I mean this neutrally, but which characters are actually being written by people who are fans and understand them? I feel like half the characters are ooc rn
im not up to date with other characters' comic runs recently so i mean more in the sense of the character's foundation. for example, bruce and dick have amazing foundations for their character and what their character stands for, their personality, their morals, etc. they have so many special relationships, both platonic and romantic. as comic characters, they've had the time and space to develop as interesting and dynamic characters.
they definitely have their ooc comic runs like gotham war for bruce, but at the end of the day, they'll always have numerous comics that are true to their character and are amazing in itself.
for jason on the other hand, his foundation comes from his original robin run in the 80s and his debut as red hood in utrh/lost days. utrh and lost days set jason's character and gave us a pretty strong idea of who he is as a person (i.e., his morals, personality, and perspectives). it continued off his 80s robin run, where we got to see jason todd for the first time and got to know him as a hero instead of anti hero. we see his relationships with his bio family, step mom, bruce, and the things he likes/dislikes. we see from the beginning that jason has a more grey perspective on life due to his own experiences. all we see in the 80s builds to what we see in utrh and lost days.
but then all of a sudden, so many comics after utrh forget who jason actually is. they have him hurt a kid despite his strong stance on protecting children. he somehow kills like he can't control himself and only batman can stop him. he's an impulsive brute who thinks with his fists. he's not as intelligent as everyone else. jason, the kid who grew up homeless and surrounded by impoverished communities whose circumstances ruined their lives, somehow has a lot less empathy now.
jason's character is constantly contradicted. he's never given a chance to grow and develop relationships. everything he does is confined by the bats. he doesn't have a proper foundation because many of his writers know nothing of his backstory and just write him as a selfish, impulsive asshole despite everything we see of him in his robin run and in utrh that contradicts that.
when i compare jason's writing to the bats, i really only mean bruce, dick, and tim since the others are iffy as well when it comes to writing (racism, sexism).

ALSO hyuka's high note. guys. guys. what the fuck. he is such a talented man i cannot rn

Rising Nursing Shortages are Causing a Nationwide Healthcare Crisis – How Using a Well-Designed Mobile Employment App Can Help
The following is a guest article by Suzanne Arroyo, Senior Content Strategist, and Christopher Ryan, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at Avionté.
With large-scale nursing strikes happening across the nation, one thing is for certain: nurses feel overworked. The global pandemic has only amplified a growing problem – there aren’t enough RNs to care for a continuous rise in patients.
And the situation is intensifying. By 2030, one million nurses are expected to retire. The healthcare system will continue to be put under pressure by an aging nursing workforce, increased turnover, and a maturing baby boomer population that needs more complex care. The rising nurse-to-patient ratio is quickly leading to a nationwide crisis as more than 80% of bedside nurses cite extreme burn-out levels, resulting in lower patient care quality and higher morbidity rates.
With nursing shortages looming, rapid onboarding has become a major focus for the healthcare industry to help hire and retain nurses. So how can hiring managers solve this problem? Though they may not think about how their technology makes them attractive to potential employees, they should – especially when faced with critical talent shortages.
Why Medical HR is in Dire Need of a Technological Reboot
Despite the desperate need to attract and retain more nurses, hospitals and medical staffing agencies still make it difficult for people to get employed. Healthcare HR is vastly behind the curve in technology and still relies heavily on old-school, paper-based transactions. But with more challenging workplace expectations, medical providers have less patience for a tedious employment process and are increasingly frustrated by hiring and onboarding procedures that waste time and make it harder to quickly place.
If you’re involved in healthcare staffing, try this exercise. Put yourself in the shoes of a potential candidate at your organization and imagine what it’s like to go through the experience of getting hired. Are the steps clear or confusing? Is your candidate’s time being valued? What does the technology you’re using (or not using) say about your organization? If you’re not providing a good hiring experience, then it may be an early sign that you’re not a good place to work for. So, what can you do?
With all the stress that nurses face, hospitals and medical staffing agencies need to look to mobile technology to make application, credentialing, onboarding, and placement as seamless as possible.
Remember, when it comes to attracting a potential hire, time is not your friend. You have a limited period to engage the candidate, get their information, move them through all employment steps, and close the deal before they go elsewhere. Anything that elongates this process lowers the chances that they’ll join you, even after you extend an offer. But anything that simplifies and removes unnecessary stress from the experience will make your company an employer of choice.
This is why mobile technology is key in helping hospitals increase and retain staff, lower nurse-to-patient ratios, and create better working conditions for RNs.
What Should You Look for in Adopting a Mobile Employment Strategy?
Luckily, there are tools that give employers the ability to execute an effective mobile strategy for their employees. The right technology supports your hiring managers and candidates through the entire talent journey – from application to onboarding, job placement, and redeployment.
Research consistently shows that applicants value speed, transparency, and personal control over their schedules. Imagine if your nurses could apply, get certified and placed, select their most desired shifts, manage their own timekeeping, and access their pay information all in one place – from the convenience of their mobile device?
Hospitals and medical facilities desperately need to retain good nurses, and the best way to earn employee loyalty is by creating an efficient talent enablement process that keeps your nurses engaged throughout their entire employment journey.
Remember Your Hiring Managers – Their Time is Valuable too
Hospitals and medical staffing agencies should also consider how mobile apps can help create a more satisfying and valuable experience for hiring managers and recruiters.
