so i found this pair of promotion images for good omens season 1 on the good omens reference library server and it’s hooked me so so bad im having feelings about it. we’re analyzing them now. not really for meta purposes just fun to see the parallels and differences :)

unique traits

aziraphale:

1) his plank background. its older, its crisp, it smells like wood from the screen. mmmm

2) the pencil shavings at the bottom. he does a lot of writing honestly, so i like this. also adds a messy and cozy vibe he always seems to have in that shop…. i like that blessed shop fr

3) his SUSHI. little soy sauce drops near it too—just the right amount of deliberate mess. our first formal introduction to aziraphale in the present day and beginning the Tomfoolery just happens to have sushi... i watch that scene and i go “yeah, that sums up aziraphale i suppose” very nicely. (they dont have sushi Up There) (im literally never gonna forget that)

4) the ray of light shining on the scene. tiny thing, but a bit of the heaven is peeking through..it also sort of blurs the whole image but i think thats just me.

5) and we’ve saved the best for last: the big whopper. the nice and accurate prophecies of agnes nutter, witch. I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!!!!! i cant remember if that ring stain was there but if it isnt in the show on the actual book i’d assume thats to add that ‘thy cocoa doth grow cold’ thing. ALSO. you know what’s being used as a bookmark in the pages?? a check for the ritz. he bookmarked their one chance for living . with a ritz check . MMMMMM. my GOD. that means so much to me even if i cant convey it in words. he KEEPS THE CHECKS 😭😭😭😭😭😭

crowley:

1) let me get my favorite out of the way. crowley’s glasses have fire in their reflection. we’ll talk about the glasses themselves later but the REFLECTION IN THEM. fucking FIRE, BOOKSHOP fire, PAIN, SRIVING THROUGH THE M-25, HELL, I DONT KNOWIM HAVING FEELINGS!!! i do believe this is a bookshop fire reference though, the flames feel too Familiar. the lengths people will go to to attack others 🤧

2) the leather seat background!!!!!!! probably meant to look similar to the bentley’s seats but i cant recall their texture, exactly. maybe just meant to convey modernness—unsure. still, its there <3

3) the tiny little crisp plant </3 its trying his damned best to stay perfect. it might a specific plant that means something, but i cant tell at thsi angle, so i’ll assume its a mini version of the ficus he keeps in the flat. its so SMALL and sitting in ANOTHER POT i CANT

4) the snake slithering!! black and red (in this image it looks orange lol) bellied scales!!!! slithering there, chilling, being crowley, showing hints. love it

5) QUEEN RECORD!!!!! TRYING TO OVERRIDE IT WITH TCHAIKOVSKY!!!!!! the tape over it does a reminisence to crowley’s handwriting, but in a clean ‘this made made to be a font’ way. not exactly just yet. ive become a fan of tchaikovsky recently. amazing darling wonderful crowley, trying to push the rock up the hill for eternity 😞

6) HIS LITTLE DEMON KEY THING. HOLDING A TINY LITTLE BENTLEY CAR KEY OHHH. thats how he doesnt lose the tiny key despite probably not needing one of those. and he CHOSE that intentionally probably. little wings and red circle….URGHHHHHHH

similarities

mmmmm now here’s the good shit. similarities! i’ll bullet point most of them but ohhhhh. ohhhh these. i’ll go from top to bottom as best i can….

1) one of their shoes, obviously. crowley has them iconic snakeskin shoes while aziraphale has his old loafers like the old loafer he is /pos

2) chateauneuf de pape wine bottle labels! (crowley’s is under his glasses, aziraphale’s is next to his shoe). oh my fucking god theyre MATCHING. the labels are old, battered, of course labeling the drink’s age, but mmmmm its these tiny details that get me going….

3) their respective drinks in their mugs—crowley’s a black mug coffee (or what looks to be coffee) and aziraphale’s angel mug tea (or what looks to be tea). i think about that mug sometimes. where did he get that from?? mystery for the ages….

