It's the late Roman Republic...
Now put in the tags what you selected and who you THINK it's referring to... Because I sneakily had at least two people in mind when I made each option and when the poll is over I'll reveal who I had in mind for each option

imagine you are Consul M. Tullius Cicero and you're looking for clues to prosecute Catlina and you enter his home and light reflected by your bald head shines directly on the ghost of Marius using a Marian eagle for poledancing. He winks at you.

Oversimplifying relationships-
Marius and Sulla: Friends to lovers gone wrong
Pompey and Caesar: "I need head" taken too seriously
Antony and Octavian: Marriage was disaster, divorce was political calamity

Denarius minted at Rome in 101 BCE by Gaius Fundanius, one of the tresviri monetales (mint officials) for that year. The coin celebrates the triumph of the consul Gaius Marius after his victories over the Germanic tribes of the Teutones and Cimbri at the battles of Aquae Sextiae and Vercellae, respectively--battles that helped restore Roman military prestige after a string of defeats and perhaps saved peninsular Italy from being overrun. On the obverse, the helmeted head of the goddess Roma. On the reverse, the triumphator Marius in his quadriga (four-horse chariot), accompanied by a youth who holds a laurel branch and rides one of the horses. @elainesknight so we were talking about calendar in the Pharsalia book club server, at which point my mind conjured up an image of Sullarius orgy. Of course I must share it with you.

So, I'm researching ancient Mediterranean religions for a personal project and because I have IWTV brainrot I want to bring up something that just always bugged me about Marius - the anachronistic atheism.
Look, there have always been a variety of beliefs and I'm not saying he couldn't have been atheist, but I think modern people failed to understand how much religion was a part of *everything* in the past. Religion was part of war, politics, farming; every Roman house had multiple alters and personal family gods and every father was the family's priest.
The Romans were extremely pious and this was something that they were very proud of. They believed their religious piety was what made them better than other people, what let them kept winning wars. I cannot stress enough how important religion was to the Romans.
Anne basically made Marius the anti-Roman and I'm not sure she even realized that.
Also, Marius is a Roman family name, not a first name.

THEORY: Roman Republic died because of father issues
PROOF: Her last fathers were
Gaius Marius: Father of failson
L. Cornelius Sulla: A daddy not a father
He Who Speaks: Dolabella marriage, Octavian situation, Cicelina fic
Every man's WIFE: Self evident
CONCLUSION:

if thiss was not your intent then i apologise but if l furius is cato then who is martinus based off of
l. furius isn't cato! he's his own guy entirely. cato was one of the people that parts of his character were inspired by, but he's only one among quite a few others too...

It's funny to use the words Sullans and Marians to define the factions of the Marius-Sulla conflict because it sounds like Sulla is going to square off against the Virgin Mary