A modern, mobile application allows hiring managers to direct each step of the employment journey with a simple click of a button. This can save them time often wasted on repetitive communications or having to use multiple systems to manage the end-to-end employment process.
By eliminating administrative stress, your hiring managers can focus on building personal relationships with potential candidates to provide them with a better employment experience – rather than wasting valuable time managing clerical tasks.
And for healthcare recruiters who manage a contingent workforce, having your providers’ information archived for future employment purposes can lead to speedier redeployment, greatly increasing time-to-fill.
But, most importantly, by compressing the time frame between initial contact with an applicant and first day at work, hiring managers and recruiters can double the yield in your talent funnel. All of this goes a long way in helping hospitals certify and place nurses with greater speed. This is especially crucial when hospitals must quickly staff to maintain a suitable nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure proper medical care.
Mobile Employment Apps are Essential in Solving the Nursing Shortage
The healthcare industry is critically behind in technology – contributing to the already stressful work conditions nurses face. Many job candidates are lost between application and onboarding. If you make it harder for providers to apply, get placed, and control their schedules, they won’t be loyal to your company or agency, leading to further turnover and increased shortages.
Consumer expectations are being reset by mobile technology in all other aspects of people’s lives. Why should employment be any different? It’s hard to attract good candidates to your institution when your processes say you’re overly bureaucratic and don’t value employees’ time.
Healthcare employers who use mobile technology to effectively manage the entire employment lifecycle from application to placement and beyond have a significant leg up on medical institutions that don’t. Nothing provides a better signal for what it’s like to work for a company than the process it takes to join them. And this is where a well-designed mobile app can really help.
Having the right mobile employment technology at your fingertips will not only speed time-to-fill, but it will also positively enhance your brand by demonstrating that you’re up to speed with new technology and are easy to work with.
Given the dire situation caused by growing nursing shortages, the use of technology to build a better hiring process and work environment is no longer just a nice to have – it’s absolutely essential for the proper functioning of the healthcare industry moving forward.

• JENIFER “JEN” MARLOWE •
IG Info/bio: @/justjenw1n | 220k followers | Fashion | just a LUVer who owns a lovely blog that you’re more than welcome to check out here... astoldbyjenmarlowe.co.uk 🪞🛍🪄
22 (24) (25 in 2021) years of age
From London, England
Her family has French origins
Tends to visit once a year mainly with her family
For her 18th bday, her parents also sent her to Paris with her bf that she’s been dating since she was 14
they broke up since he wanted to stay in Paris to pursue his dreams and she felt like she needed to be back home...which she felt Paris was not
Extremely close to her parents, some may say a little TOO close...
See, I feel like jen comes from a family that spoils her where her parents did everything and took care of everything for her. She had the privilege and didn’t have to work too hard to get things she wanted so that made her a little bit different than a few of her friends, hell—even her bf
Didn’t have to work until she reached her twenties
She also didn’t have too many friends because her parents felt like her cousins and/or her sibs were really only allowed to hold that title
However her parents had some sort of a soft spot for her when they allowed her to date her bf at 14 since he came from a nice background...
And to have at least 1-2 best friends...
I can’t decide if I see her having 3 other sibs with her being the second eldest, or her being the eldest with a younger sister? I can also see her being a only child too? Idk y’all can decide
Because her family is a tight knit one, she values everything they say and do...which is canon/evident
She got her thigh tattoo in Paris and even thought about asking her parents permission but her bf talked her out of it
she later showed them that night while he was in the shower. Her mother openly disapproved saying it was, “unladylike or unclean” while her father was more lenient towards it
Her mother even scheduled her for laser appointments but this was one of the things jen was sure of, she loved her tattoo and she didn’t want to erase it from her body which led to her mother not speaking to her for about a month—even tho they live in the same household
I feel like she looks more like her dad with her mom’s hair and smile
Got into fashion due to her maternal grandmother who seemed to live a extravagant life as a old time actress, she always had and owned the finest of things
Jen loved having sleepovers there, it felt like she had her own personal Liz Taylor inside of her nan...but better!
Definitely found inspiration through Liz Taylor, Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, and Naomi Campbell
she had no clue what she wanted to do in life (she never had to think too hard about it until now, it’s true what they say about your twenties) and she made the choice not to continue thru with uni & I’m not going to make her out to be the stereotypical “dumb blonde” I think she did well in school—so she kinda just chilled after it was all over
Her first job at 20 was probably working in retail where she learned all about the bs you put up with but she loved clothes! That never changed
So she decided 6 months into her job that she was going to make a fashion blog
she made one separate from her tumblr but kept it under construction since she needed to brain storm what exactly this blog would entail
It didn’t take too long to her to figure it out by how she wanted the blog to look then discussing pieces from celebs/models then slowly discussing her own wardrobe + advice
She didn’t immediately gain success for it —altho she did have a good 1k people follow her thru her tumblr where she also provided the link to her separate blog... but she worked/works hard at it, hoping one day it’ll get her somewhere and that maybe she can get paid for it too?
Retail fucking sucks and people are horrible twats so when she was approaching 21 she deff quit with her parents still hammering...more so her dad on what she needs to do with her life but she found happiness in her blog and no one was going to take that away from her —not even her parents
‘What’s the use of working if it doesn’t make you happy?’ She thinks but again! she has the privilege of living under her parents roof and not having to pay bills so she didn’t have to worry too much rn she knows they’d never kick her out right?
she has two bunnies named “bugsy” and “Lola”—u know the reference right?
