You sobbed loudly, overstimulated. "No more."
He groans lowly as his hot seed floods you, ballooning your stomach even more.
Tengen stares half-liddedly at you, his cock still buried into your heat, and snuggled himself into your chest with a pleased hum.
Hinatsuru crawled beside you, her hand brushing strands of hair from your sweaty forehead, and kissing you tenderly. Makio and Suma follow in suit, whispering their comforting words and cuddling close.
“I hope you enjoyed that as much as we did.” Tengen murmured, caressing your sore hips.
"I did," you chuckled softly.
"Please don't leave after summer is up." Suma whimpered, a sweet little cry leaving her as she nuzzled into you.
"I'll have to speak with my aunt."
༻༺
You stepped into the house, closing the door behind you, and greeted your aunt.
"You look rough," Kei winced at your appearance, "did they give you a hard time with milking them?"
You wanted to laugh, but you were too worn out to rally up the energy to do so. "Yeah, uhm, i'm just going to go take a nap but first I was wondering if I can move in with you. I could help you year around with your farm and the holstaurs, you said you needed all the help you could get and I'm eager to help!"
"You must like it here, I'm fine with it." Kei smiled, agreeing.
"I do, thank you!"
"Your welcome, darling."
You trudge up the stairs to your room, taking a shower before you laid down—all milked out.

Mushroom Logs
[psstt.. @threadednovelist here is the post I was talking about making!]
So the 1.6 Update has kinda put a wrench in my "The Mushroom Cave is better than the Fruit Bat Cave" argument since my biggest contender for picking the Mushroom Cave was that Fruit Trees and the Greenhouse make the cave obsolete but... well... the mushroom logs are essentially that same arguement but in reverse.
I will be covering the following in this post:
What are mushroom logs?
How do we get mushroom logs
I will be starting a completely new save* to test this, so I will be starting from scratch. I am also taking an approach of grinding away for specifically the mushroom logs, so the time in which you get yours will more than likely be different than mine, as well the number of everything you are able to get within a year, but that's totally fine and not something to be incredibly worried about as this is a run tailored for these and not just your normal, casual, play style.
I will be relaying my very basic progress through text here, but I will also be recording and uploading a video on this that will be linked at the end of this post so if you'd like to watch and see everything that I do you will be able to!
Divider Credit
*For transparency this save will have two mods applied to it: UI Info Suite 2 and Experience Bars.
What are Mushroom Logs?
Mushroom logs are an item that was added to the game in the 1.6 update. Mushroom Logs produce every four days normally, however if you have a rainy day within that period the amount of time is reduced.
The game searches for the number of trees in a 7x7 area around the mushroom logs. You are able to get five of the six mushroom types from the logs [Chanterelle, Common Mushroom, Morel, Red Mushroom and Purple Mushroom] and you are able to get 1-5 mushrooms from each log depending on the amount of wild (non-fruit) trees around them.
There is a list of possible mushrooms that the game creates based on the trees within the 7x7 area around the mushroom log, and what is produced is chosen randomly off of that list. The mushrooms that are normally added to the list are Common Mushrooms (81% chance), Red Mushrooms (14% chance), and Purple Mushrooms (5%) chance. This makes it impossible for you to make a mushroom log produce a certain type of mushroom as every tree adds these to the list.
Oak Trees add the chance for Morel Mushrooms to be produced. Pine Trees add the chance for Chanterelle Mushrooms to be produced. Maple Trees have a 10% chance to give a Purple Mushroom and a 90% chance to give a Red Mushroom. Mystic Trees increase the chance for Purple Mushrooms to be produced.
Mushrooms can be any quality, and is not affected by the Botanist Profession. Quality is calculated based on the number of nearby trees and how many of them have moss on them. A normal tree is counted one, a tree with moss is counted twice. The number the game gets is then divided by 40 and the solution is the chance used for quality upgrade.
Mushroom logs also provide 5xp per harvest no matter the amount of mushrooms harvested.
Tumblr media
How do we get Mushroom Logs?
The recipie for Mushroom Logs are unlocked once you reach foraging level 4, and you are able to craft it with 10 hardwood and 10 moss.
Now to reach Foraging Level 4 you will need a total of 1,300xp points towards Foraging.
You get 12XP for chopping down a tree. 1XP for removing the stump. 1XP for every piece of moss harvested off of a tree. 1XP per berry when shaking a salmonberry or blackberry bush. 25XP for removing Large Stumps or Large Logs. 7XP for every foraged item picked up. 3XP Per spring onion harvested 2XP for items growing from season-specific wild seeds (Summer Seeds, for example) 5XP from either the Mushroom Logs or Mushroom Cave
To get your hardwood you'll need at minimum 5 copper bars and 2,000g so you are able to take down large stumps.
With a copper axe, which costs 5 Copper Bars (25 copper ore) and 2,000g to gain, you are able to chop down large stumps which you can find on the farm but they do not respawn if you are on the Standard Farm. You can also find them in the Secret Woods, where they do respawn, but you'll need to either glitch into the woods or get a steel axe. With a steel axe, with costs 5 Iron Bars (25 iron ore) and 5,000g on top of what is needed for a copper axe to get, you are able to chop down large logs, one of which blocks your way into the secret woods. These do not respawn. Large Stump gives 2 hardwood. Large Log gives 8 hardwood.
