if ur worried about your style being basic lemme tell you its sooooo distinct. like it does fall in that like beautiful pretty boy style category but the specific shapes you use are very distinct, like the way you draw eyes and mouths and the overall shape and silhouette. everytime i see a piece im like ooh duckysprouts youre one of my favorite artists on here ill be honest. there is a deep admiration i have for people that can draw the most beautiful faces ever and you can rlly do it like no other. its like catnip to me

One thing I love about Hughie is that he’s the main character, but in such a “y/n” way. Completely unremarkable, ordinary loser who gets dragged into a life of crime and adventure by accident and whom everyone falls in love with upon meeting him, most of the time for absolutely no reason. Butcher wants to be his manic pixie dream psycho so bad, but then also breaks his own back to protect him. Frenchie and MM would kill Butcher if it weren’t for the fact that it’d make Hughie sad. Annie is a 10000/10 and wants to spend the rest of her life singing cringy teen music with him and and easing her way into pegging him. A-Train ended up with his life hopelessly tangled with Hughie’s and can’t seem to let it go. Victoria spent her breaks sharing snacks with him, knowing he’s murdering Supes — and never stopped trusting him, to the point where she came to him when she had every reason to believe he’d want her dead. Soldier Boy literally escaped endless torture and spent 90% of his newly won freedom trying to impress Hughie by putting on a little macho man show for him. The only person who’s truly immune to Hughie and his “putting his hair in a messy bun before getting sold to 1D” charm is Homelander, who genuinely just hates him. Fascinating character design, all in all.

no bc ethel’s take was so valid. nobody cares or takes anything seriously anymore. i’m turning off the typing quirk for this becoz i have a lot to say

we have truly lost the meaning of meaning. being passionate about something is now seen as “lame” and “doing too much.” trying to find a deeper message within something / someone is deemed cringy & unnecessary, and perhaps it is, but it shows critical thinking and creativity. replying, “i’m not gna read all that” is now the superior response: refusing to ingest an object & explore its enigmas and instead turning a blind-eye. obviously, there are times and places where those responses are absolutely called for, but using it when people are genuinely curious & sharing their passions / work honestly makes me unbelievably angry. why did we stop caring? why does everything have to be so rational and simple?

and to ethel’s point, everything has turned into a joke — something to be mocked. i’d be hypocritical if i said that i don’t participate in these jokes & sometimes go a bit too far, but more often than not, everything is reduced to a half-assed joke that will be dead in a few days but will continue to be made again and again for months. it belittles actual great works of art & works into a caricature — as ethel said. as someone who quite frankly does think way too much, it is so infuriating to see people dumbing down something with so much potential to be great as “doing too much.” that has to be my least favorite phrase to come out of the internet — doing too much? you mean somebody being passionate and working hard to create art? we are so doomed.

i am very very aware that i am just complaining & that obviously people still do think critcally about things deeper, we’re literally in a golden age of knowledge right now. it just gets frustrating when everyone seemingly cares about these things, but the moment you participate in it you’re deemed weird and overreacting. i don’t know if this makes any sense but i had to make a post about it bc my mind has just been plagued with this subject for weeks. there’s a video analysis from unsolicited advice that highlights what i’m trying to say a lot more cohesively & ties history into it.

I still can't get over the Circe Saga.

Hermes gives Odysseus a tool to even the playing field. He anticipates and encourages Odysseus to overpower her on a physical, magical, and sexual level. He phrases this help as "us[ing] more than words." He wants Odysseus to give up speech and mercy as much as the other gods do.

But ultimately it's Odysseus's words that save him and his crew. It's him telling Circe about his faith to Penelope that convinces her to help him.