I feel like she values the flinstones & jetsons because it was something her dad loved watching as a kid and still does , probably has the dvds showcased in her room that she watches when she feels sad
Seems like a smiley person but when she’s sad? It kinda sucks to see cause she turns into a whole different person and she always seems happy with a smile so wide that turns her eyes squinty
If she disagrees with something, she’s 100% giving her opinion whether you like it or not? Wrong is wrong. But when the shoe is on the other foot? She hates being wrong LOL or doesn’t view herself being wrong. Doesn’t take accountability well...at all!
She’s also showed her ass by being a gossiper and fake as hell with Allegra about mc with the whole, “let’s pretend like we’re there for her” if you’re not fucking with somebody just say that or SHOW it sis cause that snakey shit will come back to bite you in the ass (I forgot about this lol as I’m replaying)
she’s all “mega resting bitch face” until she breaks out into a large smile
Libra sun? + Virgo moon? + Gemini rising?
I feel like she only knows what she wants when it comes to relationships but not with the rest of life?
Lol she was very determined with levi in the beginning, explored shit with jake, (I can’t remember if that was after you/mc showed a interest in him or not in that route? I’m doing a talia/Rohan route rn But that’s kinda foul if she’s smiling in ur face and then boom goes and does what she wants but hey that’s the game right? Fck that tho) and then stood by Tim after only some time?
She wasn’t feeling him in the beginning either cause he thought she was too posh for him and snakey which he’s right to some degree but she’s also right if she finds him too immature for her liking
To you jim? Ten? Stans— Idk what their ship name is but it probably wouldn’t have worked out in the long run either because I don’t see both of them wanting to change themselves completely to satisfy the other. (Tim tried) Sure if you’re showing unhealthy behaviors and are open to diminishing that for yourself then trying to work on your relationship then that’s great! But they already started from the jump not liking each other’s personalities/characteristics....
And hey! Ofc I know people grow to like things they might have disliked about you in the beginning but you can also find yourself not fully accepting it in a relationship and that doesn’t mean you didn’t try
+ it’s been hinted at that they’re not endgame & if you love yourself some Tim not platonically then this works in ur favor. if not? Then you can keep them endgame by all means! For me? That endgame shit is a no! For those that don’t gaf about either of them that’s fine too lmao
YES I feel like they were both hurt over the breakup and it probably happened right around the holidays or either a couple of months after Christmas/New Years 2019
Jen is probably the type to keep checking up on her ex, not necessarily talking to them but finding out who they’re with now
and if it’s Tim with mc she’s definitely gossiping about the shit with erikah and Allegra or making shady tweets or posts on IG for sure
“5 outfits to wear when you run into your ex” type posts on her blog looool
She hopes if she runs into Tim, she’s looking her best and she would 80% go up to him & mc/his new girl if not mc and be all huggy with him and holding conversation before she even thinks to acknowledge mc/new girl and when she does it’s a shady convo with fake smiles
Absolutely loves watching housewives so she was prepared for that moment if it ever does come
Her parents openly didn’t like Tim which made him feel like shit since it seemed like jen never defended him in front of them but again, she values her parents opinion and always wants their stamp of approval that’s just the way the girl is/ was brought up
She owes them everything but deep down knows that in her relationship with Tim she could have been a little more understanding of his needs like he was with her love for her parents...but she’ll never admit that
Doesn’t get over breakups as easily as it may seem like her exes do in her opinion.
It sure didn’t take long with Tim to date mc/new girl months after they broke up! Which was like a slap in the face
The ex bf she spent time w in Paris who looks like Matthew Noszka is now engaged, lives in AMERICA—& of all places??? California to be exact, and just released his debut album!! She knows which songs are probably about her, it’s a nice album she screamed about it for hours into her pillow and cried for what felt like weeks
Lost her voice over that breakdown too
Her mother even went as far as sending a nasty letter to this ex bf’s new address...since ya know? jen’s dad is a private investigator & all!!! but dad had no knowledge of this being done
She’s still fond of Levi and jake but not like in love with them? Like she thought/felt she was with Tim but she still considers them her mates
Maybe in 2021 she’ll be open to dating again and hopes erikah and Allegra will be her wingwomen when the time comes BUT she’s focusing on her blog rn and it’s the best it’s ever been!
She had the show to thank for that now that she has a manager and is getting paid for running her blog now! That’s right this girl is officially employed!
“At least one good thing came from the show ;) 🧽🥐🥂” type of tweets
There’s never not a moment where she’s not connecting her posts whether thru ig or Twitter to her blog: astoldbyjenmarlowe.co.uk!!!
Both erikah and Allegra talk a little shit about that together...WHEN they DO talk, the pair only really socialize when jen initiates it but if one pisses the other off?? they’re going to gossip about it with the other forsure
She doesn’t look that tall to me? Taller than erikah? 5’2-5’5 the 5 is pushing it for me? Maybe? lol I’m still deciding between her and Allegra far as height and I’m too lazy to go back and see what I put for her
Hates straightening her hair, that pin straight look is not cute to her. She loves having waves and body to her hair
Get her eyebrows micro bladed since she doesn’t have much hair up there to begin with
Adores French cuisine, always has since she was a little girl. Bisque used to be her fav back then and all that she would eat
Loves spring season especially pastel colors when it comes to her wardrobe
The type to say one thing and do the complete opposite
I feel like she probably has a little bit of lisp and it’s not really noticeable until she says some words, she’s insecure about it and thought it had something to do with the structure of her teeth and begged her parents to get them fixed but it literally had nothing to do with them
Yet she still got colorful braces in middle school even tho her teeth were pretty straight. She didn’t have to wear them for a whole year, thank goodness
Went to speech therapy to help
Has stacks of fashion magazines even from the early 90s all over her room: her night stand, her vanity, her closet, underneath her bed etc...
