Quest with an artist Mc

bc i cant stop thinking ab himb....

i wrote this very impulsively so. yeah. theres a bit of horny towards the end, but theres also fluffy sweet things

• he learns of you being an artist when you find the time to create bloomic fanart.

• and you got endless showers of praise from him on how good it was (especially if the fanart included Xander)

• he just thinks its so neat. his artistic expression of choice is poetry, so he's not much of an artist when it comes to drawing.

• he can draw some basic flowers, but thats where his talents end.

• no matter your usual art media, buy gold (body safe) paint and paint his scars. kind of like how you paint the cracks of repaired pottery and such? except make it a vulnerable bonding experience.

• he has many scars all around his body from past accidents and gang related violence.

• i feel like he gets really insecure about them sometimes and worries theyll make you think too much about his past

• but seeing you turn them into something golden and beautiful with such ease and affection... gives him a new appreciation for those parts of him.

• he loves it even more when you connect nearby scars like intricate rivers of gold flowing across his body.

• make sure you fill the comfortable silence with lovely soft words of affirmation and kisses every now and then for the best results.

• absolutely call him your golden boy.

• the only issue is that he feels really bad for having to eventually wash them off.

• so take pictures and send them to him for just you two to hold onto ;)

• despite feeling bad about washing them off, he always feels so much better about his scars and body.

• and let him know this is exactly how you see his scars <3

• i feel like during times when you're not able to paint on him because of a late shift or something, he just looks back at the pictures and replays the soft memories for comfort.

• this is more towards the beginning of your relationship with him, when his insecurities about his past bothering you were the worst

• moving on from that, he is the perfect man to reference.

• he would find it so very funny if you ever complained about parts of him that are hard to draw.

• i could imagine just sitting there watching him work out and just... drawing the way his muscles flex and the way his body bends... dear lord those thighs...

• when you first did this, he immediately noticed. he didnt quite have the courage to ask if you were drawing him (after all, forms of art are very personal things)

• but when he sees you're staring at the sketchbook page more than him, he decides to take a break and ask you.

• not because he's getting jealous of the notebook. hes not a jealous person. the curiosity just takes over because the stares mean you're stuck on smthn or you're finished.

• and boy is he beyond flattered. flustered even.

• he's never really... thought much about himself. physically and mentally. so the fact that he's worth being sketched touches his very soul.

• if you're the type of artist who loves gushing over defined shapes and begin to ramble about the shapes that you love about him, his cheeks will be red and he will patiently listen to every word you have to say.

• as weird as it is to listen to someone describe his physical features with such passion, there's something special about the way you talk about it.

• especially if you suddenly realize what you're saying and get flustered.

• he likes feeling like art when its you. he loves the way you map out his body and turn the shapes of him into strokes of graphite poetry.

• .... he wouldnt mind if you drew him suggestively as well... so long as its for your eyes and his eyes only...

• of course there would be teasing about just how much you seem to adore his body, but never in a way that deters you from sketching him more.

• which, knowing Quest, his teasing quickly veers into horny territory. at the very least deep kisses.

• he says he just want to "give you more inspiration" and that "its his job as your muse"

• he definitely develops a fixation on your hands specifically. the way your hands trace his body delicately as if trying to memorize every line of him while making out with him on his lap.

• it absolutely drives him insane.

• the way his large hands encircle your wrist while his fingers press on your palms in bed. or when his fingers tangle with yours. and he can see you looking at it. memorizing every moment of it. of him. of the emotions tied to the image.

• that part he loves the most about your art. the pure emotion of it captured so perfectly

• oh yeah it definitely awakens something in him. especially if he finds you sketching those the next day peacfully at your desk.

• honestly i think you being an artist just changes the way he sees things. in the best of ways.

• he also finds himself massaging your hands absent mindedly while cuddling. and softly kissing them... they work so hard and he wants to take care of them for you.

• he is just so very happy to be your favorite muse.

Finally finished this guy!!

I'm really pleased with how he came out, he's the most complicated needle felting project I've ever done by FAR. Though that it's an immensely huge record to break, given he's my 4th started 5th finished piece and all but one of those were over 8 years ago.