Moss grows on trees, and it's random when they will. You can also get moss from the trees that spawn during the Green Rain, though the Green Rain happens on one day randomly in Summer. Day 5, 6, 7, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 23 are one of the random days in which green rain can happen.
Tumblr media
Gameplay
1hr 15min in on Spring Day 15 got the mushroom log recipie 1hr25min in on Summer Day 14 got green rain, Same day made 3 mushroom logs 1hr42min in on Fall day 3 made 1 more mushroom log
I didn't make any more mushrooms logs and instead focused soley on harvesting them.

IAD Hero Power Rankings: Part... V?
Almost forgot that a new sexy babe entered the villa and took over today!!!
Rydstrom Woede, demon (king), Kiss of a Demon King
Pros:
--called Sabine a "good girl" even when she's actually being a bad girl
--is explicitly a dom
--the first time he smiles is after she flips him off
--is into spanking
--takes Sabine to a bar and everyone leaves the bar because she's evil and he's all "awwww baby I don't understand why they don't like you :(" when she's committed, like, war crimes... down ridiculous...
--his big comeback to his enemy is like "lmao well I'm about to make your girl's eyes roll back in her head SOOOOOOO EAT IT CUCK"
--has two elaborate fantasies in this novel: a) suspending Sabine from the ceiling and edging her until he lets her grind against his face B) watching Sabine cuddle their cute baby. The duality of demon king
Cons:
--I mean I guess he did some pretttttyyyyy dubious shit to Sabine, but only after she did them to him
--met a woman and became her friend and talked to her for days and literally didn't remember fucking her once until she reminded him.... I thought it was funny
--that time he went at Sabine's tits for so long that the next day she was all "THEY HURT SO BAD" so I assume he was like a newborn baby or something
--"I don't have any fetishes!!!!" has every fetish known to man
--was so down ridiculous that he went to try and kill himself to save her... this is a pro... but I'm gonna pretend it's a con
--is pretty hard on Cade who was just trying!!! his!!! best!!!!!!!!!! but again this is only mildly a con because his disappointed dad thing is hot
2. Conrad Wroth, vampire, Dark Needs at Night’s Edge
Pros:
–exceedingly good at removing obstacles between him and what he wants
–a virgin and SUPER embarrassed about it in a way that is INCREDIBLY precious (when he finally fucked this woman and went “So I was good?” I almost fucking wept)
–murder puppy only wants death and blood (until he discovers………… other things)
–a natural born dirty talker
–BABY BOY…. BABY BOY…./EVIL
Cons:
–has erectile dysfunction for a significant part of his book, he gets better but I was so sad for him
–I mean, is fully insane and wants to murder his entire family, but nobody’s perfect and Nikolai kinda deserves it
–wears sunglasses indoors
–got aroused while buying underwear for her and had to limp home
–made Bowen MacRrieve sad and that makes me really upset because I love Bowen MacRieve
3. Bowen MacRieve, werewolf, Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night
Pros:
–is a werewolf general
–was celibate for 1200 years after his lover got so scared of his wolf form that she gored herself on a tree stump (lmao)
–spent those 1200 years trying to bring her back to life
–great at catching and preparing seafood
–breeding kink (wants to put all the bairns in Mariketa)
–kinda into bondage…?
–gets hard at the thought of Mariketa’s carnage, even when he is the carnage
–update pro: gets sent to a party by himself so that Mariketa can run an errand and just sits there confused and miserable at the bar by himself waiting for her to show up even though he knows people there; I imagine this is much like that SNL skit about a dog park for boyfriends, where the shy boyfriend hides under a picnic table
Cons:
–kind of a fuckboy (will say his dead lover’s name when he comes, ONE TIME, but “Mariketa” and “Mariah” begin similarly so)
–doesn’t like it when Mariketa chant incantations into her mirror because it creeps him out
–breeding kink (casually tries to get her to stop taking birth control)
–makes fun of Mariketa’s vibrator, even if I found that actually hilarious
4. Lachlain MacRieve, werewolf, A Hunger Like No Other
Pros:
–chewed his own leg off to get to Emma, pinned her to the ground in broad daylight, and inhaled her neck like a fucking FREAK
–actually pretty good at being the werewolf king (saves Bowen from his own stupidity multiple times, much daddy, very authoritative)
–saw Emma kill her own dad and basically swooned
–is absolutely down to get his blood sucked… through his penis (I believe he says that’s the only way he’ll accept BJs now…?)
–gets by on missing 150 years of progression purely on intimidation, which I personally find deeply sexy
Cons:
–I mean yes Lachlain is one of the rape-iest IAD heroes even if most of that was werewolf instinct and burning alive for 150 years
–doesn’t know how to use an iPod
–but will max out your credit cards
–a werewolf supremacist (is this a bad thing…?)
