i have many thoughts on lee gilyoung and kim dokja but i fear i may explode if i try to articulate them fully

there is something to be said in the way kdj and orv as a whole really tends to sidestep lgy. like kdj cares about lgy of course. and orv obviously wants us to care about lgy or else they would have killed him off for shock value or fridged him way earlier than they did or something. and yet he remains in the main story but still on the sidelines

i think there is something very sad to be said about how kdj very openly tends to love on/lavish attention onto sys and like consciously acknowledge that she is, in many ways, his daughter, yet doesnt really do the same for lgy. there is something very sad to be said about the way kdj tends to refer to sys individually, but only to lgy in the collective "kids." there is something very sad in the way kdj saw himself in lgy the first time he saw him on the subway and saw him both as a boy to be saved and a tool to be used and i dont think their relationship ever really recovered from this.

like he cares about them because he doesnt want to be a shitty father-figure but hes a shitty father-figure because he cares. and while sys is saved from the brunt of this to a degree because shes a character so he can just mimic how yjh treats her in worldlines where she's saved and get by on that, lgy doesnt have that kind of support. lgy is not a fictional wunderkid or pitiable, fragile little girl (however true or false that assessment of sys is). hes a snot nosed foul mouthed violent boy obsessed with bugs and death and kdj, i think, knows he ought to care for him but he doesnt know how and doesnt bother to learn and that, i believe, the not-bothering that is, is what truly incriminates him as a shitbag father. hes afraid so he doesnt try and lgy spends 90% of orv being terrified kdj secretly hates him and the worst part is hes almost right

Probably the annoying clingy drunk kinda monkey too ugh. Oz doesn't get drunk, so she's usually on the receiving end of any drunk monkey shenanigans.

One time Sun Wukong insisted that he can drink her under the table. he didn't, his ego is bruised so he showed up one night already tipsy at her door with a jar of wine, demanding rematch

idk if anyone else sees the vision but i dont think bunny would be into a fwb type of relationship with you. this is because it would complicate things (he doesn't trust himself to be able to pull away if he ever comes to know your taste and warmth) and his whole thing is not giving you any expectations because he wants company, not intimacy. so a lot of your tension pre-relationship is mostly psychological. and it fucks with your head so bad.

bunny won't kiss you, but he'll let you take food from his plate whenever you guys grab a meal together. bunny won't fuck you, but he'll listen to all your complaints and whatever gossip you want to share over drinks. he does subtle things to look after you like covering your drink when you slip away to go the restroom and paying for your tab at the end of the night, even if he had teased earlier on that you'll be covering it on your own this time.

but the thing about bunny is that no matter how sweet his actions may be read as in hindsight, the way he acts in the moment won't give you any room to read too much into it. his eyes are steady and mildly amused, always, and his smile is a practiced pleasant curve. his eyes do not soften. they go neither cold nor warm — when he looks at you, there are no expectations in his eyes. he's just your friend, a guy who's not looking for anything but your genuine company. a guy who's not looking at your body at all.

the audio plays on in the tablet propped up against a stack of cups on the kitchen island. it's some random actor's interview, he recalls, that somehow ended up on his autoplay while he washed his dishes and tried to decompress from the day. simple, repetitive motions like this (lather, scrub, rinse, repeat) usually helped him calm down, but lately it's been getting harder and harder to pretend at control like he usually does.

he's been spending more time with you now that it's the off-season. that's probably why. he doesn't have as concrete of an excuse as practice or team meetings to get out of hanging out with you, and it's easier to just say yes than to refuse you anything. you're a walking test of tolerance, you know that? you make him sick, sicker than he's ever been with all your genuine joy and energy, and you make him want to stay sick if it meant being able to stay next to you just a little longer. it's exhausting. hanging out with you is like trying to get over an allergy through exposure therapy. like you're a shrimp and he has the world's worst seafood allergy.

the thought steals a snort from him mid-scrub, a quick sound that he quickly hides behind a cough in the same breath. his stomach roils at how warm the idea made him feel, how easily the thought of you being like an allergy (a shrimp, of all things) he exposes himself to near-daily made him almost smile, and he all but slams the metal cup he just finished rinsing onto the drying rack with hands clenched tight. he stands there at the sink for a while, letting the noise from his tablet flood back into his head before he starts thinking too hard again.

it's still the same interview, he draws a long breath, and the video's nearing its end. he closes his eyes and focuses on the words instead.

"— you need to be a good liar to be a good actor. you're selling a story of something you're not after all. if you want to convince the audience, you first have to convince yourself."

So its been like a year since I touched Hazbin but I found some unfinished doodles, and drawing these two is always fun. Anyway, Lucifer doesn't abuse his power actively, but he does it in the sense that he knows that Alastor can't touch him (even when he tries), so he's free to try very very very hard to win the guy over by the sheer power of being annoying. It's basically his new long term project. It throws Alastor off, makes him angry, but no one can deny that Lucifer is actually pretty fucking entertaining. It keeps Alastor on his toes, which is FUN, which in turn makes him MAD.

i know jack whole story wraps up with him realizing everything he craves was right there in the city all along i knowwww that. Alastor: they gave you their souls until said favor is called upon! You not using it has apparently given you the reputation of a very lenient overlord, a defensive and protective one at that! So more people cane to you, you trianed them in defense and most gave you their souls so you could call upon them for a favor at a time of your choosing!

Alastor: On top of that, the other overlords seem to be threatened by the fact you have so many souls and demons going to you WILLINGLY, you not showing up to meetings and beong little morningstars girlfriend doesnt help that either!So this will be a fun first meeting~