4) their glasses, of course. crowley’s iconic sunglasses and aziraphale’s reading spectacles. i cant really tell the reflections in this pair, but if its supposed to be fucking fire, im done with this. im giving up forever

5) their own watches! aziraphale’s is visibily older while crowley’s is visibly modern, but they function just the same. also, crowley’s is set to 2:56:59 (presumably PM), which is around the time we see when crowley starts checking his watch at warlock’s birthday party. its almost time for disaster to strike!! 😃

6) and finally….their ties!! they have their own ties!!! or more accurately, neck accessories, but i digress. i mesn i assume its crowley’s neck tie, because the fabric looks… different. either way, crowley’s neck thingie is very whispy and aziraphale has his funky little bowtie i love so much,,,

okay thats it. there’s no canonical implications, any fantheories, none of the sort. just saw a pair of images and my mind went GOD DAMN!!!!!! theyre very important to me. i need to look at more promo material 😔

When I heard about this, I immediately thought about Book 7’s trailer, where Malleus is in some dark abyss with NRC’s coffin gates in a split-second shot. For a long while now, I’ve had a feeling that something may happen to Malleus at the end of book 7. I’m not sure- seeing the cage of thorns and the NRC coffins gives me a bad feeling! 🤣 But now that I’m seeing this connection between him rising from the coffin,,,hm 👀

Also the dorm leaders being inside!! 👀 It has me even more curious about what the coffins rising in the soundtrack teaser means. It’s really giving the vibes of being some sort of ritual. Crowley’s prologue and Malleus’ Overblot seems to parallel each other in the sense that everyone is put under a sleep that only they themselves can wake them from (e.g Crowley unlocking the coffins and Malleus’ Fae of Maleficence).

So I’m wondering why these six coffins are floating- and if they really do have people inside them 👀 A lot of the official art seems to nod to this, but the purpose behind it is what has me lost. ahhh I don’t know what this means, but I’m intrigued! 🤣

Actually this is completely sidetracked and unrelated to what you said, but thinking about it, I wonder how Crowley’s gates makes others unconscious inside. Epel has a similar ability, but that’s his unique magic with his own coffins. Malleus’ magic can make others sleep and not wake until he breaks his spell. So I wonder how the whole gate system works, and why Crowley specifically unlocking the gates is what wakes the student. Perhaps these sort of gates can be enchanted to do this, but it’s a very intricate system that I wish we knew more about

Final Thoughts:

this episode was so much fun!!!! we may not have gotten much of the Parker/Eliot duo but I’m still happy that they got to tag-team! Parker learning how to socialize, be a team player, and lead was just 👌👌👌👌👌👌 wonderful so proud of her T^T Alec was amazing (obviously) and fucking killed both for stalling the case and winning it <3

not as much Nate/Sophie moments besides them acting like parents to their teammates and being a well-oiled machine 😎 so I’m still satisfied! a little disappointed that there wasn’t any hint for the finale but that might just be because of the messed up order again 😔 

overall: wonderful episode, this might be my favorite of the season (tho Miracle Job still has my heart)

Good Omens 2 Spoilers

This is all me being absolutely normal about it.

I need everyone to know that I don't speak English, I just went through all this through the translator and I don't have the strength in me to correct it. It's three o'clock in the bloody morning and I barely finished the last chapter I wrote this.

The second season of Good Omens ripped me apart from the inside out. I saw absolutely nothing before the premiere, neither the trailer nor any post about it, I didn't even stop for the theories (well, I did a little) and the fanarts.

And my God.

I'm fucking crying and I don't know if it's the good way or the bad way.

Aziraphael and Crowley if they knew each other before they fell 😭😭, they were friends who hung out. Aziraphael apparently misses those times a lot. Crowley is so cute in this, like, I legitimately feel like I could sit down with him and have a lively conversation that doesn't involve alcohol or dolphins.

(Also, the scene where Crowley covers Aziraphael with his wing from the meteor shower (what were those things???) made me squeal with the same energy as a little girl when her parents tell her to buy her favorite ice cream).

Aziraphael is apparently a landlord??? like, wtf (And Crowley lives in his fucking car with two (2) boxes of plants, lol). I really liked Maggie and Nina, although I feel sorry for Nina and the whole thing with her (ex)partner (although it's also pretty obvious that the chick was kind of intense).

Crowley going back to the bookstore after his fight with Zira (and his run-in with Beelzebub) to protect him is very 😭💚💚. Crowley has actually been helping him since time immemorial (and wouldn't it be a happier world if he could continue to do so?).

The whole street probably thinks Mr. Fell has weird fetishes, just imagine the rumours.

It's fun to think about how Miguel got a desk based on Gabriel saying he had one.

Crowley suffers directly for lending his precious car to Zira, and he still does it because he loves it. (Also, Muriel is just too adorable in all of this, dammit, I want to give her hot chocolate and a pat on the head for her good work 🤧).

How come Gabriel and Beelzebub developed their bloody romance before the beings that were rightfully "running around" for six thousand years????? It's the funniest and most pathetic (for my ineffable (😭😭😭) husbans) I've ever seen. It is also sweetness that rots teeth).

Crowley's angel costume is fucking hilarious.

