found my design for the standard Isaac morgan lives au, its a bit messy but i dont have the energy to fix it. you get the general idea

i imagine that jack, susie, jaime and isaac just vibe on beechers hope after canon. Isaac was some kid that Charles found in the factories in saint denis in 1906 who he mistook for Arthur before realising that was his son. he helped them build beechers hope and stayed on the ranch, i do kinda see an au of the au where he goes with charles after american venom but thats not for today. anyway. i see jaime as some guy who showed up in 1914 like "you killed my dad!" for jack to be like "no that was my dad" and jaimes like "okay. i live here now" and never fucking leaves. he just decides yknow what im gonna live with my father's killer's son and daughter and their quiet friend who keeps sitting on the damn roof drawing birds

i hope to draw something of them all together at some point but my brain atm,,

timewarp au fun facts

'people who have been personally victimized by the o'driscolls' is a support group that meet once a fortnight. it's just kieran, annabelle and jake adler. sometimes arthur goes. activities range from hiking trips and volunteering at community centers to playing poker and getting drunk on the couch while occasionally saying 'fuck colm o'driscoll'

YES jake adler is there he pretty much lived as a survivalist and then happened to bump into the gang like oh you guys were born in 18-- too? he has the same tendency of getting drunk and crying about how much he misses his wife as sadie does.

as kieran adjusts to modern era and starts recovering mentally he develops a really dark sense of humor (well really he always had a dark sense of humor but he didn't live long enough with the gang be comfortable expressing it). some of his favorite one-liners are 'still in one piece' and 'nothing to lose your head over'

karen and sean actually end up having a baby which a) leads most to an existential crisis over whether they are considered alive or dead b) unabashed fear over what this child could become. her nickname is the crimson terror she's got sean's hair and brains with karen's personality. she calls both lenny and sean dad and jenny and karen mom. even this child knows lenny and jenny are her only chance for survival

arthur and eliza co-parent isaac. isaac is actually the parent in both relationships and is constantly having to explain technology and current era things to them. arthur still insists on teaching him 19th father-son stuff which includes fishing and how to shoot and clean a gun

arthur morgan at parent-teacher meetings genuinely failing to understand how isaac is in the wrong for knocking out a kid who was showing his girlfriend's nudes to the rest of the class

isaac definitely went to juvie. he was already committing crimes before jack showed up (he blames it on the morgan genes, which arthur hates)

i'm not saying trelawney is responsible for the time warp but i am saying 19th century america should really address the issue of seemingly omnipotent well-dressed men with amazing moustaches running around. trelawney never died but is present in both timelines. when asked why he can't go back and warn people of various things coming (don't kill micah, john), he simply replies it's a canon event.

trelawney has in fact tried this, which has lead to multiverses including the various endings of rdr2, whether javier is taken in alive or killed by john in 1911, or undead nightmare. he will no longer risk it because he likes being able to go back in time and see his wife and children <3 he learned the hard way they don't exist in every universe

Charles thought about the way Arthur took a freshly 19-year-old Lenny and made sure that he felt valued and respected in a gang full of men with years more experience under their belts. The way he reassured Tilly that no racist pigshit from Lemoyne was ever going to touch her if he had anything to say about it. The way he’d take Sean out for shooting lessons only to use it as a trap to start helping him learn how to read.  

Charles wondered if there had ever been any real sons of Dutch, or if Arthur had been the one raising everyone else since the very beginning.  

It occurred to him then that maybe Arthur, the first of said sons, had managed to survive his adolescence by Dutch’s side independently of any supposed “raising” that the man was said to have done. Maybe - though Charles was becoming more and more convinced on the idea the longer he thought about it - Arthur had managed to raise himself and Dutch had called that “parenting.” And when Arthur had continued on raising everyone else as well, Dutch had just kept on taking credit for it.  

No wonder Arthur was such a good father to Isaac, he’d spent his entire life having to raise himself and everyone else around him first.

Yes! I try to respond to every one, though some slip through the cracks.

Probably either Collapse (RDR2) or When the Time Comes (RDR2). Both are rough for Arthur emotionally.

