Thinking endlessly about how the classical Athenians were like, so, on the one hand, many administrative tasks on which our civic apparatus relies require expertise.
But on the other hand, if we appoint leaders to necessary positions on the basis that they're the ones who are best suited to that work due to knowing all about it, that's putting real power in their hands, for an extended period instead of a safe little increment, which sets up our nice democracy of Every Free Adult Native Male Who Can Afford Armor to collapse very quickly into a narrow oligarchy.
But the fact remains that administration actually is skilled labor, especially on the tens-of-thousands-of-people scale they were dealing with, and also involves situations where it's impractical to run every step of a process through a committee. Not that they really wanted to acknowledge this but they were stuck with it a bit. If nothing else, people have day jobs, they can't always be voting.
But fulltime governators for whom this is their day job have too much power.
And the way they solved this was, most of the institutional memory and expertise and even exercise of force in the name of civic order was invested in slaves.
Mint workers? Executive accountancy clerks? Cops? All state property.
Very Important Job of distinguishing counterfeit coinage: public slave. Fifty lashes if he shirked or fucked up or cheated. Considerable authority in the context of the job. Could live quite a comfortable life. Absolutely no chance of his using this role as a springboard for building a political base and usurping authority, because he didn't have legal status.
This freed the actual executive positions up to be filled by people given one-year terms by lottery who had the authority to make (routine) calls but no personal power associated with the office; they didn't have to know shit to do the job and this kept them interchangeable.
Except generals, apparently. The Athenians were like, okay generals really do have to know what the fuck they're doing or we'll all die, but we can't make military service the defining feature of citizenship, and then put ourselves under the command of a non-citizen.
(Not even because like they couldn't entrust a slave with so much power, although being under threat of a lashing if people don't like your decisions probably isn't great for making strong strategic and tactical calls; it's the cognitive dissonance.)
So they had ten elected generalships, with less term limitation, and it was in fact a good avenue by which to build a political career.
But like, what the fuck huh?

In spite of these advantages, there are still restrictions for making use of peptides as rehabs exemplified via their sluggish progression to get involved in the clinic and minimal dental bioavailability. New approaches to address these troubles have been examined and effectively executed to boost the stability of peptides and also their constructs. There is fantastic assurance for the future of PDCs with 2 molecules currently on the marketplace and also numerous variations currently undergoing scientific trials, such as bicycle-toxin conjugates as well as peptide-- dendrimer conjugates. Communication in between peptide and also the biological target, which might be healthy protein or nucleic acid, happens by direct binding of the series to a variety of conformations of the target. Strategies consisting of modern peptide mimetics make use of the little molecules formation, which imitate peptides to conquer their insuffciency to work as drugs with oral management. Instead, the small molecular mimetics have the required biological impacts of the peptide lead, additionally are secure with significant variety; they can be created to generate novel drugs.

Tumour cells vary from healthy cells by the over-expression of tumour-associated proteins, also called Tumour-associated Antigens. HLA receptors on the cell surface area display screen fragments (i.e. peptides) from cellular healthy proteins to the outdoors, therefore enabling T-cells to separate between healthy and tumour cells. Peptides emerge from premature translation products and ageing proteins. Inside living cells, peptides are bound to HLA receptors and shuttled to the cell surface area. These peptides that are presented by the tumour cells are called Tumour-associated Peptides. To achieve a restorative effect while decreasing unwanted impacts on various other proteins and physical features, medications need to bind to target proteins with high affinity and also selectivity. We have actually made our molecules to be highly constricted by linking a chemical port compound, likewise called a scaffold, to certain amino acids in the peptide chain.

This was especially vital for the study as well as development of brand-new molecular entities to regulate protein-protein communications, in which the user interfaces are generally large and for that reason difficult to target by small-molecules. In this brief note I discuss a few recent agent instances of cyclic peptides valuable in biological/medicinal chemistry. Ultimately, the magazine of Jagtap et al. (J. Med. Chem. 2016, 59, 10190) constitutes an initial proof of concet regarding inflection of pre-mRNA splicing, which possibly will expand the interest in this process and in the potential of its inflection. It is expected that synthetic breakthroughs in cyclization approaches and in the conformational control of this type of compounds, in addition to various other applications, such as drug distribution systems, will certainly advance the area of cyclic peptides in the near future.
USADA stated that they would compare the ostarine proportion in the products to the ostarine ratio from my tests.
There is also an obscured line in between sporting supplements and also dietary supplements, which can make guideline difficult.

Right here, we aim to explore the capacity of unique peptoid hydrogels for long-- acting subcutaneous medication management. Peptoids are abnormal peptides not recognised by host enzymes as well as can consequently give long-term security as a hydrogel platform. An added benefit is that our low molecular weight peptide-like motifs are much less than 7 amino acids in length. They are attractive to pharmaceutical usage as they are more affordable to synthesize and also amenable to scale-up manufacture compared to larger peptides and proteins used throughout medicine, enhancing potential clinical translation to individuals. Both little molecules and also larger proteins with each other can access only 25 per cent of cell targets, while the other 75 per cent of human healthy proteins inside the cell are not targeted by these two courses of drugs. Therefore, there is a good deal of interest among scientists in targeting these websites via the growth of an unique healing course, such as bicyclic peptides, that exists in between the small molecule and also monoclonal antibody medication classes. In biological and also medical chemistry, cyclic peptides have advantages over linear analogues, as a result of their improved metabolic security and a better meaning of their conformational movement. Recently, there has been a significant boost in using cyclic peptides as devices to better recognize relevant organic processes and to search for new therapeutic representatives.

