F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has insisted the sport's hierarchy "cannot intervene" to improve Ferrari's and Mercedes's lack of performance.

The Maranello and Brackley-based outfits are yet to beat Red Bull this term, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc troubled by rivals in the opening five races of the campaign.

Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso was also ahead of them at the Miami Grand Prix and finished the race 6 seconds ahead of George Russell who was 194 points ahead of the Spaniard in 2022.

The difficulty of finding victory for Ferrari and Mercedes in the early stages of the season threatens to derail F1's rise in popularity garnered largely through Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive as well as the enthralling title battle between Verstappen and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton in 2021.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Financial Times, Domenicali was adamant, however, F1 could not step in to improve Ferrari's and Mercedes's 's lack of pace, placing the burden of equalising performance on the sport's financial regulations.

“This year, we need to say the truth: Ferrari and Mercedes did a worse job than Red Bull, it’s a fact. But I would be imprudent to say the championship is finished," said Domenicali.

“We cannot intervene in the performance of the teams. I am sure what we did in terms of [the] financial regulations will help to minimise the gap on the technical side.”

an ex-zionist jewish man recently went a bit viral on tiktok for sharing exactly how he sees zionism tie israel to the jewish identity and his personal experience with breaking away from it - I think it’s a really great watch.

He also made a follow up talking specifically about how he learned to humanise Palestinians, and a really integral part of it was his school, which would often bring in Palestinian speakers who’d share their perspective (here’s a link to it).

lol 'I'm all for Louis not being interesting to the tabloids' ... 100%! I was thrilled at a report in an Austin music outlet that reviewed his show so well. I too would love to see Louis being written up in the music press but I think credible music outlets are simply not convinced Louis is an interesting touring artist and that makes me a little sad. Louis seems unaffected and the tour has been amazing and Louis genuinely seems to have stopped fussing about press or lack of it

Sometimes I think about what’s gonna be history in the future, and it occurs to me that internet stuff is inevitably going to be part of history since its the primary form of communication at this point and social media can represent mass culture of the time (in addition to it also being used by political leaders). What I’m getting at here is that fandom shit or memes could theoretically be part of history.

Imagine: a tired student doing research on the history and development of the Undertale community and its AUs. A professor going on a tirade about the weird shit that happened with Harambe. A college initiating a study on the correlation between being a brony in the early 2010s and later coming out as trans. I’m not even joking here, cultural history is a thing and this can be included. It may seem silly now, but that’s just because the things I listed off are recent and/or happening now. One day, years in the future, that will no longer be the case. This will all be the exploits of a bygone day. Perhaps, in a few decades from now, you will feel nostalgic when you see an academic article about the cultural impact of Homestuck.