I'm not sure I'll be doing much more needle felting though. I want to make bigger, more huggable stuffies and needle felting just isn't the optimal medium for that. So my next project (unless I get distracted again) will be to learn to sew. But! At least now I have an IRL DJMM to accompany me on that journey. :3

I should also learn to take better pics at some point...the downside of physical art is that you need a secondary photography skill to show it off. ToT

absolute brat. biggest brat in the universe. oh my god he drives everyone crazy and he knows it, and he loves it

it takes approximately ten minutes after discovering jonny regresses for brian to take away his guns. this, of course, leads to issues. jonny holds his breath until he passes out, screams, does whatever he can think of to get his guns back. they compromise, and jonny gets nerf guns when he's small

brian regrets being the first one to step up and try to take care of jonny

jonny is very close with nastya, and he does like to run off and play with her when he feels small. of course, "playing" looks more like playing the "what's that for?" game while nastya works

ashes is very good with him, and they are able to get jonny to settle down when no one else can. they are also the only reason he will ever have one vegetable, big or small

king of tantrums. dear lord

ashes steps in to stop the tantrums, because they're the only one who can. they accomplish this by scooping him up under the arms and letting him dangle in the air until he gets tired

cuddliest lil guy, but only sometimes. no one can just ask him if he wants a cuddle and expect good results, instead he's much more like a cat. jonny will suddenly appear beside whoever he wants cuddles from, wrapped in a blankie, and he will just. plop down. this is not a choice anyone can make, the baby wants cuddles and he's gonna get them

despite calling him a baby (never My Baby by anyone, just The Baby), and despite his love of pacis (since marius confiscates his cigarettes), jonny regresses to a kiddo more around 6-8. he just likes more baby-ish things, but he is very independent

will at times refuse to walk, will only scuttle on the floor

he actually really loves baths, and it's a very easy way for someone to calm him down. just run him a bubble bath, give him some bath crayons and toys, and he's happy as could be. just don't let the water get too cold

loves magic! he is so easily entertained by magic tricks, card tricks, and it's not hard to blow his mind. it keeps him occupied, especially when he tries to recreate the trick

he loves cuddling with ivy because she reads him stories while he's with her, and it makes him comfy enough to almost take a nap. almost

refuses naps until he collapses out of exhaustion, and he will never learn his lesson

you know those lil baby yogurt snacks? yeah. shoveling those in by the fistful. he loves them so much

everyone knows he likes regressing because he had a bad childhood, and because he does actually have quite a bit of anxiety, so even though he can be a lot to handle, they still don't mind taking care of him <3

Okay, warhammer stuff can sit down for a second. I got started talking to my boyfriend about this and now everyone else has to hear about it too.

So, I have three favorite animals. The highland cow, and moths are the first two. The third is The American Woodcock.

Look at himb.

Not only are they the quintessential bird, have the words 'wood' and 'cock' right next to each other in their name, and look like something a 1st grader would draw when asked to draw a 'bird,' but they have some amazing side features to go along with them.

#1. They have some fantastic colloquial names. My personal favorite of the bunch is 'Timberdoodles,' because come on, that's good. Here's some from the official Wikipedia page on them:

#2. They don't sound like a bird. They sound like a squeaky toy.

#3. They dance to find worms.

Amazing. They strutting real good, good job birbs.

Edit: I forgot to explain why they do this. It's to hunt worms! We aren't 100% sure why they do it or how it works, but it's effective enough for them to keep doing it so... I dunno. It's freaking cute though.

Some researchers believe it's to emulate the vibrations of rain so worms will come to the surface. Worms like to go where there's moisture, so the Woodcocks walk rhythmically to make the worms think there's water falling down from somewhere. A couple others believe the vibrations emulate falling dirt or changing landscape, which causes the worms to be disturbed and try to move away from it, usually up into the birb's range.

Foolish worms, your hubris will cost you your life!

#4. They've got some whack ass beaks

Not only is the bill prehensile, but it's also bendy! Their flexible beak has a ton of nerve endings in it to sense where the worms their searching for are. So when they're pecking at the ground and not pulling up anything, it's not because they missed, it's because they're using it to sense if there is a worm to go after at all and if its moving or stationary. Not only that, but unlike other birds, they can open the upper tip of the beak. Its especially useful for letting their long rough tongue out after sticking it in the ground so they can catch worms!

Honorable mention: their eye placement let's them see nearly 360 degrees around themselves, so they're especially hard to catch for game birds.

So. If this didn't convince you that Timberdoodles are fantastic and amazing creatures worthy of praise, I don't know what will at this point.

Go forth and spread this information to fellow bird lovers. Tell them they need to add the Woodcock to their favorite animals list.

7! I don't have a lot, that's for sure, but hopefully people enjoy it.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

15,936 words! Which is not that much compared to some of you, but I tend towards the shorter side of things anyways.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

So far, just the Mysterious Benedict Society and lately Bungou Stray Dogs. Which is funny to me because they are so wildly different. But! I also plan on writing for the Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern eventually because it's one of my favorite books. Nay, dare I say my favorite book.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

I'll also just list all of my fics, because I don't have many.

The Sweat Beneath One's Eyes - This is my Reynie as a Messenger/Executive what-if fic, which while I had a lot of enthusiasm, I was still new to the writing of longer form fics.

