...where there was ANOTHER MASSIVE BLIZZARD. -.- That just figures, right? Felt like the entire game was against me opening the store at this point.

But! I was not going to give up on the grand opening so quickly! So, after taking some time to make sure all the shelves were fully stocked and everything on them was set for sale (which was a very tricky process, given I'm selling a lot of small items and if you turn the "for sale" tags on they can very easily overlap with each other and trick you into believing stuff is set for sale when it isn't), I took a few pictures to show you my lovely lovely full shelves, transferred some money from the gang's personal account to the business account --

And bought a weather machine! Because like HELL was I going to let this miserable weather stand when I had the power to change it. Alice got sent out to clear the skies while Victor and Smiler hung out inside chatting...

Aaaand, as you can see, she wasn't successful. In fact, she just got straight-up electrocuted, though I didn't manage to get a picture of that, unfortunately. She promptly ran inside to talk to the motivational posters instead (maybe she needed a pick-me-up after that), then serenaded Victor (still slightly smoking) while I sent Smiler outside to try their luck. Fortunately, THEY were able to get the result I wanted -- possibly because they have higher Handiness skill? I don't know, all I know is that they didn't get zapped.

However -- even the magic weather machine can't change the weather INSTANTLY. It was going to take some time for the snow to clear out. So Smiler came back in for a congratulatory kiss on the cheek, Victor Repairioed the busted sign above the bakery section (can't have broken stuff on the first day open)...

You have moved into a new town with nothing but the clothes on your back. Well at least Mr. Nook was nice enough to give you a new home even with the work you'll have to do to pay him off. It’ll be tough but you’ve quite the knack for building and your neighbors seem more than happy to cheer you on.

Move into an empty lot and build a small house. (Optional: Make your house a Tiny Home Residential lot and choose what tier to work with from there.)

After one day, move two single townie sims into your neighborhood and become friends with them (If one of them becomes your founder’s spouse, make a new neighbor to move into their old house.)

Neither the founder nor spouse will hold a job, they will make money via at home activities like painting, fishing, etc.

Have a room to display your collections

At the end of every sim week, use cheats or mods to remove half of your household funds (to pay off your debt to Mr. Nook) until both your sim and their spouse reach the adult stage.

Sources say these two have been secretly dating for the past few months. TJ is typically hush-hush when it comes to her dating life...so things must be pretty serious here.

📌 After dating for 7 years or so, Deijah and Jaron finally called it quits. Ultimately he was ready to settle down and try for babies, while She was focused on her nursing career, after leaving the military. Her plans of Nurse Entrepreneurship are well on their way (as she begins scouting locations for her med spa). With the encouragement of her best friend, she signed up for the dating app, Meet & Mingle, because dating in her city is...trash (to say the least). After a few weeks on the app she received a private message from TJ. Those private messages soon turned to texts/video calls...which turned to a few trips to San Myshuno to spend time together. Surprisingly enough, they bonded over their shared love of boxing. As TJ packs up & prep's for her move/b-ball season to start, she's looking forward to flying Deijah out for various adventures, with her adventurous ass. 🙃

Meanwhile, Jaron is engaged to Atira (She's an Editor or something at SMOGUE last I checked) and they are expecting their first child. 🥴

Even though they were doing long distance, San Sequoia wasn't far from San Myshuno. River and April still visited eachother, keeping their relationship alive. But it just wasn't the same, and the young couple were growing impatient.

Eventually River saved enough money together to buy an engagement ring. On Valentines Day he went to San Sequoia to take April out to dinner. But before their date, he met privately with her father. Fortunately, he was impressed with River and was happy to give his approval.

After their date, River bent down on one knee and proposed. And April said yes.

but! before i go - I went and compiled all of the Vampires trailers I could find! I wasn't familiar with all of the shorts and I'm not 100% sure I found them all. There are a lot of contradictions, but aside from the gameplay trailer they can mostly be stitched together.

Also, I recognize I'm trying to wring blood from a stone, reading into things that EA never intended, but ya know. That's the point of exploring lore!

this is mostly validated by werewolves - Lily's dialogue confirms that Caleb was turned by Miss Hell, and the 7 years unlucky mirror confirms that Vlad ambushed her while she was brushing her teeth.

It looks like the bar Miss Hell attacks Caleb in is supposed to be in Forgotten Hollow. There are plenty of reasons he could've been there, but to me that implies that Lilith turned first, and he was there because that's where she hangs out now.

It looks like you're supposed to be able to see the normie parts of Forgotten Hollow from that cliff with the bench, rather than just more of the mountain. There's definitely supposed to be more than just those 5 lots.

