Crossguild HC

When Shanks finds out about Crossguild, he's actually convinced that his Exes got with Crocodile in a poly relationship and is devastated.

The entirety of Crossguild is doing their absolute best to make it clear that the day they fuck any of the other members is the day they lose every ounce of their meager self-respect, but Shanks keeps walking in on them in 'odd' scenarios and any progress they had with convincing him is ruined instantly.

At one point he walks in when Buggy has lost his temper and is yelling at Crocodile a bit, his limbs floating. Shanks is instantly brought to tears and is like 'Oh my god, you're yelling at him while shaking your disembodied limbs angrily...you used to do that to me when we were together, I guess you've really moved on...' Crocodile and Buggy both just...stop and share a look of mutual look of 'What the fuck is he going on about?' before being disgusted that they had the same thought, which only proves to further cement them as a couple in Shanks mind.

I need to make it as clear as possible that for Crossguild, the thought of dating each other hadn't even crossed their minds. They'd honestly be fine with faking it to fuck with Shanks if they weren't so uniquely horrified at the idea of dating each other. This can end in a slow burn where they actually do end up getting together or them just getting slightly less homicidal (and gaining some grudging respect) to each other cause

seen one too many snide posts about this in the last week or so but did you know that if you don't enjoy scenes in smut establishing consent or checking in then you simply don't have to read them and you don't have to go online and whine about how they're Consent Posturing and Purity Culture and Sanitizing Everything and God Just Kill Me Now. like you can have a preference without making it into a three act morality play, which is ironically what you are accusing other people of doing.

the same goes for like, detailed content warnings on fics. or content warnings at all. you can just skip those. they're not a sign of Purity Culture Gone Too Far or Those Damn Puriteens or whatever. you can dislike things without being an asshole about them or implying they're Taking Away What's Good And Correct About Fic Or Creativity.

Can you imagine if Bethesda let you roleplay in Fallout 4. There is so much opportunity for an incredibly interesting backstory given your character lived before the war.

You could’ve been a stormwater technician with a background in water purification systems that could’ve been an essential help to the Minutemen and the people of the Commonwealth. You could’ve been a botanist or biologist who has a better handle on how flora and fauna have evolved and mutated over overtime. That would’ve made you an incredible asset to the Brotherhood or helped you fit right in with the Institute. You could’ve been a city planner that knows the Commonwealth and it’s underground secrets like the back of your hand. The Railroad would’ve coveted those skills when trying to come up with new routes or find secure safehouses. All of these professions and many more could’ve come with stat bonuses or special feats or unique dialogue like in The Outer Worlds.

But no, you are a wife-having male soldier or a husband-having female lawyer who has a baby son that you can’t even choose the gender or name of. And no, you don’t get stat bonuses or anything interesting like that. Each sole survivor had unique dialogue regarding their past lives that was cut from the game despite being fully implemented in an attempt to not box the pre-boxed characters Bethesda already created. They even have canon names and some people for some reason choose to keep them!!! And above all the “choice” that you are forced into is inherently sexist because why would a pre-war lawyer know how to use power armor in the first quest or even fire all these crazy kinds of guns. The game is practically built around the male sole survivor, even the intro features him.

How can Bethesda claim Fallout 4 is a role-playing game when you are forced to have a white voice, a white grandfather/grandmother/father (also in the intro) and to be a certain sex (no nb option and incentivized male character choice) and have a certain background job and the dialogue options that you are given are “yes, no, sarcasm, and question��. Fallout 4 had the potential to be the best game in the entire series and it is still my favorite but fuck the wasted potential is so rough.

Yes dude, I totally agree! I was pants shittingly nervous last year about having cavities filled for the first time to my surprise it was easy peasy! I think my fiancé found it healing, too. He has a difficult time being numbed and has bad memories associated with the dentist. So I think it was very good and relieving for him to see my dentist be so liberal with the numbing shots for me and prioritize my comfort. She says she knows nobody likes to go to the dentist but she wants to make it as painless as possible for her patients.

Hygienists - I know they’re important, I know they’re just doing their job and they would probably get in trouble if they did not thoroughly clean my teeth before my dentist checks on me, but godDAMN. Ouch. I’m sore right now lmao. And It was a fucking sensory nightmare too, all the noises of my teeth being scraped and the whirring of the tools. And just the feeling of having my teeth touched, blech 🤮