TAFAKKUR: Part 85
Music Therapy
In 1944 Edgar Cayce, who healed thousands of people while in a trance state, said "Music is the medicine of the future."
Currently, some religious scholars in the Islamic world denounce music. This paper analyzes the Islamic perspective on music and singing, and concludes that using music as a therapeutic agent in medicine is not forbidden.
Documented evidence shows the power of music can be tapped to heal the body, strengthen the mind, and unlock the creative spirit. Published papers and journal articles offer dramatic accounts of how doctors, musicians, and healthcare professionals use music to deal with everything from anxiety to cancer, high blood pressure, chronic pain, dyslexia, and even mental illness. During childbirth, music can relieve expectant mothers' anxiety and help release endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, and thereby dramatically decrease the need for anesthesia.
Exposure to sound, music, and other acoustical vibrations can have a lifelong effect on health, learning, and behavior, for such exposure stimulates learning and memory and strengthens one's listening abilities. Music has been used as a treatment or cure from migraines to substance abuse.
One thousand years ago, Muslim physicians were in the forefront of medicine and used innovations and therapeutic techniques that are now considered modern. They treated mental illnesses by confining patients in asylums with twenty-first-century techniques of music therapy. In Fez, Morocco, an asylum for the mentally ill was built early in the eighth century, and asylums for the insane were built in Baghdad (705), Cairo (800), and Damascus and Aleppo (1270). In addition to baths and drugs, the mentally ill received kind and benevolent treatment, and were exposed to highly developed music-based therapy and occupational therapy. Special choirs and live bands were brought daily to present singing, musical, and comical performances to patients.
Malik al-Mansur Sayf al-Din Qalawun built the al-Mansuri hospital in Cairo (1284). Its most outstanding characteristic was that, just like today's advanced hospitals, provisions were made to entertain patients with light music. Professional storytellers were appointed to narrate stories and jokes (radio, TV, and computers perform these functions today). People who called the faithful to prayer would sing religious songs in their melodious voices before the morning call to prayer; so that afflicted patients might forget their suffering. This hospital still renders such services today.
Medical benefits
Music therapy has been lost for more than 1,000 years in the Muslim world and in the West. In the last three decades or so, the West has shown tremendous interest in using music therapy to treat several diseases and ailments. No one knows exactly how music heals, but it looks like our brains are wired to respond to it.
Dr. Clive Robbins, a co-founder of the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy at New York University in New York City, says: "There is something intrinsically musical about the brain's neurological structure and the muscular function of the human organism. At a nonverbal level, music activates our minds, integrates our attention, and seems to help regulate some body functions." He has treated a child afflicted with cerebral palsy with music therapy in order to teach the child how to balance his body, coordinate his limbs' movement, and communicate. It has made him motivated and intent.
The right song seems to work in more than one way-distracting us from pain, boosting one's mood, reviving old memories, and even prompting the body to match its rhythms. Music has long been appreciated for its calming effects, but new research shows it also may have the power to restore and keep us healthy. Soothing sounds, from Tibetan chants to Beethoven symphonies, are being given scientific credit for preventing colds, easing labor pains, and even boosting anti-aging hormones. One study found that surgery patients who listened to comforting music recovered more quickly and felt less pain than those who did not. The International Journal of Arts Medicine reports that infants in intensive care units go home three days earlier, eat better, and gain more weight if the staff talks and sings to them.
Clinical studies and anecdotal evidence from music therapists suggest that the sound of music is soothing and comfortable. For example, music is credited with lowering cortisol, a stress hormone, as much as 25 percent; boosting endorphins, the body's natural opiates or feel-good drugs; reducing pain after surgery and reducing the need for sedatives and pain relievers; making patients recover from surgery faster and with less pain; possibly preventing colds; raising blood levels of Immunoglobin A (immune system fighter) to a whopping 14.1 percent; and easing labor without drugs. It also seems to help premature infants in intensive care; stimulate the brain's neural connections and promote children's spatial ability and memory; lower blood pressure as much as 5 points, reduce heart rate, improve cardiac output, and relax muscle tension; and manage non-pharmacological pain and discomfort.
But these are not all of its benefits, for research shows that music also improves the mood and mobility of people with Parkinson's, decreases nausea during chemotherapy, helps patients participate in medical treatment, decreases length of hospital stay, relieves anxiety and reduces stress, eases depression, enhances concentration and creativity, brings positive changes in mood and emotional states, increases awareness of self and environment, gives a sense of control over life through successful experiences, provides an outlet for expressing feelings, improves memory recall and thereby contributes to reminiscence and satisfaction with life. In addition, music therapy may allow for emotional intimacy with families and caregivers, relaxation for the entire family, and meaningful time spent together in a positive, creative way.
Exciting new research suggests that our brains respond to music almost as if it were medicine. Music may regulate some body functions, synchronize motor skills, stimulate mind and even make us smarter. According to Suzanne Hanser, D. Ed., a lecturer at Harvard Medical School's Department of Social Medicine: "There is no set prescription or a particular piece of music that will make everyone feel better or more relax. What counts is musical taste, kinds of memories, feelings and associations a piece of music brings to mind. Some people relax to classical music, others like the Moody Blues. The key is to individualize your musical selections."
Depression
Research conducted at the Stanford University School of Medicine provides some interesting results. For one group of 20 people aged between 61 and 86, moods rose and depression fell when they listened to familiar music they selected, on their own or with the help of a music therapist, while practicing various stress-reduction techniques. A control group who missed out on the music and the exercises saw no improvement during the 8-week study period. It helps to perform gentle exercises, depending on one's fitness level, while the music plays. Movements should be light and flowing. Breathe to the music, and gently come to rest when the music ends.
Insomnia
A study from the University of Louisville School of Nursing Research indicates that 24 out of 25 people with sleeping problems nod off more quickly, sleep longer, or get back to sleep more easily after listening to classical and New Age music. The music must be quiet and melodic, have a slow beat and few, if any, rhythmic accents. To be effective, one should skip the after-dinner coffee or tea and avoid telephone calls and TV after 9 p.m. Softer and quieter music should be played as bedtime approaches. Listen to the music in bed with a tape recorder or a CD player equipped with a silent on/off switch. One should lie quietly and take even, deep breaths.
Stress
Many studies have found that soothing melodies can ease anxiety and quiet both blood pressure and heart rate even under very stressful conditions. Everyday stress also responds to music. Select music that grabs your attention and, at the same time, relax your body so that all of your worries slip away. Slow music, like a love song sung by an accomplished singer or a calm instrumental piece may be perfect. If a slow tune gives your mind time to fret or obsess, switch to something livelier. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position and where you will not be disturbed. After a few minutes, perform a relaxation exercise.
Pain
One Yale University School of Medicine study found that people who listened to their favorite music while awake during a surgical procedure needed smaller amounts of sedatives and pain medication than those who did not. Music therapists and researchers say that physical discomfort from post-operative pain to chronic aches can be eased with flowing melodies and distracting rhythms. Dr. Alicia A. Clair, a board-certified music therapist and professor and director of music therapy at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, says that music can bring transitory relief from short-term and long-term pain and discomfort, such as arthritis and osteoporosis. Gentle and soothing stress-reducing music, which can relax and distract the mind, is helpful. Martha Burke, a board-certified music therapist in Durham, North Carolina, says: "Gently flowing music or music with a slow, steady pulse can help promote relaxation, which can then alter a patient's perception of pain. Soothing music can lower the heart rate and breathing rate, leading to further relaxation, and reduces tension that comes with the pain. We know music is so incredibly complex--it has tempo, rhythm, melody, and harmony. And so it stimulates the brain in many ways at once."
Brain damage
Samuel Wong, a Harvard-trained physician based in New York City, plays musical instruments to help patients with brain damage (from strokes) and Alzheimer's reconnect to the world. He is also music director of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Honolulu Symphony. "When brain damage (from stroke, Alzheimer's, etc.) leaves a devastated mental landscape, music 'builds a bridge' that allows patients to reconnect with the outside world. The study of medicine has informed my performance of music, and my learning of music has deepened my role in healing," he says. In 1996, researchers at Colorado State University tried giving 10 stroke victims 30 minutes of rhythmic stimulation each day for three weeks. Compared with untreated patients, they showed significant improvements in their ability to walk steadily. People with Parkinson's enjoyed similar benefits. Stroke victims and patients with Parkinson's walked more steadily and with better balance and speed if they practiced while hearing a balanced metrical beat or a piece of music with a powerful, even beat. A musical beat from any genre seemed to provide a rhythmic cue, which has a powerful, organizing effect on the brain's motor skills ;it helps harmonize movement almost at once, according to researchers. Scottish researchers have found that a daily dose of music significantly brightens the moods of institutionalized stroke victims. When daily music therapy was administered for 12 weeks, the patients were less depressed and anxious, and more stable and sociable than other patients in the same building. Music therapy also has proved useful in managing Alzheimer's and other neurological diseases.
Sounds of healing
Mitchell L. Gaynor, MD, director of medical oncology and integrative medicine at New York's Strang Cancer Prevention Center (affiliated with the Cornell Medical Center), says: "More doctors are seeing a connection between harmonious sound and health. If we are around very harmonious people and harmonious vibrations and harmonious sounds, we begin to feel better. I have never found anything more powerful than sound and voice and music to begin to heal and transform every aspect of people's lives. It can really change people's lives.” "We know that music is capable of enhancing the body's immune function, lowering heart rate, lowering stress-related hormones like cortisol that raise our blood pressure and depress our immune systems. It also trims complications after heart attack, calms anxiety, slows breathing and increases production of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers. Eighty percent of the stimuli that reach our brains come through our ears."  "Even before birth, music makes a difference. Hearing is the first sense to develop, when the fetus is only 18 weeks old (Qur'an 32:9). We know that the unborn child hears for literally half the pregnancy and is affected profoundly by what it hears. Studies show that music by Mozart and Vivaldi actually can bring down fetal heart rate, calm brain waves, and reduce the baby's kicking. Rock music, on the other hand, appeared to drive fetuses to distraction, greatly increasing kicking." "Our bodies are 70 percent water, and thus excellent conductors for sound and vibration. We do not hear just with our ears, but literally feel vibration's sound with every cell in our body. Disharmony and noise, whether from traffic, the boss yelling at us about a deadline, or a jackhammer on the street can make us stressed, depressed, and pessimistic--all of which depress our immune systems. That is why disharmony can eventually lead to disease." "Our own voices are very underutilized healing tools. Singing is a great way to tap music's healing power. If you are self-conscious, try chanting. Anyone can do it, and you can't do it wrong. We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg as far as the incredible power of sound to affect every cell and every organ system in our bodies."(10) The Qur'an says: He fashioned him in due proportion and breathed into him something of His spirit. And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding). Little thanks do you give! (32:9, 16:78, 67:23). Dr. Keith Moore, professor and chairman of the Department of Anatomy at the University of Toronto's School of Medicine, writes in his most popular textbook on human embryology that the human embryo first gets the ears (hearing), then the eyes (sight), and next the brain (feeling and understanding or mental faculties) in that order, as mentioned in the above Qur'anic verses. On the other hand, very loud music with sounds louder than 90 decibels cause stress and ear damage. Pierce J. Howard, Ph.D., director of the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies in Charlotte, NC, says: "Very loud music creates an altered state of consciousness akin to an alcoholic or drug-induced stupor that can become addictive."
The Mozart effect
Don Campbell, a composer, music researcher and teacher, healer and the author of The Mozart Effect, learned that he had a potentially fatal blood clot in an artery just below his brain. He shrunk the blood clot from more than 1.5-inch length to one-eighth of an inch by humming quietly for three to four minutes at a time, up to seven times a day. He did this for three weeks before he went back for a second brain scan. In The Mozart Effect, he writes: "You know music can affect your mood: it can make you feel happy, enchanted, inspired, wistful, excited, empowered, comforted, and heroic. Particular sounds, tones and rhythms can strengthen the mind, unlock the creative spirit, and miraculously, even heal the body. Exposure to sound, music, and other forms of vibration, beginning in-utero, can have a life long effect on health, learning and behavior." In conclusion, one should listen to a piece of music that one finds inspirational and uplifting. Dr. Ahmed al-Kadi of Florida's Akbar Clinic conducted research on the healing power of listening to Qur'anic recitations. There is an urgent need for conducting more research on music therapy by Muslim physicians in the West and in the Muslim world.

The Newly Discovered Dimension of The Heart
In our world of knowledge and wisdom, there are two meanings for the word “heart”; as an emotion that is open to the spiritual realms and an important power plant for the biological structure. Our Lord, Who has created everything in pairs, has created the heart as a dual structure too, as both the material and the spiritual heart. The spiritual heart is a spiritual gift; the spiritual soul is the essence and hidden depth of this gift and the biological soul is its transport. The biological heart is one of the three centers (the head, the heart, and the abdomen) of the biological soul, like the brain. The heart is a two-sided core lit with divine light; with one aspect it looks upon the realm of souls and with the other the realm of objects. When we look at it from this point of view, we see that the material and spiritual hearts are related to one another. But since the content and nature of the relationship between these two hearts has not yet been fully revealed, it is still open for research. Below, we summarize the latest research that indicates the fact that the unity of heart and mind, a unity that is a potential in all human beings, needing to be cultivated, a unity which has to be realized on the way to truth, can in fact be observed within the physical structure of human beings.
Modern medicine, which tries to understand the biological structure of human beings, has been carrying out research in recent years that reveals the manifestations of the above fact. For instance, in classical text books the heart is introduced as a mechanical system that pumps the blood, a center to which all the organs of the body are directed; but recent research shows that there is a nerve system in the heart, just as there is in the brain, and that the heart assumes responsibility, to the same degree as the brain, in the control of the body. It has been revealed that the harmonious functioning of all the other bodily systems is regulated by the heart to the same degree as done by the brain. In recent years, the heart has been depicted as the sage and master of the palace that is the body. Alongside the abstract, analytical, and logical intellect of the brain, the heart is equipped with emotional and communicational intellect. Emotions are first produced in the heart; the signals produced in the heart are then carried very rapidly over to the limbic system of the brain. It is then through the brain that the emotional response is carried over to the body and communicated to those around it. Research which has been carried out in the framework of studying the heart-brain relationship has revealed things that may change our attitude toward the heart, as well as affecting our presuppositions about humanity and how our health can be protected.
The two-way communication system that exists between our heart and brain is one of the most complex communication systems in the world. For a start, the heart is made up of 40,000 nerve cells which pertain to it alone. This number of nerve cells is close to the average found in various centers of the brain. It has a complex and mysterious nervous system unto itself and this nervous system is defined as the “brain in the heart.” There is clear and sound proof that the heart communicates with the brain along four different pathways. The first is via the nerves (the neurological pathway); the second through the hormones and neurotransmitters (the biochemical pathway); the third is made up of the pulse waves created by blood pressure (the biophysical pathway); with the fourth being the interaction of the electromagnetic fields (the energy pathway). The sympathetic nerves that envelope the heart like a web are one of the four important communication and regulation branches of the heart-circulation system. The heart operates in a system which produces one of the most powerful and broadest electromagnetic fields in the human body. The bioelectromagnetic fields that are produced can be measured by SQUID (Superconductor Quantum Interference Device) from 50-70 cm away. The electrical field in the heart measured by an electrocardiogram (ECG) is on average 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrocephalogram measurements taken from the brain; the magnetic component of the heart is 5,000 times stronger than the one in the brain. Consequently, these forces cannot be absorbed by the tissues and disappear; similarly the blood pressure that is produced by the rhythmic activity of the heart, the sound pressure, and the changes in the electromagnetic waves are not only carried over to each part of the body, but at the same time the scattering of that field of energy is felt by the people who are experiencing it. All these observations show that the heart has been given the role of a signal station, providing and regulating the synchronicity within the entire body. When people experience different emotions (fury, happiness, fear, and despair) the heart beat changes along with the rhythmic patterns produced by the pulse.
The Emotional State of the Heart Affects the People around
The quality of the electrical signals that emanate from the heart affect all the cells of the body in a negative or positive way. It has been observed that the electromagnetic fields produced in the heart affect the emotions and thoughts of other people who are in physical contact or 50-70 cm away from a heart that is producing these emotions.
This shows that the emotional state of educators in preschool environments and mothers has a direct effect on the development (especially that of heart and mind) of the children. In particular, if the people who work in preschool environments are under stress, temperamental, unhappy, or depressed, this will not only affect the educator, but also the development of the children under their care. When those who are working with children have positive emotions, are affectionate, and smile, this has a positive effect on the development and learning curve of children.
The development of the brain and heart in children is dependent on their mothers and educators having a healthy heart. For these hearts to be healthy they have to possess positive emotions (such as affection, compassion, and love). In one study carried out at Harvard University, it was observed that adults who had not received sufficient amounts of love during their childhood or who received no affection became ill more frequently and also died sooner. It is now understood that the general heath of human beings is more dependent on our living with positive emotions and having a strong spiritual dimension than on living with logical and rational thoughts. From these we understand much better the importance of controlling the emotions that emanate from the heart through a sound education. The heart is one of the centers that regulates the general health of the individual. Behavior patterns (overworking, the performing of hasty actions, anxiety, or being temperamental) are risk factors that deteriorate the health of the heart and that can lead to heart attacks. Some research shows that an intense episode of negative emotions, like fury, anxiety, or despair over a long duration can lead to sudden death related to heart disease. The risk of stress that is related to poorly managed chronic negative emotions causing cancer and heart disease is six times greater than the risk involved in smoking, high cholesterol, and hypertension. Disliking or being unsatisfied with the work that one does is also considered to be a great risk factor when it comes to heart attacks.
The Heart Rate Variability
According to messages emanating from the sympathetic nerves in the autonomous nervous system, one of the four pathways used in the control and regulation of heart activity, the heart rate and secretion of adrenal hormones increase. The stimuli that come from the parasympathetic nerves, on the other hand, slow down the beating of the heart. The balance and harmony between the two is very important for the health of the heart. The changes that are observed in pulse patterns over time are a key measure of the balance between the brain and the heart. Heart rate variability (HRV) shows whether or not the electrical stimuli in the sinoatrial knot (the group of nerve cells that are responsible for the production of the electrical current in the heart) are being regulated as they should. Since the HRV parameter forms a window through which we can measure the ability of the heart to respond to the regulating signals that travel from the heart to the brain and from the brain to the heart; in recent years the determination of the percentage of heart rate variance has gained importance. The HRV measurements are carried out via tacograms; these measure and analyze the HRV for the duration of an hour. Normally, the HRV parameter is the capacity of the heart rate to respond to changing circumstances and to adapt to the required pace. The decrease and increase in this capacity in situations such as stress, temper, excessive joy, and panic disturbs the capability of the heart to adapt; it causes a decrease in this capability and can result in the collapse of the whole system. An HRV which has decreased, due to either material or emotional causes, could be a harbinger of arrhythmic cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, the speeding up of atherosclerosis, or heart failure. Patients whose HRV decreases may die sooner than patients whose HRV is normal or high. If the HRV does not keep within the normal, balanced limits, it is highly probable that those patients may die due to a sudden heart attack.
In the biological working of the body, the brain obeys the heart. When the changes in the heart rate are harmonious, the waves (alfa or lower wavelengths) that are produced in the person’s brain are also in synch with the rhythm of the heart. In other words, there is a harmonious cooperation and an excellent unity in the compatibility of heart beats and the relationship between the heart and the brain. The research that has been done in this field shows that the activity of the brain has been programmed in synch with the activity of the heart. For instance, in embryonic development, the brain follows the heart. While the child is developing in the womb, the heart develops before the brain. The development of the brain is completed only after a child reaches one year of age. According to recent research, when a person’s emotions change, the quality of the signals that emanate from the heart to the brain change automatically as well. In other words, if the psycho-physiological state of the individual is balanced and positive, the HRV rhythms of the heart are accordingly harmonious and consequently the electrical activity in the brain is synchronized with this balance and harmony that is produced in the heart.
Research shows that humans live 80-90 percent of their lives automatically and mechanically; in their daily lives they make most of their decisions and do most of their activities unconsciously, according to habit and subconscious directives. Consciousness and will have a very weak hold on our emotions, whereas our strong emotions (for instance passion) have a greater capacity to control and direct our will and consciousness. The automatic way of life conducted through habit is dominant over the way of life led through conscious choices and will; emotions (especially passions) have, in that sense, a natural superiority over reason and logic. This natural condition and tendency of humanity makes it essential to find the answer to the question of how one may live a life that is governed by reason, logic, and will, yet maintain health at an optimal level. The key to finding the answer to this question is to take the education of the heart (or the education of “emotional reason”) seriously and giving it priority. Education which does not take emotion or passion into account, which overlooks them, has to be abandoned immediately. In its place, an education and life philosophy that gives due importance to the heart and the emotions, a philosophy where reason and logic help emotions and show them the way must be adopted.