Adores the Hadid sisters, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, & Georgia May Jagger
Makes the best white chocolate chip (that’s right, white not just regular chocolate) banana bread but cooking/baking? Isn’t really her thing
Early riser
Loves yellow: yellow phone case, yellow laptop, yellow room, yellow tulips, yellow shades, etc...
Getting Prada shades was probably one of the best things that happened to her, s/o to her nan for granting her this wish
Words of affirmation is her love lanaguage, this girl is a talker and a bit of a thinker too I mean duh? She runs a blog
Likes bright colors on her toes but nude and clear polish on her hands?
Loves a good mascara but she also loves magnetic lashes but is trying her best to grow her lashes out rn! Thanks to erikah for sending her some good ol’ coconut oil!
Smokey eyes? Set her up
Gets a belly ring, and two more tatts one in between her boobs and the last on her ankle & that one she shed a tear over!
Maybe she’ll start changing her physical attributes more so than the way she carries her life at first? (Or ever) She’ll cut her hair below her collarbone to the top of her chest, and maybe she’ll try a light light LIGHT brunette (she loves being a natural blonde) with blonde highlights? Who knows
loves espadrilles and wedge sandals
Loves going wine tasting and visiting vineyards, if she’s vacationing? You can bet ur ass she’s looking for a vineyard to visit
Deff a lightweight
Here’s her unpopular opinions on s2: Thought Felix was a wannabe Tim and hates the fact that he follows her, thought graham was unattractive and said so to Allegra who snickered, thought marisol’s clothing choices were rather boring,
didn’t feel 100% bad for Hannah but disagrees with the way Gary and noah spoke about her + the way Gary tried to slide back over to Hannah on her comeback episode
but doesn’t feel like Lottie is wrong for choosing Gary after Hannah left
isn’t a fan of priya but is glad she’s doing fashion since jen strongly believes in if something isn’t making u happy then u need to let it go
Thinks Hope should have won and cannot tolerate Bobby. Feels he’s WORSE than Felix,
would be open to dating Ibrahim or Carl from that szn
has spoken to Harry from s3 due to his drunkenness and actually made a friend out of him? But low key wants to get to know seb? Take that info as u will 👀
Her anthem: Michelle — SUNRISE

What’s your proudest moment/accomplishment in BDRP?
Oh, gosh. I don’t know. I’ve been here for so long, I’ve had so many. I think...in terms of plot, one of my favorites is Haku being the river that led to the Underworld bc it was just such a GREAT plot. Like the river being dammed so Hades couldn’t find the entrance, then meeting Haku who had forgotten who he was and befriending him, and then finding out that he was the river and completing their destinies together. I still think about it all the time, ugh.
In terms of characters, Lou’s “trip to the ocean” was really important to me and I am really proud of that plot. Also, Helle’s family and everything we’ve done with that, bc I just love my children. ;-;
Mock to...I just think that was a unique story to tell and will continue to be a unique story and I’m excited to explore it more.
What thread that’s not your own do you remember watching closely?
Anything I’ve shipped in the past. Watching this Phinnip stuff. Captains stuff, what else? Gosh, there have been so many. Everyone’s characters are so fun. And when I’m not involved in the drama I’m like eating popcorn on the sidelines.
Write some love for three Muns of your choice!
the ppl who need love rn:
Sammy: Your stories are always so creative and we love a fully plotted arc! Both your characters are so different and dynamic, but have that Sammy flavor. I’m really excited to see what you do with them. You know I want to help Tony on his journey however I can (pls include me.) And we love a dumb, sweet person like Devyn. <3 <3 You are v soft and just nice and I enjoy seeing yours and Z’s interactions, as well as Lins. Tony/Eilonwy/Ian is great, we love a trio.
Hannah: This is probs gonna be Controversial to say, but I appreciate that we’ve butted heads a lot over the years. However, we’ve always been cordial and nice and able to work together. I appreciate the soft energy you bring to the RP and I am happy to be your cousin and am excited to explore that relationship and write more with you.
Pet/Lauryl: We’ve been at it a long time ladies. Through...lots of bullshit, both personal and external. And I just appreciate you two sticking by my side, even when it’s been hard. I deeply value your friendships and hope that sometime soon we can get together again in person and go see a Broadway show or something. You are my oldest adult friends and that is very important to me. <3
Write some love for three Muses of your choice!
me: forgets every single character --
Rose: gosh. i...love her. (shout out to kit for letting me cheat on her <3) i just like that she’s super tough and doesn’t take anyone’s shit. it’s refreshing, because she’s still soft and feminine and wants someone to understand her and i hope that she finds someone.
Aquata: we’ve had a lot of aquatas and they’ve all been great and different, but i really love what you’ve done with yours, emma! i *love* that we have a triton on the board again and that she has a bunch of flaws but is also very soft and good. i can’t see what you do with her and how she grows!