–says “Kiss me like you want to live” which I guess I should put as a con because it’s non-consensual but whatever I was dow–
5. Cadeon Woede/“Cade the Kingmaker”, demon, Dark Desires After Dusk
Pros:
–extremely loyal to his brother (which I found cute)
–orders ahead to get pre-packaged food for Holly to accommodate her OCD, while helping her Walk on the Wild Side
–was the first guy to 69 with his heroine in this series
–stalked Holly for like a year (stalking is love)
–gets adorably tongue-tied around her, but not in a lame way
Cons:
–lied to Holly for like… that entire book lmao (even though it was fun)
–is called the Womb Raider for a reason, apparently (a little tooooo potent)
–sort of fucks with Holly’s birth control, in the sense that he made sure she was super fertile, but to be fair Holly did not… actually… take birth control
–threw out Holly’s OCD meds, though I chalk this up to the year the book was published
–just sort of drove around giving Holly head for WEEKS while Rydstrom was getting sexually tortured, so like…. maybe doesn’t have GREAT priorities…. maybe has the best priorities… Rydstrom was fine…
6. Nikolai Wroth, vampire, The Warlord Wants Forever
Pros:
–deeply efficient and good at his job (being a bloodthirsty warlord), which turns his mate on as much as it should literally everyone else
–scars all over
–very family-oriented, which means he’s extreeeeemely daddy, and very much uses that in the bedroom
–will try to make nice with your bitchy sisters for you
–is receptive to therapy, even if the therapist was his beaten and bruised brother whose advice was basically “do better”
Cons:
–did steal Myst’s chain and used it to make her come on command; which, while I liked it, was very much non-consensual
–insecure about Myst’s history as the greatest femme fatale of the last couple millennia (though he gets better and decides to be a sex-positive feminist)
–that time that he turned his little brothers into vampires against their will
–was so down bad that he literally started to waste away when Myst didn’t let him get off for five years
–does not properly heat his manor
7. Sebastian Wroth, vampire, No Rest for the Wicked
Pros:
–basically a virgin when he meets Kaderin
–Gentleman in the Streets Freak in That Random Nightclub Where He SNAPS
–joined the mile high club remarkably fast
–throws out all his principles for her
–Speaks Like Dracula but in a “I vant to suck your clit” way
Cons:
–borderline beta, or as beta as a murderous centuries old vampire warlord can be
–a little tooooo accommodating of Kaderin’s bullshit
–could have been more demanding, to be honest (Bowen and Lachlain would noooot have been as patient as he was, which some would like but I was a little weary of)

The Knight of the Cart: Chamillane Re-Write
For a final in one of my classes, I re-wrote a small portion of "The Knight of the Cart" (Chrétien de Troyes version)— with the characters and setting of Chamillane. It's definitely off the path of my usual writing, but I've had a few people tell me that I should post this sort of thing here more often. oAo
I directly referenced every line to the Chrétien de Troyes story. Some parts are added, removed, or altered to suit the changes the re-write involved, but the overall writing style is meant to mimic that of the original translation. The two scenes involved are the cart scene (where Lancelot's hesitation to ride in a shameful cart damns him later in his journey) and the first battle between Lancelot and Meleagant, both with my own characters inserted and a few Chamillane-unique twists added.
. . .
Flavien chased after the knight. He finds Sylvain, the Queen’s guard, with his helmet laced and his sword and shield at the ready. The knight stands before a Beast, a Satyr, the most vile and low-born of their kind. Though all Beasts hold the divine rights owed to their birth, Satyrs are known to be deceitful and self-serving, more concerned with lies and games than upholding the honor of their rank.
“Satyr, have you seen the Queen pass this way? In the name of the Saints, tell me the truth, not the trickery of your breed,” the knight says.
The Satyr, perched upon a gnarled, ancient stump thrice as wide as its body, merely smirks. “You pursue a Beast as well, knight, no better than myself. I have indeed seen her pass, but I shan’t tell a meager human where she rode.” It gives no more information than that.
The knight drops to his knees. Casting away his pride, he begs the Satyr to speak.
It stands. Approaching the body of a man slain in battle not long ago, it digs its claws into the bared skin of his flank and tears away a strip of still-warm flesh. “If you seek the Unicorn,” it says, “then prove yourself worthy of her. Eat as the Unicorns do. Prove to me that your heart is true to the Queen, that you love her more than you love what’s righteous and good.”
Unicorns, the rarest and purest of Beasts, are known for cannibalism. To become an adult, a daughter consumes the flesh and blood of her father in a ritual of succession— an act too cruel for humans to comprehend. That barbaric act gives them their power and keeps their numbers few, and Unicorns are known for that above all else. Humans forbid eating the meat of their own kind, however, and any who would try to imitate the divine right of a sacred Beast would be shunned and feared for crossing the boundary between the mortal and the beyond. Any righteous knight would be sickened to taste the blood of his fellow man.
And yet, the knight hesitates before the outstretched hunk of flesh for but two moments before snatching it from the Satyr’s clutches and bringing it to his lips.
He bites down and tears away a slick shred of fatty meat. With blood spilling down his chin, he swallows it, not pausing to so much as grind the flesh between his teeth. A second bite, then one more, and the piece is gone. His hand is empty.
Sylvain would live to regret the moment of hesitation more than even consuming the flesh of his fellow human being, but it was Reason that made him pause. Reason warned him not to cross the boundary between himself and the Beast, but it was Love that drove him to bite, chew, and swallow. Love triumphed over any fear of punishment or disgrace, as he Loved the Queen more than his humanity and more than he feared even death itself. Because Love ordered and wished it, he would do anything for her.