This is a new intro post to my Pack in Wolvden! Sorry it has taken so long to post this... i literally just forgot to make this.

For those who want to know who I am on Wolvden: My Pack's name is "The Cryptids Eye Pack" and my player name is ClownCryptids ! my user number is #119087

Some basic info on how I've been playing so far:

I've decided to go with a "Pagan" (mostly Gaelic) name theme for my wolves, bec I feel like those kind of names fit wolves really well! (I've just been using a Pagan baby name site to name them heh)

I really like cool eyes and I want to collect lots of them! Hence the "Eye" in my pack name!

I am going to try to go for a mostly "clean" (not inbred) pack, though I may still have some dirty wolves if i like em enough (cough Rune cough)

Now onto the Wolves!

This is my pack leader Eun! He's pretty boring bec he was my first wolf.. but im emotionally attached to him now. I would love to give him a new base tho!

This is my current Stud and Herbalist Orrin! He is sooo pretty lookin <3 I haven't really used him much for stud tho.. I like getting studs from outside of the pack! Plus Orrin isn't actually that special genetically :P

This is Darragh my Mentor! I bought her bec she was cheep and a high level with maxed out Finisher proficiency but ive decided she has a curse that makes it so she always looses prey... bec of this she has been made a Mentor LOL (She does have great luck in babies tho bec she gave me a pie pup, love her for that <3)

Next up we have Geir and Lachlan! I bought them at the same time as Darragh bec they too had high levels and maxed out hunting proficiencies! They aren't very fancy but they do their job well and I appreciate them for that.

My Teardrop base boy Erwynn! He's a Scout because he has an asshole personality so he would piss off the rest of the hunting party. He is so pretty tho I love the teardrop base sm <3

Imogen! Im pretty sure she's my highest stat girl! She too was bought alongside Darragh for the same reasons as the other hunters! She actually has a maxed out chaser prof i think, but I switched her to a finisher to replace Darragh and she is so good at it (probably bec of her high stats)! Also I think she is very pretty :3

Eirene, my second wolf I got in the game! She's the pack member I got to customize! Im probably gonna keep her around just for sentimentality <3 She is currently one of the hunting party's chasers!

Larimar! My second Scout! I got him as a gift!!! I wanted himb for his cool eyes, he looks so spooky <3

This here is my problem child Rune! I bought him with the plan for him or one of his pups to be the next stud... but I didn't check for inbreeding first... he has 7 instances LOL. Im keeping him bec he's so pretty, the colors just looks so nice ...

The twins! Seila and Sloane! I bought them in the same trade, I really only wanted Sloane but I decided to keep Seila around for a wile! they both have just had their first litters (of which I will be selling all pups from lol) and after Seila's pup is weaned she will be for sale!

Wraith! One of the first wolves I bought! I got her for the eyes <3 She just recently grew up! She's the first wolf Ive had from puppy to adult hood hehe. She is currently expecting puppies! exiting!

Daemon! I bought her shortly after I bought Wraith! She also just grew up and is pregnant as well! I may sell her if I get some better eclipse eyed pups from her... but Im keeping her for now!

Eskel, my beautiful Pupsitter! I bought him for the looks but I found out he's got maxed out Pupsitting so that was a big bonus!!! gosh he's so pretty... one of my faves for sure.

Guinevere! This is Darragh's Pie pup! she is so pretty omg... I REALLY wish I could get the Fox base applicator for her bec she would look sooo good with it!!

Ay, I absolutely ain't got no problems talking about Ricky so thank you for the invitation 🥰!

Roller Ricky is a side character from the game Killer Frequency. He's a sweet and fun loving guy who runs a roller rink in the fictional small town of Gallows Creek(hence the nickname). He's very chill, down to Earth, and friendly. He also has an emotional support dog named Max who he absolutely loves (which it's sooo fucking cute how much he loves him oh my God).

Despite being certified sweet boi in my books (calls him "certified sweet boi" even tho he's literally a grown ass man in his late 30s lol), he has no problems with scaring off someone with his rifle if they threaten him or those he loves (this is literally canon, and I love that it's canon).

Annnnnnd what's a certified sweet boi without a traumatic backstory. Without spoiling the game too much, Ricky went through this fucked up prank in high school where he literally thought his friends were fucking murdered and one of them actually fucking dying (I'm not kidding you, shit's fucked up). Turns out it was a stupid hazing ritual that his football team was doing to the new players, and he didn't know that because he can't keep secrets well and would've spoiled it. Yeah that's not a good fucking excuse because he developed really bad survivor's guilt that caused him to become an alcoholic to deal with the trauma (and my poor bby I wanna wrap him up in a blanket now 😭).