After the whole climax is resolved (I'm not commenting on it too much, I'm still processing it) Crowley finally gets up the nerve to tell Aziraphael his feelings (with a lot of help) but is interrupted by Zira, who (dramatically a bit) told Crowley that he could return him to when they were both happy together, like angels, in heaven, which shows us that even though Crowley is Crowley, he prefers the No-fallen-angel-Crowley in order to fulfill his perfect fantasy. And yet, after that, Crowley confesses to Aziraphael, offering to stay together, just the two of them, on his own side. Azira can't accept that, and Crowley can't accept Azira's offer, and after a kiss (which felt like a stab to my heart) they went their separate ways.

AND END

I don't know how to feel about it; my expectations for their relationship was that they would hold hands, not that.

The ending is so perfect and yet so fucking painful 😭.

I need a 3rd damn season (or not, I really (very painfully) liked the ending it had, though the whole second coming thing in the finale has me 👀 if you know what I mean).

Well she was just mentioning men that had made unwanted sexual advances to her, one of them that resulted in rape and that she was even more angry about. Jerry's was jerking off in front of her. He wasn't forcing her to watch, so I'm not sure why she didn't leave. She had no problem smacking him, so she should have smacked him there honestly. This is not the first time I've heard of him jerking off in front of a woman, but the other time was consensual. But Hope Holiday's stories are inconsistent as I've said before. Like why participate in documentaries about his genius, and why was she concerned in the other documentary that she has slapped him too hard? I just have many questions. Then someone in the film industry that knows her, told me that she has some early dementia, so who knows how accurate the story is.

Anna Maria Alberghetti was actually mentioned in the Vanity Fair article. She had just said that he pursued her even though she told him that she has a boyfriend. But honestly quite a few people have said that they were having an affair. Patti was upset at the gift of a real diamond tiara that he had given her. Patti stormed on the set, and asked her for it apparently. Anna was also in The Jazz Singer with him during the filming of Cinderfella.

I haven't found any actual fans of Jerry's that have turned on him honestly. Many seemed to have not been surprised. Many wondered why it was news suddenly. But I haven't seen any personally tell me that they were going to stop being a fan over it. At the time, I made a pretty detailed post, about how I felt about it, and why many men are likely guilty of being sexual harassers. There are no excuses for it, but I said men sending unwanted dick pics, or videos of themselves jerking off to women, are just as bad as what people are accusing Jerry of doing here. Half of men today have sent unsolicited dick pics/nudes apparently. That's disturbing, but not surprising.

Are we really all that surprised that the guy who put a bday candle on his erect penis to show to Norman Lear and Ed Simmons in a hotel room, was also whipping out his penis to women unsolicited? Not really. Should he have? Absolutely not, but this was Hollywood, where men didn't give another thought to sexual harassment, and it was encouraged especially in film. Just look at Hollywood Or Bust, where Dean's character forces himself on Pat Crowley's character, and tries to aggressively kiss her and hold her down. She rightfully gets angry at him and tells him off, but not 5 minutes later, they're making out??? What signal is this sending? I also will continue to bring up the fact that my now boyfriend, on our first date, touched me in places that I felt uncomfortable with and honestly should have slapped his face. But he honestly still doesn't comprehend that he did anything wrong, by not asking permission. He apologizes when we discuss it, but he still says that he was just really attracted by me. Obviously now, I know that he is a sweetheart, and an amazing and good man. I love him very much. But in this he was very much wrong, and he's lucky that I gave him a second chance. Parents have to teach their sons and daughters to keep their hands to themselves without consent, and their private parts to themselves without consent. Women don't want unsolicited dick pics or men whipping it out, which is the same crap.

The only thing that makes sense that Silver would be the first is because when he poses when sleeping (any sleeping position of him makes everyone swoon)

Rook likes— wait scratch that, LOVES anything beautiful so it'd make sense when art is where you create the most little thing into a gorgeous piece of art.

Trein as an admirer might be more platonic than romantic, this guy's has (theoretically?) a whole family + grandkids.

Trey must be immune due to have the most chaotic dormmates of Heartslabyul, and must be amazed on how I set things??

I simply cannot understand why Jade would be the top of my class, especially when it's animal linguistics. He is an eel but it still doesn't make sense to me. But Malleus picking me as his fav teacher? 🔥🔥 YES! I'm boring so what?? I'm his fav teacher what else could you expect?

Wouldn’t it make more sense that Yuu just passed out and off camera they got up and ran to Ramshackle?

It would explain why their hand wasn’t healed by malleus or anyone else. They were alarmed by Grim attacking them for no good reason, called Adeuce for help and passed from exhaustion because the path from Ramshackle to the Colosseum is kinda long.

