So I watched Hazbin Hotel! I gotta be honest, I had a lot of fun with it. Sure, there's a few flaws here and there, but overall I think I had a really good time (especially since I watched it with a friend lol). I remember seeing a lot of people doing redesigns for the characters on Instagram and y'all know me; if I like a piece of media I gotta redesign it lol. Generally the characters I redesign already have great designs, but I'll admit the designs for HH can get a bit...cluttered lmao. Hopefully I was able to simplify them enough to where they look less messy, but I don't think I was able to fit the themes of the characters as well as I would've liked lol (Angel Dust DEFINITELY doesn't look like he belongs in the 40s anymore)

Also I wouldn't usually add something like this but I just wanna say, I did these redesigns out of enjoyment of the series, not out of spite. Please don't be overly negative in the replies because of going-ons behind the scenes or what have you. These were done for fun and nothing else.

Ok so, I need to infodump all of my shit about Alastor first bc he's my favorite and I AM FROTHING AT THE MOUTH CURRENTLY!!! BASHING MY HEAD AGAINST A WALL!!! EATING GLASS!!!

Firstly, I kinda figured that Alastor wasn't gonna beat Adam because-

1. it wouldn't make sense for the plot for Alastor to beat him since Adam has been set up more as an antagonist for Charlie, if Alastor beat Adam then it wouldn't be satisfying story-wise

and 2. because Alastor certainly isn't as powerful as Adam and, while I do think that Adam could be beaten by someone weaker than him via outsmarting him, obviously it wouldn't be Alastor because of the above reasons + Alastor is arrogant as fuck and I think he underestimated Adam a lot, which is part of the reason he lost

That being said, I think Alastor did pretty well all things considered and I loved the fight scene anyway just because of how much shit he was talking to Adam---it was fucking hilarious! It scared the shit out of me when Adam injured him, though, ngl 😭

Ngl the idea of the Vees just like fucking yoinking Nifty after Alastor either dies or fucks off into the ether is very darkly funny to me.

They probably wouldn’t even ask the hotel and Nifty would gladly go with them because she likes Vox and she’s really enamored with Val (in a way that manages to make even him uncomfortable).

They just… have a Nifty now.

They have shared custody with the hotel crew. The hazbins love Niffty and don’t want her in the hands of the Vees of all people (especially Angel), but… she is a grown woman and is capable of making her own choices, even if those choices are pretty inexplicable. They don’t seem to be taking advantage of her in any way other than not paying her for her labor, but they didn’t do that either, so…????

Alternately, it’s consensual kidnapping-for-consensual kidnapping. Alastor takes Vox, they take Niffty. At least they won’t be arrogant enough to put her in a shitty commercial that advertises where she is for everyone to see.

Finished episode 4 of Ghost Game!

Got the (first) big exposition dump about the Digital World from Angoramon, which I was anticipating. I have also decided it would be really funny to switch back and forth between calling the character "ruri" "luli" "luri" and "ruli" depending on how I'm feeling at any given moment.

I think the digivice powers are pretty nifty! I was expecting they'd be able to make their digimon "invisible" since Hiro turned that off when he summoned Gammamon for the first time. But them being able to phase into a filter of the Digital World over the real world is pretty cool - it gives them a lot of creative freedom to go absolutely nuts with the fight scenes without having to worry about collateral damage. NGL that is something that I was "worried" about in the fight with Mummymon when he started getting trigger happy, and with the collateral damage from the fire. So it's cool that they wrote in a way to just not have to worry about that.

I also found Pumpkinmon absolutely adorable this episode<3

this show is very foxeh compatible it's providing very effective nonfatal horror scenarios like, nobody dies x3 that's threatened a lot, cuz horror story but literally everyone is fine at the end, so far

I just think of like. I watched a handful of episodes of Buffy once wasn't a fan x3 and I know it sounds childish but the fact they just killed people every single episode really bothered me. so this show is like, the anti-Buffy in that sense

I anticipate that this "easy solution" of just explaining to the Digimon that what they're doing is no good, stop that *swats em on the nose with a rolled up newspaper* is NOT going to last much longer. And Hiro may have to start being challenged by the idea that he can't just talk-no-jutsu his way out of conflicts like this anymore.

I do like how low stakes these initial episodes are so far though. Again, we're still in the gathering of the clouds stage.