Lord Flavien, watching from aside, found himself nauseated. He was horrified by the sight before him, yet his priority of finding the Queen meant more than the fear and disgust he felt. He approached the Satyr with bold steps and said, “Satyr, if you know anything about the Queen, now tell us.”
The Satyr answered, “If you think as little of your humanity as this knight with blood on his hands, I’ll give you a bite as well, and I’ll tell you what I’ll tell him.”
When Flavien heard this, he thought it was a condition beyond all fairness and said that he would never tread the bounds between human and Beast, for it would be unwise to take a bite of that which was not allowed to him. “But say what you will to this knight who has obeyed you, and I will stand and only listen.”
The Satyr merely grinned.
. . .
Early in the morning, before the sun was fully past the horizon, the two champions were led fully armed and clad in armor to the square where they would be fighting. Rosaire was handsome and crowned with a golden helmet bearing the emblem of his family’s name; his body was strong and his armor bright and well-fitting. And yet, no one could take their eyes from his opponent. Though he was plain in face and his armor modest, the passion in his eyes held the attention of every person in the audience.
As soon as both had reached the center of the square, the king approached and did his best to talk the two men down from their bout. He was again unable to bring his sworn son to reason, though, so he said, “Wait to begin until I have taken my place in the tower. It will not be much trouble to delay that long so I may at least have my view.”
Distressed, he left them and went straight to where he would find the Queen, for she had asked him to be placed somewhere that would allow her a clear view of the victor. He had allowed this, in part because the sight of her sharp-toothed smile had reminded him of the divide between man and Beast, and had wisely decided to do her honor and service. He personally escorted her to a seat before a window while he himself was seated at another, beside and to the right of her. Together with the two of them were many knights, courtly ladies, and maidens of this land. There were also many maidens held captive by Rosaire, in the hopes that their presence would sway the Queen’s heart in favor of their captor.
Then at once the two combatants had the people step back. They seized their shields from their sides and their swords from their belts, and the first blow alone smashed through their opponent’s shield, which broke and splintered like shards of shattered glass. They were both knocked to the ground from the force of it.
But they lept to their feet just as quickly, and without a word spared on the other they rushed together more fiercely than two wild boars. Like hated enemies they struck mighty blows upon each other; as blood rushed out from between the gashed metal of their armor and sweat dripped from their brows. They each withstood the assault with equal steadfastness, such that it was never possible to determine who was in the right. Yet it was inevitable that the knight who had been previously injured in his quest to find the Queen would begin to lose strength in his battered body. Those who prayed for his victory grew afraid, as they saw his blows weakening and feared that he would be defeated and slain.
But watching from the windows of the tower was a clever maiden, who recognized that the knight Sylvain had not undertaken the battle for the sake of anyone watching, or the sake of his own honor or reputation; he would have never agreed to it for any rational reason, but for the sake of the Queen. She thought that if he realized that the Queen was at the window watching him along with all the others, it would give him the strength to win, for his Love would surely overpower the wounds of his flesh. If she could learn his name, she could shout out and call his attention to the tower. So she came to the Queen and said, “For your husband’s sake and your own, my lady, as well as for ours, I beg you to tell me the name of this knight. I may be able to be of some help to him if I know it.”
The Queen smiled. She seemed at peace, unafraid of the knight’s potential loss, as if she had no reason to doubt that his Love would prevail. “In what you have requested, young lady,” replied the Queen, “I perceive no ill intentions. And you know what would befall you should you mislead me. The knight is called Sylvain, and he has been my servant for many years.”
“Thank you, my Queen! May Sylvain come to your rescue with his fullest strength!” exclaimed the girl. Then she rushed forward and shouted to him, in a voice that could be heard across the square, “Sylvain! Turn around to see who is watching you!”
When Sylvain heard his name, he turned at once and saw above him, seated before one of the tower’s great windows, that person whom he desired to see with every ounce of the flesh of his being, more than anyone in the whole world. From the moment he beheld the Unicorn, the Queen, her flaxen locks and silvery gaze, he began to defend himself from behind so he would not have to turn or divert his eyes from her. Rosaire pursued him with great eagerness, elated to think that now he had him distracted and defenseless. Though his aim now lacked chivalry, desiring an easy win over the knight, Rosaire was more concerned with winning than with how he went about it.
Then the girl shouted again from the window: “Ah! Sylvain! What could make you behave so foolishly? Once you were the incarnation of all valor and strength, and I don’t believe that a champion of the Queen could ever be matched in bravery. Yet now we see you so distracted that you’re blocking blows from behind you, and fighting with your back turned to the one who wants your blood. Turn around and come over here where you can keep the tower in sight, for seeing it will bring you the courage to win.”
Sylvain was shamed and vexed and despised himself because he well knew that he’d been making a fool of himself before the Queen— getting the worst of the fight even when all watching knew that he could do better. Thus, he maneuvered himself behind his enemy, forcing Rosaire to fight with himself between Sylvain and the tower. Rosaire struggled mightily to reverse their positions once again, but Sylvain didn’t let him budge even an inch, striking so powerfully that he was left staggering and struggling to hold his balance with each mighty hit. Sylvain’s strength and courage grew because Love aided him, and because he had never hated anyone as much as this opponent who would dare to force his power upon the Queen. Love and Hatred, set alight by everything he had risked so far for her sake, made him so bold and courageous that Rosaire realized he was in danger, at last, and began to fear him exceedingly. Rosaire had never faced an opponent such as this, nor had any knight ever before injured him like this, where he feared for his mortal wellbeing. He stepped back and tried to dodge the blows.