Arthur: we all know i wanna marry arthur. we just love a real stand up gent, who is confused 80% of the time. i’m really excited for him to step back in the leadership role, or maybe have some reservations about leadership? who knows! i just know im really hype for all the knight stuff. it’s gonna be great!

Its somewhat ironic that a movie about time travel can’t be reviewed properly until your future self rewatches the movie. It’s bold of Nolan to make such a thoroughly dense blockbuster. He assumes people will actually want to see ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án more than once so they can understand it properly, which some may not. This movie makes the chronology of Inception look as simplistic as tic-tac-toe. Ergo, it’s hard for me to give an accurate rating, without having seen it twice, as I’m still trying to figure out whether everything does indeed make sense. If it does, this movie is easily a 9 or 10. If it doesn’t, it’s a 6. It’s further not helped by the fact that the dialogue in the first 15 minutes of the movie is painfully hard to understand / hear. Either they were behind masks; they were practically mumbling; the sound effects were too loud; or all of the above. The exposition scenes are also waayyy too brief for something this complex — a problem also shared with Interstellar actually. (Interstellar had this minimalist exposition problem explaining Blight, where if you weren’t careful, you’d miss this one sentence / scene in the entire movie explaining that Blight was a viral bacteria: “Earth’s atmosphere is 80% nitrogen, we don’t even breathe nitrogen. Blight does, and as it thrives, our air gets less and less oxygen”). I guess it’s a Nolan quirk. Hopefully, a revision of the film audio sorts the sound mixing out. I do like the soundtrack, but it’s too loud initially. I liked all the actors. You think John Washington can’t act at first, but he can, and he grows on you as the film progresses. And Pattinson is his usual charming self. Elizabeth is a surprise treat. And so on. Its worth a watch either way. See it with subtitles if you can. And definitely don’t expect to fully understand whats going on the first time around. Its one hell of a complicated film. It will be very hard for an average viewer to gather all the information provided by this movie at the first watch. But the more you watch it, more hidden elements will come to light. And when you are able to put these hidden elements together. You will realize that this movie is just a “masterpiece” which takes the legacy of Christopher Nolan Forward If I talk about acting, Then I have to say that Robert Pattinson has really proved himself as a very good actor in these recent years. And I am sure his acting skills will increase with time. His performance is charming and very smooth. Whenever he is on the camera, he steals the focus John David Washington is also fantastic in this movie. His performance is electrifying, I hope to see more from him in the future. Other characters such as Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth, Himesh Patel, Dimple Kapadia, Clémence Poésy have also done quite well. And I dont think there is a need to talk about Michael Caine Talking about Music, its awesome. I dont think you will miss Hans Zimmer’s score. Ludwig has done a sufficient job. There is no lack of good score in the movie Gotta love the editing and post production which has been put into this movie. I think its fair to say this Nolan film has focused more in its post production. The main problem in the movie is the sound mixing. Plot is already complex and some dialogues are very soft due to the high music score. It makes it harder to realize what is going on in the movie. Other Nolan movies had loud BGM too. But Audio and dialogues weren’t a problem My humble request to everyone is to please let the movie sink in your thoughts. Let your mind grasp all the elements of this movie. I am sure more people will find it better. Even those who think they got the plot. I can bet they are wrong. ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án is the long awaited new movie from Christopher Nolan. The movie that’s set to reboot the multiplexes post-Covid. It’s a manic, extremely loud, extremely baffling sci-fi cum spy rollercoaster that will please a lot of Nolan fan-boys but which left me with very mixed views. John David Washington (Denzel’s lad) plays “The Protagonist” — a crack-CIA field operative who is an unstoppable one-man army in the style of Hobbs or Shaw. Recruited into an even more shadowy organisation, he’s on the trail of an international arms dealer, Andrei Sator (Kenneth Branagh in full villain mode). Sator is bullying his estranged wife Kat (Elizabeth Debicki) over custody of their son (and the film unusually has a BBFC warning about “Domestic Abuse”). Our hero jets the world to try to prevent a very particular kind of Armageddon while also keeping the vulnerable and attractive Kat alive. This is cinema at its biggest and boldest. Nolan has taken a cinema ‘splurge’ gun, filled it with money, set it on rapid fire, removed the safety and let rip at the screen. Given that Nolan is famous for doing all of his ‘effects’ for real and ‘in camera’, some of what you see performed is almost unbelievable. You thought crashing a train through rush-hour traffic in “Inception” was crazy? You ain’t seen nothing yet with the airport scene! And for lovers of Chinooks (I must admit I am one and rush out of the house to see one if I hear it coming!) there is positively Chinook-p*rn on offer in the film’s ridiculously huge finale. The ‘inversion’ aspects of the story also lends itself to some fight scenes — one in particular in an airport ‘freeport’ — which are both bizarre to watch and, I imagine, technically extremely challenging to pull off. In this regard John David Washington is an acrobatic and talented stunt performer in his own right, and must have trained for months for this role. Nolan’s crew also certainly racked up their air miles pre-lockdown, since the locations range far and wide across the world. The locations encompassed Denmark, Estonia, India, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, and United States. Hoyte Van Hoytema’s cinematography is lush in introducing these, especially the beautiful Italian coast scenes. Although I did miss the David Arnold strings that would typically introduce these in a Bond movie: it felt like that