Flexing onward for a very long time is likewise harmful, so a great chair is a smart investment (attempt Vitra for style classics or, if you're on a spending plan, Ikea). BCA chiropractor Tim Hutchful has this guidance:
Make sure you sit back into your chair so your back is supported. Knees ought to be slightly less than hips, to put your back into a neutral placement.
Adhere to a desk-top computer as opposed to a laptop as it has a screen at eye degree. If you have a laptop computer, buy a stand so the screen goes to eye level to stop you stooping (you'll also require a USB keyboard).
Having your arms sustained will certainly take the stress off your neck and shoulders. If you can not, keep in mind to take normal breaks (five mins every 40 minutes).
 Analyze your needs
Regardless of just how large or small your area, it is necessary to plan meticulously. Before you begin, sit down and make a detailed list of things you are likely to need and exactly how you are mosting likely to use your workplace.
Consider that will be making use of the workplace - will it just be you, or your family members also? Are you utilizing it for company or purely for personal admin? Lengthy corridors usually have great deals of potential for storage room in the type of floor-to-ceiling shelving. An option is to stash your workplace essentials in a purpose-built cabinet. A well-designed system can conveniently house a COMPUTER or laptop, as well as when the work is ended up, the whole great deal can be closed away hidden.
For a bespoke design, go to ratedtradesmen.co.uk to discover a joiner that can customize a space to your exact requirements.
Conversely choose a cool, free standing office-in-a-box or a bureau that you can take with you when you relocate. 'Well-thought-out storage space is naturally, a crucial part of any workplace,' says Judith Tugman. 'It's vital to be able to access tools and also files conveniently, and whatever must have its very own space. Yet I do assume that when you have completed functioning, every little thing needs to then be stashed nicely so it does not come to be a continuous component of your life.'
 Dual Function Rooms
Whether it's a workdesk hid in a peaceful room, a laptop computer established in the cooking area or a job station in a living-room, this sort of home office needs to incorporate effortlessly right into its environments.
Take a fallen leave out of cook and full time mum Sophie Conran's book - she has an open-plan home, which likewise acts as an office. A lengthy table provides a lot of desk area, and also a financial institution of unobtrusive Vitsoe shelving ensures her reference library of publications as well as magazines are all to hand, in addition to all her declaring. When clients check out your house, the oversized dining table additionally increases up as someplace to convene.
 Devoted office
If you work at house on a permanent basis and also have tons of work-related paraphernalia, then devoting a whole space to the reason is a sensible plan, as a cramped workplace can end up being dismal and counter-productive. Consider converting an extra bed room and even the attic, both of which are typically rather separated from the center of your house, which suggests a serene and also quiet workplace - especially handy if you've got youngsters around.
' We have great deals of clients that intend to convert a bed room or tiny area right into a research study,' states Daniel Nelson of Vitsoe, whose flexible 606 shelving system, developed in the Sixties by Dieter Ram, is a style classic. 'In this sort of situation, we constantly attempt to motivate people to construct upwards with their storage as opposed to sidewards (which is what people often tend to do). By doing this you can take advantage of a reasonably little room.' For alternative super-slick storage and also home-office solutions, Hülsta, Neville Johnson and Hammonds can all fit out a room with bespoke office furnishings.
 Yard Workplaces
If you're a house worker who simply can not press an office right into your existing room but have room outdoors to save, it might deserve buying a separate structure.

When working at house, a really speedy internet connection is leading of most individuals's shopping list. If you're running an organization from residence as well as have other individuals working with you, you might likewise require to network Computers as well as printers in order to share data. If computer science was never ever your best subject, companies such as Geeks on Tires and also The Mac Dad can not just assist you set up your wireless network, back up your information and even just obtain your printer working once more, but can also encourage on the devices you will certainly need and also even provide it - a true blessing for technophobes almost everywhere.