Sylvain did not waste any words upon him, but drove him back with his sword toward the tower where the Queen was seated, until he had driven him in so close that he had to desist for he would have been unable to see her, had he advanced a step farther. Thus it continued, Sylvain driving him back and forth at will, as a mighty Manticore (as was the King) would toy with its prey, stopping each time before his lady the Queen who had so entranced his heart that he gazed upon her continually, paying little mind to his struggling adversary. He was filled with such determination that he could pursue Rosaire anywhere he pleased, mercilessly, as if he himself had become a Beast beyond human resistance.
The king Alixandre, seeing his sworn son now unable to defend himself, took pity on him. He sought to save him, but the only way he could think to do this was to implore the Queen. “My lady,” he began, “I have always served and honored you while you have been in my care, and treated you with the respect your mighty birth is owed. Now I wish to be repaid. I see that my son is quickly getting the worst of this battle; I don’t come to you because I regret to see his defeat, nor because I wish for his victory. I only ask that Sylvain, who has the power to do so, will not kill him. Although he deserves death for having so wronged both you and your knight, I beg of you to find the mercy to have him spared. As one who is so far above us all, I ask you to tell Sylvain to refrain from slaying him. Thus you might repay my service, if you see fit.”
“Fair sir, because you request it, I wish it so,” replied the Queen. “I feel no hatred for your son, though he has committed a grave sin against my blood. You have served me well, and because it pleases you, I wish Sylvain to restrain himself.”
These words, which had not been spoken in a whisper, were overheard by Sylvain and Rosaire. One who loves totally is ever obedient and willingly and completely does whatever might please his love. Thus Sylvain, who loved enough to cast aside his mortal flesh and fear of that above him, to take into his mouth the flesh of his fellow man, must do her bidding. No sooner had the last word slipped from between her mighty teeth than nothing could have made Sylvain touch Rosaire or made any move to harm him, even for the sake of defending himself. He did not move or attack him again, nor even raise his sword to guard his own body, but Rosaire, shamed and out of his mind with rage at hearing he had sunk so low that his sworn father had to intervene, regained his assault.
The king hurried down from the tower to reproach him. He stepped into the fray and shouted to the man who he claimed as his son: “How dare you strike him when he doesn’t touch you! When he is bidden by the command of a Beast! You are unspeakably cruel and savage, and your disrespect condemns you. Everyone here knows for certain that you have lost.”
Beside himself with shame, Rosaire said to the king, “You must be a fool! The Unicorn ordered him to lose. Clearly, she believes me worthy to win— anyone’s blind who would argue!”
“Then find someone who believes you,” said the king. “All these people know full well whether you’re lying or speaking the truth. The Queen spoke to save you, not because she believes you worthy. We know the truth.” Then the king ordered his men to restrain his son. They did his bidding and pulled Rosaire away, but no one had to so much as lay a hand on Sylvain, for Rosaire could have cut him to the bone before he would ever have touched him. Then the king said to his son, “In deference to the Unicorn and her champion, now you must make peace and hand over the Queen! You must call an end to this whole dispute.”

DIY Tree Care vs. Professional Tree Surgeons in Weybridge: What’s Best for Your Garden?
Keeping your garden beautiful and healthy often requires tree care. Whether it’s trimming branches, removing a tree, or dealing with storm damage, trees need attention. But when it comes to tree care, should you do it yourself, or is it better to hire a professional tree surgeon? In this article, we’ll compare DIY tree care with hiring professional Tree surgeons Surbiton, Weybridge, Cobham, Esher, and  Oxshott.
Let’s look at the benefits and risks of both options so you can make the best choice for your garden.
Tumblr media
Taking care of trees yourself can seem like a good idea, especially if you’re looking to save some money. For small jobs like pruning branches, many people feel confident doing it themselves. However, before you grab your tools, let’s explore the advantages and disadvantages.
Pros of DIY Tree Care:
Saves Money: The biggest reason people choose DIY is to avoid paying for professional help. If you already have the tools, you can handle minor tasks without any extra cost.
Quick Fixes: With DIY, you don’t have to wait for someone to come to your house. You can act immediately when a small tree issue comes up.
Personal Satisfaction: Many garden enthusiasts enjoy working outdoors. If you love taking care of your garden, DIY tree care can be rewarding.
Cons of DIY Tree Care:
Lack of Knowledge: Trees can suffer from diseases or structural problems that aren’t easy to spot. Without the right expertise, you may not notice these issues or know how to treat them.
Safety Risks: Trimming large branches, using ladders, or handling heavy equipment like chainsaws can be dangerous. There’s a risk of injury or damaging your property if things go wrong.
Limited Tools: Professional tree surgeons have special tools to handle tasks like removing large trees or grinding stumps. Most homeowners don’t have access to this equipment.
Legal Restrictions: In some areas like Cobham or Surbiton, certain trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). You need permission to cut down or prune these trees. Breaking these rules could lead to fines.
Why Hire Professional Tree Surgeons in Weybridge?
Hiring a professional tree surgeons weybridge has many benefits. They bring knowledge, skills, and the right tools to handle any tree care task. Here are some reasons why calling in a professional can be a better choice.
