i totally agree with you! the marauders are a blank canvas to fill your own head canons and opinions so it feels exciting to see what writers perceive the characters in their work. i really enjoy the literary aspect of looking for clues when reading whether it be x reader or character ships.

i totally agree with you with sirius and i think to add is the fact that the fandom makes him so hyper feminine and remus alpha male n strong -something about that irks me so much. i half blame it on atyd but that’s just what i’ve gathered from reading the fic so far (haven’t finished it yet)

i also want to see more wlw ships!!! there’s so much potential and angst that people ignore for mlm, and that makes me so sad. like give me dorlene fics PLEASE!!! im tired of seeing my baby marlene being sirius’ crazy ex or lily getting in the way of jegulus (i hate jegulus with my entire being it should’ve stayed as a joke)

I don’t know weather or not to be shocked at how quickly the marauders have filled my waking thoughts since joining this fandom (for example, I read ATYD over a year ago, I can’t stop thinking Grant Chapman still)

That’s you and me both darling. Like my obsession started progressively and I’m at the point in which I live and breath marauders.

I read ATYD? Got myself a pair of Docs, also around a year ago.

Literally yesterday I received two pairs of converses, a brown pair for Moony and a bright red for James (I was already obsessed with converses before that so it makes sense to add them to my collection).

I have marauders shirts, and hoodies. Even my friend from Germany send me a marauders shirt because they know how obsessed I am atm lol

And with writing GC I feel like the obsession has just grown stronger. I literally have Remus and Sirius’ funkos on my desk, they’re with me when I write ᥫ᭡

So yeah, the chokehold these boys have on me it’s insane. So I totally get you.

Side note, the fact that I remind you of pirate Rem is so sweet, but it like makes sense because of GC but then you said I remind you of Poet!Sirius?!?!?

And literally today I was thinking (because I accidentally bumped onto a live pianist on TikTok and decided to listen while writing) that imagine dating a pianist and being a writer and just peacefully writing in your apartment while your pianist s.o. practices for their concert and I was just like, yeah… that’s my new goal on life.

update: i've finished choices this very morning (yeah i stopped reading it for about a month when i realised i only had one chap. left... talk about not wanting to let go—). 

i have to say this one made me love james so much more (tbh wasn't really a prongs girlie before). still not sure about jegulus post hogwarts (and jegulily all in all) but jegulus in hogwarts is now canon to me lmao. i loved loved loved the depiction of reg. but I have to say, I’ve always hated Lucius so much and always will, but I kinda had a hard time picturing him as a predator ? A legit adult-bully to reg and a cruel-egocentric-coward tyran, sure, 100%, but a predator ? Not so suuuuure, but maybe it’s just bc it really made me uncomfortable to think about the fact that he is a father so.. yeah. Besides that I loved reg storyline. oh oh oh and cerci has my heart!!! I think i prefer atyd-marlene but mary, sirius & remus felt pretty much the same or not radically different at least (atyd is my canon argue with the wall), and i feel like this fic just gave me more depth to their characters. not sure how i feel about lily. atyd-lily reminded me too much of hermione, choices-lily kinda doesn't fit with how i picture her ? but it kinda does, but it kinda doesn't ? i guess to me lily still feels like that one person you like but you can't quite read through. anyway i really like her family-background tho, and i loved reading the bits with petunia (and the fact that lily nicknamed her "tuni"). annnnnd i loved the peter pov in the epilogue. SO NOW the mission is finding a good fic about peter really, bc does anybody in this fandom has a really good explanation to the betrayal bc to this day i don't get it. 

ok that's it. can't wait to break my heart on another canon compliant fic.

Ps: honorable mention to the fact that after all those years it took me to read a regulus fanfic to catch up on the Remus as in Romulus & Remus…… (27yo and had several years of latin courses in HS, never put 1 + 1 together like.....)

Things I love about Remus Lupin (as characterized in ATYD, but much of this is fandom wide):

1. I have a decent sized scar on my face across my cheek. Most people tell me it's not that noticeable but I notice it and every time I touch my face I'm reminded of it. Since reading ATYD and getting involved in this fandom, I've decided scars are just cute wolf boy energy so anytime I'm like "oof my face" I just put on my remus cosplay. Like even though Remus is anxious about them, Sirius kinda likes them.

2. Sweaters

3. His music tastes. Like I had never really listened to Bowie or most of the artists featured in ATYD and now it's my comfort playlist. Music hasn't made me feel like this in a minute.