8 Types of Meditation That Slows Down Aging
Let’s see how to reap the enormous benefits of a centuries old tradition practiced by millions in modern times!
What is Meditation?
Have you ever really taken the time to consider what meditation is? Maybe you have tried to meditate at one time or another, but were never truly successful, why?
Is it because you do not know what to do? Not likely, because you can find hashed around definitions of what it is, all over the place. In fact, most practitioners of meditative exercise will tell you to ’empty your mind,’ but in practice, this is much easier said than done.
Instead, mediation should be regarded as a state when the mind is not worrying about the past or future, but rather in ‘thoughtless awareness.’
For example, to focus on nothing else besides your breathing can be considered meditation. Similarly, sitting next to a waterfall and being aware of nothing except the sound of the waterfall is also meditation.
→ To put meditation into perspective, it is the state of being aware of a single thought. A man working in the field extremely focused on doing repetitive work is in theory in a deeper meditative state than someone sitting in a serene peaceful area with random thoughts fluttering through their mind.
Why Make Meditation A Part of Your Healthy Lifestyle
The benefits of meditation are wide and far-reaching and can help improve your quality of life, and the state of your mind, and spirit. Below are just some of the proven benefits of meditation.
Tumblr media
Boost Concentration
The tenets of effective meditation have to do with the ability to block distractions and sharpen mental acuity. Enhanced concentration means you are better able to focus on a singular task, or even multitask with few well-defined objectives at the same time. In turn, this enhanced concentration translates to longer-term memory as well, as deeper connections are made in the neurons found in the brain.
Increase Self-Awareness
Most people think that they have a handle on what it means to be self-aware, but in reality, most people do not. Being self-aware refers to being able to recognize traits of your individuality, whether it is good or bad. For example, you can manifest as a classic “angry” individual, but to yourself, nothing is wrong.
Being self-aware means that you are able to pinpoint when your angry responses are occurring, with the objective of correcting and bettering yourself. When you take the time to meditate, you become better acquainted with yourself, ultimately becoming more comfortable with who you are, along with acquiring a much deeper understanding of self.
Improve Heart and Immune System Health
Although it is not fully understood why meditation improves health of these systems, it is thought to be related to the effect that relaxation has on the beneficial compound Nitric Oxide. Nitric oxide helps to relax blood vessels, lowering blood pressure, and could help in the expression of white blood cells, which are immune boosting cells.
Bust Stress
One of the primary reasons people try to meditate in the first place is to escape a world filled with stress. In addition, of course, meditation is highly efficacious in achieving stress reduction. Effectively performed, persons are able to gain control over both their nervous and emotional wellbeing, reducing the need to prescription medications to treat or help manage the same.
The calmness and quite brought to the mind during a meditative session does not end with the session. Actually, it transfers to day to day life, and becomes a sort of coping skill, so the practitioner is able to better handle stress and stressful events with a heightened level of acceptance so those stressors have much less of an effect on his or her mind and body.
Slow The Aging Process
Of particular interest is the massive benefits meditation can have on the aging process. Studies have shown that meditation alters brain chemistry to slow aging, and that people who meditate tend to have higher densities of gray matter in the brain (basically, more brain cells) helping to stave off dementia and age related cognitive decline.
Finally, people that meditate have been found to have longer Telomeres, the cap ends of chromosomes, which as they become frayed over time, speed up aging. This translates to a reduced biological age, even though you cannot alter chronological age (basically looking like 30 when you are 60).
What The Studies Show: Meditation And Aging
Let’s face it, a statement is not worth anything without definitive proof, and that is what these scientific studies provide.
Tumblr media
1. The Telomeres Study
If there was one study that revolutionized the role meditation has on slowing aging, it was the one initiated in the year 2000, by two physicians specializing in disciplines light years apart- or so it was thought up to that time. The two physicians, Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn, was a biochemistry specialist, and Dr. Elissa Epel from UCSF’s psychiatry department broke new ground when they were able to prove that stress from daily lives could accelerate biological aging by decades in a matter of years.
They were more specifically monitoring the length of telomeres, the ‘end cap’ of chromosomes, which naturally become worn down following years of cellular replication, and the enzyme telomerase, which helps to protect and even rebuild telomeres.
After about 4 years, the researchers were able to gather 58 suitable subjects- all mothers of ill children, which classically are subject to higher levels of stress than the average population.
After the blood was analyzed from the subjects, the monumental results were reported- the more stress the subject was exposed to, the resulting lower their telomere length, and levels of telomerase enzyme.
This was the first solid proof that stress doesn’t just have negative health consequences- but literally ages you as well.
In addition, studies carried out specifically on the use of meditation, including transcendental meditation, reduced the death rate in the following 3 years to virtually 0%, as all the subjects survived for that period of time, compared to control groups.
Furthermore, the improvements gained from meditation were far beyond physical, as subjects also were able to maintain cognitive function and intelligence for a longer period of time.
2. Increases Cortical Thickness
Putting aside all the mumbo-jumbo, the cortex is an area in the brain that is responsible for planning and attention, which naturally thins as we grow older.
However, a study conducted in 2005 showed that meditation practitioners had remarkably thicker frontal cortex areas of the brain, resulting in more years at optimal cognitive efficiency. The results were most pronounced in elderly practitioners, suggesting that it may help offset age related changes to the brain
3. Improved Blood Flow in The Brain
As if these proven effects of meditation on physical aging are not enough, meditation does help to maintain functionality of an elderly brain.
Since many conditions of aging are associated with diminished blood flow to the brain, it is interesting to note a study performed in 2009 that demonstrated significant changes to cerebral blood flow following sessions of chanting meditation, via CT scans.
4. Increase in Grey Matter
Do you know how important the brain’s grey matter is? Simply put, it is what keeps your brain responding to the characteristics that make you, you.
The functions of gray matter are diverse, but most importantly include maintaining healthy skeletal muscle strength and functionality, keeping you sensitive to fine touch, and spatial awareness.
Meditation again has been shown to reduce the age associated loss of this important brain tissue, keeping you functioning well into your golden years, in some cases even reversing the loss and improving density altogether.
In 2015, a study published in the Frontiers in Psychology journal described research conducted at UCLA, which is an extension on their earlier work that suggested that meditation results in a decreases in age-related atrophy in the brains’ white matter. The current study now shows that meditation appears to help preserve the brain’s gray matter as well.
The study looked at age and gray matter decline and compared 50 people who had mediated for years with 50 who had not. Both groups of people showed the expected loss of age related gray matter, but the decline was much less in those who meditated versus those who did not.
One of the co-authors, Dr. Florian Kurth, a doctoral fellow at the UCLA Brain Mapping Center reflected that the researchers were very surprised at the magnitude of the difference as they did expect some distinctions, but not the widespread effect they found that meditation had on regions all over the subject’s brains.
It seems that while in modern times a lot of attention is paid to identifying and decreasing risk factors for dementia and other forms of cognitive decline to counteract the overwhelming incidence of such in baby boomers and the elderly, it may be more beneficial to engage in activities that actually enhance brain health, such as mediation.
5. More Anti-Aging Benefits of Meditation
We all know that the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of anti-aging is looking younger, but did you know there are also a host of processes going on inside the body at the same time? Things that we scarcely consider to actually contribute to making us age, but are the primary driving factors being it.
Worried about that odd gray hair you spotted this morning? Sure tweezing is a quick fix, but that’s not to say another won’t appear in a few days!
However, in order to understand the mechanism behind how aging happens, let’s have a brief summary of the processes that occur:
Natural Growth Hormone Production Drops Significantly – from the time we turn 30 years or so, our natural production of growth hormone slows down significantly. Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past decade or so, you have probably heard about the benefits of growth hormone on aging, such as improving skin suppleness and keeping body fat levels in check. People have been using growth hormone skin injections in their quest to find everlasting youth, and with reasonable levels of success.
DHEA Production Is Decreased – DHEA is a critical natural sex hormone that is converted into either testosterone or estrogen, depending on the gender of the individual and particular needs at that time. DHEA plays an important role in maintaining a healthy sex drive, regulating energy levels, keeping the stress hormone cortisol in check and maintenance of a positive mood.
Shrinkage Of The Pineal Gland – shrinks gradually over time, until eventually it becomes calcified or a remnant of its former self, with it occurring diminished production of the important sleep hormone melatonin. Melatonin regulates sleep cycle and is a powerful anti-oxidant, possibly explaining the reduced resistance and higher incidence of insomnia that occur in older populations.
Reduced Capacity Of The Hypothalamus – the hypothalamus is one of the most important structures in the brain, acting as a sort of “supervisor” to other systems, most importantly the pituitary gland. As aging occurs, the hypothalamus is much less able to maintain balance over body processes, and fails to appropriately link the body’s nervous and endocrine systems.
In fact, without an optimally functioning hypothalamus, these key body processes quickly go out of whack:
Blood Pressure
Body Temperature Regulation
Appetite and maintenance of body weight
Fluid and electrolyte balance
Digestive processes, including secretions of the stomach and intestines
Release of key hormones from the pituitary gland
Suppression of The immune system – suppression of the immune system normally occurs in conjunction with decreased hormone and endocrine output, resulting in ease of picking up infections, and overall reduced resistance to illness as you age.
As you can see, aging comes about as a result of all of these processes gradually over time, but not necessarily as a result of old age.
What does this mean?
It means that today, more and more young people are appearing with symptoms that mimic populations 10, or even 20 years older than them. Therefore, it is not at all uncommon to see a 30 year old suffer from a heart attack, when in the past only people 50 years and older typically experienced these health conditions.
Meditation has once again proved beneficial in alleviating these health and youth suckers from our body, at least relieving the rate at which age related degradation occurs.
How does meditation work to exert anti-aging effects?
Reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol
Decreases the need for and subsequent use of powerful prescription anti-depressants among other drugs
Lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels
Natural anti-anxiety treatment recommended by natural health practitioners
Improves blood flow to the brain helping improve health neuronal impulses and pulsatile release of hormones
8 Types of Specific Meditative Techniques To Slow Aging
Here are eight meditation practices that are especially beneficial to slow the aging process.
#1 Zazen
When it comes to meditative form, Zazen is typically what we visualize. Zazen literally translates to “seated meditation” and is used widely throughout the world, originating in the east. Also known as Zen Meditation, it may be used as a means of enlightenment, or the nature of existence. If you’re completely new to the meditative arts, Zazen is likely to be the best fit for you, as its ease of implementation is second to none
How to Perform Zazen
To begin with, it may be a good idea to get a small, soft pillow to sit on as you start the session. Though it is completely optional, to keep you from getting distracted because of a painful backside, it is better to use one.
1. Choose A Position – yes, not all Zazen is performed in the same-seated position. There are actually quite a few positions, which range in difficulty and comfort level, from easy to hard, listed in that order:
Burmese Position- the simplest position to begin with, in which the legs are crossed, with both knees on the floor and one ankle in front of the other, as opposed to resting on each other.
The Half Lotus Position (Hankafuza) – this is the second least technical position, which is just a “bend” away, literally. This position is identical to the Burmese, except that in this case, one ankle is placed on the thigh of the opposite leg, while the next ankle remains on the floor, preferably tucked under thigh of the elevated ankle. This postion should be implemented after a few sessions of the Burmese Position, since if you immediately begin with this you may experience cramping and muscle pain afterwards.
The Full Lotus Position (Kekkafuza) – this is the most complex position, and likely painful for a new practitioner, but is also the most stable of them. Of all the Zazen positions, the Full Lotus is touted to have the most benefits on health, including alleviation of muscle tightness, and improving energy levels. However, caution should be taken in individuals with join issues, as it may be uncomfortable towards knee pain. If pain is pronounced after a session, apply warm water compress.
Other Positions- these are not typical Zazen positions per se, but are still classified as such. They include the kneeling position, chair position (sitting in a chair), and the standing position.
2. Place Your Hands In The “Cosmic Mudra” Position – basically a position with one hand resting gently in the other, both palms facing towards the sky. Your dominant hand is placed on top, with thumbs slightly touching.
3. Try to clear your mind, focusing on nothing except your breath. You may close your eyes if it allows you to better clear your mind.
4. Begin counting the breaths you take, up to ten. Once you reach ten, start over from one again. If you are distracted by a wandering thought before you reach ten, that’s ok- just start over again. When you are able to successfully reach the count of ten multiple times, you have had a successful session.
Start Small – even just 5 minutes daily, and increase by 5 minutes each subsequent week. If you find counting too distracting, set a stopwatch away, which will let you know when you’ve done enough, because as you progress you need to focus solely on the breath, and no so much on keeping track of numbers
#2 Transcendental Meditation
One of the most widely studied meditative techniques, Transcendental MeditationTM (TM) was brought to the limelight during the 1950’s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is a silent mantra based meditation, which involves the use of silently focusing on a repetitive phrase. TM is usually performed twice daily, for sessions of 20 minutes each, but does not require any particular meditative position (such as the Lotus, etc.).
The goal of TM is to leave the mind in an “open attentional stance,” which is to induce an effortless relaxation, and handling thoughts that may come to mind, but to process and let it transcend.
Many practitioners claim it helps them to experience a scenario similar to “lucid dreaming,” in which the mind is in a state of not wakefulness, neither asleep nor dreaming but rather detached from the physical body, so distractions are minimized. Currently, over 4 million people practice transcendental meditation.
#3 Kundalini
In literal translation, Kundalini means coiled, as a snake would. It is better represented as an energy form, not recognized by western medicine, lying dormant at the base of the spine until it is appropriately “awakened” via intense meditative practice and breathing exercises.
Achieving Kundalini through meditation is considered extremely difficult, and should only be attempted by those dedicated to accelerate their spiritual journey towards transcendence. Awakening of Kundalini is experienced as an unexplained bliss or enlightenment, and is physically felt like a jolt of electricity travelling up the spine towards the head or as heat moving in the same direction.
There are multiple ways to actually awaken Kundalini, such as by transmission from a guru, or via intense yoga and meditation. Others have reportedly experienced Kundalini from intense emotional trauma, such as the death of a loved one or following recovery from a near death experience.
#4 Qigong
One of the most widespread meditative arts, Qigong originated in the Orient and is now practiced worldwide. Translated to literally “the cultivation of life energy,” Qigong is believed to give humans access to higher realms of awareness, as well as developing the true nature and potential of a person. Interestingly, Qigong has roots in many applications, such as martial arts, Chinese medicine, and alternative healing.
For the purpose of this discussion, we will be looking at Qigong Meditation, which is practiced via the use of mantra chanting, breath visualization, with the ultimate goal of calming the mind.
It is interesting to note that breath visualization is not the only focal target- you can choose literally anything, but which does not give way to many distractions (think of the horizon or a stream).
People who practice Meditative Qigong typically tend to focus on development of virtue and patience, with the ultimate end goal of enlightenment.
#5 Guided Visualization
Guided Visualization, also known as guided imagery, involves the use of typically sounds, smells, and textures to elicit a particular response associated with peace and relaxation. It is well known that the body and mind are linked, and the brain can elicit changes on the body just by thinking of it (or via imagery).
Guided visualization can be especially useful for individuals who have a difficult time zoning in on relaxing stimuli, and is either performed in a class by a trained instructor, or in the comfort of your home using a pre- recorder audio session.
A good example of guided visualization would be to close your eyes, imagine the seaside – the sound of the waves, the texture of sand under your feet, and using an aromatic aid that brings thoughts of the seaside.
#6 Deep Trance Mediation
Deep Trance Meditation is a highly sought after state that resembles when you are just about to fall asleep, when you are mentally awake but your body is asleep. The goal of deep trance meditation is to be able to “program” the subconscious right side of the brain, which can elicit greater creativity and ingenuity. While the left side of the brain is the “problem solving” logical side we use when awake, it does not normally function in unison with the right hemisphere. By practicing deep trance meditation, you are able to synchronize the two sides, forging deep neuronal connections and increasing mental capacity.
The first typical sign of entering the tranced state (also known as light trance) is the sensation of falling. Many of us have experienced this light trance state before as we begin to fall asleep, but it takes practice to translate that state into the longer full trance state.
#7 Heart Rhythm Mediation
Heart rhythm meditation involves focusing consciously on the pulse rhythm of the heart, as a means of bringing about relaxation. For example, one breath may last 8 beats of the heart, while exhalation is equal to the same. Alternately, an inhale may last eight beats, followed by holding of the breath for 16 more beats, then finally exhalation for 8 more beats.
Such a technique is known as a “Squared Breath.” Heart Rhythm Meditation is extremely efficient in relieving anxiety or nervousness, and calming your heart rate and breathing patterns.
#8 Mindfulness Meditation
Different from many other meditative styles, mindfulness emphasizes focusing on thoughts during the meditative session, which come up at that time. For example, thinking about the way you feel, or noticing the sounds and smells around you.
It is important to note that you should not focus too much or linger on thought at this time, as is the goal of mindfulness- to live in the present, and not be haunted by the regret of the past or fear of the future.
Getting Started With Mediation
All you have just learned would be futile if you don’t actually put into practice the techniques mentioned.
As such, here is a quick-start guide for you to start on your journey to wholesome physical, mental, and spiritual health:
Start By Having A Seat – chances are you’re new to meditating so take note that a seated position is much less distracting than standing when you are distracted by leg pain and constant position fidgeting. Grab a cushion for comfort, and ensure your spine is upright.
Relax Eye Tension – this means, gently close your eyes, but without squinting or hard closing them. If you find yourself forcefully having to close them, you can try focusing on a plain object in front of you- not too many details or you will get distracted.
Let It Go – no, we are not singing the Frozen soundtrack from Disney, but rather referring to what you should do to thoughts that do not belong in your mind at that particular moment. No worrying about bills or your job. If you are having a hard time doing so, focus strictly on your breath.
Be Consistent – meditation does not have to and should not be viewed as a task. The key is to start very easy – just 5 minutes a session and not penalizing yourself for mistakes or the inability to sit still. In fact, for most sitting still is a skill that is learned with much practice, and so is clearing the mind and focusing on the present. It is normal to have wavering thoughts at the beginning, but the key is to remove unnecessary ones as they originate, and focus on your breath to establish base. Then, strive to add 5 minutes every week until you reach 20 minutes per session, and practice every single day. It does not require lots of physical energy, so excuses should be absent as well!
Live, Love Enjoy – as you progress, you will learn to enjoy every moment of life as it occurs, and not be distracted by things that get in the way. You may notice your relationships improve, stress levels lower and as you get older your brain will certainly show the rewards of your efforts.