Expertise and Experience
Professional tree surgeons know how to care for trees safely and effectively. They have years of experience dealing with all kinds of tree problems, such as disease, decay, or storm damage. They can spot issues you might miss and give you expert advice on how to keep your trees healthy.
Right Tools for the Job
Professional tree surgeons use specialized equipment like cranes, harnesses, and stump grinders. This allows them to handle complex jobs that would be difficult or dangerous for you to attempt on your own.
Safety First
Tree work can be risky, especially when dealing with large trees or working at heights. Tree surgeons are trained to follow strict safety procedures, reducing the chance of accidents. They also have insurance in case something goes wrong.
Legal Compliance
In some areas like Esher, Oxshott, or Surbiton, you may need permission to cut or trim certain trees, especially if they’re protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). A professional tree surgeons in esher knows the local laws and can handle all the paperwork, so you stay compliant.
Long-Term Health of Your Trees
While DIY tree care might fix a short-term problem, professional tree surgeons focus on the long-term health of your trees. They use techniques that promote healthy growth and prevent future issues. This can save you money in the long run, as healthy trees are less likely to cause problems like falling branches or disease.
When Should You Call a Professional Tree Surgeon?
Although you can handle small tasks like trimming a few branches, some situations call for professional help. Here’s when it’s best to hire a tree surgeon:
Large Tree Removal: If you have a large tree that needs to be removed, especially if it’s near your home or power lines, call a professional. This job is dangerous and requires special equipment.
Signs of Disease or Decay: If your tree shows signs of illness like discolored leaves, dead branches, or a hollow trunk, a tree surgeon can assess the problem and recommend the best solution.
Storm Damage: After a storm, trees may be damaged or pose a safety hazard. Tree surgeons Oxshott can safely handle this kind of work and prevent further damage.
Legal Restrictions: If you live in areas like Oxshott or Surbiton, and your trees are protected by a TPO, a tree surgeon can help you navigate the regulations and get the necessary permissions.
Conclusion: Should You DIY or Hire a Professional Tree Surgeon?
While DIY tree care can be tempting, it’s important to weigh the risks and benefits. For small, simple tasks, DIY might work fine. But for larger or more complex jobs, it’s usually best to hire a professional tree surgeon in Cobham, Weybridge, Esher, Oxshott, or Surbiton.
Professional tree surgeons bring expertise, safety, and the right tools to the job. They ensure that your trees stay healthy and your garden remains safe and beautiful. If you’re not sure what your tree needs, it’s always a good idea to get expert advice. A professional tree surgeon can give your garden the care it deserves, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing the job is done right.
This simple and detailed article covers the pros and cons of DIY tree care and the benefits of hiring professional tree surgeons while including the key terms like Tree surgeons Weybridge, Tree surgeons Cobham, Tree surgeons Esher, Tree surgeons Oxshott, and Tree surgeons Surbiton naturally.

Stump Removal Methods
If you have an old tree stump in your yard, it’s a real eyesore and can take up space that could be better used for something else. Stumps also attract insects, which can spread to other parts of the yard. Removing a stump takes more time and effort than simply cutting down the remaining tree, but there are several ways to get the job done. Some methods involve digging up the stump and its roots, while others use chemicals or fire to speed up the natural rotting process. The best method depends on your preferences, budget and the amount of work you want to put in. Digging up the stump and its root system is a labor-intensive task that requires a shovel, mattock and axe or a stump grinder with attachments. You’ll also need a hose to wash away dirt and loosened roots as you go. For large stumps, a backhoe is often required. If you choose to do this yourself, follow safety precautions and use proper tools and equipment like protective clothing, earplugs and steel-toe boots. The ground underneath the stump will be disturbed, and you’ll need to fill in the hole left by the stump to prevent regrowth. Chemical stump removal uses substances to break down wood fibers and speed up decomposition. One popular option is potassium nitrate, which you pour into holes drilled into the stump. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application. As the chemical soaks into the stump, it softens the wood, making it easier to chip away with a saw or ax. This method can be costly and time consuming, as it takes 4-6 weeks for the chemical to work fully. Burning the stump is another effective, but messy, option. It reduces the risk of regrowth and can be done with a fire pit or a gas-powered stump burner. If you choose to burn the stump, wear a face mask and safety goggles and follow all safety precautions. Soaking the stump in boiling water is a more natural, but slower, way to encourage decomposition. The scalding water softens the fibers of the wood, which makes it more amenable to natural breakdown. This technique is simple and inexpensive, but it may not be practical if the stump is located in a location that is difficult to reach with a garden hose. The best way to remove a stump is to grind it, which is fast, affordable and effective. It’s also quick and minimizes the chance of regrowth, so you can plant over it immediately. If you opt for physical removal, be sure to wear protective gear and use tools like a shovel, ax or stump grinder and a mattock to dig around the stump and cut off any remaining roots. A professional can do this quickly and efficiently, leaving you with a clean area for your next landscaping project. via https://litchfieldtreeservices1.wordpress.com/2024/09/18/stump-removal-methods/

1. Research and Reputation:
Online Reviews and Ratings: Start your research by scouring online review platforms like Google My Business, Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). 2. Experience and Expertise:
Years in Business: Land clearing requires specialized skills and equipment. Opt for companies with a proven track record in the industry. Look for companies established for several years, indicating experience handling diverse land clearing projects.
