Harry Potter and the Muggle Therapist
Therapy, but Make it Mutual:
"Snape Survives AU"
featuring Harry forcing Severus Snape to go to therapy with him because they both went through so much but Severus is still being Severus
Harry: "You owe it to yourself."
Snape: "I owe myself silence,Potter. And perhaps a fatal dose of Wolfsbane."
Harry: "Look, I’m paying. You just have to sit there and listen, you don't even have to talk."
Snape: "This is not about money matters ,you foolish boy. You're telling me I survived Nagini for this?"
Harry successfully forced Sev (pleading with his big green eyes) to group therapy
Therapist: "Let’s start by identifying common ground."
Harry: "We both almost died like ten times."
Snape: "And yet here we sit. Cursed with resilience and damned to exist."
Harry: "Also we both had terrible childhoods and authority issues."
Snape: (grits teeth) "Don’t you dare relate to me."
Therapist: (started writing notes over notes since Snape entered the room)

There's a name for that shape: brothers
Harry trying to prove Draco is a death eater but Ron and Hermione not taking it serious is the same as Snape trying to prove something was going on with Remus since hes ill once a month and disappears at night but Lily not believing it and I think that's so fucking funny. Why are they so similar in so many ways it's genuinely kinda crazy

Hi! What do you think about Wrong-Boy-Who-Lived with Severitus? What if the wrong Potter is doted on by the parents and Severus is forced to take care of the spare child until they grow close, until Harry takes the name Harry Prince just to spite the Potters? What if out of sheer hate he joins Voldemort and his adoptive father helps? It's a whole thing I'm thinking about, totally not a wip, i swear... /lh
- @arcturus-night-star
OMG!!! While it’s not my favorite trope of all time, I do love a good wrong boy who lived with Severitus. I’ve read quite a few fics with a similar premise and always seem to enjoy them.
I especially love when Severus just goes along with Harry’s choices, sticking by him whether he decides to go dark, gray, or stay on the light side.
(Personally I have a preference for dark/gray Harry)
ESPECIALLY, when it’s a main point that Severus is loyal to ONLY Harry when it comes to his vows/love for Lily. It’s very interesting to see a character who has such a strict code for himself that doesn’t necessarily rely on morals but instead on their love for another person, it creates such complex situations within fics.
If you ever finish that WIP send it over!!! The Severitus fandom is always hungry for more (I am no exception please)

omg some of those are so fun!! 💚
11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?
I have such a hard time killing my darlings 😭 I never want to. But I do it!! even though it’s hard! I did it not even like a week ago. There was a whole severitus plot line in build me no shrines that I was super attached to and I cut it, because it wasn’t working. I was crying the whole time and now I have a separate severitus fic that is in no way related. But yes I have a darling graveyard, usually they don’t stay dead long and get turned into new fic ideas
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
I mean, I’ve been doing creative writing forever it feels like. I wrote little short stories as a kid and drew really terrible comics. My mum got me this novel writing program that had a code for an online forum when I was around 12, and so I started writing a novel (I finished it too! I was 13 and it’s actually insane, the plot makes no sense, but like!! I did it, 45k of nonsense. my mum was so proud) but I joined the forum and it was a bunch of other kids all 12-17 who wanted to write books too. I kinda stopped for a while in high school and uni because I’d been told I couldn’t do anything with writing, that it was too hard to make a career out of it and I was better off doing something practical (haha jokes on them I went into art). Then in like… 2016? I had a brief little period where I wrote a couple Merlin fics, they didn’t do super well and I got a couple nasty comments that kinda put me off writing fanfic at all. Then in uhhhh August last year I got really into Harry Potter again after I broke off a toxic friendship with someone who said I couldn’t be queer and also like Harry Potter, so as a giant fuck you to them I joined the first HP discord server I found — which I kinda found my people right away and now I’m quite happily inhabiting my little corner of the internet and writing my stupid little stories.
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
Okay I don’t think I’m crazy organised but then I’ve been told I am, so idk make your own calls. I’ve got 2 physical notebooks, one for my two long WIPs and I just kinda put a coloured sticky note in the pages whenever I switch the fic I’m writing for, and a second book for random ideas and notes and stuff that usually gets transferred to the appropriate document later. The idea notebook is very small and lives in my pocket in case I’m out and need to write an idea down. But I don’t really take a lot of physical notes. My docs and folders though are perfectly organised. Docs are put in folders with their fic (or in the case of one shots, a folder for that) or like my general writing folder if it’s a resource, but I have a naming system that I use for all my projects, based on what kind of file it is so they get tagged with like [OUTLINE] or [WIP] or whatever is relevant. There’s a colour coding system within the documents (so like as I’m writing, notes to myself are always blue, notes on a character are green, sections that need editing are highlighted in red, sections that I’m currently working on are orange… and a few other colour keys that I won’t bore you with) and then I have a spreadsheet I use to track wc goals and overall progress and stuff. I’ve thought about using that “make your own wiki” site that was shared with me a little while ago (or I’ve got a subscription to WorldAnvil for my D&D notes, so maybe that) to start organising my lore notes a bit better, but that’s a fairly large project and I might just stick to what’s working for me.