How Much Does it Cost to Make an App
Mobile application industry is constantly accelerating due to its ease of use and increased number of smartphones in the market. We use mobile apps in a number of daily activities such as cab booking, ordering favorite food, banking transactions, and shopping online, etc. Mobile apps are the basic needs when you use personal electronic devices such as a smartphone, laptop, or tablet, etc. Consequently, the app market is growing rapidly which eventually has given rise to a lot of app development companies in the market. Nevertheless, converting an app idea into the optimized technical application is not a piece of cake even for the top mobile application development companies in the market. Because users are demanding for complex and feature-rich application day by day.
And due to the high demand and cutthroat competition in the industry; it is very easy for end-users to find the replacement of an app. Hence, companies are under immense pressure to engage the customers with their app design and animation. Furthermore, every potential client of any app development company asks for a high-quality mobile app at a reasonable price. Hence, developers are looking for some economically viable solutions to develop the apps for their clients. However, mobile app development cost varies widely as it is easier to find the app developers in Asian countries at a lower cost as compared to the developers of the western nation. You can find app developers in Asian countries at an average rate of USD 20 per hour. While for the same work the charges in western nations can be as high as USD 100 to USD 350 per hour. (We will see it in detail further in the article).
That was just an approximation.
Tumblr media
Because app development cost is a combination of multiple factors such as:
Who is developing your app?
Where is it getting developed?
What process you are going to follow during the development?
What are the features and functionalities of the mobile app? Etc.
Therefore, in this guide, we are going to take you through the step by step process as well as every possible factor that can affect the app development prices. Let’s have a look!!!!
Pre App Development Activities: Pre-planning is always essential and perhaps one of the important cost-determining factors of an app development project. You have to compete with over millions of applications on play store/app store in order to stand out from the crowd.
Therefore, it is necessary to pre-plan development activities.  A successful pre-launch of a mobile app consists of the following:
• The objective of the Mobile Application: Before starting out the development process, the app development team has to be crystal clear with the objective of the mobile application. It will help them to create a roadmap as well as give an idea of all the necessary features and functions of the app. As a matter of fact, our team of developers makes sure to answer the following questions before taking the next step of the development process: 1 What is the purpose of this app? 2 Who will be the target customers? 3 How this app is going to benefit the end-users? 4 What are the technical limitations this app is going to face?  5 What will be the various challenges during the development as well as a post-launch phase? • Research the Market and Competitors: The second step after unfolding the app objectives is to conduct a thorough market and competitor research. Analyzing the existing apps, apps related to your idea, their features, and functions, and how these apps can be improved, etc. can greatly help you in making your whole development journey smooth. Market analysis and the overall study of end customers’ will also deepen the understanding of the ‘why’ behind your app idea. And the more you are clear with your app objectives and technical functionalities, the better the price estimation you can do for the entire app development project. Henceforth, market research and competition analysis are required to determine the application cost as well as to ensure the profitability of your app idea. • Wire Framing Once you are done with the market analysis and requirement gathering, the next step is to create an interactive visualization of the app in the form of a prototype. This is the step where app developers decide how will the end-users interact with the app? How many screens should this app contain? Where should the options/features be kept; on top of the page or on the side? Etc. You can find a number of wireframing tools in the market which will make the app development process easier. Although, there are multiple stages in app development wireframe tools can certainly, help developers in understanding the navigation flow of the application’s functionality which ultimately gives them a clear idea of overall app development cost. • Monetization Strategy: Post completion of the wireframing, market research, and app objectives; driving revenue is the topmost priority of app developers. After all, the main objective of a mobile app is to generate more and more revenue for the business. Thus, you need to be ready with effective monetization strategies when your app goes live. Furthermore, app monetization strategy includes: 1 ‘How to’ of in-app purchase? 2 How to generate advertising revenue? 3 Which channel will drive the most revenue for your app? 4 What will be the best subscription model as per the app? 5 How to bring more and more traffic on the mobile application? All in all, there are a number of activities that need to be accomplished before starting with the actual app development. And as far as the costs are concerned the above-mentioned activities won’t cost you much. But these 50-60 hours of activities will make your development ride smooth to a great extent.
Application Platform: This is one of the most important cost deciding factors in overall mobile application development project. App development cost varies as per the chosen app platform. For e.g. the cost of an iOS application is going to be a little more than its Android counterpart. The most common application platform which is currently used by a large number of companies can be seen below:
• Platform Specific Native App This type of apps is only specific to a certain mobile platform, such as iOS, Android, and Windows mobile application. App developers keep the specific platform in mind while developing these kinds of apps. And such applications are built with the help of respective programming languages like objective-c and swift for an iOS app, Java for Android and Dot net for Windows apps is used most commonly. Key benefits of native mobile app development: 1 Native apps are more secure. 2 Native apps have the best performance. 3 Native apps are more interactive and intuitive. 4 Native apps have fewer bugs during development. 5 Native apps allow app developers to access complete features on a mobile device. • Cross-Platform Native App Cross-platform apps share the same Software Development Kit and developed in HTML and CSS. You can find a number of cross-platform application development tools that can be used to develop such apps without any trouble. Although, cross-platform native apps do not have the same privileges as native apps still it is the most cost-effective approach when you are on a limited budget. Moreover, cross-platform native apps come with a variety of benefits like single code use and fewer development efforts. The most widely used app development framework for cross-platform native apps are as follows: Ø React Native: React Native is an open-source framework for mobile application development created by Facebook. It is used for writing real, natively rendering mobile applications for Android and iOS. It uses Facebook’s JavaScript library to React to develop excellent user interfaces. As a matter of fact, React Native App Development is comparatively simple, quick, and cost-effective. The main benefit of using this framework is that React Native apps can be developed via using a single codebase for both of the platforms simultaneously. Ø Flutter: Flutter is another popular cross-platform app development framework, which is created by Google. It also allows app developers to build high performance, high-fidelity apps in one codebase and compile to both iOS as well as Android operating system. It comes with a modern react-style framework, ready-made widgets, a 2D rendering engine, and various other development tools. These components help in designing, building, testing, debugging apps and make Flutter app development an efficient development framework for building mobile applications. • Web App: Web applications are usually written in HTML5, CSS or JavaScript and mostly run in a browser. These types of applications require a minimum of device memory and resources therefore, much cost-efficient as compared to any other app type. Web apps are medium to low cost and can be built within 30-60 days. Moreover, they might not be like real mobile applications but in many ways, they look and feel like native applications. Users have to navigate to a specific web page URL in order to install the web apps. All the web app related data is saved on server consequently, users need an internet connection to get access to the app. And a poor internet speed will result in bad user experience. • Hybrid App A hybrid app is a combination of both native as well as a web app. Such apps are developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and then wrapped inside a native app platform. Hybrid app development is much faster, simpler, more rapid and easy to maintain. Application development framework like Cordova lets you build the applications for more than one platform in a hassle-free manner. Therefore, the app development cost is drastically reduced in the case of hybrid app development. However, hybrid app development losing its charm due to the cross-platform app development frameworks. • Blockchain App Blockchain is basically a database of blocks that simultaneously runs on thousands of computers and each computer has the most up-to-date information. Blockchain app development has transformed the mobile app security as it is one of the most important parts of a crypto wallet app. The cost of Blockchain app development can be around USD 25000 to USD 150000 depending upon its functionalities. Generally speaking, the platform of a mobile application can greatly influence the cost of an app development project. App development cost is different for each app platform. You need to decide as per your requirements that which platform is most suitable for the kind of app which you are going to develop.
App Design & Complexity: Another important cost deciding factor in app development project is the features and designs of a mobile app. An app cost calculator will tell you that the cost of a customized mobile app is definitely higher then a standard mobile app.
The impact of designs and complexity on app development can be seen as follows: • App Complexity: It goes without saying that the more complex an app is, the more time app developers will take it to create and the more money they will charge to develop it. The below-mentioned checklist will help you to determine the overall app development cost in relation to its complexity. Simple Mobile Application: 1 Standalone app with little or no backend. 2 Simple user interaction. 3 Mostly static content. 4 Limited user action. Mobile applications of this category can cost you around USD 5000 to USD 10000. And they are suitable for an MVP due to its faster development. Medium Complexity Application: 1 Search functionality. 2 Personalized feeds. 3 Messaging features. 4 Limited backend. 5 Simple user content generation. Price for such medium complexity apps is around USD 10000 to USD 50000. Such mobile apps can help you in attracting new customers with its rich features and functions. High Complexity Application 1 User-generated content. 2 Complex business logic. 3 Personalized feeds. 4 User profile & settings. 5 Heavy backend logic. 6 Cloud Synchronization. A complex app can cost you from USD 50000 to USD 150000 and these highly secured and easy to navigate apps have the potential to transform your business. • UI/UX Design Great design for your app is essential in the overall success of the application. App design is the main factor in getting more traffic and increased ROI. Moreover, the better the design, the more engaged a user will feel. And the more engaged a user is higher the chances of conversion into a permanent customer. Furthermore, data suggests that more than 90% of the first impressions of a mobile app are entirely based on its design. Thus, it is always a good idea to hire a professional designer who has relevant experience and knowledge. And as far as the app design cost is concerned, there is no general rule as it is a combo of many factors like app’s size, designer’s level, and geographical location, etc. But on average, it will cost you between USD 5000 to USD 50000 depending upon its functionalities. To sum up, mobile app design and complexity is a vital part of app development in terms of the costs involved. So, it is necessary to spend the required time and money on it in order to make your app succeed.
App Development Process: Right app development strategy sets the roadmap for your mobile application so that you can shorten the app development time in a great manner. It helps you to define its category, select efficient development tools, protocols, and mobile app policies which eventually lead to a successful mobile app business.
A lot of startups end up failing due to the lack of a clear app strategy. Hence, to ensure that the mobile app has good usability and performance, determining the effective development strategy is the most crucial part. Try to take each aspect of the development process into consideration for building a wonderful mobile app.
Application Testing: Testing a mobile application as early as possible is always a good idea in mobile application development. It will help you to keep the final costs low. And whether it is Android app development or iOS app development, the deeper you go into the development process the costlier it becomes to fix the bugs.
Although app testing is an on-going and vast process but makes sure to cover the below-mentioned aspects of it. 1 Test if the App performs well in the background. 2 Performance testing is the key to your app’s success. 3 Security and Data Privacy for Authenticated App usage. 4 Run Functional test to check if the App meets its purpose. 5 Boost the Look and Feel of the application with UI Testing. 6 Run Usability tests to ensure customers’ comfort in your app.
App Deployment: This is the phase when your app is ready to submit to the respective store. And once the deployment process has finished, the mobile app becomes publicly accessible to the end-users.
A number of times mobile apps fail to pass the store approval stages and get rejected due to the unfulfillment of the respective store criteria. Moreover, the policies of app launching are different for each store, hence, you must have the entire application ready before deploying the application. Surprisingly, deployment is not the end of the app development journey. It is the beginning of a new development cycle. Because once the app is live, feedback will pour in and you need to incorporate those changes in the form of application updates.
App Monitoring/Support: As stated above that the mobile app development process doesn’t end with the deployment. The application has to go through further performance improvement, changes, and new features addition, etc. In fact, this is the stage where you get to see the actual results of all your hard work.
The major things to monitor in this phase are: • End-User Feedback: When your app lands into the hands of the end-user; you will start receiving their feedback regarding the app usage and performance. You will get to know how app UI is responding, how is the technical performance of the app, and are there any user actions that result in the crashes, etc. And as far as the cost of this step is concerned, you need to improve all these faults in the form of subsequent application updates. Thus, the cost of this step cannot be determined as it is solely a factor of the app performance. • Marketing & Promotion: Perhaps, this is the most important step in making your app successful in the market. In such a highly competitive market it is necessary for you to create effective marketing campaigns and branding strategies. Because there are a number of apps available in every industry segments on each store. Therefore, no matter how good your application’s features and functionalities are if it is lacking up to date marketing strategies then it is most likely to sit in the corner of the store and nobody is going to install it. Hence, it is always a good idea to allocate a separate budget for this particular step. To sum up, there are many phases even after the application deployment which might cost you a significant part of the overall budget. And this can be a huge investment in achieving your business goals. Other Important Factors We have already discussed most of the cost deciding factors. However, there are a couple of more elements which can affect the overall app development cost. • Geography: The geographical location of app developers and app development companies can drastically affect the prices. The per-hour charges of mobile app developers are highly variable across the globe. This can be seen below: 1 North America Region – USD 100 to USD 150 2 Australia & Europe Region – USD 60 to USD 100 3 South America Region – USD 30 to USD 60 4 Russia – USD 20 to USD 50 5 Asia Pacific Region USD 15 to USD 40 Thus, it goes without saying that an app developed in the AsiaPacific region will cost half of what it is going to cost in the USA. • Market Outreach & Company Size: Another important factor which affects the app development cost is the size of a company and its outreach. If any company does not have in house facility to develop certain special features of an application then it is most likely to outsource it. And outsourcing is definitely going to cost much. Furthermore, the size of a company also determines how much does it cost to make an app because an app development startup will cost you way lesser than a fully established company. Though, there might be the disparities in their work process as well as the output. But a small company will always try its best to fulfill all your requirements to make a good reputation in the market. So, the chances are very less that there will be a significant difference in the final deliverables.