was missing. The ‘timey-wimey’ aspects of the plot are also intriguing and very cleverly done. There are numerous points at which you think “Oh, that’s a sloppy continuity error” or “Shame the production design team missed that cracked wing mirror”. Then later in the movie, you get at least a dozen “Aha!” moments. Some of them (no spoilers) are jaw-droppingly spectacular. Perhaps the best twist is hidden in the final line of the movie. I only processed it on the way home. And so to the first of my significant gripes with ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án. The sound mix in the movie is all over the place. I’d go stronger than that… it’s truly awful (expletive deleted)! Nolan often implements Shakespeare’s trick of having characters in the play provide exposition of the plot to aid comprehension. But unfortunately, all of this exposition dialogue was largely incomprehensible. This was due to: the ear-splitting volume of the sound: 2021 movie audiences are going to be suffering from ‘~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  ánis’! (LOL); the dialogue is poorly mixed with the thumping music by Ludwig Göransson (Wot? No Hans Zimmer?); a large proportion of the dialogue was through masks of varying description (#covid-appropriate). Aaron Taylor-Johnson was particularly unintelligible to my ears. Overall, watching this with subtitles at a special showing might be advisable! OK, so I only have a PhD in Physics… but at times I was completely lost as to the intricacies of the plot. It made “Inception” look like “The Tiger Who Came to Tea”. There was an obvious ‘McGuffin’ in “Inception” — — (“These ‘dream levels’… how exactly are they architected??”…. “Don’t worry… they’ll never notice”. And we didn’t!) In “~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án” there are McGuffins nested in McGuffins. So much of this is casually waved away as “future stuff… you’re not qualified” that it feels vaguely condescending to the audience. At one point Sator says to Kat “You don’t know what’s going on, do you?” and she shakes her head blankly. We’re right with you there luv! There are also gaps in the storyline that jar. The word “~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án”? What does it mean. Is it just a password? I’m none the wiser. The manic pace of ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án and the constant din means that the movie gallops along like a series of disconnected (albeit brilliant) action set pieces. For me, it has none of the emotional heart of the Cobb’s marriage problems from “Inception” or the father/daughter separation of “Interstellar”. In fact, you barely care for anyone in the movie, perhaps with the exception of Kat. It’s a talented cast. As mentioned above, John David Washington is muscular and athletic in the role. It’s a big load for the actor to carry in such a tent-pole movie, given his only significant starring role before was in the excellent BlacKkKlansman. But he carries it off well. A worthy successor to Gerard Butler and Jason Statham for action roles in the next 10 years. This is also a great performance by Robert Pattinson, in his most high-profile film in a long time, playing the vaguely alcoholic and Carré-esque support guy. Pattinson’s Potter co-star Clemence Poésy also pops up — rather more un-glam that usual — as the scientist plot-expositor early in the movie. Nolan’s regular Michael Caine also pops up. although the 87-year old legend is starting to show his age: His speech was obviously affected at the time of filming (though nice try Mr Nolan in trying to disguise that with a mouth full of food!). But in my book, any amount of Caine in a movie is a plus. He also gets to deliver the best killer line in the film about snobbery! However, it’s Kenneth Branagh and Elizabeth Debicki that really stand out. They were both fabulous, especially when they were bouncing off each other in their marital battle royale. So, given this was my most anticipated movie of the year, it’s a bit of a curate’s egg for me. A mixture of being awe-struck at times and slightly disappointed at others. It’s a movie which needs a second watch, so I’m heading back today to give my ear drums another bashing! And this is one where I reserve the right to revisit my rating after that second watch… it’s not likely to go down… but it might go up. (For the full graphical review, check out One Mann’s Movies on t’interweb and Facebook. Thanks.) As this will be non-spoiler, I can’t say too much about the story. However, what I can is this: ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án’s story is quite dynamic in the sense that you won’t understand it till it wants you to. So, for the first half, your brain is fighting for hints and pieces to puzzle together the story. It isn’t until halfway through the movie that ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án invites you to the fantastic storytelling by Christopher Nolan. Acting is beyond phenomenal, and I’d be genuinely surprised if neither Robert Pattinson nor John David Washington doesn’t receive an Oscar nomination for best actor. It’s also hard not to mention how good Elizabeth Debicki and Aaron Johnson both are. All around, great acting, and the dialogue amps up the quality of the movie. The idea of this movie is damn fascinating, and while there are films that explore time-travelling, there’s never been anything quite like this. It has such a beautiful charm and for the most part, explains everything thoroughly. It feels so much more complex than any form of time-travelling we’ve seen, and no less could’ve been expected from Nolan. Oh my lord, the score for this film fits so perfectly. Every scene that’s meant to feel intense was amped by a hundred because of how good the score was. Let me just say though, none of them will be found iconic, but they fit the story and scenes so well. In the end, I walked out, feeling very satisfied. Nevertheless, I do have issues with the film that I cannot really express without spoiling bits of the story. There are definitely little inconsistencies that I found myself uncovering as the story progressed. However, I only had one issue that I found impacted my enjoyment. That issue was understanding some of the dialogue. No, not in the sense that the movie is too complicated, but more that it was hard to make out was being said at times. It felt like the movie required subtitles, but that probably