A list of great drarry fics:
Harry/Draco
Everything listed should be complete. I link to the first copy of it I stumbled over.
Malfoy Flavor by Vorabiza.
Summary: Harry’s ready to banish the Golden Boy image and take charge of his life. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for him there are still more surprises in store for him. Somewhat of a sixth year, Severitus and Slytherin!Harry fic.
Rec: I can't give a wholehearted endorsement of this, but I did really enjoy it. A lot of the writing/dialogue is quite funny and I'd be fibbing if I pretended I didn't laugh through a lot of it.
Circle of Serpents by Kungzoune.
Summary: Harry and Draco have been in a secret relationship for a while. What happens when the order of the Phoenix finds out
Rec: Not an exceptionally deep story, but I did find it amusing and something pleasant to read to wile away some time.
The Man in Draco's Bed by Cyane Snape.
Summary: Lucius is hysterical…actually he would rather be dead. Draco has arrived at Malfoy Manor just in time for the Christmas Holidays…with his new husband, Harry Potter-Malfoy. The Malfoy Code of Honor™ demands that Lucius protect his new son-in-law and Voldemort is coming for Christmas dinner!
Rec: I howled... enough that my husband finally stared at me like I was more than normally insane and asked what the hell I was hooting about. *wipes away the tear tracks* (There is a sequel, but I didn't enjoy it as much.)
Raspberry Jam by v v c.
Summary: Draco tries not to think of his upcoming transition and the unwanted partner chosen for him by his father. Then he finds he may have a choice after all. Will the faith he puts into his choice be rewarded? HPDM A slow, soft romance.
Rec: I liked this, despite not being a huge fan of magical inheritence/maturity fics. Granted, I had to toss on my rose-coloured glasses and squint slightly at the characterization—these are more mature versions of Harry and Draco—but once I accepted and stepped past that, I was able to merrily read through and appreciate a story that was defined, written nicely, and kept a very steady pace. I also liked some of the theories behind it all, such as the warding on the house at Privet Drive.
Time out of Place by bananacosmicgirl.
Summary: Harry wakes up with a throbbing head, but he soon realizes that a headache is the last thing he has to worry about. And what part does Draco play in it all? Timetravel, AU.
Rec: I don't actually buy into the reasoning behind what happens in this story, but so long as I can remember to ignore that part of things, it's an all right read. In some respects, though, I feel cheated by how it ends, given what happens right before they get "sent back." I see nothing in the list of published fics that would explain the "after."
Deny Thy Father And Refuse Thy Name by Piri Lupin-Snape.
Fiction Rated: T - English - Angst/Romance - Chapters: 18 - Words: 101,523 - Reviews: 229 - Updated: 12-22-02 - Published: 6-4-02
Summary: Harry's in his 7th year and secrets, lies, and betrayals only add to the burdens of who he is. Can love and friendship help him overcome his trials, or will he lose himself forever? HPDM, SSRLSB Severitus challenge fic
Rec: This story was okay, but confusing. Part of the problem is when it was written. There was no OotP, which makes a huge difference when it comes to deciding who is related to who and any number of things that crop up.
I didn't dislike the story, but I don't wholeheartedly love it, either. Chapter 17 (in particular) is like a comic soap opera with the kind of information coming out and the given action. (I was vaguely reminded of the movie Soap Dish, actually.)
Anyone giving it a shot should know within the first chapter or so if they'd want to read the whole thing.
Merlin's legacy by kungzoune.
Fiction Rated: M - English - Romance/Action/Adventure - Chapters: 22 - Words: 108,048 - Reviews: 809 - Updated: 2-20-07 - Published: 12-16-05
Summary: slash HPDM Harry Potter was destined to be a great leader of the light. Too bad that Dumbledore made the wrong decision and proclaimed Harry's twin sister as the chosen one. Will Harry grow up to become the wizard that he should be or will he be Dumbledo
Rec: No, it's not the best story in the world, and it very definitely falls into what I would consider a super!Harry category (along with a handful of other people in his life). Time travel, the founders, Merlin... still, it's a decent story to spend some time reading. There's not really a lot of angst or even conflict, and what troubles there are seem to be dealt with fairly easily. Tons of gay people! (Well, okay, three gay couples, at least.)
Those less tolerant will find themselves growling at the sheer amount of mistakes, though, as this does need a firm beta with steel wool and scrubbing bubbles. (The redundancy in some places is really awful.)
Seamus is Seamus and You are Yourself by Ari Munami.
Fiction Rated: T - English - Humor/Romance - Chapters: 19 - Words: 28,859 - Reviews: 1412 - Updated: 4-30-03 - Published: 7-27-02
Summary: Harry goes through some... er, changes before Sixth Year. Everyone, including Draco Malfoy, sits up and takes notice. DM/HP.
Rec: It's damn funny to read in my opinion. While it's not marked as complete, the full summary does say it is, so... The idea of Draco Malfoy skulking around in a trenchcoat and trilby....
Single Wizard Seeking Same by jennavere.
Summary: Lovelorn Draco has been secretly pining for Harry for months. He's finally forced into action when ex-boyfriend Blaise shows up. A gift!fic for Prof. McKitten starring an awkward, smitten Draco and a cameo by Harry's chest monster.
Rec: I don't believe it for a second, though it's funny to read this after DH, considering. At any rate, it's romance, and a fairly amusing one at that.
Freudian Slip by jennavere.
Summary: Two years after graduating from Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy is still obsessed with Harry Potter. Fed up, his father makes him get therapy. Harry/Draco Romance/Humor.
Rec: The humor is obvious just from the title, but effective enough to see me chortling my way through this story.
Intrepid Teenage Hero by jennavere.
Summary: To save wizardkind from falling into the Dark Lord's evil clutches, intrepid teenage hero Harry Potter embarks on a dangerous quest: infiltrating Malfoy Manor and getting information from Draco using highly unorthodox methods.
Rec: I'll give this a head nod. It's mildly amusing, but the word that really comes to mind when I read this was "layers."
Gold Tinted Spectacles by Beren.
Summary: Harry's sixth year has come and gone, part of him has been alone. As his seventh year dawns he's looking for something and he's not sure what but he knows it's out there and involves Draco Malfoy.
Rec: If I recall correctly, this has loads of 'super!'ness in it, but that must be okay, or I wouldn't have willingly read this more than once. (Meaning, I'm making this rec without having read it recently.)
Wolf by Aisling-Siobhan.
Summary: Harry Potter is a snake in lions clothing. What happens when he sheds his skin and revels his true green and silver colors to the Wizarding World? Add to the fact Draco is engaged to Ryder Hammond. He doesnt know Ryder and Harry are the same person.
Rec: A rather bizarre story, actually. Somewhat confusing at times what with the time turning, but overall it's an interesting read with some unique twists and definite points of humor.
The Silent Killer by She Who Cannot Be Turned.
Summary: When Harry turns seventeen he finds something out about his past, well… more like about his bloodline. He decides to make good use of it… starting one death eater at a time...
Rec: Ridiculously silly and fairly humorous. Could use a beta, and it is a bit scattered at times, but overall it's a nice way to spend some reading time without having to stress one's brain. (ETA: I forgot to mention the obsession Harry has with CSI, and how he sucks his friends into it as well.)