I'm not sure if the person behind Miss Hell in the bar is anyone specific? they feel slightly familiar but I might be thinking of Leila Illes from island living, which came out afterwards.

It's unclear how Caleb ended up in the bathroom or whether he asked to turn - the animation is the same either way. In game, I've had a lot of success with both bat-form bathroom ambushes and the good ol' "ask for woohoo and then cancel the order as soon as you're alone together" maneuver so either is plausible. To me, it looks like she's reenacting her transformation, with her as Vlad, so she would've wanted unwilling prey. I've generally thought that Caleb followed her into the bathroom thinking he was going to get laid, but with that in mind it does make sense that she would've just ambushed him when he got up to pee (poor humans and their bladders can't handle their nectar). @charsimsalot has a lot of interesting things to say about how being forcibly turned would have affected Miss Hell in this excellent post about the apartment they built for the rebellious vampires!

That bathroom door is on backwards. I checked - that door only has a sign on one side. Maybe they really wanted to hammer home the point that this is a bathroom? the sink and toilet do a pretty good job of that...

Caleb is not a daywalker in this trailer - since this seems to show him in his earlier days, that 100% checks out. It takes 15 skill points to become a daywalker, which... yikes.

note: I know the sims is very gay these days but do keep in mind that vampires was released January 2017. Gay marriage wasn't fully legalized in the US until June 2015. It was a big deal that Caleb suave kissed a guy in the trailer!

fun fact: the song used for this, deadly flo, seems to be either very cheap or free to license. It is used in a few episodes of the Baking Championship franchise. Y'all, that franchise got me back into baking and directly inspired GOBC. I lost my absolute shit when I heard it playing! There are also parts of Holiday Baking Championship that sound suspiciously like the sims 2 theme... I kinda wonder if there's a simmer in their sound department.

Not really that interesting - earlier versions of their outfits/vlad's dark form. Lilith cannot actually turn into a bat in-game.

vlad bloodvein can use "deprive needs" (must be a master vampire at minimum)

brandy can turn into a bat (should be a minor vampire at minimum)

based on the view outside Brandy's bedroom window, it looks like the virtuous vampires might live in an apartment in San Myshuno?

this one doesn't even seem real, but as far as I can tell it was in fact released as a teaser for the full trailer.

This is the official trailer - it lines up reasonably well with other lore. Also the song is so fun.

Most notably: this trailer shows that Caleb is the one who turned Inna. No context is given. Other promotional material & the in-game paintings show that she was a thrall, potentially for hundreds of years before Caleb turned her.

The exterior of the house where Caleb turns Inna looks exactly like Wolfsbane Manor. However, Inna's bedroom doesn't match any room in the manor. It looks like there is a nearly identical house where Widowshild Townhouse currently is, so either Inna was in that house, or Wolfsbane Manor has since been remodeled. It would be kinda interesting if Caleb and Lilith decided to buy Inna's old house when they moved...

When Caleb turns into a bat, he's in the graveyard to the left of Vlad's house. Maybe he and Lilith lived with Vlad for a time? It kinda looks like Vlad had a lot of vampires filtering in and out of his place.

Elle real horny. I wonder what happened to that guy - he isn't a gallery vampire but he shows up in a lot of the paintings. As far as I'm aware Elle doesn't show up in any paintings.

This trailer is an absolute mess. It contradicts enough existing lore that it shouldn't be taken as any sort of canon, but it's a decent source of inspiration to fill in the gaps, and I pulled heavily from it when I was choosing powers for the gallery vampires.

Elle uses her mist form (I checked the animations) - she must be a grand master. She can use Command.

Markus Crow has supernatural speed - must be master+

Lilith is using a computer at the beginning of this, which feels weird because this is supposed to be at least 50 years ago. That said, technology doesn't advance in the sims, so, sure.

This makes it look like Vlad just broke into her house and turned her like he did with Miss Hell, but to me Lily makes it sound like Lilith was a more active participant: "I remember when my cousin, Lilith, first told me she'd met a fascinating man named Vlad. After that, she started spending a lot of time "training" with him. I thought she meant they were workout buddies. It wasn't until later that I found out she'd been lured to the dark arts."

Lilith's bed is a reward from the painter career - not sure if the implication is that she earned it herself?

I can't really see outside Lilith's windows, but it does kinda look like Forgotten Hollow? Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me - why would she and Caleb have to move to Forgotten Hollow if they already lived there? That said, that isn't Lilith. And that isn't Caleb. This was from when their names were Gina and Raylan.

Note that "Raylan" doesn't have the good vampire aspiration, and his traits are completely different. The others aren't quite the same as the gallery sims, but at least they still have the same names.

