i'm going to get a bad grade in appreciating films
#i feel like everyone agrees this movie is great and i#it was good but it's not something i'd watch again personally#then again that's not saying too much there's very few movies i'll watch more than once#i think i'm just bad at recognising good film#i'm out here loving the shittiest cgi known to man terrible disaster movies and shit#but give me something people seem to adore? apparently i'm not moved#it's definitely a me problem#i'm into trash too much to appreciate the top tier stuff#(alright now that i'm deep enough into my tags the movie was spirited away)#it was a good movie i liked it no face was fun and the little critters#but it's probably lowest on my list of studio ghibli movies i've seen. which ISN'T MANY TO BE CLEAR#it's not many#howl's moving castle is probably my second favourite movie ever#i've watched totoro more than once too which is saying something#arrietty reminded me of the borrowers which was fun#kiki's delivery service i don't actually remember that well but it had jiji and i've got two black cats so...#i might rewatch that one honestly#i thought i'd love spirited away because everything else has been good and people speak so highly#but it just didn't click with me hhhh#should i start apologising now or#going to continue making my way through ghibli films though and hope my opinions improve

Saw it was make a terrible comic day today (June 24 2025) so meet my cats
#makeaterriblecomicday2025#my art#comic#comics#cat comic#it is indeed a terrible comic#but I recently adopted these two after fostering 4 cats and missing having cats of my own#I love them both very much#They're still adjusting to the house and finding who their person is#especially Lucida Sans#But that's ok i know she had a tough start#She and Tammy came to the shelter pregnant#And from Lucida's body it seems like she had been pregnant many times#but now she doesn't have to be a mommy cat anymore#she just learned how to play and have fun!#it took her 2 weeks to learn how to play by watching Tammy play#Meanwhile Tammy has a kitten mindset#she still suckles on Lucida#the only time Tammy purrs is when she's suckling#that is#until she started recently purring when I pet her and carry her around#She is so sweet and funny#but she also jumps on my railing that overlooks the basement stairs down and its a steep fall#and I don't know how to stop her and I live in fear one day she'll slip and fall down

Love love love characters that present themselves as emotionally open social butterflies but the more you see of them the more obvious it is that they’re the most closed off fuckers in the story. Sure, they want to help you with your personal problems and messy emotions, but if you turn that shit back on them, they’ll shut down or deflect every time. Why are you sticking your nose in their business anyway? It’s not like it matters. They’re not a person, they’re just a role being played. They’re the guy who fixes things and saves people. Lyra, my beloved cat of 13 years, passed away this year on Father's Day. She's been by my side through very difficult times and was my little rock of steady and unrelenting love. I struggled a lot drawing this, and struggled a lot posting it, but I know I would've wanted to read a comic like this that validated my grief for her when I lost her.
Wherever you are, Lyra my little summer star, I love you always! Thank you for being the best thing in my life.