was because, at a time in the film, there was far too much exposition. Nevertheless, I loved this film, I’ll be watching it at least two more times, and I think most of you in this group will enjoy it. I definitely suggest watching it in theatres if possible, just so you can get that excitement. (4/5) & (8.5/10) for those that care about number scores. At first, I want to ask Christopher Nolan one question, HOW THE HELL YOU DID THIS? Seriously I want to have an answer, How did he write such as this masterpiece! How did he get this complicated, fabulous and creative idea? What is going on in his mind? The story is written and directed perfectly, the narration style was absolutely unique. I have no idea how can anyone direct such as this story, that was a huge challenge, and as usual Nolan gave us a masterpiece that we’ll put beside (Memento), (Inception) and (Interstellar) The movie is so fast-paced in a good way, there was no boring moment. The chemistry between John David Washington and Robert Pattinson was great and funny and both of their performance was really good. Elizabeth Debicki performance was the best in the movie because she had the chance to show her acting abilities and she cached up that chance and showed us an A level acting. The music wasn’t unique and distinct as the music of Interstellar for example and I think this movie needed the touch of Hans Zimmer, I’m not saying that Ludwig Göransson failed but Hans Zimmer in another level. If there was something I’d say that I didn’t like it in the movie would it be that Nolan discarded any set up or characters backgrounds except Elizabeth Debicki dramatic story but it wasn’t that bad for me, I didn’t care about that, the exciting story didn’t give me the chance to focus on it. But the actual problem was the third act, it was really complicated and I got lost and I convinced myself to discard the questions that were in my head and enjoy the well-made action sequences and Elizabeth Debicki performance. I think this kind of movie that gets better with a second and third watch. I honestly don’t quite know where to begin with ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án. I love Christopher Nolan’s work but I have never seen a more complicated film (and I understood Memento). ~After nearly three hours, I came away from ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án not knowing myself, my mind reduced to nothing more than piles of ash. Was there time travel involved? Hmm, there was definitely something about time inversion. I mean, does Nolan even understand what he wrote? Look, I give credit to the director because he’s one of the few directors left who knows how to create a compelling and intelligent blockbuster. ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án is full of Nolan trademarks — the gratuitous Michael Caine cameo, a loud, really loud score, complete with stunning cinematography and slickly inventive action set-pieces. This time around however, Nolan has finally managed to ‘out-Nolan’ himself: the palindromic plot, whilst creatively ambitious, is simply far too complicated for its own good. ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án is overlong, overstuffed, pretentious and too exhausting to comprehend in its entirety — it makes Inception and Interstellar look like Peppa Pig by comparison. I’m aware of the technical wizardry and creative mastery in this film and lord knows I’ll have to watch this again. For those who want a puzzle, ~F9: The Fast Saga  [ Halálos iramban 9 ] 2021  án at least provides a unique cinematic experience. But to actually enjoy solving it Nolan wants you to work very very hard

grace i must Know™️: which percy jackson characters do you think tailor well to each character in new girl AND if you had to choose 3 roommates in to have in the pjo/hoo verse who would you choose 👁👁 I Love You
Tumblr media
ahsdgaskKADKH how did you get a photo in there dil omg i love you the way you just set my soul on fire with love okay SO
Percy Jackson: i wanna give him Nick Miller so badly SO badly, and he is very similar but maybe like 80% okay i just think nick is bit less... has ptsd from two wars and is more... willing to be silly but i think nick miller is like 99% what percy would be if he had been allowed to grow up as a normal kid :’) also lowkey percy also gives me some cece vibes heheh they’re pretty and know it and are also both pretty stubborn
Clarisse la Rue: this is mainly because i think it’s funny but coach!! on a serious note though clarisse and coach would definitely get along in terms of emotional openness and using physical skill to feel good but with a secret soft side and they like... gently bully their friends (also notes of Schmidt here with slight douchebaggery i can picture clarisse with a jar just saying)
Grover Underwood: HIGH jess vibes right they both care really passionately about their jobs, they’re both really kind and eventually wear people down so everyone likes them, AND they can both be badasses who save the day solely through the power of them wanting to help those they love also again little spots of winston here too okay they’re both a bit goofy in that weird but endearing way
now for your other question mmmmmmm
if i had to choose three roommates? being fully honest?
reyna, frank, and either percy or nico (leaning towards percy)
reyna would be super neat and a great like practical roommate to have plus she’d absolutely like silently bring you a platter of fruit while you breakdown in the middle of studying for stats ahaha what no i haven’t been there, plus i just know she gives great advice also!! most importantly! would not bring or cause any drama, would just be honest and up-front in an assertive way that doesn’t make you feel like she’s attacking your character for forgetting to bring your plate from the couch to the sink, great for when you want someone to edit your work because she’s ruthless and will help you not only get that A but continue getting A’s because you actually learned what she showed you
frank is a sweetheart! and would absolutely be messy but it’s okay because he would limit it to his room so who cares, he’s a phenomenal roommate for when you don’t want advice you just want to rage or cry because he can sense when you don’t want to be pushed and ugh that’s incredible, also will help you study and go through your thousands of flashcards seriously why did you make so. many. flashcards.