Specific Expertise: Different land clearing projects have varying complexities. While some might involve basic brush removal, others might necessitate meticulous tree removal with minimal disruption to the surrounding landscape. Clearly define your project requirements and seek a company that demonstrably specializes in projects similar to yours.
3. Communication and Transparency:
Initial Contact: Evaluate the company’s responsiveness during initial contact. A prompt reply to your inquiry, whether via phone call, email, or online form, demonstrates their commitment to customer service.

Be wary of companies offering vague or excessively low quotes, as these might indicate hidden fees or a lack of thorough planning.
4. Insurance and Safety:
General Liability and Workers’ Compensation Insurance: Ensure the company carries adequate general liability insurance to cover any potential property damage during the land clearing process. Workers’ compensation insurance safeguards both the company’s employees and you, the homeowner, in case of accidents.
Safety Procedures: Inquire about the company’s safety protocols. Reputable businesses prioritize the safety of their workers and the surrounding environment. we should implement safe work practices and possess the necessary permits if your project involves hazardous materials or protected wildlife.
5. References and Warranties:
Request References: Don’t hesitate to ask for references from past clients. Contacting a few can provide valuable insights into the company’s work ethic, quality of service, and ability to meet deadlines.
Warranty on Services: Inquire if the company offers a warranty on their services. A warranty demonstrates confidence in the quality of their work and provides you with some recourse if unexpected issues arise after the project is completed.
Conclusion

Remember, a trustworthy company will be transparent, experienced, and prioritize open communication. Investing the time upfront in thorough research ensures a smooth land clearing process, transforming your Castle Hills property into a prepared canvas for your vision to flourish.

10 Types of Pests That Can Live in Tree Stumps
A tree service Sydney offers can include tree lopping, tree pruning, and stump grinding. If you are interested in the latter but have hesitations, one of the reasons to go for it is because of the pests that can home in the stumps. Leaving them unattended for a long time can make it more challenging to manage. To help you further, here are some of the pests that can live in tree stumps:
Termites
When it comes to tree-related pests, termites are the most common ones you will see always included on the list. They are small, pale insects that are known to feed on wood, so it is no surprise that they are seen in stumps. Migrating from tree stumps to wooden structures is something that they can do. If they are not given attention, they can cause structural damage if you have wood at home.
Carpenter Ants
Carpenter ants are usually seen easily compared to termites because they are large. They can be in black or red colours, making them easily recognised. They excavate wood to create nests. Tree stumps and nearby wooden items need to be mindful of carpenter ants because they can weaken the stumps through tunnelling.
Beetles
If you see eggs on the wood, one of the causes is beetles. Some beetle species lay eggs on tree stumps, including bark beetles and wood boring beetles. If you do not remove the tree stumps, laying eggs will continue until there are decays and further damage.
Wood Wasps
If beetles lay their eggs on wood, wood swaps can also do the same, and you will see them on dead wood or dying trees. The larvae can attract other pests, furthering the damage to the tree stumps. Do not let this happen by ensuring that the stump is properly and immediately removed by the professionals.
Mushroom Beetles
The combination of decaying wood and fungi is not good for the home and the people. However, in mushroom beetles, it can be heaven. You will commonly see them in decaying wood, and cause its decomposition. However, this happens once they spread fungal spores.
Fungi
Various types of fungi can be seen in tree stumps, like polypores, bracket fungi, and mushrooms. They might look like nothing to some, but once they colonise the stumps, they break down the wood. Although they are not considered pests, they are one of the things that can attract pests and insects to the wood.
Woodlice (Pill Bugs)
Once the tree is cut down, you will see the unremoved tree stump slowly die and decompose. However, this process can be expedited because of woodlice or pill bugs. They are small and segmented and could live and thrive in decaying and damp woods. Their contribution to the decomposition of the stump can also cause predators.
Centipedes
If you see a brown long segmented body that is a few millimetres in length, it could be a centipede. This arthropod is easily recognised because of its multi legs and they hunt insects in dead or decaying woods. Some people might think that it is a good thing that they are present because they help in pest control, but it also means that other pests are living in the stump. Best to have it removed entirely to prevent this kind of problem.
Millipedes
Some people confuse centipedes and millipedes, but they have differences in their looks. The latter has a long and cylindrical body, compared to the centipedes which are slightly flattened. Their colour also revolves around brown, black, and reddish. They feed on dying organic matter, helping in the decomposition. However, they can also attract predators.
Slugs and Snails
Slugs and snails are molluscs that feed on decaying plant material, like a tree stump. You will also see them doing the same when there are fungi. They can attract predators just like millipedes, so their presence is not a good thing. Having slugs and snails on your tree stumps can also mean that the moisture level in the stump is high.
Understanding the differences between tree stump pests can help you recognise them better. May this list push you to remove your tree stump and conduct regular inspections even if they are gone. Professional pest control might be nothing if you do not maintain yard hygiene.

