It wouldn’t surprise me if Luigi Mangione doesn’t become even more radicalized by experiencing the carceral system regardless of his innocence.

He will likely meet dozens of “decent” people in jail who are in for lesser crimes yet are stuck for YEARS because of how broken the system is and will probably start to go a bit manic both while he’s in custody and after he’s released. He’ll make more mistakes and falter because they will torture him through the banality of evil that no one even KNOWS how talk about it (this Saydnaya shit is WAY worse and yet…)

People will speculate and strip him of his identity that will really test the merits of his character because, yeah he’s hot NOW, but what happens when he gets old and he can’t hide his disability anymore which makes him kind of irritating and unlikable? When his back pain drives him insane because he can’t get access to drugs because the system doesn’t care?

I wonder about the awareness of how globalized our identities are in this endeavor and what this signifies for what’s the come. This feels like a literal trigger point in history and we must be diligent in terms of scrutinizing the trail left along the way.