Fortunately, he found a support group and got actual therapy for his trauma. Now he encourages others to push through tough times.

Yeah I love this man soooo much it's not even funny lol.

What's sad tho is Killer Frequency is kinda niche(?) I think, so there isn't too much content out there for him, despite being relatively well liked by fans. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who has written any x reader things for him. That's so me tho, I've always fallen in love with characters that are unknown or unpopular, it's my curse. Anyways, my first ever full length fanfic I wrote, Heart Shaped Roller Rink (been thinking about making that our ship name, I think it's cute) was a Roller Ricky x reader fic. I've thought about revamping it too with it being my first fanfic; just kinda clean up the wacky formatting and fix the grammatical errors (I feel like with him being my f/o now, it's what he deserves lol). Then I literally wrote some headcanons for him the day after I posted that fic. Finally, not too long after that, I wrote another fic with him where the reader was pregnant because I feel it in my bones that he'd be such a sweet dad.

I didn't really plan on having him as my f/o, but after realizing I had written three things for him back to back to back, I was like "yeah, this is more than loving a character a normal amount." ~UNFORTUNATELY YES. He just doesn't want to be vulnerable or week or hurt so he runs away from most things and faces others only if it's absolutely necessary, unavoidable, or a way to save someone important to him. The only other way anyone would know if he was drunk :( (I don't count it if it's something he's actively bringing up since usually that means it's more of an annoyance)

🐉 - What are the things people get wrong about them?

~Mosty people assume that he doesn't care about others and well it kills him to express that in most forms, but he does. He cares a whole lot, actually. A devastating amount. He has codependency issues with anyone he gets attached to hahaha He can't bear to live with or without them like it's fucking bad

~He gloats about being the "smartest man in the universe" but canon has proven this untrue with the whole, central finite curve deal. Most people still think of him as such tho. In all reality, there's the curve, inventing, and a fuck ton of improv based luck on his side.

~hhaha Mostly Rick but honestly it depends? I step up more as I get used to my place in the infinite multiverse and I'd die before something that bad happens to Rick or Morty.....buuut Rick is more confrontational in general sooooo (shrugs)

hemlo! was curious abt Akku's magic powerz! Cuz i remember reading abt his bioluminescence but u also drew himb with fire stuffs! what r his magics? :0

hewo! i saw this ask hours ago but i was attending my uni's local art exhibit (+ data shitty there jdfmnfdm), so sorry it's late </3

But this story has multiple sources of powers, which some certain species (?) have their own naturally attained powers, , others draw their power from their surroundings / from the planet itself, while some can use runes and other things (think glyphs!) as a mode of accessibility for those who do not/are not able to naturally use magic.

Akku, in the meantime, is a child of a sea dragon and an earth dragon, both who are of very powerful lineage; Him being able to influence his environment is just a taste of the rest of his powers!

A being's powers in this universe absolutely depends on how much they are able to hone their skills. This is true for all types of magic. So.. well, making a list for Akku can be a little hard to think about! And not all of things I'd list could end up canon so I'm a little hesitant but here we go

What I've got so far is:

- Complex shape shifting (this is different for every person in this universe, but for Akku, he has it down pat, since his skillset is more influenced by the control of liquids. eventually he gets there with the earth/rocks/land part of his skills)

- Is able to remember specific glyphs and spells, but runes baffle him.

- As for the fire, read above! + He learns an artificial light spell (aka Glow Spell) from Orbit as soon as he's informed that he can learn other elements (at age 10). He and Orbit's manifestation of light manifest differently; Orbit's level of mastery and love for creatures allow him to manifest this spell as a companion/familiar. Akku's manifestation of this spell is completely organically shaped (i.e. it can be anything he wants, but it mostly appears as fire-like, or he always adds it to other elements)

- Underwater breathing comes in later, after he reuinites with his parents as a child, and as soon as he decides that he can't be afraid of water forever (at age 12). He loves wading in water as a child, but his separation from his parents was traumatic enough for an 8~9 year old to try his best to avoid it as much as possible.

- Alon is able to dive deep in the ocean; Akku can only reach half that at the least, 3/4ths at best. (I have not done enough research for a number to be plausible to my collective. i feel like hadal zone may be too deep and implausible www)

- Akku is able to largely manipulate his environment (at age 18, then gets better with time); i mean that he's able to sense and move around large bodies of water and hurl boulders if needed.

Not sure if this explains anything tbh, it's all very broad and vague, but I do think of magic like... as a mix of a lot of irl things. mostly skill & understanding the fundamentals of it. and i treat it how i treat the advancement of techniques in my own journey in art. but also this is a fantasy world where almost anything is possible if i want it to be HAHAH so a lot of changes can come and go. if you want any more specifics, please feel free to ask!