Tetrology of Fallot (tof): congenital (born with it) heart defect that is basically 4 defects in 1 (I do not have the energy to look up or type all those scientific words rn so sorry)

I've had 3 open heart surgeries to fix it o e at 8 days 10 months and 5 years

Died 6 times on the second one 😃

Ngl life isn't too different with it

If you don't count the yearly doctor visits and can't play contact sports

I mean there's more to it that that obviously but it's mainly small things like getting out of breath quicker and I bruise easy because of having to take baby asprin

BUT the doctors ORIGINALLY said I was never gonna be able to walk or talk or do anything for myself

God vetoed that decision 😌

NOW I NEVER SHUT UP 😁

Got a nifty battle scar down my chest as a souvenir ☺️

And I used to be called smurf baby cause I turned blue alot

I make jokes about it now (hush I'm allowed to )

Ngl pretty sure I'm short cause failure to thrive as a baby cause of that 😭

Don't think there's any scientific backing on that tho for tof patients

Imperferated anus + colostomy bag: basically means I was born without a butthole

But had to have three gastrointestinal surgeries from that

Don't know the ages or many details but I'm pretty sure I was two for the last one

And I had to have a colostomy bag

Thankfully don't remember it

Buy my waste went into a bag that had to be changed out

Ik it got infected so the scar is bugger than it should be

Seizures: if you've read my fanfic that's explained in detail for how it feels

But that was from aged 5-10

We never found the specific reasons for it

But we do hypothesize it has something tk do with possible scar tissue on my brain

Either from a heart attack/stroke/lack of oxygen from my second heart surgery is what we think it could be from

During a seizure my heart would start beating weird (not good description ik but idk how to describe it really) and my vision would start to tunnel out my tongue would tingle and then I'd black out

During a seizure I couldn't hear anything or see anything but my head would completely start to tingle

From my parents I was told during them I would stiffen up and lock my joints and almost seem to hyperventilate

It was control moderately well by medicine but I thankfully do not have them anymore

Hard hearing: im not like deaf or anything nor do I use hearing aids but my hearing isn't what it should be for a normal teenager lol

This is because during one of my heart surgeries they gave me a drug used on horses and a little too much if it at that (ketamine?)

Legally blind: yeah come to find out last year found out my eye sight is actual crap

Without my glasses I am legally blind

I've got 20/200 vision 😭

So I've got these crazy thick glasses now

Tourretts: neurological disorder where I make these random noises and movents

Got diagnosed back in sixth grade

My tics ate ill make various sounding noises (all kinda of variations of a hiccup for visualization) and my head will jerk back

It was awful before we found out what it was

Got picked on for it quite a bit and a certain teacher of mine essentially told me "just stop bro lol" and I'd get sent out of class for it even after we had doctor notes for it

Just get up out of that wheel chair then then buddy ☺️

They'd get set off my certain things

Music being one of them so I would carry around these earbuds when there was music around so it didn't get set off

I'm on medicine now for it and it's a LOT better

And a recent development (in the past 6 months) I've been able to listen to music again!

The tourretts aren't going away tho

If over been without medicine for more than 2 days it's BAD

Ovarian cyst (possible pcos?) : this has happened over this summer so you already got some rants on that lol

Buy I've got an 8cm cyst on my left ovary

NGL I'd be fucking terrified talking to Yae irl. Anyone who radiates that kind of energy makes me nervous, same applies to Lisa.

Yae is very interested in her S/O's past. It's probably going to be novel-worthy since it's so alien to everything she's ever heard.

But when S/O introduces their phone to her is when they have her full attention.

She's able to look at the many types of authors of S/O's world, ranging from big names to people who write just for fun.

There's one major takeaway she's learned from S/O.

There is a LOT of risque writing that everyone partakes in. It's actually pretty surprising to her.

And the fact people are so shameless too, she wishes to meet those kinds of people. But reading their works will do.

Yae also likes whatever S/O shows her in general, getting to experience and learn something new. She usually teases them on their taste if it's on the more peculiar side but she's more curious than anything.

Though if anything, she enjoys reading the smaller writers to see what normal everyday people are capable of writing.

Even if it's just to laugh at them.

Ayaka's full attention goes to S/O the moment they open up about their own world.