IAD Heroes Power Ranking: Part VI
Listen man I'm on a fucking roll and the latest book was "vampire rake meets Sexy Elsa" with very creative sexual activities sooo
Rydstrom Woede, demon (king), Kiss of a Demon King
Pros:
–called Sabine a “good girl” even when she’s actually being a bad girl
–is explicitly a dom
–the first time he smiles is after she flips him off
–is into spanking
–takes Sabine to a bar and everyone leaves the bar because she’s evil and he’s all “awwww baby I don’t understand why they don’t like you :(” when she’s committed, like, war crimes… down ridiculous…
–his big comeback to his enemy is like “lmao well I’m about to make your girl’s eyes roll back in her head SOOOOOOO EAT IT CUCK”
–has two elaborate fantasies in this novel: a) suspending Sabine from the ceiling and edging her until he lets her grind against his face B) watching Sabine cuddle their cute baby. The duality of demon king
Cons:
–I mean I guess he did some pretttttyyyyy dubious shit to Sabine, but only after she did them to him
–met a woman and became her friend and talked to her for days and literally didn’t remember fucking her once until she reminded him…. I thought it was funny
–that time he went at Sabine’s tits for so long that the next day she was all “THEY HURT SO BAD” so I assume he was like a newborn baby or something
–“I don’t have any fetishes!!!!” has every fetish known to man
–was so down ridiculous that he went to try and kill himself to save her… this is a pro… but I’m gonna pretend it’s a con
–is pretty hard on Cade who was just trying!!! his!!! best!!!!!!!!!! but again this is only mildly a con because his disappointed dad thing is hot
5. Murdoch Wroth, vampire, Untouchable
Pros:
---just extremely determined... his heroine can't bear skin to skin contact? He's gonna use an icicle as a dildo. He fucked up so bad she fled to an ice kingdom? Well, he's gonna fucking find her
--probably the closest IaD gets to a himbo... HE WAS MORE THAN A RAKE, DAMMIT!!! HE DIED IN A WAR!!!!!!!
--I don't think y'all get how impressive it is that he consistently hit the clit through a blanket AND fucked her to orgasm with an icicle for like a year
--is actually a very good brother
--finds out his woman maybe married another guy and goes "she's going to be a widow" I love mess
Cons:
--I mean does bitch a lot about how sexually frustrated he is but his heroine is an ice princess who can't stand skin to skin contact without extreme pain so........................... I do get it blue balls kill
--will masturbate to the thought of you in the shower while you're unconscious six feet away covered in arrow wounds... if that's something you're not into...
--has confidence issues because the Wroth brothers are rattled off like Nikolai: the leader! Sebastian: the brain! Conrad: the mysterious babe! Murdoch: ... the slut?
(do love that the Wroth bros are the Charlie's Angels of this series)
--bit Dani without her consent blah blah blah

How landscape lighting can make a big project shine
If you live in Pensacola, it's just a matter of time that you have to do the inevitable and remove a tree. Pensacola Tree Removal Service is a tree removal company that specializes in stump grinding, tree removal, and arborist services. They have been in business for over 10 years and have the experience and expertise to get the job done right. Fully licensed and insured, so you can rest assured that your property is in good hands. Pensacola tree service is a company that specializes in removing trees. They have been doing this for over 10 years and they are really good at it. They also do stump grinding, which means they get rid of the stump left behind after the tree is removed. They are fully licensed and insured, so you can be sure that your property is in good hands. You just put in all this work with maintenance or installations to make a client’s property look perfect. So, why limit its visibility to only half the day? When the sun goes down, landscape lighting can make a big project shine in a whole new light — literally. Jerry McKay, owner and founder of McKay Landscape Lighting and the Lighting Summit, says correctly illuminating a property is often neglected, and with more than 30 years in the industry, he has some advice to take your projects to the next level. “I’ve heard it a thousand times, but you can’t see the landscape at night, and you can’t see the architectural features of your home at night,” McKay says. “(Lighting is) the age-old safety, security and beauty. But creating that beauty for families and creating some safety, and then enhancing their security — all done tastefully — can be pretty powerful.” McKay says LED tape and lights on outdoor bars and kitchen areas is more popular than ever for McKay Landscape Lighting. (Photo: Tom Kessler Photography, courtesy of McKay Landscape Lighting) McKay says many people often fall victim to overused light features that don’t work well for their project, such as excessive path lighting and uplighting on trees. Instead, he suggests starting simple and just looking at the landscape to see what looks bad or needs some work. “I was at a job this morning that had one little tree and had four uplights on it. It made no sense,” Mckay says. “I think what happens is people just see stuff and they think that’s the way it should be, and so they really have to think out of the box.” For McKay, there’s a few design choices he finds are being used more often by his company, such as LED tape underneath outdoor kitchens and bars, architectural sconce lights, downlighting on large trees for a more natural aesthetic and architectural bollards that match the property’s design. “The use of bollards in certain instances, I would say it’s more like jewelry for the house. It just makes it look that much better,” McKay says. Downlighting on trees can be used to mimic natural moonlight. (Photo: Tom Kessler Photography, courtesy of McKay Landscape Lighting) One big difference between landscape lighting and other typical jobs is that the magic happens in the dark. Needing to work long days and evenings to see your product glow into the night can sometimes be a difficult grind, but McKay says going that extra mile can make it all worth it. “To be able to mix a little bit of art with business, it still has some pizzazz as kind of a cool business,” McKay says. “And so that’s kind of the fun part of it.” The post How landscape lighting can make a big project shine first appeared on Landscape Management.