All the horrifying things that can happen to your body when you sit all day
© Helen King - Getty Images Scientists say sitting too much can affect your weight, heart health, cancer risk, and longevity-so what can you do about it? Here's how to mix in more movement and the best way to sit for better health. Sitting Disease. It sounds like some mysterious condition you’d bring back from an exotic vacation, but it’s actually a modern homegrown ailment caused by going from the breakfast table to the driver’s seat, from your desk to the car to the sofa for the evening, with little movement otherwise.
The staggering amount of time many of us spend being sedentary-up to 15 hours a day if we work in an office, according to one study-can lead to problems inside and out. You’re probably familiar with the aches and pains caused by hunching over a computer, but spending too much time in a chair or slumped on the sofa also has been linked to several life-threatening conditions, including blood clots, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, heart disease, and cancer. Not even your brain is spared: In April 2018, researchers published a study that found an association between sedentary behavior and thinning of the regions of the brain that are critical to memory formation.
The issue with sitting goes beyond concern about obesity, although being overweight can increase the risk of many of the same conditions linked to sitting too much. And yes, clocking so many hours in your seat can make it harder to maintain a healthy weight: “When you’re sitting, you’re burning only half the calories you would standing or walking lightly,” says David A. Alter, MD, PhD, chair of cardiovascular and metabolic research at the UHN-Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.
But even if you’re trim, a sedentary lifestyle may still wreak havoc on your health. That’s because “lack of movement affects how we burn fat and metabolize sugar and the body’s response to insulin,” says Dr. Alter. Your cholesterol may also go up, along with markers of inflammation and troponins (a protein produced by cardiac muscle cells when they’re hurt or dying). Such physiological changes can nearly double your odds of diabetes and increase your risk of cardiovascular disease by 14 percent.
In a small study last year, researchers took a group of healthy young adults who regularly clocked at least 10,000 steps a day and had them cut back to 1,500 steps. Participants still went to work and took care of their families, says Dan Cuthbertson, PhD, of the University of Liverpool’s Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease. It was no surprise that within two weeks, subjects increased total body fat, particularly around their middles, and lost muscle mass. But strikingly, the group also experienced a decrease in insulin sensitivity and an increase in both fat accumulated in the liver and triglycerides. Staying sedentary had consequences that were both swift and potentially serious in the long term. These changes were all reversible when participants resumed their normal activity regularly.
The health effects of sitting too much
Sitting as much as many of us do increases our chance for some 35 serious conditions, likely because getting up and moving around is key for regulating proteins, genes, and other systems that lower our susceptibility to disease. Below, the effects of “sittingitis”:
© Nicole Jarecz health effects of sitting
1. Depression and anxiety
The more you sit at work, the greater your risk, even if you exercise, a study in Mental Health and Physical Activity found. On the flip side, other research shows that the more people move throughout the day, the happier they are.
2. Back and neck pain
Just four hours of sitting can compress a key disc in your lower back, says Gregory Billy, MD, associate professor of orthopedics and rehabilitation at Penn State University. Poor posture can also lead to disc problems in your neck.
3. Cancer
Risk of colon and endometrial cancer goes up even after accounting for exercise, possibly due to inflammation, weight gain, and other changes. One review in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute reports that for every additional two hours per day spent sitting, risk jumps 8 percent and 10 percent for colon cancer and endometrial cancer respectively.
4. Obesity, diabetes, and heart trouble
Yes, you burn fewer calories sitting, but also the hormone insulin’s ability to move glucose out of blood and into cells may decline when you sit for long periods, Dr. Alter says. Cholesterol and markers of inflammation may go up; how you metabolize fat changes; and vascular function may be reduced.
5. Weak bones
Weight-bearing exercise, including standing and walking, stresses your skeleton in a good way, signaling specialized cells to replace old bone tissue with new. When you sit too much, the body replaces less of what it loses, leading to fragile bones and a greater risk of osteoporosis, especially as you get older.
6. Blood clots
Slow blood flow in the legs from a sedentary lifestyle, possibly along with lower levels of clot-preventing proteins, increases your risk. Women who sat for more than 40 hours per week had more than double the risk of a clot moving to their lungs compared with those who sat less than 10 hours.
Can getting more exercise help?
Chairs are hardly a modern invention, but roughly 200 years ago, people sat for just five hours a day. The rest of their waking hours were filled with physical exertion: manually laundering clothes, kneading bread, walking places, working in the garden, you get the idea. If your great-great-great-great-great-great-grandma didn’t swear by her Spin class, it’s as much because she was doing a low-key workout from sunup to sundown as due to the fact that those classes didn’t exist. Today, including eight hours of slumber at night, we may move as little as 60 minutes each day.
Were our ancestors cocooned from the perils of a sedentary lifestyle because they were moving more, or because they weren’t sitting as much? That’s hard to parse, says Dr. Alter. We do know that only 18.7 percent of American women meet the federal guidelines for physical activity (at least 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous cardio exercise each week).
There’s no question that hitting those targets can help your health and improve your longevity. But it may take more than double that amount of conscious exercise to offset the time you spend sitting: A study in The Lancet that analyzed data from more than 1 million adults found that it took 60 to 75 minutes of moderate cardio per day to wipe out sitting’s higher risk of premature death. And even the most active participants saw an uptick in mortality risk when they sat in front of the TV for five or more hours a day.
That means exercise, while worthwhile, doesn’t completely make up for sitting. When researchers strapped activity monitors on nearly 8,000 adults 45 and older, they found that sitting for 12 or more hours a day increased the odds of early death regardless of exercise habits. And the risk was especially high if chair time was in uninterrupted stretches of 60 to 90 minutes, says Keith Diaz, PhD, the study’s lead author and an assistant professor of behavioral medicine at Columbia University. “It’s simply not enough to be active or move at one specific time of the day,” says Diaz. “We need to be mindful of moving frequently throughout the day in addition to exercising.”
How to mix in more movement
Before you quit your job or swap your washing machine for a washboard and a scrub brush, know this: Moving more doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing endeavor. You can have your modern life and conveniences (thank you, already-churned butter!) without fear that you’re harming your body. The main trick is to scale back both your sitting and how many consecutive minutes you spend in one seat.
A study from King’s College London showed that people who targeted their sitting time with a specific strategy-say, switching to a standing desk or walking to the water cooler more often-were more effective in reducing their sedentariness than those who focused on adding more exercise sessions into their days.
So work on replacing at least two hours of tush time with movement breaks-a shift associated with all sorts of benefits, including 14 percent lower triglycerides, higher “good” HDL cholesterol, a trimmer waistline, and better glucose control, according to a study in the European Heart Journal. “Little breaks don’t seem like much, but they add up,” says Dr. Alter. In fact, two hours spread over the roughly 16 hours you’re awake is about eight minutes an hour, and you can do those in spurts. One study has shown that adding two minutes more walking to each hour can decrease a person’s risk of dying by 33 percent.
You might also find that there are times you can eliminate sitting entirely. Must you call your sister from the sofa, or could you chat while strolling? What if you prepped dinner while standing at the counter or passed up a seat on the train? The fact that women who sat the most had more than twice the risk of a clot moving to their lungs compared with those who sat the least makes it easier to think of perching as a last resort.