Get to know me game
tagged by @allalrightagain 💚
rules: tag 9 people you want to get to know better
last song: I’ve had Blood for Blood by Sarah Sparks on repeat for like 5 hours. It's a theme song for Edmund Pevensie but it also feels very Snape-coded and if you haven't heard it I'm begging you to go listen to it. I get re-obsessed with it like every few weeks when I remember how good it is.
youtube
last show: I haven't watched a lot recently but I think the last thing I finished was season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina and i'm still not over it
currently watching: nothing at the moment, I've been getting back into my gamer era recently
currently reading: I'm re-reading the Harry Potter books and annotating the series because I realised it had been a few years since I'd actually read the source material and I couldn't separate fanon from canon anymore (or was mixing up book and movie canon). My kindle app ate my notes on the first three books and I'm starting again but on paper this time where the stupid app can't destroy weeks worth of work again. So I'm back to the Philosopher's Stone.
current obsession: Deathloop, without a doubt. I got it and told myself I'd play it and then Outer Worlds, which has also been on my list for a while and... yeah. I've played Deathloop twice and nothing else this month. I could write several essays on truly astounding game design that Arkane studios has managed to pull of once again, but in an effort to keep this short(ish) I'll refrain. Dishonored is still my favourite game series because I still don't think anything will top the care that went into every aspect of that franchise, from the music to the concept art to the level design, but Deathloop has come the closest out of anything I've played in the last several years. The fact that both games come from Arkane Studios just speaks to the crazy talented designers they've got working for them.
(though my fandom answer is that my Severitus obsession has been coming back full force the last few weeks)
Tagging: uhhh,, oh no I hate this part, sorry in advance if you've already been tagged!!! @bluestringpudding @luxuriousmalfoy @girl-with-goats @gloivy @momo-t-daye @the-francakes @lunapwrites @nanneramma @vitaminpops

I think it would be even funnier if Snape acts like that one kid at the doctors.
therapist: so… it says here you were bullied, is that correct?
Severus: *looks at Harry*
Harry: *sighs* yes, yes he was bullied