And adrenaline is a hell of a drug so in that alarmed state they could’ve ignored the wound completely and just focused on getting to Ramshackle in case Grim was there or just wanting to be somewhere safe.

Now why Ramshackle and not going to any other dorm for help might be because it was really late, and they weren’t certain if getting people involved beyond Adeuce and Crowley would be a good idea.

It does make a lot of sense! ^_^ I feel like it’s all currently up to debate, because the chapter ended so abruptly with the corners of Yuu’s vision going black. I think it’s been commonly interpreted that they blacked out because of them, and the lack of the scene of running away from Grim. Yuu running back on their own is very possible- because they did also apparently text Deuce and Ace even though it was never explicitly said that they did in Book 5.

This interpretation makes a lot of sense for the ease of the chapter- admittedly not everything has to be explained especially with how fast paced some parts can be :0 I think TWST has left so many crumbs and unanswered questions behind (some of which that are certainly a “Chekhok’s gun” situation that will be seen again in the future), that it’s hard to tell which ones have importance and which don’t.

Honestly, I’m just holding onto my Crowley crumbs…I’m making up pretend scenarios for him to try and cope with the fact he hasn’t been in the main story since forever 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣 Perhaps wishing that he carried us was too much of a strong wish 🤧 Jokes aside, these are all excellent points Camra! 👀💖🐦‍⬛

I knew that Crowley’s voice actor Mitsuru Miyamoto voiced Ultima, but I never actually stopped to listen to it, and I’m???? 😭💖💖💖🐦‍⬛ It would be an incredible Overblot voice for him 😭💖💖💖🐦‍⬛

Also I’m dying at these lines.. “The avarice of man drives her ever close to destruction. But she may yet be saved- by you. It is what you were born to do- why we nursed you and fed you as your own mother should have. And now that you are fully grown, our Mythos, it is time at last for you to serve your purpose.” And the response to these lines?? I love it🤧💖

I now have the satisfaction of hearing Crowley’s voice be so ominous 🤣 Now that I’m thinking about it, the first several Overblots revealed a lot of emotion in their voices. Screaming, evil laughter, overall tones of voices that the characters normally don’t speak in. But Book 6 and 7 with Idia and Malleus have shown to have more restraint in their Overblot, and a lot more in control. Their voices don’t veer *as much* from their usual ones compared to say, Azul’s Overblot or Jamil’s. So…I wonder if Crowley were to Overblot, that he would lose a lot of the theatrics in his voice, and have this more emotionless vibe like Ultima because he has more restraint over his Overblot form >_> Crowley’s voice has been known to get serious in very rare occasions, so I think this would be the perfectly unsettling direction to take for his voice if he Overblotted.

who is your favorite side character?

i mean idk if anathema is a side character considering her importance in season 1 (not being aziraphale or crowley doesnt make you a side character i think) so a true true Side Character would be hmmmmm sandalphon. I KNOW ITS STRANGE but hear me out. he's a weird and gross (derogatory) archangel who has a large potential backing him up and it interests me. also his few lines we hear are surprisingly funny 2 me. war without war. his gross smile. something smells...Evil. THE SOUND OF MUSIC QUOTING. sodom and gomorrah. the STOMACH PUNCH (not in a good way, i do hate him for this). yeah, thats really it. i dont like him much at all actually, he's just There and he makes me Imagine, which is all i can ask for of a side character 🙏

what is (if you read) your favorite type of human au for good omens? (ex. coffee shop au, surgeons au, plant store au)

mmmmm i havent read too many human aus as of yet but there are some ive seen and love, like astonaut crowley/mission control aziraphale...i say truly my answer is "plant shop owner/bookshop owner" because mmmmm you can never go wrong with a good bookshop owner aziraphale. its his calling, man. theres also a delicious dynamnic there of a possible enemies 2 lovers (being rivaling shop owners on whickbur street 👀) and all, so thats WONDERFUL <3 what more can i say? but i also have to ask....does "human (but not really)" count ? im writing one of those currently and using that dynamic i just described but like. thyere Not actually human. its very complicated but they TJINK theyre human when they arent in actuality. so they live their lives believeing this before theyre forced to confront it....mmmm i dont think that counts im so sorry i just wanted to mention the one humanish au i have atm 🤧🤧 but i suppose if i were to qrite a true human au itd 100% be plant owner/bookshop owner. you can never go wrong with it 🥰🥰🥰 UGH THIS GAME IS SO GOOD AND NICE!!!!!!!! thanks for the ask ❤️❤️❤️