Not on AO3. I have received nasty comments on FFN, though. That's part of the reason I don't post there anymore. The other reason is that FFN's user design is awful.

No, unfortunately, I never like how it turns out. Implied sex only over here.

No, but I've thought about it.

No, but I've done mini-bangs where I've written fic based on an art piece. So co-created, I guess.

Oh gosh... for RDR2, I do like Charthur a lot, but lately I've been thinking more and more about Albert/Arthur. And I like Genikiro for Sekiro. I'm not sure which is my favorite.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Freedom on the Canvas. To finish it, I would have to rewrite large chunks of it, so who knows if that will happen.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Outlining, believe it or not! I can usually create the main plot path of a fic fairly well in advance of actually writing. Details end up changing, of course, but usually the main plot stays the same.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Long descriptions and metaphors. I know I don't neeeeeeed to have a lot of those, but sometimes I read fics with amazing, detailed descriptions of the environment and I want to work on my own.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Hmmmm it depends on a lot of different things. How much dialogue, is there an easy way to translate it for the reader, does current narrating character understand the language of the dialogue? It's very situational. Usually, if the character understands the other language but the reader likely doesn't, I put English in italics with a dialogue tag for which language it is. I did do romanized Korean for one fic because the narrating character didn't quite understand it, and that way readers could also try sounding it out.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Ah, it was for a TV show called Person of Interest.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

How am I supposed to pick???? For Sekiro, it would definitely be Tea House. I'm not sure which of my RDR2 fics is my favorite.

Howdy, Everyone!

I recently posted a new AU fic, its a little odd, but hang in there with me. 

Isaac Morgan doesn’t die in the robbery that kills Eliza, and when Arthur goes to visit he finds Eliza’s cross in the front yard and Isaac has been living with neighbors down the road. Arthur against his better judgement takes Isaac with him back to the Gang. 

After Dutch kills Colm’s brother, Angus, Annabelle and Isaac are kidnapped on their way to town. Annabelle is killed, but Colm fakes Isaac’s death and raises him into his own soldier enforcer (and to spite the VDL Gang further). In the year 1899, Isaac, who has been indoctrinated into the O’Driscoll Boys for 10 years now, is confronted with his past, and Colm’s ultimate plan of revenge falls apart.

Yeehawgust Day 3: Caravan April 1889 Guthrie, Oklahoma Sadie could only look around Guthrie with awe.  She and Jake had been here five days and it had sprung up like a crop of bizarre wildflowers, pale canvas of tents and covered wagons blowing gently in the spring breeze.  As she looked east, she could see more wagons yet coming to join, a caravan that stretched damn near to the horizon with more new arrivals crowding in with the land race the day after tomorrow.The line at the land office, one of the few wooden buildings in town along with a general store and a saloon, held a serpentine line just as long, with men stretched around the block and then some waiting to register for their marker flag.  She couldn’t help but be grateful she and Jake had gotten here early to register and avoided the worst of it.But that done, all there was to do now was wait.  People couldn’t roam too far, else the Army would sternly shepherd them back into approved territory, or at worst, fire a warning shot.  With so many people, the game had been scared off for miles, so hunting was hardly worth the while.  That left idle time to do nothing but get acquainted with one’s neighbors in the tent city.  It felt damn strange, given her entire nearly twenty-one years thus far had been spent working hard every day except Sundays, and even sometimes then when the situation called for it.  Tumbleweed had started fading out too, so what chances there were for Sunday socials with neighbors had faded too.  Being able to sit around and do nothing but jaw and play cards, pick idly at a guitar and try to teach herself to play it?  It felt strange. But they’d done the right thing in leaving.  They had.  There was no future in Tumbleweed, and her mother had as much admitted it, and given Sadie and Jake her blessing to go seek their own fortunes, just as the Griffiths and Adlers had both done after the war going to New Austin from Pennsylvania.  So here she was, now two months a wife, now looking at staking a place of her own, and she could see the land here looked so much richer than that in New Austin.  It would be a good future.  They would make it one. Glancing over at her neighbors, she could see that same look of confusion at idleness.  Though Eliza and Arthur Morgan had a little boy to watch, so that kept them busy enough.  Isaac was a sweet kid, though, for all he was a restless bundle of energy, and he was currently busy playing with the Morgans’ dog, Copper equally exuberant.Watching Isaac playing with Copper, laughing and full of boyish joy, she thought about the news she had for Jake, and how he’d take it.  Another piece of their future, but for now she kept it as her own secret delight.  She’d tell him the day after tomorrow, once they had their land.  Once they could start to envision their home. Eliza glanced over at her.  “I still don’t much know what to do with myself,” she confessed, her voice a soft twang she’d told Sadie came from the Tennessee hills.  “All this waiting.”“Me neither.  But we’re gonna be busier than we know what to do with in a couple of days, I figure.”  All the business of putting up a homestead would begin.  Arthur Morgan had come back last night with a gleeful smile and a wink, telling them that he’d found a perfect site for him and Eliza, and that there was an equally excellent lot next to it if the Adlers wanted to stay neighbors past this camp.  She and Jake had readily agreed.  The four of them had formed a tight-knight friendship even here in this camp, spending time together, often cooking dinner together, and all of it. But Arthur, for all he’d skirted the rules, scoffed at the idea of staking his claim too early. Nah, none of that.  You got to win the race to that land fair and square.  But knowing where it’s at?  That’s just playing it smart.

