OHHH I LOVE MUMBO AND ISKALL SO MUCH!!! they are so silly oh my god. The constant back n forth pranks? Mumbo adding blocks to the monstrosity?? Or standing still while talking to iskall??? They are so silly oh my god. I'm so glad i started watching both of them this season!! Don't rly ship them but they r an absolutely amazing duo and i hope i get to see more of their interactions during season 10!!!

Martyn and Scott... Mean gills! Imma be honest, it's been a WHILE since I've watched scotts limited life, but i remember them being quite entertaining :D their skins were so cool. Personally i don't ship them, but i def get the appeal. They a rly fun duo tho, especially during a life series! (i actually am searching up limited life as i type this... Looks like I'll be rewatching scotts vids again LMFAO). I generally think Scott, the sassy calculated one and Martyn, the dramatic roleplayer, are an amazing combo.

EFFO AND BDUBS!!! They r v silly. I haven't seen a lot of their interactions yet, since I've only watched effos season 8-10 and only recently started watching Bdubs s10, but their horse race project in season 8 was so cool! Im so sad they didnt get to finish it :( i don't rly ship them, but i think that's literally just bc of my boat boys hyperfixation... I did read a rly cool romantic longfic w/ them a while ago! It was p good :D other than that, i love their dynamic sm. Like, ethos 'calmer' teasing and Bdubs loud and dramatic personality make for some absolutely hilarious moments. Also, i wish they did a project together cause i absolutely LOVE both their building styles and i rlyyy wanna see them collaborate on a build!!! It would be so coolllll

Off the bat, every single Team Canada Prank. I’ve practically memorized the Sky Shrooms and King of the Ladder episodes. That moment when Guude realized Etho was part of the prank and said “We? Who’s we?” and Etho stuttered and fell backwards off the mushrooms to his death was the first moment in my life that I truly felt alive. #TheOfficeIsAGoodShow #RealMenUseTheirRingFinger

Von Swaying Guude’s house changed my whole outlook on Minecraft. How could someone make something so darn ugly and yet so beautiful? It’s the epitome of doing something for the sole purpose of shit starting creating and having fun rather than aiming for perfect and never finishing. Zisteau is a great addition to any video 10/10 educational content

Just about every moment in Guude/Nebris/Pakratt/Arkas’ TerraFirmaCraft Reloaded series. Had to pause videos multiple times to write down quotes and even then I passed up some good ones! I fully intend on rewatching the series from each perspective. Arkas getting slain by bear, Guude and Arkas secretly growing mushrooms and getting high, Pakratt confusing dolomite and diorite, literally everything Arkas does, THE COWS, that last episode of absolute chaos wtf Pakratt

UHC #ForTheKidsSeven with Single Malt scotch’s skyblock base and rampant cheating from every team except Nebris’. I fucking LOVED that near-kill with the anvil, and all the chaos as the border shrank. Four players stuck in a 1x1 column! The arrow volley between SMS and SkyblockJr. Can this happen every UHC?

Speaking of UHC, Etho and BdoubleO’s epic fight in season 11! He was absolutely on the ball with those potions, I was sure he’d die before he could use them all. And Etho’s fight with Guude right before that was hilarious! Guude high as fuck on percocets and Etho like completely confused at what Guude was doing. The whole portal thing in season 3 with Pause, Kurt, and Beef too! That has remained one of my favourite UHC moments since I saw it, there is nothing more classic. Every single season I hope someone will make a portal for no reason and end up in someone else’s base with them. #TheWolfTheWolfAmazing!

Zisteau’s E-Pranker Montage. I legitimately cry every time I watch it, particularly during 0.5 (the fourth prank) when he rebuilds Bdubs’ first house from his Building With BdoubleO series. Bdubs’ moment of realization hits me like a train even though I know it’s coming. Like, if someone built my first Minecraft base to prank me I think I would die on impact, but like in a good way.