now percy is mainly a fantastic roommate for having someone to hang out or to go outside at 3 am and just look up at the stars in silence you know, he’s not too messy but he’s not like incredibly clean either but he know what’s too much, however... he’s never home, he’s the roommate who isn’t there when you go to bed and isn’t there when you wake up but sometimes his bed isn’t made? so he probably sleeps there sometimes? you’ll see him once a week when he comes back to make nachos at 11 pm
and then there’s nico!! again fantastic to hang out with AND i bet, as he gets older, he has great fashion so boom double that wardrobe babey, plus, i’m just saying he’s probably really organized about some things, like he’ll help all of you do the meal planning which is great, but then on the other hand he always loses the remote for the tv so now he’s banned from using the tv by himself also... he stays up late and isn’t always the best at keeping his noise level down or being aware of which lights he’s turning on
and there is my way too long analysis about which characters i’d want as roommates, with a focus on university roommates bc... well university is my whole life rn so she on my mind

awww thank u babe , u know me well ;)
8 - what musical artist(s) have you most felt connected to over your lifetime ?
victor tsoi 110% - i think there is nothing quite like listening to someone who has the same trauma as you do . and victor wrote and sang a lot about the trauma of living in this country ( which was ussr of 70s-80s for him , and is russia for me , but the trauma is largely very similar ) .
we all kind of grow up with tsoi as well - there is a number of his songs everyone knows here , no exception . which means i knew some of him from a very early age , and the more i grew up , the more interested in him i got . and the more of him i got to know , the more understood i felt ( and continue feeling ) .
11 - describe your ideal day
there is a lot of days that i'd consider ideal . any day with you would definitely be ideal . just sitting down playing skyrim with no disturbances would also be ideal . having a movie marathon of movies i love ( or would love ) with some great food would be ideal . a lot of different options there .
21 - do you love easily ?
honestly i don't ,,, know ?? i know i get crushes easily , but love ? probably not actually .
24 - have you ever felt like you had a “mind-meld” with someone ?
we do be constantly twinning babe , so i mean ;)
28 - on a scale from 1 to 10 , how hard is it for someone to get under your skin ?
1 , very very very easy
29 - three songs that you connect with right now
- ты не верь слезам by шура ( this song is by a really cool fucking russian singer , with a very unique voice , and the lyrics are first and foremost hopeful , which is exactly what i need rn ) ;
- เเปลไม่ออก from itsay ( regardless of anything else , the score and music in that fucking show hit you with a brick , repeatedly and constantly , but in a good way ) ;
- розы by ночные снайперы ( this is SUCH a fucking gay song - sang by someone who is clearly a queer woman , explicitly about her love for another woman , and it makes me go FERAL ) .
perceive me by asking one of these questions

And so to the first of my significant gripes with ~Tenet. This was due to: the ear-splitting volume of the sound: 2020 movie audiences are going to be suffering from ‘~Tenetis’! And we didn’t!) In “~Tenet” there are McGuffins nested in McGuffins. The word “~Tenet”? What does it mean. Is it just a password? I’m none the wiser. The manic pace of ~Tenet and the constant din means that the movie gallops along like a series of disconnected (albeit brilliant) action set pieces. However, what I can is this: ~Tenet’s story is quite dynamic in the sense that you won’t understand it till it wants you to. So, for the first half, your brain is fighting for hints and pieces to puzzle together the story. It isn’t until halfway through the movie that ~Tenet invites you to the fantastic storytelling by Christopher Nolan. I honestly don’t quite know where to begin with ~Tenet. I love Christopher Nolan’s work but I have never seen a more complicated film (and I understood Memento). ~After nearly three hours, I came away from ~Tenet not knowing myself, my mind reduced to nothing more than piles of ash. Was there time travel involved? Hmm, there was definitely something about time inversion. I mean, does Nolan even understand what he wrote? Look, I give credit to the director because he’s one of the few directors left who knows how to create a compelling and intelligent blockbuster. ~Tenet is full of Nolan trademarks — the gratuitous Michael Caine cameo, a loud, really loud score, complete with stunning cinematography and slickly

Its somewhat ironic that a movie about time travel can’t be reviewed properly until your future self rewatches the movie. It’s bold of Nolan to make such a thoroughly dense blockbuster. He assumes people will actually want to see Black Box more than once so they can understand it properly, which some may not. The exposition scenes are also waayyy too brief for something this complex — a problem also shared with Black Box actually. (Black Box had this minimalist exposition problem explaining Blight, where if you weren’t careful, you’d miss this one sentence / scene in the entire movie explaining that Blight was a viral bacteria: “Earth’s atmosphere is 80% nitrogen, we don’t even breathe nitrogen. Black Box is the long awaited new movie from Christopher Nolan. The movie that’s set to reboot the multiplexes post-Covid. It’s a manic, extremely loud, extremely baffling sci-fi cum spy rollercoaster that will please a lot of Nolan fan-boys but which left me with very mixed views. Black Box is full of Nolan trademarks — the gratuitous Michael Caine cameo, a loud, really loud score, complete with stunning cinematography and slickly inventive action set-pieces. This time around however, Nolan has finally managed to ‘out-Nolan’ himself: the palindromic plot, whilst creatively ambitious, is simply far too complicated for its own good. Black Box is overlong, overstuffed, pretentious and too exhausting to comprehend in its entirety — it makes Inception and Black Box look like Peppa Pig by comparison. I’m aware of the technical wizardry and creative mastery in this film and lord knows I’ll have to watch this again. For those who want a puzzle, Black Box at least provides a unique cinematic experience. But to actually enjoy solving it Nolan wants you to work very very hard.