She had to wonder exactly what kind of past a man who seemed to know nothing about farming but who could sneak past the Army like a shadow to scout out lots had.  It didn’t matter, she supposed.  They’d all come here for a clean start, hadn’t they?  He seemed like a decent sort, and he obviously adored his son, and looked at his wife with damn near worship in his eyes.  He and Jake had made fast friends already.  Nothing wrong with turning the rules to advantage. They’d agreed that she’d be the rider and follow Arthur on horseback for a fast ride to the right spot, and Eliza and Jake would follow with their wagons.  So they’d have a fine plot of land.  They’d have friends and neighbors to rely upon.  Their baby would have Isaac to play with as a friend.  New dreams, shiny as a silver dollar.  As she sat there in the spring sunshine, tipping her head back and smiling at the warmth of it, she had to think that life held all sorts of promise, and she was eager to drink deeply from that well.

Everyone complains but John finds himself quietly murmuring “seeing u tonight… it’s a bad idea right??” While he’s brushing his teeth

Abigail tries to be supportive and plays it while she drives the kids to school, now she and Jack know all the words to Vampire and listen to it once they’ve already dropped UMD off

-both Marston children always dress as something weird for Halloween

John and Abigail stay up late making the costumes for their weirdo children bc they love them :)

On a similar note when John and Arthur were kids they were little matching power rangers and if you bring it up to Dutch he WILL cry over it bc he loves his babies

-the entire Marston family takes Halloween way too seriously to be completely honest

Abigail and John are the cool family in the neighborhood with the really good candy

Dutch and Hosea have now graduated to the old person level of giving out full sized bars but the window of opportunity before they turn in for the night is SMALL so all the kids in their neighborhood sprint to their house first

-Because Isaac doesn’t live with them full time these two go absolutely bananas when he comes to stay with them, Charles is scrubbing down the house while Arthur clears out the grocery store of all his favorite snacks :)

Before he visits Arthur is texting Eliza like “what drama should I know?? Any new friends? A girlfriend? A boyfriend?!?” Just so he’s up to date

-Arthur loves Raisin Bran/Corn Nuts/other old man cereals

-we’ve touched on this before but Charles’ mom absolutely adores Arthur and when she comes over she’s basically shoving Charles out of the way like “my baby darling Arthur how are you!!!🥰”

-Isaac plays baseball and Charles and Arthur are full on sport dads in the best way possible

They bring snacks for the team, they’re sitting in those little fold up chairs, they’re cheering louder than everyone else in the stands, etc.