Looking out the window, it looks like the Virtuous Vampires are in Forgotten Hollow with everyone else. In one of the shorts, it looks like they live in a big city. I'm not sure which I like better!

Lilith is used as the example for supernatural strength. While she doesn't actually have that in-game, this is part of why I like to make her fitness 10 brute with vampiric might.

Elle continues to be real horny. Who is that guy? I like the implication that they had to go get it on as bats because Vlad was taking a nap and they couldn't fuck in his coffin :(

Bonus! While this isn't a trailer, exactly, it's a promotional blog post from Vlad's point of view and it is the best. Every last part of this makes me happy, from Caleb and Lilith ganging up on Vlad to Vlad referring to sparring matches as "epic duels" (or, in this particular case, what seems like a pretty good training sesh for Caleb).

Nothing about Lilith makes it seem like she doesn't feed on people except a) her household description and b) this post. That said, those two things about as primary as canon can get.

Vlad only fought Caleb. There could be so many reasons for that - was Caleb the one who made the challenge? Does Vlad not want to fight his offspring?

Vlad claims that the Encyclopedia Vampirica is mostly based on him. Make of that what you will.

Second bonus: Did you know that Vlad has a normie cousin??? There was a bit of promotional content for seasons involving the Climate family. This is that time they invited Vlad over for Harvestfest.

lots of stuff in the works so far, I’m so excited.

As you can probably tell San Myshuno is my most fleshed out world. I recently got a mini pc and none of my files would move from my Mac without saying the came was corrupted so all this is starting from scratch.

2 “series”/storylines will be announced soon both taking place in the city. A few townies from the base game will be there that I feel fit more in the city than their respective worlds.

Also, I LOVE SIMS LORE. I think it’s so interesting and hilarious but the Sims 4 has little to no lore. Many sims from past games will be coming back to life in my save as well as family dynamics *cough* Landgraab and Altos *cough*.

I will also be changing the canon lore a bit for my gameplay so be ready for that.

My goal is to post everyday or every other day from the start October to November so be ready for that.

Sooo... in a crazy turn of events, I played in my Not So Berry savefile again and had so much fun! I got the urge to get back into this family after going through my old posts on here. So expect to see this family again I guess!

Where I last left off, Elio, Rosy and their little dog Prince are living comfortably in San Myshuno. Elio is a highschool A student but so far doesn't have many friends aside from their cousins. Meanwhile, Elio's mother Rosy is level 10 of the Politician career and currently dating a coworker whom Elio doesn't like very much.

➤ highschool sweethearts Ethan Norton and Trinity Hayes (now Trinity Norton) recently moved into a new home in widenberg from san myshuno with their daughter Sage and bernese mountain dog Loki. wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city with Trinity being a full-time artist and Ethan being a best selling author, widenberg seemed to be the best option for its serenity, besides it was where it all started. after a lot of planning and searching they were finally able to settle into the perfect home in windslar, widenberg somewhat near both their family homes for sage’s sake, but just far enough for peace of mind.

Winter 1914

I think it's always a bittersweet day when a mother realizes her little girl is well on her way to becoming a young woman. We recently celebrated Elsie's twelfth birthday and I hate to admit it, I found myself getting quite misty eyed when letting down her skirts for what feels like the fourth time this year. She's closing in on me heightwise and I swear just last year she was only at my elbow. She's looking so grown up even if she's still in short skirts and pigtails. Her hair has recently darkened to more of an auburn than the fiery red of her father. It's almost a combination of his and my coloring now.

I made a special birthday supper for her; she loves fish and Will was able to purchase a beautiful carp in town so we had that fried up with some tomato preserve. The real showstopper was dessert though, I made a coconut cake - a flavor none of us had had before. I had seen the recipe in my Ladies Home Journal and when I came across the coconut at Greenfield's it just felt serendipitous. They're ugly things and quite hard to get open, but the aroma was very pleasant. The cake turned out lovely, I even caught Charlie licking his plate, a behavior I strictly admonished. As a birthday treat, I wouldn't let her help a whit with the cooking or clean up, even if she has become quite a hand in the kitchen.

She's grown into such a responsible young lady, I am quite proud of her really. She's always quick to help and is quite accomplished with her embroidery and knitting. She can be a bit fanciful at times, no doubt encouraged by all the fantastical stories my father tells her and Charlie; I haven't the heart to tell them they're all embellished to high heaven or just pure fiction. The faith of youth is such a special thing and all too soon the world will feel more real. Time certainly sneaks up on you, I recently came to the sobering realization that I was only six years older when I married Hamish. It seems of late more and more of the young ladies of Brindleton have been finding beau's from further afield, Britechester or even San Myshuno. I can only hope Elsie won't stray so far when she marries.