The best way to sit in your chair
Some of the symptoms of too much sitting have to do with the way we sit. “Most of us tend to collapse into our seats so our shoulders roll forward and our back muscles get overstretched,” says Rebecca Seguin, PhD, an exercise physiologist and associate professor at Cornell. In an ideal world, this is how you should always position yourself in your chair:
Shoulders back and down
Chin slightly tucked to keep your head in a neutral position
Feet flat on the floor-not crossed or twisted under you
Knees lower than your hips

“Proper alignment also helps you place the least amount of strain on your muscles, ligaments, and bones,” says Stacey Pierce-Talsma, DO, of Touro University California. That means watching TV head-on (rather than craning your neck) and straightening up when you notice you’re slumping.
A few adjustments to your environment will also help, so move the computer closer to your chair and elevate it so your shoulders and spine aren’t curling forward. In the car, adjust your seat height so that your knees are slightly bent and lower than your hips. A pillow or lumbar support can help thwart slouching and keep your lumbar spine slightly arched, says Dr. Pierce-Talsma. These small tweaks to the way you sit-plus finding ways to work in more non-exercise movement-can lead to huge benefits to your health. That deserves a standing ovation.

14 Psychological Facts That Can Show You the Naked Truth About Life

14 Psychological Facts That Can Show You the Naked Truth About Life
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Human psychology is something we still don’t know a lot about. Scientists have barely even scratched the surface of it. But at this point, we already know of ways to improve our self-esteem by simply watching a soccer match, to spark our creativity, or to increase our chances of building a successful relationship.
In this article, Bright Side will reveal the most incredible psychological facts that will teach you something about yourself.
1. An average school student of the 21st century has the same amount of anxiety as a patient in a mental institution in the beginning of the 1950s.
Every decade, anxiety in children and adults is growing. And there are several reasons for that:
We don’t sense social constraints as much as we used to — we change our jobs very often, we rarely take part in any religious and other social organizations, we get married later, and we spend much more time alone;
We want a lot of things like wealth and a perfect relationship, but we have unrealistic ideas of what we should look like and how our partner should behave;
We receive too much bad news, especially about accidents and wars from the news, which makes us feel like the world is a dangerous place.
2. It only takes 3 hours to convince a person they’ve committed a murder.
And violence is not even necessary to accomplish this, it all can happen in a friendly atmosphere of conversation that looks a lot like an interview.
Many people know that when remembering some events, we rewrite the memory of them every time. Research shows that if an interviewer knows some details of a person’s life, then during a conversation, by adding several fake ideas and using special techniques for rewriting memories, it is possible to convince someone that they are a murderer.
Most people who took part in this experiment were convinced that they had memories of stealing something, assaulting people in their teenage years, or that they had injuries that they actually never had.
3. If you want to find love, take a dog with you when you’re going on a date.
If you show up for a date with a dog, your chances for success increase by a lot. People feel a lot more confident when they approach an attractive person who has a dog beside them.
A study conducted in Brittany, France, showed that girls are 3 times more inclined to give their phone numbers to men who have dogs. And in general, people walking with animals appear to be more trustworthy.
4. A favorite song is usually one that a person connects a very important event in their life with.
The songs we like are usually associated with some personal story that we have, a person, or an emotional event.
5. Some people may be afraid of happiness.
The fear of being happy may be present in people who had some sort of a personal tragedy during a time when they were happy. This is why they subconsciously expect something bad from happy moments and they do all they can to avoid them. These people may believe that they are introverts and they avoid going to parties and other pleasant events, but in fact, they are not scared of being other people, they’re just scared of the chance to feel happy.
6. The amount of stress a person has when they lose a phone is similar to the stress in a terrorist attack.
Even though the most stressful events for people are the death of a loved one or a prison sentence, the fear of losing a smartphone or being late for a train is estimated to be similar to being in a terrorist attack. The top 5 most stressful situations also included natural disasters (fire, flood), being fired, and a serious disease.
7. Keeping a diary can improve your physical health.
People who have eating disorders or who suffer from depression can benefit a lot from making everyday entries into personal diaries. Having a diary can make your immune system stronger, help you deal with stress, and even decrease the symptoms of asthma. And there is one more important advantage: you have a chance think about your mistakes in order to avoid making them in the future and also discover the pleasure of remembering forgotten moments of the past.
And you don’t have to write a lot: it’s enough to write just a couple of sentences every day, preferably around the same time. These notes will help you express your feelings and analyze situations.
8. In order to be creative, you don’t need to have good ideas, you need to have a lot of ideas.
Researchers found out that if people were paid for the number of suggested ideas and not for the quality, the results were better. But only in the case that they had little time to rest. And the recipe for being creative was the following: create as many ideas as you can, even the worst ones, after that, let yourself forget about them for a while and do something completely different for about 20 minutes. And after the break, return to the task.
9. A 20-minute walk in the park will make your happier.
Contact with nature makes us feel calm and gives us emotional comfort. People who spend at least 20 minutes per day in a park feel more satisfied with their lives. And it doesn’t matter what you do in the park: jog or just walk.
10. Background music decreases your creative abilities.
Any tune or song (in any language — foreign or native) hinders your ability to be creative if you listen to it while working. So if you are, for example, a writer and you work with language, listen to music only when you are not working.
11. In order to memorize something, it’s better to draw than to write.
Drawing is more effective for memorizing things than taking notes, visualization, or looking at pictures. And you don’t have to be talented: even primitive pictures can help you memorize things much better.
This is especially useful for elderly people: this way, they can maintain a good memory.
12. When your favorite team wins, your self-esteem improves.
As it turns out, people like watching sports for a reason: it has a positive influence on their self-esteem. Every time your favorite team wins, your mood improves dramatically for about 2 days. And when a team loses, it doesn’t have any drastic impact.
And it is much better to watch sporting events with other people. In this case, the joy of winning increases, and if a team loses, it’s easier to deal with.
13. Plan B decreases your chances of being successful.
If you are going to start something new — like set up a company or start a job in a new place, don’t make a plan B, C, or D. It’s just that by simply thinking that you have one more option, you decrease your chances for success. Start something new by burning all the bridges. In this case, there is a bigger chance you will achieve the result you want.
14. In order to push yourself to make a change, ask yourself, “Will I do this?”
If you want to motivate yourself to make some changes, like start a diet, stop smoking, or spend more time with your child, don’t give yourself an order like, “Now I run every morning, “I’m going to spend less time online.” Ask yourself a question, “Will I do this?” If you don’t feel any internal pressure and you can just discuss this problem with yourself, you might have the urge to act. According to psychologist, Ibrahim Senay, by asking questions, you make your mind work on creating motivation.
Do you think that modern people suffer from a lot of stress and is there a way to solve this problem? Do you have your own secrets for becoming happy? Tell us!