And back to UHC! Season 14 episode 5. HOOOOOOLY FUCK! 2spooky4me should have totally been a UHC team! Remember when Zisteau played UHC? It just isn’t UHC without him to be honest. And besides the #BadYouTubers and #ImALavaExpert moments from Super Hostile and Ninja Turtles, Parkas had a great season as well! Shit, everyone was awesome! Parkas listening in on BTC finding a silverfish, Doc listening in on Ole Yeller right before Zisteau-ing himself and swearing, Baj hiding nether wart, every single drunken drink Genny did, Parkas towers “we should smelt some stone to make bricks”, snnnnowballs! :D, HEY JSANO! WHY YOU RUNNING JSANO?, “ooooh, we’re right behind you haha” “BTC, they’re actually here.” Pakratt was slain by generikb, Avidya’s spooky voice echoing around Seth and Anderz “You wouldn’t hurt an old teammate, would you?” “I dunno. It’s been awhile.” Just. God this was a good season.

Season 19 with Vechs and BTC! You’ve heard all the famous quotes, “how did I get stuck with you of all people” “Vechs, Vechs. I don’t hate you anymore” “He’s not dying. He’s just mad right now.” “Did it come from your hand, knocking a teammate off the ledge?” “THAT WAS A MOD!” etc etc. I also like MC’s half heart midnight desert dash, although it took a good 10 years of my life from the stress. Oblivious Pakratt running away from his teammates as they yell after him and then wondering why he hasn’t found anyone yet. Seth’s reaction to MC’s diamonds. Coe’s post commentary, again, you know the quotes: “Left. Chicken. Right. Chicken.” “This bucket has wheels!” “Are you gonna put that dirt in a chest?!” etc. Kurt finding Beef “Sharpness Five diamond sword!” and PiMP turning around. F1 and PiMP in general. SwedishZen and Millbee with the melons.

Obligatory mentions: “NOOO YOUR DOGS KILLING ME!!!!”, 2Germans1Hole, Zisteau crafting a clock and finding every excuse to use it during the game so that those 4 gold didn’t go to waste, Rob’s jukebox battles, Anderz fighting spiders when a creeper wanders into his hole, Bdubs’ “real” season 9 ending, Nebris going God-mode “HIT ME ALL YOU LIKE”, Nebris and Pause double kill, Nebris and Pyro double kill with Bdubs watching and cleaning up at half a heart and then Etho cleaning up again and finding the potions B left and Bdubs interrupting his video to do facecam to explain that he’s a nice guy who shares and leaves gifts for others (basically whenever Bdubs does facecam in UHC. Let’s face it, when Bdubs whips out the cam you know you’re in for a good show), Team Uppercats season 10. All of it.

Trouble in Terrorist Town when Pyro and Coe pull a long con on Pause and Guude in like episode 9 during the last round. I had to pause the video to take it all in, I was just in awe. That series is one of my favourites! I always watch from Pause.

Team Canada CTM uhhh forgot which series, but Pause and Beef getting stuck in a hole, Etho dying, placing TNT over their heads, and singing “Pause and Beef, best of friends” while Beef panics.

I compared Sailor Moon to Cardcaptor Sakura before in that in both the plot is mainly just an excuse to set up a scenario where fun episodic stories and character arcs can happen, it's not that special or a main draw for either show. But I gotta give credit where it's due. 

In Cardcaptor Sakura, the execution of said simple plot is amazing. The eerie atmosphere of the build up scenes, the mysteries, the foreshadowing, the way the climax episodes are paced and set up just before they fully happen, the emotional moments, it nails everything, it is a genuinely well directed show. It doesn't take itself too seriously but it takes its CRAFT seriously and respects the emotions of its characters and the viewers who are invested in them.