Arthur ‘sentimental ass’ Morgan keeps a little box of all the memorabilia from baseball throughout the years :)

This was a particularly silly batch, methinks. As always if anyone wants me to add other characters into this universe lmk😼 alsooooo I have started writing little oneshots/drabbles/etc expanding this if anyone would be interested in reading them!! Hiii I wanted to ask what you think happens to Micah in the timewarp au cause modern Micah is such an enigma and it's so funny to me. Do you think he's coping well with modern times? Or does he just respawn and immediately tries robbing a mc Donald's or smth. Could def see him doing Florida man throwing an alligator through a Wendy's window type shit or just being the Wendy's employee getting the alligator thrown at him.

Also speaking of Florida man do you have an idea of what state they live in currently in modern au? (I love hearing peoples takes on where in America they think rdr takes place, especially when they're talking about where they'd be in a modern au)

i am so conflicted because like. gang with memories and knowledge of what happens in the future.

arthur wants to kill micah. yes he's been thriving and has a happy life with hosea and bessie and the boys and being a part of isaac's modern life but imagine the guilt he would feel knowing he was dying anyway but if he'd killed micah in 1899 it would've literally saved lives and it might have meant the bureau never went after john in 1911. the absolute arthur 'blames himself for everything that ever happened' morgan would consider himself personally responsible for every life micah took/destroyed post 1899. and arthur has 8 years to plan. 8 years.

but i did let dutch live so why not micah. gotta give rat bastard man a of love

micah respawned in a denny's parking lot to the sight of arthur morgan with a baseball bat. no context. no understanding what's happening. it's late evening. there's street lights and neon signs and who fucking cares they immediately pick up where they left off in 1899 which is beating the living shit out of one another.

cut to them both bloody and bruised in holding cells at the local jail still hurling insults at each other while hosea is just standing there wondering what the actual hell he is meant to do.

said incident immediately landed micah on a list of people not allowed to be sold guns and it is like neutering a feral dog. the first time micah cries in his life is at a walmart being told he isn't able to buy a gun. even if the gang want nothing to do with him like they are getting a phone call sorry to interrupt your evening sir but there's an adult man throwing a tantrum on the floor

the gang are forced to admit it isn't morally correct to a) let micah loose unsupervised in modern era or b) leave him to fend for himself and die. micah ends up living in a trailer park. he embraces redneck culture. he eats so much fast food the servers will call for a welfare check if they haven't seen him in more than three days. he gets a job at a paintball center because damnit if he can't have a gun he will have gun-adjacent. he is the conservative dad-bod southern hick hero of teenage boys everywhere

what's really funny is isaac morgan's best friend (other than jack, obviously) is malachi bell who is a direct descendant of amos bell. because he has known isaac since elementary school: and young isaac did not understand his experiences of being murdered and reawakening in modern era were not universal: kai is fully aware of how the timewarp works ie sometimes he goes with isaac to visit grandpop hosea and there will be a very confused freshly warped outlaw sitting on the couch. the fucking phone call of 'hey remember how my family was super weird around you at the start because you look scarily like your grand uncle who kind of killed my dad and was murdered by my uncle GUESS WHO JUST TURNED UP'

micah is the best terrible uncle a kid could ask for and is honestly super attached to kai even though kai is his polar opposite in every way out of spite. kai goes to micah's trailer for dinner. says he's vegetarian. goes again and micah went through the effort of getting tofu. says he's allergic to soy. inherited all the bell snark and none of the tendency towards evil

micah and arthur in a fistfight at a barbeque while kai and isaac are both just standing there 'i'm sorry about my family'

an underappreciated micah fact is how much he cared about baylock. he would get the exact same level of giddy as the rest of the gang being around horses in modern era. while living in a trailer is not ideal for having a horse he does have a massive black 'looks like he could kill you but is actually a giant cuddle bear' bully-breed dog because as much as he was afraid of dogs (fight me) he is actually more afraid of being alone. his dog eats at the table with him. micah eats mcdonalds while his dog gets lovingly pan-seared steak.

his dog is a kill-shelter rescue named baymax and micah has no idea about disney movies and doesn't understand why people giggle at the name.

to the second point i am not american and have no idea wheeze but i think texas?? texas is where most people seem to think new austin is based on?? in rdr terms they're probably on the northern side of modern day blackwater like there's the bay to the east, mountains to the north and desert to the west. pls if there are any americans what fast food place would micah bell III dedicate his life to and what state should they be in