How to Build an Effective Remote Team
Tumblr media
Howdy fellas!
Never before has there been such a large number of remote employees scattered around the world. And several businesses that prefer a remote team building format still increases. It is a flexible and viable model if it is properly organized.
A work team is like a ship’s crew: everyone has a role to play in a huge effective system. A remote team is a virtual ship crew, a ship that floats in the future of work.
Like most IT companies, Standuply crew has a cozy office too, where we go to work every day. As an office team, we managed to reach considerable heights in product building, but it was time to expand the team. So we decided to set the course in the direction of remote team building and began to look for employees in other places.
Now, many months later, we know a lot about remote work: how to work from home, how to manage a remote team and how to create a business with employees who rarely see each other in real life.
Don’t get us wrong, we don’t want to say that everyone has to quit office work and start working remotely right now. We really love our office, but also we have an experience of remote team building and now want to share it with you hoping that it will help those who have not passed that hard way yet. So are you standing in front of the challenge of building a remote team and do not know where to start? Then this article is for you.
Cast off! We are going on our journey across the workflow! Remote workflow, to be specific.
Less is More
Tumblr media
This is the first rule that you need to consider in team building with remote employees. First of all, you need to identify the people you need and what they will do. No need to recruit a lot of people, just take three persons who will be able to do the work for the five. This does not mean that three people have to work for the whole company, it means that working remotely employee performs a greater amount of work than working in the office, making the same efforts and not being distracted.
Most modern IT offices are coolly equipped, there are a lot of bean bag chairs instead of hard ones, and even hammocks, you can play kicker with colleagues, and some offices like Google’s one reminds children’s town. We do not argue with the fact that a cozy office is indeed awesome because everybody should work in comfort.
Those who go into remote work just clearly understand that work is the work, not just a kicker.
They create a comfortable area around themselves for work and they have no temptation to have snacks with employees and games. They plan when they work and rest during the remaining time.
This rule is about minimalism. Remote employees just don’t need such stuff that office gives, such as table football, and bean bag chair could be at home.
Find an ideal employee
Tumblr media
Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest! um… startup.
Search for perfect employees, who will succeed in the project implementation and will strive to realize the global idea. Companies that hire remote employees are much more likely to find a candidate with the unique abilities necessary to perform tasks because the geographical search from one sea expands to the world ocean. There are dozens of such skills, but we have identified four main criteria, which we look at when choosing an employee:
– Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of.. enthusiasm!
Any captain wants each of the crew to share the interests of the whole ship, see him/her being proud of work and striving for common success. Enthusiasm is the fuel in the workflow ship that keeps it afloat. It all starts with an idea and desire to bring it to life. It is critical that applicants are interested in your company’s area. If a candidate at the interview did not even bother to read about the project on its official website, he/she would waste your time.
– Perfectionism (but not too much)
For a remote employee, it’s important to think critically and evaluate the work done objectively, especially if the time zone is different. Being picky and look at work as a head. The person needs to clearly understand the main goal, be able to break it into small ones and move step by step to achieve the main goal.
– Make work, not shirk
Office employees are used to working and getting paid for the time, for example from 9 to 6. Remote workers are paid not for the time, but for a result that should not be affected by any distracting things, whether it’s a sudden general cleaning or a kid who wants to watch SpongeBob right now. Or possibly it is you who want it, whatever. All this can cause the work to be completed in the last minutes before the deadline.
– Desire to work
And to learn. If the person is too lazy, has no desire to develop, and is looking for work only for money, most likely he/she is not interested in the company’s goals at all. The imaginary presence of a few working hours at the computer will not help this new fish to join the team. But what is more important is to contribute to the development of the company. It’s not gold that should keep a sailor on board.
As a rule, lazy employees are eliminated at the test task stage. If they are not really interested, they will not spend their time. You don’t need people like that.
We’ll talk more about how to cultivate these traits to go to a remote job as a job seeker and without any discomfort, but this article is not just about that.
I will call you yesterday…
Tumblr media
Or timezones problem. Well, let’s say you found the perfect sailors on your virtual ship, but here’s the problem – time zones. If the time difference is up to 8 hours, it is almost invisible. Anyway, most of the day you are in touch with the employee.
In some cases, you will have to initially look for an employee to work at your night time, which means a time difference of 10-12 hours because the position involves working in shifts, but 24/7.
This time gap reduces the ability to call/chat during the day, so you need to allocate a couple of hours to call and give as much detail on the daily tasks for the employee to prevent possible questions to you.
What about tools?
Tumblr media
For the most automated operation and correct processes resolution during remote team building, you will need some tools. Fortunately now on the market, you can find a lot of cool programs-assistants both paid and free and even choose by the price/functionality ratio.
– Messengers
Among messengers, we prefer Slack, of course. Our Standuply bot daily helps hundreds of teams to organize processes in Slack and to establish communication channels. Here you can read more about how to run standup meetings in Slack via Standuply. For us, this messenger is like an office: logging in Slack means coming to work.
Build a better team culture in Slack with Standuply too!
Tumblr media
Still, of course, we use Telegram and Skype. The first is more convenient for chatting, the second one is useful for calls.
– Tasks trackers
Notebooks in the past! Use task trackers to not keep all your plans, ideas and tasks in mind. In our opinion, Asana, Trello or Jira are the most convenient ways to plan your workflow as in a diary. All tasks can be painted on the urgent or not, and forget something very difficult because everything is before my eyes. Actually, the most difficult thing is to teach each team member to use task trackers and systematically mark each step.
– Time Helper
It’s not so easy to find common work time and schedule calls with employees scattered around the world. If team members are in different time zones, you’ll need the World Clock program for Mac. In other cases, Every Time Zone or World Time Buddy will help you with time planning.
– Cloud Storage
So, in a big team, you can not deal without a storage solution which extends to cover network drives. And in that case, for us, Google Drive has no equal. It will not only free up space on your hard drive but also make it easier to communicate with your team. It is much more convenient to share a link to a document and give access to editing instead sending the same file to each other for the sake of one little edit. In addition, if your computer suddenly breaks down, you can be sure that your documents are safe in the network.
– Remote Screen Control
“Ahh! I clicked something and it’s all gone! Devs please do something!” Huh, familiar words from employees who are far from coding, aren’t they? In such a situation, it is easier to do yourself than to explain what button to press. For remote support and screen sharing, you can use a wonderful TeamViewer that allows you to control someone else’s computer and solve the problem with your own hands. Also, this program is used for remote technical support of users.
Motivation
Tumblr media
It is hardly possible to single out a special motivation for remote employees, as for a separate type of employees. Each person’s motivation is individual, regardless of whether it is a remote or office employee. And it is important to focus on the person, analyze and to think, what is important for each one. The difference is that it’s much more difficult to understand the values and aspirations of the employee, whom you don’t see daily in the office.
Normally, it’s a set of needs, for example, an interesting area, a convenient schedule, and a decent salary. If the person is attracted only by the format of remote work or a good salary, but absolutely do not care about work itself, then it is unlikely to achieve good results.
Your sincere interest and praise even for the simplest tasks are very important for the employee’s good motivation. Did a newbie just solved a simple problem or came up with a new idea? Tell that person is doing great and you never would have come up with that yourself. Without any sarcasm, just let the employee know that he/she is important and much in the project depends. And then the person will do very best not to let you down.
Control your control
Tumblr media
Obviously, when you build a remote team, it is difficult not to worry about the employees’ productivity. How do you know if a person is really working if you are not sitting in the same room? But actually, the problem is not about hundreds of miles between you and the employee. The problem is about lack of trust.
Some companies force remote employees to install special programs on a personal computer for time control. These are accounting systems for website traffic and counting employees’ work time. We strongly don’t support such method (and we didn’t even mention these apps in the tools section) and that’s why:
Firstly, such a distrustful attitude kills any motivation and initiative. Your employee will do the job half-heartedly and just to work off the required hours.
Secondly… Really, if there is a need to control your worker so much, do you need such worker at all? People choose remote work for freedom and the opportunity to work for the result, not for the number of hours spent on the site. Remember that your remote employees are your secret weapon.
Give your employees the freedom they are looking for and you will be surprised how effective people can work if they are not pressured.
Instead of conclusion
If you follow these uneasy rules (who said that remote team building is an easy thing?), you can assemble a remote dream team. Because the opportunities for this become more and more widespread every day. New developments are emerging, the interest of remote employees is growing, and the owners of companies are finding more and more benefits of such a solution. Remember, it is not enough to find and organize really valuable employees. They need to be interested and motivated for the best result — and this rule is applicable for any type of teams.
So good luck and may the wind be in your jib!

Vitals to Monitor for Your mHealthcare App Development
Due to the advancement of modern technology, patients now have more options than ever, to quickly access inexpensive diagnoses, and in turn, appropriate treatments. One such option, Mobile Health (mHealth) technology, works to improve modern healthcare through the wireless integration of mobile devices with sensor-based hardware. Cutting edge technologies like IoT and custom mobile app development have eased and transformed the Healthcare and wellness solutions in multiple ways.
With this implementation, patients can experience better communication with health practitioners, monitor conditions over longer periods of time, and easy access and provide crucial medical information. Not only does this make healthcare services more widely accessible, but improves a patient’s overall experience, in terms of speed and efficiency.
Tumblr media
How Does mHealth Influence Healthcare?
We at Let’s Nurture, are privileged to have catered custom and robust mHealthcare solutions so far. With our experience, we can understand there have been huge implications of mHealthcare solutions in the healthcare and well industry. As it stands, the global health market is forecast to grow in value, to almost $60 billion by the year 2020, and the most influential factor in this is the use of and rapid advance in mobile devices and technologies. According to a recent survey, 84% of care providers use mobile devices for post-discharge support, 93% of physicians believe mHealth technology can help improve a patient’s health, while 40% believe it can reduce the number of office visits, and 74% of hospitals that collect data from mobile devices run more efficiently than those that don’t.
The 5 Different Types of mHealth Platforms
Mobile Healthcare apps can be broken up into 5 different categories that cover each of their basic functions, like monitoring, communication, and even wellness.
Telemedicine Apps:
For starters, Telemedicine Apps are designed with communication in mind, as approximately 75% of all medical visits, including urgent care and ER, are largely unnecessary, or could be dealt with just as effective over the phone or via video call. By eliminating the need to make a trip to the hospital, or the local doctor’s office, healthcare services become more convenient and accessible to patients, saving them time and money in the process. With all that said, it begs the question of whether or not patients even want to use this technology. A recent survey discovered that 48% of patients expressed interest for chronic disease monitoring, 49% for post-surgery care, 32% for minor injuries, and 36% for while they were traveling. To accomplish this, a prime example would be the Amwell app, 24-hour access to video and messaging services, connected to experienced healthcare practitioners. Not only can patients see which practitioners are available, but be connected with one in three minutes or less.
Personal Health Record Apps:
In the case of patient information, Deloitte claims that 74% of patients have to provide their info multiple times when dealing with multiple professionals. This can easily be eliminated with Shared health-related data, and allow doctors to focus more on their patients’ care, rather than collecting their info. The second category, Personal Health Record Apps, allows users to store, edit, and share their health data with healthcare practitioners, while seamlessly accessing their own electronic health records on the go. One example, Capzule PHR, accomplishes this in addition to adding family members, managing health records, setting calendar reminders and offering a visualization of previously collected data. In addition to this, Apple’s own health app allows users to store information like medication and lab results directly on their mobile device. This further eliminates the step of logging into a providers website by keeping all information in one, easy-access location.

Remote Health Monitoring Apps:
When it comes to chronic health conditions, the third category, Remote Health Monitoring Apps, are vital for keeping a watchful eye on various health metrics. This could include blood sugar levels, blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature, and even body weight, without the need for a trip to the hospital. A company called ChronicCareIQ has created an app that also includes a medical questionnaire of sorts, allowing patients to answer questions specific to their condition and giving doctor’s more information to analyze remotely. In the world of health monitoring technology, diabetes-specific apps make up 16% of apps already developed, and allow diabetes patients to monitor their blood sugar, body weight, and even their medications. Additionally, the App Glucose Buddy Diabetes Tracker even includes access to health trends among the diabetes community, providing more insight to and empowering, the patient with information, without the need of a doctor.

Reminder apps:
Keeping track of your medications is a helpful feature, but remembering to take them is an entirely different story and one that doesn’t always go as planned. Forgetfulness is the number one reason patients don’t take the medications prescribed to them and so, the fourth category, reminder apps, become extremely useful, even extending to setting reminders for things like doctor’s appointments, ensuring patients never miss a day or a dosage. Medisafe’s Pill & Med Reminder app also includes a push notification feature, automatically notifying patients of an upcoming dosage, as well as dosage and progress monitoring. This information can then be shared with the patient’s doctor for further analysis. It is even vital to for parents to remember vaccination dates for the children. We can also help in vaccination reminder applications with a number of features that also include doctors and parents engagement and health data sharing platform for Android and iOS devices.

Wellness applications and Devices:
Finally, more and more people are getting interested in wellness applications and devices, including fitness, lifestyle, and nutrition trackers. The IMS institute’s Patient Adoption of mHealth Report shows that mHealth apps targeting wellness make up two-thirds of all mHealth apps. These applications are mainly used to track exercise, nutrition, and general activity levels while providing things such as training programs and nutrition guides to help with reaching future goals. More often than not, these apps require another wearable device in order to gather data, which is then all stored in one place on the users mobile phone.
What Challenges Come with Developing a mHealth App?
If you are looking to develop a mHealth app, what is most likely to get in your way is privacy concerns, laws and regulations. As shown by the Deloitte 2016 Survey of US Health Care Consumers, patients are worried that the quality of mobile health services simply won’t measure up to a physical visit to the doctor. Therefore, your main concerns will be:
Building Trust – Patients currently just don’t trust mHealth apps, specifically the security of them and the quality of services they provide, so building communal trust in these systems is a must for them to be adopted into the healthcare system.
Privacy and Security – Everything has pros and cons, and the pros of digital transformation open up industries to the cons of cyber attack vulnerabilities. To counter this, the focus should be primarily on tools and technology that enhance data security.
Compliance With Healthcare Legislation – Regulations on protecting personal health information differ from country to country and, just like any app that handles sensitive information, mHealth apps must comply with these laws. For example, the US follows the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which governs how personal health information is collected, stored, and moved. Therefore, apps targeting the American market must be developed around these laws.
What Trends Are There in mHealth?
The main trends in mHealth app development are Blockchain Technology, Artificial Intelligence AI, and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). Blockchain technology is being adopted across various industries due to its high potential for safe, secure medical data storage and movement. However, as CB Insights notes, it’s still very early for blockchain applications in healthcare, and unlocking its potential won’t be a quick process. The use of AI in healthcare is greater than in any other industry, its main advantage is that while data is being gathered, it can process, and analyze enormous amounts of it. Future AI may even be able to diagnose patients based on their medical data and symptoms on top of the work they already do to manage and organize health records. As an example, Google has even announced that it is taking DeepMind Health and using it to turn DeepMind’s Streams app into “an AI-powered assistant for nurses and doctors.
Finally, the IoMT allows for communication between medical devices in order to exchange health-related data gathered from various tracking devices, allowing doctors to monitor patients remotely. The Apple Watch, for example, can monitor a user’s heart rate, alerting them if it’s higher or lower than normal. This data is then stored on the iPhone’s Health app for later use by a healthcare practitioner.