I just watched episode 44 of Sailor Moon, the big episode where the sailors enter the Dark Kingdom, get the flashback of what truly happened in the past and how they became what they are, and defeat Kunzite, setting up the final showdown with Beryl and Metalia. And it really feels like it just doesn't matter. It was so rushed, zero set up from the previous episode, they just happen to find an entrance to the DK, go in and stuff happens. It doesn't feel like it was the right time for a climax, there's no special atmosphere being built, no cool directing or new music etc, the flashback is more of a montage of events, just information rather than an actual story we might care about, there's no proper emotional reaction from the main characters to finding out about their pasts, the fight against Kunzite is a big meme where all he does is kinda shred their clothes which Usagi comically protests to (which I DO find endearing even in this situation, though much less than I would in the regular episodes. I'm mainly disappointed at Kunzite's abrupt death, again lack of emotional stakes), there's a difference between not wanting to take yourself too seriously and just straight up not believing in the story you're trying to tell (which I know Sailor Moon CAN do because of the Nephrite arc so I'm not saying it's all bad or anything), I'm not really upset cause again this isn't what I was really looking forward to in SM anyway but I was actually taken aback just by how unengaged I was with this episode, which is why I'm writing this now. It could definitely get better in the next couple episodes, just wanted to voice my thoughts while they were fresh. Unless the plot becomes a lot more prevalent in future seasons and is similarly executed this shouldn't really effect my overall enjoyment of SM, but again, credit where it's due, I don't wanna say it in a way that sounds like I'm mocking SM but this really makes me respect Cardcaptor Sakura in a way I didn't really emphasize before. And CCS IS my 3rd favourite show of all time, so hey I'm happy to gain more appreciation for it. No disrespect for Sailor Moon, when it shines it shines in very different ways to CCS, otherwise I wouldn't still be watching it and would just rewatch CCS instead (which I do want to do though lol, CCS is just...too good I love it more than life itself okay I'm done please don't hurt me Sailor Moon fans).

What's your opinion on the SM anime so far? A lot of it can be a little too slice of life but I think they're trying to portray what life in tropical alola is like. They've also subverted a few common series tropes already.Team rocket winning against ash with their own Pokemon/ Ash's mom coming back. There's this life and death feel that this season gives me that was only touched upon in XY. Mimikyu's killing intent and Stoutland passing. I feel like it's building up for the game's darker themes

SM so far is great in what I think it’s most interested in being. That is, a fun, colourful show full of life, character and cute, heartwarming moments. The Litten “arc” also showed that it can pull off some genuinely emotional stories as well (I’m not gonna use the word sad because the Stoutland angst was, at the end of the day very low key and the episode ended in hope). We will probably see more of that note once Lillie’s family gets focused on somewhere down the line.In terms of battles it hasn’t impressed me yet. Neither the strategies, animation, nor the actual number of battles has improved over XY, and Z moves feel pretty repetitive already (sort of made up for by the AMAZING soundtrack choices for most of them, and I’m also a fan of Satoshi’s new “KORE GA ORE-TACHI NO ZENRYOKU DA” catchphrase). And while I love many things about SM Satoshi, I miss Rica’s more gruff voice acting for action scenes. I’ve been rewatching some older stuff recently and ugh her voice is just so cool, it’s perfect when it’s just a bit lower. Guess her throat does deserve the break tho. :PBut anyway that’s just my long time fan and battle maniac self talking. Like I said before, I don’t think this is what the show is most interested in being about anymore. And I can respect that, I appreciate them wanting to put more effort into the fun, cute side of things. And it’s for the best tbh, Satoshi’s Pokemon master goal effectively died for me at the Kalos league, I still enjoy watching him do his thing, but I’m not looking for clues of progression or anything.Saying that SM has a “life and death” feel is exaggerating things imo. A death isn’t some revolutionary thing that somehow completely changes the show, especially when handled like Stoutland’s was. And Mimikyu’s killing intent is mostly used for comedy. The darkest I can see the show getting is, again, when Lillie’s family appears, depending on how anime Lusamine treats her children. Other than that I don’t really care about any overarching plot stuff right now, I don’t think Tapu Koko’s interest in Satoshi means anything, and I don’t think their relationship is very well handled cause Satoshi literally didn’t do anything to earn its respect. But again, that’s another aspect of the show that feels like an “extra” for me rather than something they really care about. Slice of life is the name of the game, even the new characters, while all likable, all lack goals that they can actually work towards on screen in interesting ways, they’re just there for the fun hijinks.So yeah, I like SM a lot, I don’t look forward to it the same way I used to look forward to Pokemon (which is why I’ve taken up the habit of letting a few episodes pile up before catching up) but I smile pretty much every time I watch it which I’d say is more valuable than hype. Alola~