Even if it's mundane to S/O, it's fascinating to her.

Getting to learn any tidbit of the world outside Inazuma, hell, their dimension is not mundane in the slightest.

But Pandora's Box is opened when S/O shows her their phone.

She especially loves watching movies with S/O, though the tiny screen hurts her neck with how long she looks at it.

If only this sort of technology was possible in the world they had.

Regardless, Ayaka can't help herself but peek over their shoulder, looking to see what they're doing.

Ayaka especially loves the little games and shows to distract her once her work is finished. Though, she fears she's becoming addicted to some romance shows.

Ganyu likes hearing stories in general, and S/O's is probably one of the most fascinating of all seeing as they weren't from Tevyat.

She especially is enamored by their phone, since it's such a nifty little device.

S/O captures pictures of the two of them all the time, and it's so high quality!

But she especially likes watching little shows or reading on it. S/O lends her the phone to satisfy her curiousity.

The more time she spends on it, the more questions she has. With her work schedule she has, she wishes she could have more time.

Although some things from S/O's world confuses her.

Chief among them being some concepts of 'manga'.

Who even thinks of some of these things, like being reincarnated as a slime? That'd probably get you killed here.

1 - Any player can build a wooden boat. It's color depends on the type of wood used. A boat can be occupied by two entities, they can be used to transport mobs, players, or a chest.

2 - It's Kirby transformed into a submarine. He shoots torpedoes. He's Kirby! He's adorable!

3 - The Lemurian ship was created a long time ago by the Lemurians (Lemuria is pretty much the in universe version of Atlantis or smth). It does not have sails unlike the other boats in universe. It can only be controlled by Adepts (people with psychic powers), by using a Black Orb to amplify their psychokinesis. There are three Lemurian ships in game, but the one used by the player belongs to Piers. After a while, magical... er, enchanted psychic wings are attached to it, which allows it to hover briefly. Later you also get a cannon!

4 - it’s a pirate ship! the captain is a strong buff lady who once killed a sea dragon with only a claymore and is DEFINITELY a lesbian. she used it to fight a giant sea god literally hundreds of times her size. she used it to smuggle a criminal wanted by the literal GOD of a country to safety. the rest of the crew are also mildly insane and every day I wish they weren’t npcs so we could learn more abt them. AND they commit tax evasion <3

5 - owned by captain caviar cookie, crew of mostly children, not sentient, usually doesn't take passengers

6 - A switcher from the Star Fleet. He's just nifty tbh. Bro has seen some shit. i love him. his voice is kinda gender ngl.

7 - Sentient taling ship owned by Pirate Percy. "YOU HAVE...TO GO...INSIDE"

8 - Physical manifestation of the Argo Navis constellation and summoned by the constellation witch to traverse the ocean. It's fucking beautiful and also has ancient mythological roots

9 - It's shaped like a whale that's so awesome! Like don't you just want to get in it??? If I had a ship I'd make damn sure it was shaped like some kind of creature.

Green Hill: listen. There is a reason this zone has become memetically popular. All jokes about its overuse aside, it is a ingeniously designed zone that teaches you how S1's momentum-based gameplay works with its multiple routes and nifty secrets reachable by jumping at the right moment. Easy to beat, hard to master: one of Sonic's core principles, from the very beginning.

Angel Island: how to do environmental storytelling right and establish your villain as a threat 👍 also great subversion of the "green lush level" already, and already a bigger level than its predecessors on the Genesis.

Mushroom Hill: this zone is just fun. Fast, cute gimmick with the many mushrooms, nice environmental change in Act 2, extremely underrated IMO.

Emerald Coast: as a kid I refused to believe you can beat this level in 2 minutes. But you can! And it's testament of how well designed SA1's levels are, how you can bend them to find all sorts of shortcuts and conquer them. I also love the transition from "hotel beach" to "wild beach".

Seaside Hill: pretty <3 it can get a bit long compared to other first levels (the Extra mission for Team Sonic is 5 minutes), but never boring. It's fun to keep the flow as you switch teams, and the level design is more fleshed out than people give it credit for.

Windmill Isle: HERE WE GO!! WHOO!!! After Act 1 acts as a simple tutorial, Act 2 is just pure adrenaline, satisfying to replay, and simply stunning. Ngl it makes me a little nostalgic lol.
